Liar Liar Brooklyn Reviews
I made the trek from Manhattan to try out Liar Liar. It definitely didn't disappoint. The food was beyond spectacular and the service was great. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles, they were the best I've ever had. The space itself is beautiful as well. A lot of original exposed brick and creative decorating that make you feel right at home. This place was built and designed with love, you feel it the second you walk in.
Absolutely loved this neighborhood gem in Brooklyn. We sat at the bar and the bartender was so nice. We had their amazing cheese burgers with fries, everything was excellent including the atmosphere. The perfect place to hang out in Brooklyn for a casual meal or drinks.
A new favorite; loved everything from the food, service, and vibe. The place is quite spacious with some booth seating at the front and high tops at the back; there’s also a bar and some standing room. The Jambon Beurre plate was delicious and would be great to share, but I thoroughly enjoyed it all on my own; the butter is sweet, but works nicely with the salted radishes and ham. The fried chicken sandwich is also delicious, covered in a glaze. There may only be one dessert on the menu, but it’s fantastic… the chocolate has a touch of salt and balances well with the whipped cream.
Liar Liar is a great new natural wine bar with character, local vibes, and a small yet underrated dinner menu. We chatted with the bartender for the first few minutes, who recommended some of their great French wines and shared the bar’s history. It’s clear the team put their heart into this remodel from the former bones of Victor, which closed in 2024. The space has a bold new design including updated booths, bar, and table seating that feels native to the neighborhood. We had the burger and Caesar salad which were both great value for price, but the real sleeper hits were the orange wine and fried chicken sandwich. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Will be back for the steak frites soon.
New wine bar with delicious food! Went with a group of friends last night and we all get the steak frites and it was unreal! Great service, cool and cozy atmosphere, and fantastic food. Can’t wait to visit again!
Okay I’m still dreaming about the steak and the glass of red wine that I got. And I don’t even eat red meat usually. Vibes out of this world. Staff is so nice. Gabi one of the owners served us and she was so knowledgeable about wines helping me pick out a perfect pair for my food. Cute spot for a first date or to yap with the girls. Definitely will be back soon.
Cute new wine bar just opened in gowanus! great selection of drinks and staff is super friendly too. came on a friday night and it was a great cozy vibe to start the weekend

Awesome new spot. Ordered the Steak Frites and burger. Great atmosphere!
Only a couple of blocks from home, we come here all the time—it’s super versatile, whether for an easy weeknight meal or date night. Our go-to spot
We went with a group of girls on a friday night and it did not disappoint! We had three bottles of really great wine. The fries and broccolini were delicious!
Had a super pleasant experience here. Nice neighborhood vibe, simple but interesting food menu. Doesn't feel like it's trying to be so upscale like some of the wine bars these days. Prices were reasonable and both the broccolini and fried chicken sandwich were great. My only feedback is I think the slaw on the chicken sandwich was a little overpowering. It's fairly sweet and the amount of slaw partially limited my ability to taste the fried chicken (which I know had great taste)
I drank bottles of wine. An amazing experience and location. They've cornered the market for that area in Brooklyn. You no longer have to travel far for an amazing pairing of wine with fine dining. You won't go wrong by bringing a friend to impress them with your choice of fantastic food and wine restaurants in Brooklyn.
Wasn’t a huge fan of the wine glass selections BUT the martinis and food was incredible. We had the steak frites and chicken burger, followed by their chocolate mousse desert - all exceptionally delicious. Price was very reasonable. Atmosphere is great and would highly recommend a visit.
Always a fun time- good simple menu with decent prices and delicious cocktails and expansive wine list! Love when they have a dj going some nights as well

Great vibes and space, great vinyl collection, outstanding burger and fries. Outstanding addition to Gowanus

Such a lovely space! Amazing burger, olives, and cocktails (the millionaire and 50/50 martini were perfect). Mateo and everyone working were welcoming and attentive! They also opened up their back room with plenty of extra seating.
Cozy spot with a relaxed atmosphere and a solid cocktail menu. It’s a good choice for a casual night out with friends or a low-key date.

Staff and atmosphere is fine. Nearly $20/glass of wine on average in Brooklyn is a bit ridiculous and overpriced. $50+ bill all in with 2 glasses of wine and no food… The selection is well-curated though.

Really great food and drink here! Wish the service was as good as the good - server in her phone intermittently during evening here (12/3) - got our drunk order wrong and forgot to bring half our dinner order (only ordered 4 items total). Definitely go for the burger though!

The WORST server I've ever encountered. After being placed at our table, we waited 20mns, another table beside us sat, and were able to order + receive their apps and drinks. Confused by who our server was, I asked a passing woman if she knew who our server was, and she proceeded to berate me (on my birthday dinner! lol). Genuinely, I was asking her if she knew who was serving our table, and it turned out it was her. She yelled at us, I felt spit on my cheek, and I apologized, because I really was only asking to know who to flag down. She was the server at the table beside us, which made things doubly confusing. Anyway, she (black hair in a bob, tattoos) avoided us for the rest of the night, though we were able to see her drink and dance with another patron all the while we waited for someone to then bring our check. An incredibly uncomfortable birthday dinner. We were ready to buy bottles but decided to just eat and get out as fast as we could. Never coming back to Liar Liar.
