Reine de la Nube Brooklyn Reviews
Today I had a encebollado mixto (seafood soup) and there’s Sunday special seco de chivo. Drinks we had morocho and pineapple juice. Everything was good.
Amazing food, great service, everyone is very kind and answered all our questions. Our first time having Ecuadorian food so I can’t speak to the authenticity but to me it was incredible - so hearty, fresh and good. The best tostones I’ve ever had! Big portions and very reasonably priced. I loved this place.
Come for the service stay for the food. This is the type of spot that defines the character of the Burroughs especially Brooklyn. I feel like I've been transported to Central America for a delicious affordable and authentic lunch. Excellent bakery on premise and a great lunch special everyday. Iove their soups.
Small place but seating is available indoors. There is also a bakery section that sells breads and pastries. I ordered a Bandejita Criolla and Guatita (see picture below) with Tamarindo and Maracuya juice. Everything was great. The food is very tasty and this has been the only place so far that I have found that serves authentic Ecuadorian food unlike the many others. The fried pork was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside unlike most that are hard and dry like a rock. Big portions and reasonably priced. Great overall.
Pretty delicious, large portion sizes for the price. Everything felt fresh and well seasoned. My boyfriend and I shared El Cholito, which had a mixture of meats plus ceviche and maduros. We added the cow feet soup with mote which was delicious but ultimately too much food ha. Overall enjoyed the simple, down to earth atmosphere (which I prefer compared to some more gentrified pan Latin places that typify Brooklyn). The waitress that served us was very nice and gave the right amount of attention.
ECUADOR 🇪🇨 Eat the World NYC review: From the outside, with an awning that has long disintegrated away, the poetic and whimsical name of "Queen of the Cloud" might only be familiar to Ecuadorians and a few Peruvians with knowledge of the history. A sticker in the front window honors nuestra señora de la nube, a story that goes back to the 1600's when the Virgin Mary appeared in the sky above a prayer procession on its way from a village to Quito. At the site of this appearance, there is now a festival each year to celebrate the events. Back down here on Earth, this little bakery and restaurant is popular with livery cab drivers and other Ecuadorians inspired by their weekday lunch specials, excellent prices, and quick service allowing them to get back in their cars and back to work. A shrine in the front has dolls to (I'm guessing) represent the Blessed Mother, and some patrons say a prayer and touch her dress on the way out.
The platter I had was good so was the service only wish the menu was in English for those that can't read Spanish that well.
It’s decent. FYI just in case you were looking for fresh juice, don’t order from here. They are made using concentrate from a packet and they add 4-5 scoops of sugar and blend together.
Under new management. My family and I go to this restaurant/bakery very often. Food in general is good. However, tamales tend to be very hard, so dry. I was dissapointed.
Not so great place to eat. I went for the first time to try Ecuadorian food for breakfast with my friend, and the dish she asked had a good presentation, but the meat was too salty with too much seasoning. Also we asked for coffee with half and half, and it was cold and with more cream than coffee. I asked for a tamal that was reheated in the microwave and because of that too dry. The lady behind the counter had an attitude and the waitress was the same. Totally regret going here, not worth ever going again.
The experience was just awful 😖 Never going there again. Horrible service. There are better Ecuadorian restaurants other places and better service.
