Fat Doughnut Brooklyn Reviews
I love this spot. It’s by far the best donut you can get in town. I always go for the maple glaze and it never disappoints. Is it a bit messy? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. A thousand times yes. Their coffee isn’t bad either! And it’s nice that they provide some seating and tables. I didn’t visit for most of winter and it looks like they’ve added new donuts! I’m excited to try them all.
Was introduced to this place by a friend of mine. Nice internet cafe, food is good and there is an assortment of beverages that is sure to please everyone. Come here get work done, pick up breakfast and even pow wow with friends its the place. Try it. If you are there the coconut donuts are divine.
2025 update: Been coming here for 2 years and have eaten an estimated 40 maple glazed donuts, it's one of the best donuts in NY. They modernized the shop and have an incredible choco chip cookie now. The coffee is their only weakness--I drink mine black and want more complexity. -- What to get--coconut donut and an iced coffee for ~$7. How it turned out: small batched, old fashioned donuts with a good chew. Generous size and very satisfying. I do feel a little guilty eating these, wish they were a bit smaller so I could try a variety.
Ordered a maple donut. I like the consistency, is not doughy. Enough crisp on the outer part and chewy on the inside. The maple scent is just right gives a compliment to the doughnut, not too sweet and enough glance on top. The atmosphere is great to sit have a coffee and work remotely. Staffs are friendly and give good recommendations based on your taste. Highly recommend to visit!!!
It’s a small calm, mom and pop kind of vibe to it. Very chill laid-back. The food was amazing. The chicken sandwich phenomenal, and the coleslaw was crispy. Just how I like it. The donuts dumb was good. I started eating before I even got to take a picture. lol .. FAT DOUGHNUT I’m coming back lol .
Owner is such a sweetheart. I had an oatmilk latte and my daughter had an oatmilk hot chocolate on the first visit with a cinnamon roll and maple glazed donut. Second visit had a walnut glazed twisty thing, oreo cookie donut and original glazed (all pictured). Each donut had a nice crispy outside and a soft inside. They are pretty big too so ideal for sharing OR having your own sweet tooth indulged. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Bedstuy!
I didn't know about this place until we saw it walking by one day with our dog. Now we go and grab some cinnamon rolls, cinnamon sugar donuts, and a small cup of fresh pot coffee every chance we get. Can't wait to try their muffins and cakes too! And will also say their maple glazed donuts are fantastic as well :)
Really appreciate having a donut shop in the neighborhood, especially with a mom and pop atmosphere. I tried the pink frosted sprinkle, the cookies and cream, the frutti pebble and the original glazed donuts. I think it’s a better idea to get something like the maple glazed donut that many of the reviews seem to feel positively toward. The donuts are on the bready side so having a stronger flavor like maple makes a lot of sense. The flavors I tried felt like not enough flavor for so much donut. The layer of glaze/ frosting is thin so these donuts lend themselves well for dunking into coffee. Unfortunately bready donuts are not my preferred type. Would come back to try the actual food menu. I like that they have board games at the tables.
In the past my Husband and I would go for their Buttermilk pancakes. But on Saturday we found out they no longer do Buttermilk pancakes only Buttermilk waffles. So we decided to try them. The wait was long and when it finally came the waffles were warm , flavorless and hard to slice with the plastic utensils. The best part of this breakfast was the coffee, tea, sausage and eggs. I don't think we will have breakfast there anymore.
luckily they had connect 4 to distract that waited an hour for food. Cajun chicken and waffle jus plain chicken no seasoning. Mid. Waffle was like plastic and fake maple syrup for that price is crazy. Coffee was good thou and they gave free donuts but if u know gonna take that long its common courtesy to let know in advance. Definitely won’t be going bak had wanted to try for. Awhile. Staff was nice thou dont get it twisted
