Love coming here. We typically come just the two of us to the counter by the window to eat and people watch. This was our fifth time and we brought our family together for a birthday. Service is excellent and the food is fantastic as always. The frutti de mare pizza is a must, as well as the mussels. We did an appetizer spread (burrata is a true burrata) of all the items on their menu. Calamari is also very crispy! You can't go wrong with the food or cocktails, enjoy!

After a concert at Prospect, we came across this gem 20 minutes to close..we sat down at the bar greeted by the bartender with smiles, and ordered some drinks and pizza. Drinks came out amazing and pizza we took back to our hotel. Amazing. Also orders the artichoke appetizer, amazing again. Great place, great ambiance, great service all around. 5/5

This place is sooo good. I've been here for dinner and brunch and the food has been delicious both times. The brunch was especially good and the portions were super generous. For dinner, you can't go wrong with anything - I'd recommend sharing stuff (including a pizza or two). The servers have always been nice, and the place itself is cute. Great neighborhood staple.

Ottava is our new favorite restaurant we just stumbled into one night when looking for a bite to eat. Easy to say this is becoming a regular spot for us. From the calming environment, to the delicious food, to the welcoming and attentive staff (shoutout Helder) I can’t recommend this place enough. Pick anything on the menu, you won’t be disappointed!

N
Noa Carter

The food and atmosphere were a ten. Great options, anything you order will blow you away with great flavors. The staff really takes the cake, however. Helder was our server and he was warm, accomadating, funny and kind!

M
Miriam Gottfried

Wonderful neighborhood spot with great cocktails and pizza. Our server, Helder, was very accommodating, setting up a special table to allow me, my husband, baby and dog to sit outside in the shade.

S
Sara Durkacs

Sublime thin-crusted, brick-oven pizza with a vegan cheese option. Get the Margarita with loads of veggies or the Marinara, sans anchovies. Add the Mercado salad and you’ll have the perfect dinner! Don’t order pineapple on your pizza, which is a whopping $69 extra. Why so expensive? The chef genius deterrent for guests who might want to add this topping to their pie! Dine-in, if you can. The décor and atmosphere is equally sublime. Great place for grown-ups—and vegans.

I really like this restaurant. Very attractive room. Staff is nice. Very good cocktails. I'll be honest, I don't love the pizza, but the St. Eve's burger is outstanding.

A
Ana Gedde-Palumbo

Honestly, Adam and Laura were absolutely exceptional. We couldn’t be more grateful for their service and the way they treated the birthday girl tonight. Adam delivers emaculate service while Laura was so attentive and wonderful. If you want to have a bday here, do it because they go above and beyond for you. We will definitely be back.

Such a well lit corner restaurant! They serve incredibly delicious made to order pizzas, with a substantial cocktail selection (and mocktails) in a chic environment, on a very well appointed corner. Really a treasure for the area.

P
Paul Nocera

A laid back neighborhood spot with a simple, yet well formed menu. A subdued elegance with plenty of outdoor seating too. Challenge your taste buds and your tooth'ly skills with the marinated olives: on the pit, and sumptuously meaty...yummm.

What a lovely lovely spot! Dined here with couple of friends on a Saturday evening. Everything from start to finish was very good and fresh. We ordered arancini ( corn and chives, yummy), Parmesan tossed green beans, cauliflower crust zucchini flower pizza with fresh burrata on top and pesto sauce drizzled, mushroom and margarita pizzas with anchovies on top. All dishes were very good, pizzas were well cooked, drinks were good. They have a big vermouth menu. Spritzers are well priced like $10, and good selection of natural and biodynamic wines too. Service was very good, professional and lovely. They let us sit and dine comfortably without any pressures given for 3 hours! 🥂🦋 Love the atmosphere! Thank you!

We walked in on a Wednesday evening for dinner. While not every table was full when we walked in, most tables were filled indoors by the time we left. There was plenty of seating at the bar left. The cocktail (Parole Parole) was so refreshing and delicious. The broccolini appetizer was crunchy and lightly dressed. The two Signature Pizzas (duck and mushroom) we tried were both good, but we prefer the mushroom. The dough was perfectly chewy. The service was a bit slow in the beginning, but there were only two servers. Can't wait to come back to try other pizzas!

The pizza here is nothing short of spectacular. The dough soft yet bubbly crisp, the ingredients fresh and unique, and the flavors perfectly balanced. Sadly, they were open for about 5 days before the COVID shutdown order, but luckily they are providing delivery and takeout for now. At first, it seems like $18-20 for a personal pizza is excessive but each pie is so rich and satisfying, that it’s completely worth it. Update several weeks later: Ottava has the potential to be a destination level restaurant. The pizza is truly something special. The freshness and flavors literally evoke the land and bounty of the Mediterranean. Try their Pesto with fresh zucchini and tomato confit.

Ottva was the perfect post-race brunch spot after our run in Prospect Park! From the moment we walked in, everything exceeded expectations—starting with no wait at all, which is a huge win after a race. Every entrée we ordered was excellent, but a special shoutout to the gluten-free breakfast pizza—absolutely outstanding and packed with flavor. The coffee was delicious, exactly what tired runners need to refuel and recharge. The service was warm, attentive, and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Ottva nailed it on food, atmosphere, and hospitality. We will definitely be back the next time we race in Brooklyn. Highly recommend for brunch, runners, families, and anyone looking for an amazing Italian spot in Park Slope!

The atmosphere at Ottava is similar to what you would see in the city. This was a nice, conveinent surprise in our borough. The food was solid, but not groundbreaking. An easy brunch spot if you’re looking for something relaxed and traditional. I would visit again for their happy hour and other cocktails!

Nice staff. The pizza is woodfired. The wine is over $50 a bottle. I got the fish which was delicious, but I finished my meal by taking my daughter’s uneaten pizza crust and sopping up all of the sauce. Next time I would choose a pizza as that is their specialty. No bread while you wait.

M

I saw a recent post about Ottava and thought it looked like a nice cocktail spot to check out. I went on a Thursday lunch date with my fiancee and ordered a couple of their specialty cocktails and the flatbread. In terms of cocktails: the menu is very specialized and caters to more spirit-forward enjoyers. Many of the drinks contained two liqueurs on top of the base spirit, which is ok to some, but I’m not a fan so I took a while to order to see what cocktail would best suit my tastes (1 base spirit + fruit/herbs instead of liqueurs). Whatever I ended up choosing was too spirit-forward and too bitter for my taste— I should’ve read the ingredients more carefully. My fiancee ordered a pineapple cocktail, which was very sweet, but more refreshing than mine. We’ll need to give this bar another shot with different drinks since the ambience is a gorgeous sunlit room.

This place peaked my interest after a walk in the park. Very spacious and pleasant atmosphere. For drinks i found the salers moon (aperol, prosecco, apéritif and grapefruit) very refreshing in the heat. A little too sweet but very generous in size. Shout-out to a recent reviewer. Instead of their pizza, i went with the buratta. Very unique appetizer. I have never had buratta wrapped in baked pizza dough. It arrived on a bed of nettles farce, Calabrian chili sauce, caper berries, tomato confit and olives (which i took out, never been a fan). It was very satisfied with this dish. Very much like a deconstructed pizza. Perfect and filling for one person. Would return to enjoy their gorgeous decor

Pizza was pretty good, but not worth the price. Melon salad featured melons that weren’t ripe! Location is very nice though.

I got the fungi pizza. I was disappointed to find that the pizza didn’t hold up and was kinda soggy. It also could have been more flavorful. The cheese on top of it didn’t have so much taste. The whole thing was underwhelming. My friend got the beet salad which was fairly small but tasty. I’m not sure I’d come back.

While the service was great, my party of 3 were not too enthused with our pizzas. The sauce felt watery and lacking flavor, and the crust was on the harder side.

Vibes were good. Pizza was floppy and lacking some flavor. They were not worth the price. For the eggplant and meatball pizzas, we got a sprinkle of each topping. The organic chicken breast was moist but completely flavorless. Burger was good but for the price it isn't worth it.

I don’t write many bad reviews after working in the service industry for many years. However, this is about the third time I’ve dined here and had pretty poor service. The excuse always is that they are understaffed. And the only reason why we’ve come back is because the food is good. However, we won’t be back this time. Being understaffed is one thing, completely ignoring customers, making poor decisions and giving bad service is a choice! Today, they were understaffed once again and it was a very busy day because of the weather. Again, you can easily check the weather forecast if you are a restaurant with an outdoor dining area to see whether you should be adding staff on for the day. 1. We waited 15 minutes before someone came to our table after seating us. Maybe longer! The problem with that is we were next to two tables that were getting service so they made a choice to ignore us as they continued to walk by and not even acknowledge us. They could’ve just simply said we are very sorry and we will be with you soon but nothing. I literally had to get up from my table, walk to the bar and grab the water bottle for our party. 2. It was freezing cold and everyone in the restaurant had their jackets on. I asked if there could be something done about the temperature and they acknowledged that the air conditioner was on but there was nothing they could do about it. 3. Our drinks sat at the bar while the bartender came out behind the bar and waited on tables next to us but let our drinks just sit there. Our server also walked past the bar with our drinks sitting there several times. Anyone in the service industry knows the saying, full hands in and full hands out. We were literally sitting next to the table that the bartender was helping. There were multiple opportunities to drop our drinks off. However, I had to ask for our drinks. 4. Another example of poor decision making and bad service, my mom asked for a cup of coffee and when the coffee was placed on the table it was spilt. Not a big deal. However, the bartender took away the dirty plate and never even came back to clean up the coffee spill all over the table. We were expected to do that. Unfortunately, we like the food here and we like the restaurant group but it seems we always have issues with the service at this establishment. Maybe it’s just brunch but it doesn’t seem like they ever staff appropriately. Not sure if that would help but I assume it would.

Great place, great staff. But I tire of paying $78 plus tip for a very modest meal for two at the bar ($17 for a small veggie pizza, $27 for a mid smashburger, $17 for a cocktail and $9 for a beer) at a neighborhood joint. Come on...

The meatballs in the appetizer were very dry. The pork chop Milanese was not a Whole breaded, pork chop, but thinly sliced pork, covered with breadcrumbs. It tasted of burnt breadcrumbs and the pork was dry and tasteless. It was awful. To be fair my wife liked the brussels sprout appetizer, which she had as a main course, which was brought to her with my appetizer despite her telling them it was for her main course. We will not be going back here again.

On a beautiful night we asked to sit outside at this neighborhood spot. No, said the host, it's going to rain, we are bringing everything inside. There was not a cloud in the sky. (Later, from another restaurant, we checked radar - no clouds anywhere near the tristate area.) Also, he added, we don't serve outside after 9pm. It was 9.05, and I had even called ahead to make sure they were open. Clearly, we were not needed. And we will not be back.

Probably one of the worst dining experiences of my life. We decided to come to Park slope to check out any spots to eat and found Ottava. We went inside, we were greeted by the waitress with “Can I help You?”and the waitress said to us that the restaurant was closing and that she needed to take our order right away. She sat us outside, put the menus on the table and didn’t come back till 20 minutes later to take our order. We kept looking in the window to see where she was, and all we can see is the bartender on his phone the entire time. She came back and said “this is last call, so no more orders”, pretty rude if you ask me. The whole time we felt as we were being rushed out. She came back with our pizza and salad and look confused on where to place it on the table and awkwardly kept moving our glasses with her fingertips on the rims. The pizza barely had any toppings and was undercooked. The kale salad had too many salty components, no dressing, and was missing something to balance the salty flavor. . She didn’t come back for 30 minutes to check on us. Finally did with the check, didn’t say thank you, or nothing. But of course she came back right away the second time to make sure we were ready to leave. Very rude.

We used to like this place but we got pizzas delivered and they were absolutely a mess with all the toppings completely off the pies and ice cold to boot. We called and they were unapologetic. They said it wasn't their problem and the best they would offer was for us to come pick up a new order; they refused to send a new delivery. Awful. Never again.

If you don’t intend to get me a table, because I am a party of one, then tell me so immediately. Don’t let me waiting for 10minutes (and in front of a table that is available), I can’t guess you want to keep it in case a bigger party shows up. I like your pizza but this was not cool, and not what I needed today.
