Nonna's Pizzeria Brooklyn Reviews
Nonnas pizza is the best! Make sure to get their “Nonna pizza or pizetta” it’s the square one and it’s sooooo good. I pair it with a Caesar salad and never regret ❤️
Buffalo chicken pizza and black bean pizza are my faves but everything is great here. One of the best slice places in the whole city.
Great service and perfect NY slices. Do yourself a favor and if they have the meatball slice, grab it. They also have GF crust available.
Tasty and relatively cheap pizza joint right near the B48 stop. Nothing better than a slice after a night out and before the ride home.
Delicious pizza with vegan option. Funny and geek tip pot. They always offer the pizza or the day. Definitely a place to go back!
Nonna’s is the best. I’m so happy my friend Josh introduced it to me when I moved to NYC and it is the best pizza hands down.
Great creative pizzas, super friendly staff, and good prices too. Definitely our favourite neighbourhood pizza place!
The pizza here is pretty good, better than most places in the area. Nonna's is a must if you're looking for some tasty pizza fr!
Delicious pizza, super nice people. Only good things! Also definitely try the nonna, it’s truly special.
A crew member ordered a selection of pizzas last week from Nona’s. I have been craving their Veggie Pizza ever since. I reside in Park Slope Brooklyn. I’m hopping on my bike right now to appease my urge.
a place where you can try something new every day. quirky, fun and always friendly. an easy place to fall in love with. some of the greatest, most unique pizza toppings around. they also have a great selection of vegan options.
Super cute and clean old-school pizza parlor with a wide variety of pies!! Great place to grab a slice before going to a concert nearby. Super friendly and amazing service!!! Was not expecting to have my slices brought to my table. Thanks!!!
i go to kingsland bar and grill two blocks away for concerts, and coming here is pretty much a mandatory ritual for me and my friends. pizza's phenomenal, super friendly staff. also, try the garlic knots, trust me.
Really enjoy this pizza spot, worth trying the avocado quesadilla pizza for something different and delicious. The owner cooked at the longstanding UMASS Amherst pizza spot Antonios and I was pleasantly surprised that they have some of my favorites from their menu right in Brooklyn. Recommend!
The staff was amazing, let my friends and I stay past closing hours and they gave us some free food so they didn’t waste it at the end of the night! On top of having an amazing and caring staff, this was also some of the best pizza I’ve ever had in nyc! I’m still dreaming about it.
The Pizza is Amazing and The Catering is Fantastic . Excellent Service and Price plus the Quality can't be beat. Peter bent over backwards to service my Holiday needs.
some tasty pizza while ordering for pick up or delivery. love the blue cheese chicken pizza. dangerous, dangerous toppings. points for the teenage mutant ninja turtle poster, and AWESOME STAFF. also, affordable.
What a great local spot ! The pizza is really tasty and the choices seem endless. The big plus is the staff. They are wonderful and really care about helping you. A true Greenpoint gem.
The Pizza is just Great !! I think it's becouse of the Pizza Dough. It's tasty and crunchy. The Place is nice too. It's small with big windows with a view on a nice Brooklyn Street.
Best spot for a tasty slice with awesome vegan and veggie options! Good for ordering out, but has such a welcoming quirky vibe and plenty of seating most of the time.
Absolutely amazing vegan options!!! There regular options are amazing all on there own but there so inclusive and fast. Definitely some of the best vegan and non vegan pizza, rolls and salads i’ve ever had
I loved it. Their pizza and drinks are very good. Their AC's are working and when I walked in, I couldn't help but laugh at their funny jokes everywhere in the pizzeria. Would recommend
Solid pizza at a solid price. Can't go wrong giving this spot a try. Staff is very nice as well.
I'm only giving 5 stars because I don't want to bring your rating down, but I've come here to make a request! It would be awesome if Nonna's considered making a vegan hero. Daiya cheese and some fake meat, peppers and onions! Easy peasy! Also a more imaginative pasta that isn't just olive oil and vegetables. Daiya cheese and fake meat could make a vegan chicken parm. ~Signed, your local vegan who misses the imaginative vegan options that Vinnie's used to have.
The pizza is great, and the staff is spectacular. Incredibly welcoming atmosphere, they were so accommodating to me, my band, and our friends in another band even though they were wrapping things up for the night. Even sent us home with a couple extra slices. 11/10 experience, thanks Nonna's.
Was originally looking for a local deli as this was my first time in this area of Brooklyn. Got lazy, figured how bad can a NY pizza place be? And was this place a nice surprise. Was recommended a "lobster ravioli" slice & , added a pinwheel to eat was my dinner for this cold Sunday Eve. WOW! It was like a party in my mouth. Well balanced, not too hot or cold--just perfect. And as far as pricing, relatively good considering priced are going through the roof. This place will become a regularity every time I visit Kingsland. A winner for sure.
Ordered for pick up tonight and met the nicest people while picking up my pizza. Pizza was great and bonus points for the box fitting inside my tiny Euro sized fridge. Glad I ordered. It’s been a minute.
i come here at least once every week and their pizza is so good!Especially their garlic knots! you guys have to try this place
I have ordered from this pizza place multiple times pre-covid and during. (skip the seamless apps and order direct from their website). Every time the food has been awesome. Classic pepperoni pizza that just hits the spot. The pasta dishes are large and delicious too. Can’t go wrong. Delivery falls into the time frame promised and drivers are kind. Will continue to keep ordering
Five stars for a "slices" pizza joint. This is not traditional NYC pizza in the sense that they are fairly creative with their toppings and combinations. If you are looking for a greasy slice of pepperoni pizza, there are other such spots nearby. If you are looking for a kooky combo of vegetables and meats and cheese, this is a great choice. The staff is very willing to explain what is on each and every pizza. We tried 3 different slices, and they were all delicious. This pizza is not greasy.
Great pizza and fast delivery. Was staying at the Henry Norman Hotel right down the street from them and they delivered straight to the room. Toppings were fresh and tasty. Crust was good, right amount of chewy and flavorful. Cheese was basically molten when it arrived. Perfect meal after a long day of traveling.
Real neighborhood slice joint, with decent food, great vibe, cool artwork and puns. Daily vegan pizza varieties alongside regular slices, plus excellent garlic "McGolrick" knots, and you can get Vegan Treats cookies and brownies in the soda case. This place never fails to calm me down, make me happy. I wish there was a bathroom (and I'd love some new vegan flavors in the rotation), but the laundromat across the street doesn't mind if you use their restroom. Tip: the garlic knots are better plain -- all that crisp garlicky goodness -- but the accompanying marinara sauce is ideal for pizza crust-dipping...
Such a solid spot. The pizza is always great, the chicken piccata is incredible and the Caesar salad is nothing short of addictive. Plus it’s owned and run by some of the loveliest folks.
Pizza 🍕 was AWESOME. Had a vegan slice. Great toppings and friendly staff. Place has fun 80s/90s decor a.c. slater Batman ninja turtles robots 🤖. Stopped in randomly and glad we did. Tom thanks...
T.hanks to the amazing staff for making delicious affordable pizza! There are so many options at Vinnie's that u can enjoy a meal with both ur vegan and carnivorous friends. We got garlic knots, a couple vegan slices and a couple ground beef slices and we all left satisfied and smiling.
Perfect. Spent too much time working in pizza restaurants to usually eat the crust but this spot has it going on, amazing crunch and flavor. Classic and interesting slice options will be back everytime I'm in the neighborhood.
The experience was immaculate. We ordered just a small pizza, but got totally overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the owner. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and so we, obviously, wanted to tip a bit more than usual. The owner refused our tip which proved his passion and kindness once again. We are so happy we decided to go there last night and would definitely recommend this place!
Good value no frills vegan pizza! Very tasty
This is just a simple slice shop and nothing more but the pizza was way above average. Very cheesy and the crust was so good. Great place to grab a quick slice if you are in the nearby park.
Great place for a quick, affordable slice. They also have very poppable garlic knots that are 5 for $1. Can't beat that.
Great service guys! Definitely a treat on a cold night.
Delicious!!!! Different style than my go-to place near work, but equally tasty.
This review is for my parent- As a truck driver, they were working late and had a last minute late delivery at a nearby location. He dropped by when they were closing up shop and the worker without hesitation provided my father some slices even though they seemed to be ready to go home. Very grateful as my father’s shift was not close to over and was heading back to NJ in the truck. He wanted to make sure to share how much he appreciated still serving a customer after hours. Also he wanted to say the pizza was very good and is looking forward to visiting again when he is not working.
We ordered catering for our holiday lunch and it was great! Plenty of food and very good options. Peter definitely took care of us!
Solid cheese slice. Nice tangy sauce. Perfect crisp. No complaints here.
My favorite local pizza spot. My husband and I stop here on our way home frequently. I absolutely love their square Sicilian and they have the best beef empanadas. I also love how friendly the people working here are and am happy to support a local small business
We made our own vegan pie with broccoli and black olives and vegan cheese. The pizza came out great! The cheese was melty (surprising for a vegan cheese) and the vegetables were cooked just right. 3 people were able to split a pie and all 3 of us were very satisfied! We also ordered 3 non vegan veggie slices and one plain cheese pizza slice. The veggie slices were hearty and had a lot of veggies. The only thing they were missing was black olives but other than that they were good according to our non vegan diners! Staff were great while picking up and kept the slices warm while we waiting for the pie to be made. The shop has the standard NY pizza pie parlor vibe and was nice and sunny and spacious. Overall a great pickup experience and great food. I'm glad they have good vegan and non vegan options
We had Nonna’s cater a party for my bday / fundraiser and they DELIVERED!! They were prompt and the PIZZA WAS A HIT!! We ordered 5 Nonna’s and pepperonis! The Nonna is my personal favorite and I think it’s their best pizza. I’ve had it for many bursts but never catered. Such a good spot! And the guys are all so nice in the shop:)
The pizza was super delicious and they had a vast variety of slices! The staff were super patient and helpful while i was deciding and even explained the different slices they had as well as their items from the kitchen. They were also kind and respectful and made sure my food came out well and amazing!!! Will definitely be coming back for more. Ps the ny style cheesecake is to die for
Not the greatest pizza in Brooklyn, but they are creative and have very good dough. Best option in a 10 block radius.
Nonna's has great, tasty pizza. The staff is always friendly and attentive. This is a place the work crew and I frequent for lunch when in the area.
This place is far superior to a more prominently frequented place south on Naussau (ahem . . .) Their pies are really tasty with a better idea of how to make a pizza margherita. Their service is very friendly, and their insalata caprese was quite tasty (although they could use better tomatoes). Price is good for what you get, and it's a great neighborhood to walk to and from for your food.
I can't say the pizza blows me away or is especially special, but it's a great addition to this underserved corner of Greenpoint. I love that they have a bunch of options for vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. They even have vegan "chicken" wings and whoopie pies. The people that work there are always really friendly and seem to enjoy their job. I'd avoid the pastas and sandwiches they serve, they're underwhelming. The zeppoles they serve on Fridays are kind of doughy, but still tasty in the way that all fried dough with powdered sugar is.
No frills place for a good slice. They have vegan slices and a small selection of baked pasta as well. Plus some great 90s throwback decorations to spruce it up!
I've only had the chicken ceasar salad wrap but it's delicious. The wrap has a really good flavor. Definitely recommend it.
I happened upon this pizzeria on my way to the Ed Koch Bridge. It's mainly a family/community gathering spot. The grandma was tasty, and the thin crust regular slice was good as well. There was a young gentleman who served me. I didn't get his name but he was kind and welcoming.
Yesterday I stepped in for the first time to get a slice of pizza. Surprisingly (I am vegan) they had a vegan margarita pizza ready. Long story short: I literally tried all the American style vegan margarita slices in Williamsburg and Greenpoint. So far this one was the best. I couldn't avoid a second slice of it. Particularly the tomato sauce one the pizza was generous a delicious. Bravo! A plus for them: they were showing the soccer world cup in their restaurant.
Always on point. They do their own deliveries so depending on the guy it makes you miss the 30min or free from the 90s. If my order takes over an hour I can be sure to see the older OG at the door. He never comes into my building lol I always tip. They’re good people. Customer service top notch. Even late your greeted with a smile. The pizza is great. Honestly one of the best. They deliver to me in queens so I’m also grateful for that
Been there twice now around lunch time during the week. Plain, white, and Sicilian slices were excellent. Nice 90s hometown pizzeria feel to the place. Prices were surprisingly reasonable for the area. My new go-to spot when working in Greenpoint. Update: I originally reviewed this place when it was Vinnie's Pizza. This new iteration, Nonna's is good but not quite as much. The atmosphere is more generic but still nice and the prices seem to be very high. Over $43 for 1 plain pie and 1 pepperoni pie. Pizza tasted good and staff were great. Updating this to 4 stars.
Nonna’s is a decent option! Service is really fast and friendly. The garlic knots are really hit or miss; sometimes they’re fantastic but other times they’re pretty burnt and dried out. Regular cheese pie is pretty standard, not amazing or anything, but at least it is consistent.
Pizzas are great. Love the thin crust and filling toppings. The staff was nice. The collections are adorable. One star off just because I think they can dust the decor too.
Excellent counter service pizza spot. Their plain slice is a fantastic as are their specialty slices. They do subs and meat pies too. Also, there are puns and jokes hidden all over the restaurant - see if you can spot them all.
Good pizza place overall. Service is fast but pizza is not cut well. Sometimes pizza gets stale, make sure to check how your desired slice looks before you order. Veggie pizzas are heavenly, with so many vegetables! I have never seen any pizza places with better veggie pizza.
Pizza here is good, typical NYC style. They have a lot of vegan options. Counter service is hit or miss.
Vinnie's is fine, don't get me wrong. Giving three stars here because when I'm hungry for a slice, I usually walk the extra 5-7 minutes to Tony's even though I have to walk right past Vinnies to do so. I'll stop at Vinnies if I'm with someone who is vegan/veggie/dairy free, because Vinnies does have fantastic options for people with dietary restrictions. Also in terms of prices there - I give it two Dolla $igns - $$
Good overal food... pizza crust seems like it's pre baked (when ordering a full pie), which makes it too dry. Great vegan selection, plus traditional pizza. Friendly staff. Fun atmosphere. From a vegan standpoint, I'd choose these guys over Screamers for better consistency, venue, attention to detail and extra options. I gave them the same rating because Screamers crust was better, but that's it. Crust is a big deal though when rating pizza, especially in NYC.
Average pizza. Cheese is the chewy/rubbery variety. Crust is decent. More focused on wild varieties, than getting the basics perfected. Meatball parm sandwich was hot and meatballs home made, but the really lack flavor. Staff is very friendly!
Most of the time I'm so happy ... this time it was so soggy felt like the crust wasn't even cooked. Ordered 2 Large pies $55. Omg all because one had 1/2 mushroom. So crazy never again !! Unfortunately not worth it !!
The plain slice is ehh BUT theirs someone in there that knows what they’re doing. The square slices are very good.
Just ordered. The reviews are true, pizza soggy and underwhelming. It doesn’t have enough flavor and the cheese tastes like it’s spoiled. I will say the guy on the phone who helped me was super nice. They sell cheesecake from a 3rd party vendor that was delish. Now I’m forced to throw away a $7 slice of pizza because I don’t want it and I wouldn’t give it to anyone else.
pizza is thin and dough is barely cooked... will not be getting pizza from here again
$18 + cc fees for a small pasta order with no meat. Better be hand made noodles at that point and sauce from the tomatoes imported from Italy! Every pizza looks old and the dough it made so thin that the pizza is always wrinkly and folding on itself. Edit: $3.26 for a slice is such trash. Go here as a last resort only. -1 star Edit 2: my girlfriend went here and got a few slices and they were literally raw. I brought it back and demanded new slices Edit 3: I’m giving back 1 star because it’s been improving, still on probation.
Cold old pizza Sicilian no good.
I wish this place made good pizza. It's just ok. To be a good slice you need to be able to hold a slice in a hand or hands. The pizza here is frequently a soggy mess that falls apart when you try to pick it up. The neighborhood needs a good pizza parlor. This place just has not been up to snuff. The folks that work there are nice enough, the location is good... there just something off with the food they make.
They have great service but their pizza legitimately gave me diarrhea the next day. I got a bbq chicken and a pepperoni slice within a couple hours after my stomach was rumbling the next day full on liquid bowel movements typing this review from the toilet right now lol.
Such a sad looking pizza. Thankfully they had a better cheese slice in the back that I got but I can’t believe they’d put this old dried up pizza up front. Or try to sell it in general. I hadn’t come here in like a year because my last visit was the same. Very mediocre selection. I gave it another try and… this. The fresher slice I got was better but crust was super thin so the slice would fall apart. I want this business to do well because I live close and would love some tasty pizza nearby. Hence why I’ve bothered to leave the review. Oh and staff was cool but one other employee just reached into the garlic knot bowl and took one. Looked like the delivery driver or something. Didn’t seem very hygienic 👀
A generic pizzeria that’s been at same spot for long time. hadn’t been here in a few decades and stopped for a slice. Pizza was bland and unappealing and server was low energy. Have had way better pizza at hole-in-wall pizza spots in Brooklyn.
Been in s few times now and it’s just not very good pizza, the size of the slices are small for the price and the taste overall is pretty bland. Even a reg cheese was disappointing. Maybe it’s because they just opened but it’s been disappointing
I have tried this new place three times. It’s such a tragically dreadful replacement of Vinnies. Limited selection and bland mediocre pizza overall. I hope they find their footing or they will be short lived. Locals know good pizza.
The register guy took cash money from the customer ahead of me and then was cutting my chicken roll without putting gloves on or at least washing hands. When I politely noted that it's not ok, he started arguing with me. I didn't want to deal with this Bs and left. Very unprofessional and terrible service.
Pizza is lackluster not for your original greenpointer place has ants 🐜 running all over and the owner is a goof who doesn’t get it. Old ownership was much better but as of now the place is a dump
Got from here a long time ago after vinnies closed and it was mid. Went to check the google reviews now to see if the place improved and theres something shady here. Warning to anyone checking here. Tons of the glowing 5 star reviews are for Vinnies Pizzeria which no longer exists at this location. This means any review thats five stars from 6 years ago or earlier is not for this establishment. Kinda shady you claimed the same spot on gmaps to inherit the reviews.
The people who work here are racist. If you're black expect to walk in and barely be greeted, and looked at with disgust. The customer service is trash in this place and this from multiple times giving them a chance and encountering different employees. Besides that pizza slices look like their from a chuckecheese pie on how small and flat they are and extremely overpriced! Every year this place keeps getting worse and worse.
$4 for a regular extremely mediocre cheese slice that would’ve been a $1-$1.50 anywhere else. Ambience is zero, no bathroom, the place is dirty, run down and underage kids are working. Please make it sense to me why they are charging $4 slice again?
delivery order -- one pizza arrived smushed, crumpled under its own weight on one end it seems? The pizza was too soggy we think, likely not the delivery driver's fault as the second pizza we got wasn't smushed at all. The smushed one was the white eggplant. The eggplant tasted good, though the pizza was soggy overall and mushy, and it was a red sauce pizza, not white, so I was pretty confused. The second pizza was a Sicilian with the left side with vegan beef. The vegan beef crumbles were dry and not great. The plain cheese right side was better but still too tough/chewy at places. Overall a striking disappointment given the reviews I had seen for this place.
Used to love it. But without care to my order. Took almost an hour for the food to be delivered then it came 2 pizzas 1/2 cooked . I mean 1/2 raw. Why? Anyone cooking pizza could've easily seen it wasn't done. So my hungry kids had to wait for me to preheat the oven and cook their pizza. Not to mention it was 65.00 with tip for undercooked pies. Yes they offered to send me new ones in another hour. I declined. Again. Anyone who put this pizza in the box knew it wasn't done but didn't care.
The worst tasting Pizza I've ever had!!! I never had a soggier 🍕 in all my life. The sauce bleeds through the bread. It's more soggier then a wet paper towel! And the sauce has no love in the making of it! Gen z'ers wouldn't know Good food if it hit them in the face. This is pizza made by Gen z'ers!
Correct me, if I am wrong here! When you place an order for a fresh pie with Ham, Is it not already understood that you don’t want the cheese pie that’s been sitting in the window with some ham thrown on top and rush out to you?? I just thought when you spend $33 dollars for a large pie that it should be fresh. Note to self, maybe I should call earlier to avoid the “closing time” pie that has been sitting under a heat lamp all night. 😒
