Lillo Cucina Italiana Brooklyn Reviews
Where do I begin, the cozy interior, the kind hospitality from Lisa or the pasta cooked to absolute perfection? The place is small and there will likely be a wait but my goodness it is SO worth it. Every item we had was delicious and we didn’t feel rushed to hurry up and finish even though there was a line out the door. I highly highly recommend this spot for lunch or dinner, or a cute date night. The prices are very reasonable and the owners are so charming. My boyfriend and I went for Valentine’s Day and we will definitely be back! Order: sautéed artichokes, lobster ravioli, cacio e pepe, and the meatballs with tomato sauce. Finished with a cappuccino and tiramisu. Everything was 10/10!!
Okay. Lillo is my favorite place in NYC to eat, and now also my favorite Italian food across the entire United States of America. I’ve eaten at many places, with many different levels of fanciness and quality. Lillo has hole-in-the-wall vibes, homemade deliciousness, and the owner himself serves the food and drinks. The food takes you out of the city and into culinary heaven. The taste and care put into each dish is deserving of at least a Michelin star. Will absolutely be back, many more times.
Perfect lasagna and tiramisu and wonderful artichokes with a very charming owner. Ridiculously inexpensive. What a find! Only 6 tables though and there is no bathroom.
Absolutely loved it, and will go again - had sandwiches for lunch which were so tasty and very reasonably priced - you could taste the quality of ingredients. And the Tiramisu was incredible! Ate so fast forgot to take a pic but its so worth it- cash only!
Wonderful restaurant that I am sure to go to again. Warm, kind staff and great food. I would not be surprised to hear that they make their pasta in house (so tender!). The lasagna was one of the best I've had. Also: get the artichokes (which were recommended to us), my dinnermate who doesn't like artichokes ate the whole thing! Cute cute cute vibe and cash only!
We're from Oregon visiting our daughter here. We went to Lillo's with her who had eaten here many times and swore by it. The service and surroundings couldn't be any more charming. By the time you get to the food you're in a really good mood. All the appetizers and main courses were excellent and very unique. The artichoke appetizer, for example, was the best artichoke ive ever eaten. We capped it all off with two desserts (Affogato/Tiramisu) which were also excellent. The owners were both so accommodating and engaging. We'll be eating here every time we visit.
My wife and I had lunch with our daughter and her boyfriend, the artichoke appetizer was phenomenal, Caprese was very good as you would expect. We shared 5 plates, lobster ravioli, pesto gnocchi, meatballs and peppers, veal tortellini, and Cacio de pepe. Just fabulous! All exceptional. But the star of the show was the Tiramisu. And to all the barista's that want to know what a proper Latte is, visit him, he will sort you out. Perfection!
This cute little Italian restaurant is pretty awesome in a quiet little neighborhood. The staff was super nice and made the vibe feel like a chill place to hangout and enjoy your meal. I got the cacio e pepe which was great. The fresh cracked pepper and the pasta was very fresh and more al dente the way I liked it. This place takes cash only so make sure you have some on you to pay.
Cash only and a small place - there’s only 5 tables inside. One of the most genuine Italian restaurants I’ve been to. They perfectly prepared the clams so they didn’t have sand in them which is pretty hard to do. Everything was great. Got hot chocolate to go. Seems like they make a lot of things from scratch. Update: I come here all the time still and my favorite thing to order is the spaghetti and meatballs. The tiramisu is really good too. They offer sparkling water at a really cheap cost.
My friend and I can’t stop raving about this place! We adored the food, the service, the atmosphere - I’m already thinking about going back. You could tell they cooked everything with love. I got the linguine pescatora and while they were out of clams, they included extra mussels instead. Regardless, the dish was immaculately flavorful! There isn’t much seating indoors, but I would say it made the experience extra special because we got lucky and were seated immediately (we got there shortly after 1 on a Sunday). Shout out for the warm, friendly and attentive service. This restaurant is truly the whole package (but just a heads up, it is a cash only establishment.)
As shown in the photos we got the 1)Gricia 2)Veal tortellini 3)mussels in marinara sauce 4)sautéed artichokes 5) last but not least tiramisu !!! Everything blew us away. The flavors were so rich and perfectly balanced. I’m excited to go back and try more things items on the menu. I commuted from Queens and waited about an hour to be seated. It was definitely worth it. I’d do it all over. Lillo and Lisa are very welcoming and friendly! Already planning my next visit.
What a hidden delight. Even though it’s a cash only location, as well as having only seating for 12, it’s worth the wait. They don’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait as you look through the window and watch the delectable meals come out of their kitchen. Happy I read the reviews that brought me here. A very happy patron!
Literally everything about our meal here was perfect. The service was amazing, and I am still dreaming about the incredible lemon ravioli. We got three different pastas to split between the two of us (we couldn't decide on just two!), and we walked away with delicious leftovers to enjoy later. We also got the strawberry tiramisu to-go, and it was one of the best desserts I've ever had.
Cash only! 4 tables, super cute spot that has raving reviews. I showed up around 2:30 for a late lunch. The menu was actually pretty big surprisingly but I knew I wanted a salad and a creamy pasta. I decided on the Regina salad, a tuna and bean salad and the lobster ravioli. I got sparkling water with lemon. I loved the thick balsamic on the salad. Fresh and simple with a clearly good olive oil. The lobster ravioli was INCREDIBLE. Bury me in the pink sauce. The prices here are awesome! The dishes come with some bread to sop up the sauce.
This place is fantastic. The food reminds me of my fathers cooking, who is also has a small italian restaurant. The flavors blend together and the pasta is great quality. You just walk in and grab a seat. I highly recommend everyone try Lillo. Although Id love to keep it a hidden gem, id deserves all the hype, especially with its prices. We got the Fettucine with Speck and Carciofi and the Fettucine with Speck and Zucchine. Update march 15, 2024: Still love it here. Tried the Amatriciana this time and it was great. The tiramisu is so fluffy and delicious. Really love how cozy and no-frills it is here

Just like an Italy, where you can walk into a nameless storefront and have one of the best meals of your life, Lillo delivers proper and classic dishes that make you feel like you're being fed by a Nonna. His forte are the Roman pastas, and his desserts, as he hails from Rome and is an accomplished baker and chef. Even his sandwiches are second to none. Every meal here is a feel-good experience.
