Furman's Coffee Brooklyn Reviews
🫓🥑The arepa was really yummy. It comes with jalapeño in the pico de gallo, but I absolutely hate spicy food and this wasn’t even a bit spicy. It actually added a nice freshness and flavor without any heat at all. If you’re sensitive to spice, you can always ask for no jalapeños just to be safe. The arepa itself was soft, warm, and perfectly filled, super satisfying and comforting with a great mix of textures and flavors. 🧇🍓🥥🫐The waffle had a very noticeable coconut taste, definitely on the heavier side, but I didn’t mind it because it made it feel unique. The fresh berries on top were amazing and really balanced out the richness. My boyfriend and I always taste each other’s dishes, and both plates were delicious in their own ways. It felt like a mini brunch tasting session. 🎃The pumpkin spice latte was another highlight. It wasn’t overly sweet, more like a cappuccino with a light touch of pumpkin spice, which I actually loved. It felt cozy and balanced instead of sugary, which is hard to find sometimes. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Most of them are Hispanic, which I loved, and I even ordered in Spanish. They were so kind and warm. You can tell they take pride in what they do and genuinely care about the guests. The whole vibe of the place was relaxed and inviting, perfect for a slow weekend morning or a casual brunch date. 🔮I also loved the witchy Halloween decor. It added such a fun and cozy touch to the atmosphere and made the whole place feel even more charming and festive. Overall, everything was delicious and thoughtfully made. Great portions, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. I’d definitely come back again to try more of the menu, especially that arepa.
Love this spot! It's so cozy, the coffee is great, and I always love the music they play. I've been going to this place (almost) every day since I moved here and I love it. The arepas, delicious. The customer service, excellent. The lattes, devine - Thanks Leslie! Right off the A train, definitely worth a stop.
This is a terrific café for working on a laptop. The staff is super friendly and comfortable with laptops, it doesn’t get too crowded, and it’s a cozy space with plenty of drinks and food to keep you going. There’s a LinkNYC WiFi terminal right outside you can use for high-speed WiFi (I recommend sitting near the window). Make sure to order and tip generously if you are going to stay for a while working! I really like their arepas.
Jackie was so patient and helpful when I had to pay using a version of Google pay that wasn't working w my old phone (she was well versed with technology) when I had walked 40 min and forgot my wallet. The coffee was excellent too!
I just love this place. The vibes are good! Truly the best breakfast burrito that I ever get the chance to have. It contains sweet plantains which is tasty as heck and the other dishes I’d recommend include both the savory and sweet waffles as well as the grilled cheese. Staff is also super cool. I’ve gotten some free drinks here and there just from hanging around when they’ve made extra. The backyard is cozy and beautiful, and the coffee is very good. One of my favorite cold brews for sure. I have come here for coffee dates, lunch hangs, or to sit with my computer and drink coffee and do work. There are several seats with outlets accessible. And there *is* WiFi although sometimes it doesn’t work for me and I use a hotspot. The big window out to Nostrand is cute and provides a lot of light and a good place to sit. They have a a great selection of non coffee beverages too which I appreciate. I like the music they play and it smells great in here too 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What a delightful little spot! The staff is warm and kind and the prices are reasonable. The food is DELICIOUS and such cute presentation and attention to detail. Feels very gourmet. The eggs were cooked to PERFECTION. Light & fluffy, soft, folded like a warm blanket with crisp bacon and the most gooey globs of tasty cheese oozing out of the sides of a delicious bun. The aioli sauce was also very yum! And the avocado toast... bread was perfectly toasted with a nice, thick, hearty consistency. Topped with Greek yogurt, masked avocado, a bit of salmon, scallions & dill. So satisfying!!!! Highly recommend coming here for delicious food and a quiet moment in a busy city that will put a smile on your face and in your belly.
Furmans Coffee in Brooklyn is a hidden gem that I couldn't resist driving from NJ to experience, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with friendly staff to match. The coffee was exceptional, boasting a rich and robust flavor that left me craving more. Their baked goods were equally delightful, making it a perfect pairing for my morning coffee. Overall, Furmans Coffee is a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts, and the journey from NJ was absolutely worth it.
When they’re early morning when they first opened up to grab something before I went for a hike. The workers were having breakfast in right away. They got up to make food for me. I felt bad. But would definitely go back again. The sandwich was delicious.
Opens early on a weekend! Great to have a decent coffee shop open at 7am. Lovely staff, cosy spot, made to order breakfast, good collection of pastries.
We stopped by this coffee shop on a Friday afternoon around 3 p.m. to chill and get some work done. The space isn’t huge, so tables fill up quickly, but I was lucky to snag one of the last open spots. If you’re planning to settle in with a laptop, I’d recommend coming earlier to secure a seat. I ordered an iced mocha and absolutely loved it—the coffee quality was excellent and the sweetness perfectly balanced, which is saying something because I’m usually pretty picky. I’ve heard great things about their breakfast menu as well, so I’m looking forward to coming back to try it next time. The only downside was the phone reception in the back of the shop. I use AT&T and had a very weak signal, which made tethering a hotspot difficult. They do have their own Wi-Fi, but I typically prefer using my own network. Overall, it’s a cozy, chill spot with friendly baristas and a great atmosphere for working or relaxing. Highly recommended for both coffee lovers and remote workers.
coffee is not bad but today i was charged $12 for a winter drink that tasted like actual barf, the prices are insane if you’re thinking of getting anything other than a black coffee
Woman behind the counter was nice but I asked for bacon and was charged for it but didn’t receive it. My chai was passable but not great For almost $20 I’d expect more. Food is just okay. Pretty disappointed though.. I was the only customer in there.. you’d think they could get a simple bacon egg and cheese
This place used to be amazing when Salvador was around. After they fired him they have had quite the rotation of staff. The ones who are seeming to stick are unbearably slow. Everyone who seems to need more training is also training someone else, not great. On top of the long wait times my simple orders of a vanilla oat latte taste completely different.
Extremely loud for a cafe. It's pretty distracting. I asked if it was possible to turn down the music a bit and was ignored. Ive come here a few times and have gotten distasteful attitude from the ladies behind the counter each time. I won't be coming back after tonight. Even though the coffee is tasty!
Major downgrade recently. I’ve been coming here for awhile but the quality of the espresso drinks have gone down significantly the last month or so. The coffee now tastes burnt, and they cannot accommodate for half-caf anymore. The food was never amazing. The breakfast burrito and the breakfast tacos both fall apart from having the wrong balance of ingredients. The pastries are often stale and are usually grocery quality. An update: once again they could not do half-caf. The one employee this morning could not speak English well. I was the only customer in at the time and she made my drink hot instead of iced- I gently asked for it iced and she responded with an exasperated “Iced?” And looked visibly displeased. I felt bad after this interaction and will likely never return.
