Cafe Volkan Brooklyn Reviews
Great cafe with great food. There are a few seats and it is usually packed but I think they make it work really well. We went in the morning when it was really cold so we thankfully didn’t have to wait for a table but I’m imagining it’d be harder when it’s warmer. The food was great. It also comes with a side of bread
Wow. What a gem of a hole-in-the-wall coffee shop. It’s tiny with maybe four tables (though calling them tables is a bit of a stretch) pushed together. The coffee was very good. But boy is their food excellent. Not only in taste but they obviously take pride in the presentation. Beautifully served. The waffles had bananas, strawberries, and blueberries all laid with care - oh and with real maple syrup (why is that so hard). Also the bagel and advocates were great. Well worth going.
I stopped by this small coffee shop and had a very pleasant experience. The place is really cute and welcoming. I ordered an açaí bowl and my friend had a bagel — everything was fresh, tasty, and well prepared. Prices were reasonable, and it’s a great spot if you’re looking for something quick, fresh, and on the healthier side. There are no restrooms, which is good to know, but for a short stop or a quick bite, it works perfectly. Overall, a nice little coffee shop with good food and a relaxed vibe.
Really cute place with high quality food! Had the avocado toast and the eggs w/ avocado. Both were really tasty. The latte was top notch. Only thing to note is place is small. I think there are like 12 seats.
Beeeautiful cafe, delicious food, awesome menu, reasonable prices, small yet I always a place to sit. I’d come here daily if i lived in this neighborhood!! Only downside is it’s not super eco-conscious… “for here” beverages are served in disposable cups by default (😞), metal cutlery comes in a disposable wrapper, and take-out packaging has a of plastic vs other places that do more paper-based containers.
My favorite place to have a cup of oat milk flat white. The coffee is so delicious ! They also make their own oat milk, which is amazing. The atmosphere there is always so calm and friendly. The stuff is extremely professional and helpful. If you’re not sure what to order they will absolutely advise. You always want to come back because you know that the experience is going to be extremely pleasant!
Cute cafe with an impressive number of items on the menu for brunch! There’s not too much seating so it could be a hit or miss with availability, and could be quite squeezed when you do sit and eat. The smoked salmon omelette was delicious and tasted very healthy (although needed a bit more salt).
Fantastic food and service! We visited this morning for breakfast with our 11-month-old baby girl, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. They kindly prepared a salt-free omelet with avocado for her, which we really appreciated. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the açaí bowl was a standout—highly recommend!
Tiny place with friendly staff and excellent service. We had the prosciutto omelette, an acai bowl, and a waffle. Everything was excellent. You have to get lucky in order to get a seat inside, but good weather means sidewalk seating will also be available. I had severe order envy when I saw the Turkish eggs delivered to the patron next to us and hope to be able to try that on a future visit.
Lovely coffee and food! Limited seating but would recommend outside if the weather is nice!
Café Volkan is a charming little spot with fantastic hot chocolate and perfectly flaky croissants. The outdoor seating area is just as tiny as the café itself, but it somehow works and adds to the coziness. A great place to stop by for a quick bite — and definitely grab a latte while you’re there.
Very cute cafe in the neighborhood. The food looks amazing and the vibe is cozy. However, do NOT order matcha latte. It’s too watery and no flavor at all and overpriced. Paying $8 for a tasteless matcha latte, I’d just buy a matcha flavor boba tea from Heytea or Debutea. Other than this, recommend this cute cafe.
I ordered an iced Nutella latte with oat milk, and it was honestly terrible. First off, it was $8 (NYC prices, sure but the drink SUCKED). I’ve worked in coffee shops for six years, and now that I’m a retired barista, I still enjoy the occasional specialty latte. I saw that Café Volkan had great reviews and some interesting drinks, so I figured I’d give it a try. The barista partly steamed the milk for my iced drink, I’m guessing to mix the flavorings, but that can easily be done with a spoon. As a result, when they poured the warm milk and espresso over the ice, it melted almost immediately. What I ended up with was a watery, room-temp $8 drink that tasted like nothing. I couldn’t taste any Nutella, and overall it was just super disappointing. I’m always happy to support small businesses and don’t mind paying higher prices when the quality matches the cost but in this case, it really didn’t.
