Elsa Brooklyn Reviews
I have known this bar from Instagram for a while, and decided to visit when I'm in NYC. The decorations are as pretty as pictures on Instagram. The cocktails are not only beautiful but also tasty. The charcuterie and cheese plate is delicious. Good selection of cheese. Love this bar. I would definitely visit often if I live in this city.
when my husband and i had our civil ceremony we decided to come to Elsa’s for drinks with close friends and family. let me tell you, it did not disappoint. we decided to ring in the new year at this special place and once again, it was amazing. great cocktail, service, and atmosphere.
Excellent cocktails!! Amazing flavors, snacks simple and yummy! Great place ! Definitely we will comeback if we are in the area!
Art Deco dining out masterpiece. From the bar, to the drinks, to the food, and even to the bathrooms (and the doors!). Cozy, classy, and staff that are so helpful a kind. Perfect for date night or friends night!
If you’re someone who truly appreciates a well-crafted cocktail — the kind where every detail is intentional and the experience feels just a bit magical — Elsa Bar in Brooklyn is your destination. Tucked away with a quiet confidence, Elsa doesn’t shout for attention, it simply delivers excellence. The cocktails here are, without exaggeration, some of the best in New York City. Thoughtfully balanced, creative without being gimmicky, and consistently elegant — this place is for those who deserve a great drink and know how to appreciate one.
My family and I visited this amazing bar while on holidays from Ireland and had a fantastic evening. The cocktails were expertly curated and presented, the decor is fab and the staff were lovely and very helpful. Unlike a lot of so called cocktail bars, you can definitely see the thought and effort that they put into not only their drinks list, but the charcuterie and nibble selection, and the whole atmosphere, I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. We need a branch in Ireland!!!!
Love this bar! The ambiance and decor are so perfectly Art Deco & the cocktail menu is delicious. Highly recommend the Hotel Danger! and the Mimi’s Broach which tastes like a liquid Fig Newton. There are lots of little booths, so it’s a great place for a date or just grabbing a cozy cocktail. Love this place.
Overall rating: 4.8 I’ve only been here once, but I loved it. I didn’t have any food, so I can’t rate it a full 5 but I’m sure it’s great. It’s one of the very few places that you can go with a large party or just chill in the corner (which I love). I can’t remember what I got, but I remember they tasted beautifully flowery. 🌸 Also! These prices are up my alley. Will definitely be back soon. Highly recommend.
Soooo good. The NYC cocktail scene has been bland, but Elsa passes the test. Had the 'My Old So and So' which was a sweet peppery-citrus kiss on the lips (Scarlet Ibis Rum, Black Pepper Syrup, Grapefruit & Black Walnut Bitters), 'Back to the Radio' which was a unique mash up of a Sazerac and Manhattan (Knob Creek Bourbon, Sfumato, Campari, Absinthe, Jamaican Bitters) and Mimis Broach. Super attentative servers, laid back yet lush vibes. Gem.
This spot’s a hidden gem. Hands down, one of the best cocktail bars Brooklyn. Great for a casual drink or date, and not at all pretentious. If not for the neon-lit “Elsa” sign and window showing the interior, I’d assume this were a speakeasy. Hip and chill ambiance, and cute outdoor seating in the back. Snacks like nuts, olives, and a charcuterie board are available to order, but don’t come here on an empty stomach if you’re looking for something of more substance. I’m not much of a drinker but I love the Frozen Painkiller and Elsa’s Dark and Stormy.
Elsa is a fabulous place to grab a drink close by to downtown Brooklyn area. They have a long list of cocktails, which requires several trips to try them all. They have all liquor ranging from absinthe to the regular whiskeys. The place offers a clean and pristine ambience worth the experience. Also they have a selective low cost side plate order such as nuts and olives. Highly recommended to visit for their rare menu of cocktails.
The drink I got was super tasty: the Strawberry-Rhubarb Shrub. It was packed with flavor and so refreshing! The vibe here is very young, creative. The drinks are normal NYC pricing so try to stick to 2 if your on a budget. The vibe was really cool here. The light ulna in each lamp are all custom shaped — looks like the glass was blown to be a bit tipsy turvy. There’s a lot of fine details in the decor that make coming here a great spot to catch up, go on a date, or just observe your surroundings.
Ok drinks, service is practically nonexistent. Staffs just chatting up with each other. The server didn’t pour us any water, not even once. Not sure why they’re there besides taking order and brining drinks.
We came here on a Sunday night and were really disappointed. The service was just whatever — not attentive, not welcoming. The margarita and the gin gimlet were honestly awful. When the bartender asked how the drinks were, I told her they weren’t good. She said she’d try to remake something decent… and then completely ignored us after that. You can tell this is one of those places that gets good reviews early on and then stops caring. Feels more like they’re just coasting, serving shitty beers and cheap, poorly made drinks without much concern for the experience. Definitely won’t be back
Cool atmosphere but need to fix the cocktails! Old fashioned and espresso martini were honestly undrinkable
