They delivered within 20 minutes of ordering! Food is great, generous portions for reasonable prices. I'm upset that I waited so long to finally order from them.

Delicious - a really great location where everyone can find something they like, even if they are not vegan or vegetarian. A really great option for loved ones with dietary restrictions - they will follow requests very cautiously, especially if you identify food allergies.

Anytime I'm in Brooklyn, I order from THIS place. Everything vegan, everything CONSISTENT, and DELICIOUS! Except their soy vegan ice cream. Not a fan. Tastes like a tootsie roll lol not bad but not great either lol

Stir fried kimchee udon was good. I was hungry enough and it was tasty enough that I ate the whole plate in one sitting and it’s a large serving. I would get it again.

Thai basil fried rice was gois and the dish was perfect. The price is kinda higb because they make the dish in such a fancy. Remember this is a vegetable house so they wont be that much meat. I like how they put avocado in dishes.

A bit pricey but delicious food. Ordered the salt & pepper fried king oysterm mushroom and was so satisfying. Would be great for this place to go officially fully vegan someday.

Got my order within 11 minutes of ordering. Food arrived fresh, hot and delicious as always. Love this vegan spot in the heart of a meat dominant neighborhood. Thanks for existing.

The food is so good. Can you believe that it's vegan. For the person who like meat, but don't want to eat animals, I highly suggest this place. Best Vegan Food, with the taste of real meat, but guess what no meat. How you like me now, BAM!

I gotta be honest, I'm not vegan and it took me 18 months of ordering from this place on the regular before I realized the food I was eating was vegan. The food is phenomenal.

Best vegan Chinese food in Brooklyn .... and I mean it ... it is so hard to do take out vegan in certain parts of Brooklyn. The options are AMAZING, the vegan ribs are to die for. VERY pleased!

Not a vegetarian but love food from this place. Delivery is prompt and food is always fresh. Fried foods are even crispy... this restaurant surely knows the tricks to giving costumers great food.

The food is really good BUT!! They need to make the place and sitting better and clean. Plus, being nice to customers is very important and a SMILE would also be greatly appreciated.

Really like their drunken noodles. Some of the best I tried in NYC. The rest of the menu is also pretty good, but this one is a standout.

Order from this place for some quiet time. Love it. Great and delicious food. Highly recommend it

Fast delivery. The food is delicious, very well-seasoned. Prices are reasonable given the large portions; I always have leftovers from the mains the next day. If you like spicy food I strongly recommend the Chungking Spicy Soy Protein--it's basically a veganized szechuan chicken dish with both spicy and numbing peppers. Really above expectations. Thanks Ginger House!

As others have noted it's mainly a takeout establishment. This being said their delivery is excellent and timely - they have a great selection of food.

I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT! The soups are so good! Especially the Udon Noodle Soup and Vietnamese Noodle Soup. It's amazing The place isn't fancy, but the food sure is! The fried kimchi (spelling) udon. It's so tasty tasty! I love this place, and it's so close to my apartment. I'd like to eat more at this place, and if I were rich enough to eat out all the time, I'd eat here for every meal! My recommendations: -Fried Kimchi Udon -Vietnamese/Udon Noodle soups -Tofu Nugget appetizer -Pineapple fried rice Amazing stuff! We need more vegan-friendly places to eat! Please support them.

Truly the definition of a hole in the wall but this is the cutest place with some of the best food and an incredible value for your money on the portion sizing.

I have been ordering here for a year and the food never disappoints. Always so much flavor and the food presentation is perfect. One of the best vegan Asian restaurants to go to. And the food is done quickly and the service is so kind.

[This is only for delivery] I've ordered from Ginger House many times and everything I've ever gotten -- curries, stir fry entrees, spring rolls, cilantro tofu, even tried the general tso's tofu -- has been delicious. They get such good texture on their soy protein and seitan. I'm so happy they're in the area!

J

This place was perfect! I felt stranded before I found it. Veganism is becoming more and more popular (luckily) but there are still times when a vegan feels hopeless... if it wasn't for this gem of a restaurant I would have been in one of those situations. The young lady behind the counter was very sweet and kind. The restaurant was clean and respectable for a small establishment and the food was EXCELLENT. Very, very happy and I'm adding it to my list of favorites here on Google maps. I got a superb lunch special: miso soup, pepper steak with broccoli, brown rice and a delicious egg roll for about $8 with tax. They didn't skimp on anything and I was happily surprised.

Their ‘drunken noodles’ hit the spot, they definitely made them delicious. I’m not a fan of drunken noodles elsewhere, but Ginger House nailed it. Also their General Tao’s was good. I would order again.

Dined here many times. High quality vegan food with lots of fresh vegetables and fruits. Never had a dish we didn't like. Portions are huge. We will get three meals each out of this. We're stuffed! Ordered the mango lassi, bbq seitan sticks in a bed of salad, ginger dressing salad, coconut rice, pad see ew, hot and sour soup and mango soy protein.

D
Dr. Elicia Rosen-Fox

Yummy, special orders don't upset them! Fresh and delicious. I go out of my way for pick up because they are not in my neighborhood, and it is worth it. I like the summer rolls, steamed greens, pumpkin, and all of the soy protein dishes. You got to try, you won't be sorry!

I order from here pretty frequently, they are so consistent in taste, really satiating portions, and my delivery always comes quicker than expected. Typically, I order the pad thai (can last 2 as meals) or the malaysian curry stew and I test other menu items frequently. Really flavorful from ingredients, not just salt and tastes fresh. Absolutely one of my favorite places in Brooklyn! 10/10.

Great tasting vegan restaurant! I had a wonderful experience ordering from Ginger House. Their crispy soy protein nuggets with bbq sauce were a great starter. My main course were the drunken noodles. The flavors of the dish were spot on. We also ordered the chocolate cake which was also a great addition. Will definitely order from this restaurant again, and definitely recommend.

Honestly some of the best vegan food! I don’t think I’ve ever had a dish from here I didn’t love! My favorites are their organic tofu teriyaki, drunken noodles, and death by chocolate cake! Probably best vegan cake I’ve ever had!

The most magical thing in my life happened 2 months ago when Ginger House added NEW! Vegan Sushi to their already wonderful menu. Then I went out of town for a few weeks only to return to a menu without vegan sushi. I’ve been in a deep depressive hole ever since. And yes, it’s THAT good. Please bring back the sushi. We’ll order it every day don’t worry about your margins just bring it back!!

Little hole in the wall spot but food is great & very affordable for the amount you get. My go to is the basil soy protein. Their soy protein to veggie ratio is perfect. I’m able to get 3 meals out of one container.

I got take in and it was just as I had expected, very fast and delicious. The carrot cake dessert was a plus as I am vegan and that's my favourite cake. Yum. Pad Thai always satisfies and I like dumplings so much that I got spinach wanton soup as well a the steamed vegetable dumplings. A feast for a reasonable expense and always a pleasure at the pick up point. Thank you!

Do yourself a favor and have a meal here. You’re not going to get a high end dining experience, but if you’re down for no nonsense, speedy service with reasonably priced, outstandingly delicious food with large portions, you will not be disappointed. I would recommend the curry samosas, curry noodle soup, pumpkin soup, and the soy cutlet platter with black bean sauce.

As a native New Yorker, I know what I am saying when it comes to the best plant based pad thai around. GH is consistent, generous with portion and flavors, and over all very very fresh food at an affordable price. I am so happy to share this place with friends and family, it’s always a crowd favorite for ordering in. I just can’t compliment this place enough. A must try.

First time trying this place and it absolutely lives up to it's popularity. I ordered the pad see ew, summer rolls and tom yum soup. My favorite of the 3 was the pad see ew it is INCREDIBLE I'd recommend it to anyone!! The soy protein is the best I've ever had period takeout or frozen. It tastes delicious ane very pork-like and has me so excited to come back and try their orange seitan or general tsos soy protein next. I've never had better meat substitutes and this is my fav!! The summer rolls were exactly as pictured and fresh and fragrant with a hoison style sauce and the tom yum soup had big chunks of tomato and mushroom and a great citrus flavor. The food was prepared quickly, packaged great, and was priced fairly. I can't wait to try more dishes thank you!

Great Asian vegan place. Huge portions and super tasty main dishes. The miso soup I got accompanying my meal was so-so and served in plastic but the main course was so good, I'd definitely come back!

Quality, speed, quantity - what more can you ask for? Barely was able to snap this picture before devouring the noodles. I had leftovers for the next day and typically spicy noodle fashion, they were even better then! My husband ordered two dishes and engorged himself because the meal was just that good. We'll be back!

Ordered delivery and the food arrived was warm. They arrived sooner than expected so that’s a plus. The food was tasty and it was decent amount (at least for me). I ordered their lunch special teriyaki seitan which came with snow peas. I’m not a fan of snow peas, but they made it crispy. The lunch special comes with a spring roll or a salad or miso soup. It’s a great deal for vegan food. I like their scallion pancakes, they give you just enough. Overall, they get 5 stars for taste and quality. They’re even better than my go-to Asian vegan spot in Manhattan. I would definitely recommend them.

I came here for the first time last week because my usual spot No. 1 was closed yet again and on a Monday. I must say though, I was glad that they were closed otherwise I probably wouldn't have tried this great little place for takeout. Don't be fooled by it being vegetarian. The food here is really good and extremely flavorful. I got the General Tsos Tofu Main Course which comes with a Miso soup and I was instantly hooked. I came back again on the weekend (No. 1 was closed again) and had the Drunken Noodles which was just as great. This place will continue to get my business. I can't wait to try something else off the menu.

Small place. Really yummy food. Good place to try vegetarian (mock) meats. Chicken drunken noodles and Basil duck were really awesome. Qualify of food is really nice. The behavior of the staff (Michelle) was polite and helpful. 3-4 min walk from Ditmus station F train.

Small place that does mostly take out. I had a lunch special that was good. I would go back multiple time to sample different things on the menu.

The food here is good people, can't deny it. I think it is much better than Zen vegetarian on Flatbush Avenue. Ginger house has more flavor and complexity in their sauces and MUCH less grease. Their sauces don't taste like it comes out of a pre-bought package like most Chinese fast food does. One caveat is that their dining atmosphere is less than ideal. It seems that the main focus of their business is delivery which is fine, of course. But if you're planning to go here and have a sit-down meal just be forewarned that there is a definite lack in ambience. I went here on a cold winter's day after I got out of work. I was starving and I was really looking forward to having a delicious vegan meal. When I entered the establishment there was only one table that was available. The others had helmets and various delivery related paraphernalia strewn about them. There were also a couple of employees enjoying their food at two of the tables. I sat down at the one available table and waited for someone to come take my order. One of the employees that was eating his soup seated behind me, was slurping his soup and burping loudly. Definitely off putting for me but I heard that slurping and burping is the norm in East Asia so can't hate too much on this point. A young lady eventually came and took my order and she was quite nice. As I waited for my food it slowly started to dawn on me that my fingers were becoming numb. I found this to be usual and begin to wonder what was happening to me. Then I realized that the freaking heat was not on in the restaurant! The next time the young lady came over to me I asked her if there was something wrong with the heat. She replied that the heat was broken. I believed her at the time but now looking over some of the other reviews here, I realize that this must be a money-saving strategy on their part. I suppose because they don't have a lot of dine-in customers they keep the heat off or very low to save money. I did notice that the heat came on towards the end of my meal so I imagine they must have turned it up a little bit. I did return here in the spring but I knew what to expect so I forewarned my friends not to expect much in terms of ambiance. But decidedly between two vegans and one omnivore, we found the food to be delicious.

I was working nearby Ditmas train station and realized that food choices were extremely limited but just a few short blocks I stumbled onto to this place. The restuarant has zero ambience and no air conditioning(it was 84 degrees when I went). The lady who took my order was not very pleasant or welcoming. I ordered smoked teriyaki seitan. It was a nice size portion which came with rice and a choice of soup or salad. I chose brown rice and soup. The seitan was delicious and perfectly cooked. The brown rice was ok as well. Their were chickpeas in my rice (not sure if that was an accident as it was not listed). I didn't care for the soup but it was a nice portion size. Overall the food was good and filling.

Super delicious! And they deliver! The prices are a bit higher than I'd want, but the food is crazy good. I've tried nearly all the soy dishes and they can be very addictive! The flavored are so good.

I only give this place 4 stars because I haven't actually been there to eat, but I have food delivered from them ALL the time. They've got a great selection of food (including dessert), and you don't have to feel guilty because it's all vegetarian/vegan friendly, and tasty. I remember the first time I ordered from them, when I saw and tasted the food I thought it was meat, and so I called the restaurant. It wasn't meat, it was tofu that tasted like meat, soooo delicious. The delivery is always on time (if not about 5 mins earlier), and the delivery man always smiles when handing me my food. It's a small gesture, but it means a lot. My go-to things to order are the pad thai, avocado salad, and the Lychee sorbet.

The food here is SO GOOD, but its apparent that they do not want ro be a sit down restaurant. I traveled well out of my way just to have an experience after.trying and loving them on uber eats. Vegan Chinese? Yes please!!!! I felt like I walked into their dirty home. Water all over the floor, thungs and water on every table. The only clean one had children very loudly watching tv. I could peer into the kitchen and see that is was spotless from my pov and decided to stay and order, since I had came all that way on a local train. I waited and none of them turned around in the kitchen. I sent the children in to let them know they had a customer. I stood in the middle of the room to wait for my food bc WHERE COULD I go?! Everything had random stuff on it. I will continue to eat here, but I'll stick to uber with this one.

Its my go to restaurant on grubhub. They have lots of options for vegetarians/vegans. I love their spring rolls, veggie dumplings, and pad Thai. The only thing is I'm not sure if they use fish in their tom yum soup.

The first time I tried the food (sweet and soy protein and noodles) from here it was not impressed. But when I went again I got the smoke teriyaki seitan and loved. It's like a couple of dollars more than the other places but the food is great. They need to work on cleaning the place though not suitable for sitting down. I suggest take out.

I FREAKING LOVE THIS PLACE FOR THE FRENCH FRIES & TANGY SAUCE!!!!!!!!! & the pan fried samosas sooooooo good!!!! Everytime I'm in Brooklyn I try my best to get a order of fries & samosas. However I've had the pad Thai wasn't a fan but I do like the thai basil fried rice. Not gonna lie the overall restaurant appearance could definitely use some remodeling.

Ginger House seems more set up for takeout than dine in. Went by for dinner with a friend not knowing how small this place is. This is an FYI, not a criticism! They have one booth that seats 4-6 persons and a table for two. (The booth was occupied by the owner’s very cute kids.) The menu is quite large and everything we ordered was very tasty. I got the Lemongrass Soy Protein which came with brown rice and very flavourful miso soup, and the Salt and Pepper King Oyster Mushroom Fritters. Both tasty and generous portions. My friend got the Stir Fried Udon and Barbeque Vegan Ribs, also very good. I definitely recommend the food here. Something to note is that they serve the food in proper dishes but use disposable plastic cups and utensils. The rice is served in disposable cardboard tubs. I’d recommend bringing your own cups and utensils if dining in, and requesting no utensils at the very least when ordering takeout or delivery. Please consider that these items will be around polluting the planet for centuries in return for a few minutes of convenience. We can’t afford to consume like this. Also, Ginger House isn’t a vegan business as they serve dairy ice cream and use cow’s milk for beverages. Their other food is animal-free. Please skip the dairy items. Look into what the dairy industry does to the animals and planet, and the pandemic risk it poses, to understand why the dairy industry has no place in our world.

I recently visited Ginger House, a restaurant I've been to before. The experience was good, but I must say it felt a bit different this time. The first visit was a solid 10, but this time, I have to rate it lower. I ordered the vegan pork fried rice with the general tso chicken and the ribs. Unfortunately, the rice had too much broccoli, and my order was incorrect—I was supposed to get two rice portions, but I only received one. This was disappointing, especially considering I traveled from New Jersey. If you're vegan and looking for a good Asian Chinese food spot, Ginger House is worth checking out. Despite my experience, I'll give them an 8 for the food; it was still good but not as exceptional as before. Constructive criticism helps restaurants improve, so I want to highlight the positives. The staff were very nice, polite, and great listeners. They're helpful, especially if you're a first-time visitor, guiding you on what to order or suggesting nostalgic dishes from your pre-vegan days. Remember to tell them Vegan Kingzz sent you. Have a wonderful time!

This is primarily a takeout restaurant. That’s why I can’t give it five stars on the atmosphere, but as for the food. I had the drunken noodles which was fantastic had the right amount of flavor and the noodles were cooked just right. The Seitan rice was perfect as well a great substitute for the traditional pork fried rice….

Priti R
Priti R

Drunken noodles were SO good but I think overall this place doesn't add a ton of veggies to their dishes. Also got the tom yum and it only came with tomatoes and a few mushrooms and what I believe is tofu? Really nothing else, quite disappointing. I'd give this place another try though.

S
Samuel Pascal

I would give it 5 stars because the general tso protein was really good. However, my girlfriend had pretty bad food poisoning due to the pad Thai. She is throwing up a lot.

I ordered during covid19. Organic tofu teriyaki, the tofu was soo tough. It must have been left out for a couple days. I didn't know tofu could get so rubbery. The flavor of the sauce was great with the brown rice. The raspberry white chocolate cheesecake very delicious. My nonvegan family members loved it also. The delivery man was cautious and nice. Be safe Enjoy

M

They really cater to take out almost exclusively. They were far different in that regard when they first opened. They don't keep the restaurant climate controlled or lit for in house dining. The food is very good, but they need to improve the in house experience back to the way it was when they first opened.

B
Billy T.

This place used to be really good, but starting earlier this year they got into the habit of watering down their main dishes - for instance if you order the General Tso's Tofu it comes with like a cup of water in the plate - and the dishes are less flavorful. They revamped the menu I guess and it's just not for me. Their starters, sides, and noodle/rice dishes are good, however. I reccomend the stir-fried ramen, soy nuggets with BBQ sauce, fresh spring rolls, pumpkin slices, and japchae.

They were very quick with food preparation, but the taste was terrible. This was my 3rd purchase. Bought pad thai and vegan ribs, both were very very sweet .

I order here a lot without issue online and earlier tonight I decided to come here in person and I ordered a big meal to go and I even circled the items I wanted on the menu as well. There was one item that I didn't order and I had to go back. The female who took my order asked what happened and I let her know that I got something I didn't ordered. Instead of apologizing for her mistake, she tried to go back and forth with me and I had to tell her that she was incorrect, misheard what I said and that I know what I ordered. And to prove my point further and make her feel dumb I even showed and read to her the items I circled in the menu as well. Customer service should be improved. The seitan skewers had too much sauce in it and I found a hair in the seitan with chinese broccoli meal. Overall I won't be ordering here again.

Ordered through Doordash. Was excited to try this place since everything is vegetarian but it was mediocre at best. Got the Pumpkin Tempura app but they forgot the bbq dipping sauce and the tempura breading was wayyy too thick and doughy. The Curry Noodle Soup was super spicy, vegetables were hardly cooked and it only had a few pieces of tofu. The Pineapple Ham Fried Rice was okay, pretty boring flavor-wise and again, only a few pieces of vegan ham. Maybe they were just having an off night? Idk but I probably won’t order again after that experience.

The pictures showing this to be a full-service restaurant are totally outdated, as they now have boxes of junk piled around and clearly don't want you to come in to sit down. I'm really disappointed to have gone out of my way to come here...

I ordered food from this restaurant via Uber Eats. I wasn't terribly disappointed with the good but then I went into the restaurant to pick up and was shocked at how dirty and dim the place is. And then, the cashier was the nastiest, rudest person I've come in contact with in the longest time. I couldn't tell if she treated me the way she did because she's just a nasty person or because I'm black.

I ordered a vegan meal (at least I thought it was) and 3 waiters assured me that it's really vegan because I also explained that I am not only vegan but also allergic to egg. I guess the meal itself didnt have egg in it but they must have been using egg in the pan from the meal they prepared before. In my eyes it is very irresponsible that this happened to me as I felt so bad after the meal and couldnt sleep all night because of strong stomach pain and as it can be really dangerous for my health. One of the waiters (a guy) also didnt know about anything on the card and seemed to be without any Motivation. I definitely do not recommend this place if you are vegan or have allergies, and to all the others: my Boyfriend at first didnt get the meal he ordered and as the right one came he said it didnt taste good.

This restaurant has something against small orders. They will make your snack horrible (non-edible) if you just order a quick snack or side dish for takeout. The chef will have an oil spree with your snack so it comes out like plastic. Complete bias against customers. We were frequent customers for years, just goes totally wrong with small orders, but no more and never again. They deserve zero stars for service and hospitality.

Ordered dinner and a lemonade. Noticed a short black strand of hair in my lemonade. Upon further inspection there were over 10 strands of hair in the lemonade.

There is so much wrong with this place I don't even know where to start! First off, I am vegan and I go out of my way to support vegan places. But this place isn't really vegan because the first time I went there a few weeks ago, I saw a bottle of non vegan oyster sauce on the counter. When I asked, the waitress let me know that the cooks prepare animal derived food for themselves presumably with the same pots/pans/utensils they provide for their customers. This makes issues such as cross contamination very likely...and THIS may explain why I have a nasty stomach bug today because it is almost impossible to contaminate foods if you are cooking 100% vegan. The place itself is extremely dirty and uninviting. All the tables are dirty with no silverware or napkins on them. Plus there was no soap, paper towels in the bathroom and the toilet paper was on the floor soaking up the nastiness there. Beyond disgusting! It is clear that these folks stopped caring about their customers a long time ago. The food is bland too. I really hope this place closes-I hate to say that but this place is awful.

Ginger house used to be my favorite restaurant. The past 3 orders (I kept ordering because I was hoping it was just a fluke) have been so bad I couldn't eat the food. Everything was super greasy, salty, and just tasted bad. DRASTIC DROP IN QUALITY in the last 3 months. So sad because I loved this place.

I ordered on Grubhub. I ode the crispy soy nugget and the veggie dumpling. Both were disgusting
