Lucky Day Whiskey Bar is a chill place to go and relax while enjoying some great whiskey and some good comfort food in downtown Buffalo! Perfect for a date night or to hang with friends listening to live music. They have a huge bar serving endless options of whiskey, cocktails, beer, and wine. The atmosphere is dim and casual. It has a speakeasy vibe to it. The food was very good. We ordered a couple of their specials as well as the brussels on their regular menu. I highly recommend trying them! Comfortable seating with large private booths off to the side. Parking is easy right next door in the lot. Definitely an enjoyable evening!

We dined here for our 23rd anniversary with good friends that live in the area. We were looking for somewhere special with a speakeasy old school feel. From the moment you walk in you're taken back to a time gone by. Warm and inviting with special books for dinner and drinks. We had our dinner in the upper level which was beautiful. The bar is absolutely beautiful and their bourbon selection is fantastic! Everything was perfect. The hostess was full of energy, lively and made us feel special the moment we walked in. Our server was wonderful. Drinks on point and food delicious. Highly recommend!! We loved everything about this and the experience was top notch. It we lived in western NY I know this would be a regular place to visit.

This restaurant is amazing. I really enjoyed the brick style decor. For some they may feel it’s a little to dark. I feel the dimness suits this place really well. I encourage everyone that decides to come here, please ask for server Jake. Jake was very attentive and informative. Jake not only offered recommendations, but he listens to what you like. Fries- fresh cut with some skin on is always a winner Brisket sliders- wonderful flavors and the meat was so tender. Only complaint was some of the pieces was nothing but fat Halibut- came with a bed of lentils- OMG… you wouldn’t think fish could come across, as a filling dish. But it definitely was filling, and the lentils added so much flavor. Whiskey flights- change often.. but flights was truly amazing with good quality Cheesecake- they should be arrested for how good this tasted Final day thoughts - good food and drinks.. I will be attending again and again

Amazing service! The food was great and the whisky flights were awesome. They have so many options for an old fashioned and so many whisky options in general. The hostess and our waitress were both friendly and amazing. We ordered the Caesar to share and it was a perfect portion. The fried whisky pickles came out hot and crispy and the steaks perfectly cooked. They said they would have a live band later that night and I wish we returned but didn't have a chance to. Can't wait to return!

A must go when in Buffalo for the night. I ate the best fried pickles anywhere in this extremely charming restaurant. Not to mention, the burger was second to none. Our server claimed she was new to waitressing but was the most attentive without being overly burdensome. Her guidance led to some amazing drinks and dining experiences. The night I went, they had a really nice jazz band. I'm not sure if that's every Saturday.

We went for Valentine’s Day and were Majorly impressed. We got the whiskey fried pickles, a dozen oysters, and shared a 20 OZ Chateaubriand they had for a V day special. I’m not kidding when I say it was the best cut of beef I’ve ever had. Especially when you got to the very middle of it. Literal meat candy that melted in your mouth. They gave you this delicious red wine sauce too. Holy GOOD. My husband did get some Buffalo Trace whiskey since it is a whiskey bar, I just stuck with a coke. We had a really nice table back against the wall, with curtains on both sides of us so we could only really look out. It was such a nice night. Loved it ❤️

Ok... If you're in the Buffalo area, Lucky Day is a MUST! I was in Buffalo on business and hadn't checked out many of the local spots in the past. I spoke to a few interior designer friends of mine (shoutout to the talented ladies over at Copper & Cotton Home Design & Supply) asking for a recommendation on where I might sit down for a steak and a few drinks. They did not steer me wrong with this one! I have had steaks of all cuts far and wide across the U.S., but I have to say, Lucky Day's talent cooked up easily the finest Ribeye I've ever tasted. This is only a shame to say because I'm about 6 hours outside of Buffalo, but would easily travel back to have another one of their steaks. On top of the food - the service, atmosphere, and wide selection of bottles & cocktails, there was no place I would've rather stopped into after a long day than Lucky Day. I could not recommend this establishment enough. If you're on the fence about where to go for a drink and some great food, jump off the fence and go to Lucky Day.

It’s always a lucky day when I’m around… But I was the lucky one to be able to be a customer at this wonderful establishment. The vibe is unmatched. It’s dark with candles at every table. #purebliss I Love the theme here at the front of the restaurant and throughout. Oh, and the food… the food was absolutely amazing. I had the grilled shrimp with steak and mash potatoes and not a crumb was left behind. There’s parking right behind the restaurant in the heart of downtown buffalo. The price for parking is little to nothing and it’s so worth the visit. No reservations needed but it looks like because of the bar setup and location it can be pretty busy in the evening. Thank me later!

The first time I went to Lucky Day, I went for a birthday. We rented out the corner lounge space for approximately 20 people. I was very impressed by the ambiance. When I was standing at the bar, I saw pasta that someone was eating and I knew that I had to come back to try dinner here. I love seafood - so I do not say this lightly - this is the best shrimp cocktail I have ever had. They were big, clean, and tasty. Both sauces they were paired with the cocktail sauce, and a cream based sauce were so tasty. I do wish I got a bigger piece of lemon with it though. The oysters were good, again I wish the slice of lemon was bigger. The mignonette sauce was good but I wish I had cocktail sauce with it. I did order the shrimp and the oysters at the same time but the oysters were served way quicker than the shrimp so unfortunately I couldn't use the cocktail sauce from the shrimp because I had eaten the oysters already! My friend ordered the Mac and cheese and the burger. He loved both! The Mac and cheese had Goldfish crumbles on top which I tried and the pairing was tasty! My friend ordered two drinks as well. A cocktail and a glass of wine, he loved both. This is a place that I will keep returning to. The pictures for Instagram are perfect. The lighting, the atmosphere and everything paired together is such a unique experience. The staff were nice, polite, and accommodating. The host specifically had an extremely bubbly personality and you feel special from the second you walk in the door. We made a same day reservation and were seated right away. The band that played, a keyboard, an electric guitar, and drums I felt was just right to set the tone and the mood. The drummer did not take a smile off of his face for a single second! He looked happy to be there and it was nice to witness. Great music! Thank you!

Really great steak in a beautiful spot. The huge wall of spirits is really cool looking. We got off to a slow start as it took nearly 40 minutes from the time we were seated until our table of 5 got our drinks, but Ghoulia did an amazing job of recovering and getting the night back on track. She was a lot of fun and made the experience better through her humor and knowledge. Really great cocktails and a nice beer selection. I probably will never be in Buffalo again, but if I am I know where to get a good steak. Highly recommended.

I was in Buffalo for a conference and afterwards my colleagues and I went to this wonderful bar that was recommended to our group. The atmosphere was very friendly from the greeting at the door to the awesome bartending staff. It was happy hour so we ordered some drinks and later some food. While at the bar we got to know Adam S. our bartender. He was a master at making drinks. We watched him stir 2 drinks with one hand, and shake a Shaker with the other. We enjoyed everything we ordered (Brisket sliders, fries, fried pickles and our mixed drinks made to perfection by Adam S.) When we left we took a picture with Adam S. and told him everytime we are in Buffalo we'd come and see him. If I lived in Buffalo Lucky Day would be my regular spot.

A fantastic stop during my Buffalo stay. The fried pickles were the best I’ve ever tried, served in a cozy, inviting spot that instantly felt welcoming. My burger came out perfect truly memorable. Our server mentioned it was her first week, yet she delivered exceptional care without hovering. Her suggestions led to terrific drinks plus a smooth dining flow. A live jazz group was playing that night, creating a warm vibe that made the whole visit even better. Unsure if they perform every week, but it was a great surprise.

What an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt like stepping straight into a movie — think The Godfather meets classic New York charm. Dim lights, jazz softly playing, and the kind of ambiance that makes you want to sit back and savor every second. Our server, Nikki, was absolutely amazing — warm, knowledgeable, and attentive in all the right ways. She made perfect recommendations, and everything we ordered was simply delicious. And let me tell you about the whiskey selection… unreal! They have something for every palate — from smooth and smoky to rich and complex — it’s a true whiskey lover’s dream. The whole experience was one of those rare nights that just feels special. Lucky Day isn’t just a bar — it’s a vibe, a story, and an experience I’ll be coming back for. 🥃✨

Food was great and there were so many options for whiskey. The guys at the bar were nice enough to give us different sorts of whiskey to try!

I enjoy this downtown Buffalo restaurant. They have a great happy hour menu because I wanted to order the chicken sandwich but I ordered the steak burger 🍔 instead. Very good burger. Highly recommend 👌🏾

I truly enjoy Lucky Day every time! The food is always delicious, I need you to bring back some salmon tho. Also would love for the service to be more attentive I truly feel it was lacking in that area.

The first time we went we had the chicken entree, oysters, shrimp, fries some drinks and lol I don’t remember what else. It was allll amazing! The second time we went we went trot happy hr. The drinks were good but unfortunately I got the chicken sandwich and it was pretty much burned. They explained that it had to be really cooked so the chicken would be at its route inside…I would recommend taking that item of the menu or figuring out how to produce this sandwich to where it’s pleasing on the eye and cooked protein out it being overcooked! I think tried the mushroom cheese “sub” which was a lot to take in because it was as the title said mushrooms so it was a lot of them on there and a lot a lot of cheese I had probably 3 bites and couldn’t bring myself to even taking it home. My husband’s burger was just okay as well. Believe me I was hyped for the happy hr but left looking and driving for dinner. Perhaps figure out some other options for happy hr. Believe me we will be back but just not for happy hr. I encourage going there and ordering off the reg menu. I will also note that we were greeted politely and promptly and our servers both times were great.

This is our second time here and our last time here. Our first experience was wonderful everything was perfect. I don’t know what happened. Was there a change of ownership new staff? We came early for our 715 p.m. reservations and told the houses we were there table. As walk-ins are coming in and she’s seating them. My partner went up and asked and she goes. Oh I’m sorry and then sat us. Other parties that were sat after us we’re getting their drinks before we were and mind you are waitress only had two tables. My wedge salad tasted like bitter cabbage. It was the worst, and it took so long to bring a salad to the table. The fillet was good but the french fries are supposed to be homemade and tasted like they sat around for a couple hours. Just very disappointed that our waitresses helper did the most for us and she won’t be getting the tip..

Husband and I were in town for a Bills game and received a recommendation from a bartender to check out Lucky Day. Ambiance was great and bourbon selection was amazing, and the Friday night band awesome. We both had Old Fashioneds which were made perfectly. The host who sat us was very nice and cheerful, I wish maybe she had been our server. Our actual server was very blah and didn’t seem as if she wanted the table. We ordered the Brisket Sliders to start and they were very good, brisket was cooked perfectly and the sauce was tasty. For main course I ordered the Seafood Fettuccine and my husband got the Scallops with Grits neither of us were impressed. The pasta was overcooked and had a weird consistency and the sauce was awful with barely any seafood at all. The grits were flavorless and a little under cooked, the scallops were cooked and even seasoned perfectly but something in them left a very weird not good after taste. If I ever returned it would definitely only be for good music, great body r on, and appetizers.
