El Manjar Dominicano Brooklyn Reviews
Love it, Best Dominican spot in Brooklyn. Food has authentic Dominican flavor. The place is super clean and the employees are very friendly. Beautiful little spot.
Wow the mofongo was emazing and also had an order of onion steak very good taste you can feel the home made seasoning top quality food feels like your buying the food made from home
If you’re having a bad day, get up and pick up the lunch special. You will feel the sweet embrace of simple, delicious food. Also if you eat normal person portions you’ll most likely have enough leftovers for dinner, all for very cheap.
Amazing neighborhood addition. Cannot beat the 9 dollar lunch special - rice, beans and choice of meat. Delicious spot, excited to return.
Very nice. My chrispy pork, moro and, plátanos were very flavorful. I had a small size. 🤷🏽♀️ Spanish food can kill you. 😁
Food was bangin’, and the price was *muah* excellent- you can not go wrong with that.
This is one of the best Spanish food places in green-point. I order a salmon a la parrilla with yellow rice and it was amazing very tasteful I give it a 10/10.🎉
Always a good experience. Food is great and price in area is affordable.

So affordable usually comes first on my list but what a wonderful surprise. The food was delicious , the pernil ( roast pork ) was not overly salted the rice and beans delicious . Cute little ambiance outside , you can tell it’s a family business flooded with love . Percent spot on my rotation
I got a too good to go bag here last night - i’m a white girl from the midwest and idk anything about Dominican food, but I DO know when food is excellent and this absolutely was. Chicken soup situation was so flavorful. Will definitely be back when I need a hangover cure haha.
I just picked up an order, I ordered on TooGoodToGo, the food was delicious. They give you a lot of food. Also the woman at the front was very helpful and very friendly. I will definitely order from here again. I’m so glad to have found a new spot to eat in GREENPOINT. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Betsy the owner is such a hard working lady, food in this place is awesome 100% recommended.
I live in the neighborhood and this is one of my favorite lunch spots. Everything I’ve tried has been so delicious and nourishing. The folks are friendly and patient with me, which is appreciated since I don’t speak Spanish. I love the majarete (corn pudding), luscious and not too sweet!
Amazing cambios in the neighborhood. I lived here in the 80's and now the culture is more diversified and the food has taken a big step forward. This little place has excellent latin food.

The food is authentic Dominican cuisine — very fresh! I also have to highlight the excellent customer service. I highly recommend this place.
I was working in brooklyn for the day. I searched up Dominican food, and El Manjar came up. I live in CT and i will be returning. That food was the closest tasting to how my grandmothers cooked. The service the food and the environment were to notch.
Thankful for this spot in the neighborhood. Always hits. Has great specials of the day and amazing lunch deals. Priced amazingly, always delicious, family owned, quality.

El Manjar Dominicano Layout/atmosphere *Lucheonette/steam trays; five seat wall counter; tables on sidewalk Food/drink *Chicharron with yellow rice, black beans & sweet plantains - Good; chicharron had crunch, wasn’t too greasy or too dry
Great food for a great price. Staff was nice & patient. I'll be back very soon

Large portions and fair prices. I’ve been here a handful of times and nothing has knocked me out as great or terrible but it’s a nice place to have nearby.
Terrible service, the guy working at the register was not friendly. Rolling his eyes as I approached, I ordered pickup and he completely forgot I was waiting right across from him. He told me to wait 3 minutes, I ended up waiting 20 minutes and got fed up. When I looked behind me my food was just sitting there and he was on his phone. He acknowledged his mistake and said ‘I knew someone asked me for something’. I was initially excited to come here because I’ve ordered this dish for takeout and it was exceptional. Even though the service was bad, I wouldn’t rate the food poorly unless it actually was. To my surprise the food was not tasty this time. The shrimp were hardly cooked. The mofongo didn’t taste fresh, the pork pieces were not tasty not fresh, they were more like scraps. I think it’s because I ordered much later in the day this time, my first experience ordering food from here I ordered right when they opened. The interior and atmosphere is very nice with decorations. Seating is available indoor and outdoor but neither are comfortable. Interior seating has stools and outdoor seating consists of hard metal chairs. If I return, I’d come back when they first open for the fresh food. Definitely not worth the 25 dollars I spent.

Ordered via Uber Eats and the mangu con los 3 golpes was old! As a Dominican, you can tell when the mangu have been reheated and resalted. The cheese was also reheated and had a rubbery texture. Terrible and took a very long time will not be reordering from here. Sad to not be supporting a Dominican restaurant.
i walked in here yesterday thinking this food was going to be really good but it turned out to be just a terrible experience. I was with my wife we ordered two plates of food and the woman working behind the counter didn’t even say Hi or even acknowledge our presence, she didn’t even ask what we would like to order. Besides the terrible customer service i ordered the food thinking it was going to be good to be exact the pepper steak, and the rice and beans. and usually i love to give good reviews but i can’t even describe how bad the food tasted. It tasted like it was left out and cold and the gentleman behind the register almost charged me 38 dollars !! for one small plate and a regular plate. IF YOURE THINKING ABOUT GOOD DOMINICAN FOOD DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.
The customer service is horrible but this is NYC so whatever, just hoping the food was good. Restaurant smells so good but the food is bad, like really bad. Don't even bother, just nasty all together.
