Merv's Brooklyn Reviews
I love Mervs! :) everyone is so sweet and good at their job. Very good bar food too and vibey inside w a pool table! I’m so lucky this is just around the corner from me
I thought places like this went extinct in Bushwick years ago. Great place with genuine staff and no forced interactions. Great beer selection, drink specials, and a kitchen that’s open late hours. May I add their food selection is pretty great. Whether you’re there solo or with a friend, you’ll have a good time. Feels like a comfortable neighborhood bar in a rapidly changing neighborhood.
What a great, fun, relaxed, casual spot that’ll make you feel like you’re hanging out in the coolest den around. Great employees, delicious food, good music… and even though the drinks and East are inexpensive, it’s all done with care and an impressive to detail. One a date, with a group, or just out to make new friends, I highly recommend it!
I love this bar. The owners are super friendly and inviting. They make you feel like you are part of the family. Also, the bartenders are amazing and very attentive. You MUST try the fried pickles🤤. Edit 7/13/2023 I was not kidding when I said I love this place. Back for some karaoke and delicious food. Frickin chicken Fried pickles Vodka with cranberry juice
Super dope neighborhood bar. I've order (GREAT) burgers from here countless times, but finally decided to walk inside. So glad I did. The decor is super chill, like the city version of a Tiki Bar if that makes sense lol. The drinks were awesome. The bartenders helped me through the menu, as I was a tiki virgin. Overall good spot, definitely being a regular.
Nice tiki bar in Brooklyn! I went toward the end of Covid regulations in NYC (May 2021) just when things were opening up a bit more. Our drinks were tasty and the place had a cool vibe. I especially liked controlling the Jukebox with our Spotify playlist. You have to pay to do it, but it was fun regardless.
Actually this bar while deeper in bk is great! It has a large indoor space, with great selection of drinks. However proving feels like your in Manhattan. Drinks are strong and they have some funky specials with cool ways of serving then to you. It's well worth the travel and take a bunch of friends for a good night.
I really like hanging out here and I want to give the service workers the benefit of the doubt but someone literally stole my food from the kitchen before it was delivered to my table and the bartender was like "this has happened three times in the past week." She refunded my order (from her tip money which felt wrong to take but I had paid cash) but by that time I was hungry and the kitchen had closed. Speaks more to the bad behavior of some of the guests I suppose. People just hang around and try to steal free food straight from the kitchen window I guess...? Some lowlifes hanging around.
Old school dive bar with a good karaoke night. The bartender mixed up my order and overcharged my card, but my friends love this place so I'll probably be back again (and pay only with cash).
Great food but unwelcoming bartender… as if they’re mad they have to serve you. I would go back for the food, but I hope a different bartender is there. (Pictured: Feisty Fried Pickles - $10, Scorpion Tots - $12, Double Hump Cheese Burger - $12, Goat & Honey Bacon Burger - $11, The Delightfully Delicious Chicken-Less (Vegan) - $12, Side Fried Pickles - $7, Vodka Martini - $11) Prices were great for the amount and quality of food!
Everything here was good drinks, ambiance, prices etc until it came to using the Touchtune Machine. My friend & I purchased a ton of credits and queued up music that I would consider safe to play or widely known with other patrons (People were dancing) and then all of sudden machine gets shut down completely and bartender tells us “Oh there was system malfunction” meanwhile, there was no issue before when the other few songs played. Well, more than likely happened was management wasn’t a fan of The genre of tunes and decided to override and shut it off on purpose. What’s the point of having the machine in there if you don’t want people paying and picking out songs?
