If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would! The vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection. The sauces were flavorful and profound but not too salty. We ordered pad cashew nut and pad prew wan (sweet and sour) both with tofu and they were both incredible! Can’t wait to go back.

Excellent yummy fresh food. They were so kind and accomodative. Don't be fooled by the smallish place the good taste and quality are excellent. Sometimes they don't answer phone. But they are a valid business and a hidden Gem!

This place is delicious food. Fresh bright crisp. They don’t skimp on hard to find ingredients like kefir lime leaves that add authentic taste of their food. Very recommended.

My friend and I went on a 4hr hike and upon learning I've never had Thai, they had to take me to get some. We went here, it's a nice small spot, very homey area. The server attended up right away and brought us water, he patiently waited for me to place my order. Their Thai iced tea was amazing, I loved it and highly recommend it. For appetizers, we ordered the fresh summer rolls & Thai spicy chicken wings (they're not very spicy for people who can't take heat) & one friend ordered the Tom Yum soup as appetizer. I ordered the Praram Long Song w/ chicken, in the stir-fry section of the entrées. It was very good, though a new experience for me since I'm used to dinner being a salty meal and this was more of a sweet dinner, it was a very good different. One of my friends ordered Pad Thai noodles w/ chicken & the other Pad Thai noodles w/ beef. They didn't have the fried ice cream but it is fine because we were all full. Very nice place, very clean. Highly recommend.

Wow! Amazingly good! So full of flavor!! I loved everything! Ordered Thai tea, Tom Ka Soup, basil fried rice with chicken, calamari, curry puffs and noodle soup! Everything was hot and fresh! My only complaint is that the waiter stopped us from ordering more, but thank goodness he did! Lol we literally wanted to order the whole menu! But that was more than enough food for just two of us! I’m already planning my next visit! AND SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT!!!! We got the fried bananas with a honey drizzle and vanilla bean ice cream.. it was a great dessert! Can’t wait to try the rest! I really wanted the sticky coconut rice with mangos! Update September 2024 Still the best Thai around! They added a few new items to their menu! Come check them out! I added their new menu and hours to my photos!

Beyond New York

We stayed at an Airbnb down the block from Kanda House. The food was so good. I got the massaman curry, my husband got the Thai fried rice with chicken, and my friends got the Thai fried rice with shrimp and the pad-kee-mao with shrimp. We all tried each other’s food and it was so flavorful. I wasn’t expecting it to be that good as I’m from nyc and my expectations are already so high but this went above. We really enjoyed it!

Small indoor seating area. I had the chicken Panang curry I sub the veggies for just broccoli with sticky rice, it was DeVine! About medium spice if you don't ask for any spice modification. My husband described the broth or soup part as bisque"y" as in, it has that spice that hits the back of your throat. He had the pad-see-ew he said it was perfect he's not used to having "beans" in it but it was good. Now my "beans" is because he has no idea what they were and failed to show me. Thai tea always an excellent treat. Downside there is no beer we really like the Thai beer with our meal but it was still delightful never the less, will return again.

The server was really nice; the drunken noodles were spicy and well-seasoned; and the place was really clean. A nice, quaint Thai spot in the area with a really great lunch special. The spot felt homely and everything was as I liked. 10/10

Amazing thai food and fast and friendly service. I love their pad thai and the drunken noodles. Also the restaurant doesn't typically get very busy for eat-in so it's cozy and relaxing to eat there rather than takeout. Would recommend!

My new local favorite! The staff on the phone was super helpful in answering my questions about whether dishes were vegetarian and specifications to the dishes. The Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai were delish and spicy (as requested).

M

This place in BOMB!! By far the highest quality Thai food I have found in the area and the prices on the lunch menu are an absolute steal. The Pad-Kee Mao, Steamed Dumplings, and Thai Iced Tea are incredible, though you gon’ getcha sugar on the latter. Staff is always friendly and smiling and service is quick.

C

We love this place! So happy we found it: honestly the best chicken pad Thai I’ve ever had. We’ll be regular customers for sure

C

Our family thoroughly enjoyed having lunch at Kanda House Thai Kitchen. A welcome addition to Cornwall! We ordered the Fresh Summer Rolls (two orders for the table) -- refreshing and delicious! Our son ordered Pad Prik Khing and his response was "it's the best Thai food I have ever eaten in my life!" My husband ordered the Drunken Noodle Pad Kee-Mao -- the smokey flavors were delicious and each bite unique to the ingredients. Lastly, the kids ended the meal with fried ice cream -- you should have seen their faces when it arrived! We definitely will be returning! Thank you!

This is the most authentic thai food anywhere in the hudson valley. The service is always the best and the food is priced very reasonable. The atmosphere is very intimate and takeout/call-ahead is also a great idea.

You can't get more authentic Thai food than this place. I've been to Thailand and all the flavors I've had here are identical. From drunken noodle to the spices used in the fried rice with chicken, to the Thai-style iced tea. Everything is delicious and they can easily cater to your preference, such as adjusting spiciness and kinds of meat to put in. Prices aren't cheap, but it's absolutely worth it. It will certainly impress your significant other. It's quiet, friendly, and easy to get to in the middle of main street.

My family and I have been going here since moving to the area and we've never had a bad experience with the food. The service is wonderful and the restaurant is well kept. The prices are very reasonable and they give generous portions. They've got options for vegetarians and those who love spicy or savory dishes. The coconut soup is wonderful on a cold day and is one of my personal favorite things they serve along with the pad kraee. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping by for a good meal!

Everything deliciously made to order with freshest ingredients. Such a nice owner! The place is small, but definitely worth the wait -- or call ahead for carry out if you want a fun and different picnic at the park or to eat at home. Generous portions may mean leftovers --what could be better? Try something you've never had before-- they do it all well here!

K
Kaushik Narayanan

Tasty Thai food-great service. We are vegetarian and called ahead to ask if they could make the curries without fish/squid/oyster sauce. They asked us what curries we would like so they could make the paste from scratch and be ready when we arrived. Definitely come back again.

So happy to have discovered this hidden gem! Had no idea such great Thai food existed right here in Cornwall. Obviously in the age of COVID, we did takeout and when we picked up, the host was wearing a mask and gloves and our food was packed up perfectly ready to go. The food itself was incredible - very fresh and flavorful, even rivaling some places I frequent in NYC. This was my parents’ first time having Thai food in ages and they loved it. We will definitely be making this a recurring spot we order from!

What a gem to find in Cornwall, NY. My first time visiting the town and by chance I came across this incredible restaurant.Everything is fresh, clean and delicious. The gentleman who took my order etc was absolutely pleasant, polite, and kind. Coming from NYC I am exposed to many Thai restaurants and I have to say Kanda is better than most of the top ones you find in the City. Highly highly highly recommend.

Dear Kanda House. Thank you so much for the always delicious and authentic Thai food. You guys are the best Thai restaurant in the area and you never disappoint. We've been dining here for years after moving from NYC and are thankful to have a go-to for truly yummy Thai noodles. I'm sure we're not the only the patrons who wish you'd maybe consider offering delivery... xoxo

I did a Grubhub order shrimp appetizer, chicken satay and a noodle dish. Let me tell you, everything came HOT and fresh and well packed. Especially safety for delivery. It was so flavorful and they don’t skimp on ingredients. Well worth the price for the quality food you never expected to receive! Love it. Will be ordering more often!

Comida fresca, deliciosa y excelente.

¡Ven a verlos! ¡He añadido su nuevo menú y horario a mis fotos!

Nice... I enjoy the Pad See Ew, great taste, just a little oily. The Fried dumplings again were full of flavour, unfortunately overcooked. The service was ok and I would probably go again if I was back in the area.

Good food. Nice atmosphere albeit a little cold feeling. Would recommend. Service took a long time and food came in shifts so one dish would get cold while waiting for other dishes. Still would go back though.

Overall, food was good…server was a bit quiet…and the radio music really set the aesthetic. Good experience

R

The appetizers were amazing. We ordered the spicy wings which had a great crunch and were fresh and tender. For the entrees we got ginger stir fry and pad gra prow. The pad gra pow had a lot more sauce so it was more flavorful but overall the entrees were pleasing. The dessert was delicious. The fried banana tasted like crème brûlée and was portioned great. The mango was not as flavorful but still very good. We went on a Wednesday so it was chill and quiet so we felt we had to whisper but maybe with more people it would not be that way. Overall, highly recommend and will be returning.

M

Great local place! Food is good and the staff is nice. I think they should put salt and sugar on the tables though so we don't have to ask when you need it. Have tried different dishes and they have all been really good.

R

Delicious curry! Very small place though, and only seats about 14 at most. It is also BYOB. Service was super friendly and nice, but it was a little bit slow since there was only one waitress. Any cons about this place though are made up for by their absolutely delicious food.

S

Stopped here after having a couple people recommend their Thai (plus not many options up here for Thai food). We placed the order and they told us specifically to pick up at 710pm. Arrived at 510pm and paid and it was ready around 530. No big deal. The food was packaged great and included everything we ordered and everything we needed to enjoy our meal. The flavors tasted authentic and the food was cooked decent. I just thought the portions were a bit small for the price.

Bien...

Schedule of the restaurant is not reliable . It could be Saturday at 6:30pm and is closed without a sign or notice .

A
Arthur Lasko

Pad Thai not particularly tasty. Needed lots of pepper sauce. Service was slow and a little weird.

R
Rob Jones

Nice enough after a few tries, but the dishes really lacked the full flavor of Thai dishes. Pad Thai is decent , curries and fried rice on the bland side. Spring rolls were great! They definitely listened to the dietary issues of my dining partners (gluten freee, vegetarian, vegan)

B
Brian Mcgowan

I feel bad leaving a review like this but this is hands down the least flavorful thai food we've ever had. We wanted to try something different I'm Orange County other than Warwick Thai (also not good) sp we drove 35.mins to get Kanda house. Very disappointed. The proprietors seem very nice but man is this food bland.

V
Vanessa Donnelly (Nessa)

This restaurant would have less stars but I'm trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. I ordered chicken pad thai. It really had very very little flavor. The lime they stuck in the container was really the only flavor the pad Thai had. :(. Disappointing. The spring rolls were ok, but I prefer peanut dipping sauce to the chili sauce. I would NOT recommend the pad Thai at all. I will try something else one more time and see how it is. Fingers crossed.

R
Rosileidi Felix

We ordered a Thai fried rice and it was so soggy and mushy, we couldn’t even eat it. I gave them two stars bc my drunken noodles were good.

D
David Goodwin

I don’t like leaving negative reviews as I know the restaurant business is a lot of work, and anyone can have a bad day. Nevertheless, we had a very poor experience. We ordered one of the soups, I suspect it was from a can with undercooked vegetables thrown in. But significantly worse was it’s FOUL odor!!! I’m mad at myself for not leaving then, I wanted to give it a chance, thinking maybe the next entrees would be OK. Both the curry dish and the veggie were awful. Not as bad an odor as the soup, but it was like food that had been leftover and re-heated, with some random vegetables thrown in. The physical surrounding, tables, etc.is OK, but the atmosphere is vacuous. I suspect the waiter and cashier is also the cook. Food probably just old Ang reheated.re-heated. I’m sorry to have to write this but the food was barely edible and the odor troubling. ##Amended: While I’ve never experienced such while dining at other Thai restaurants I’ve just learned that some Thai foods/ingredients have especially bad odors. Resembling bowel discharge. The foul odor we encountered is apparently due to certain ingredients and not something gone bad. Thank you

R
Ryan Carrigan

If you want to get food poisoning, then this is a place for you. I had the red curry and couldn't stop throwing it up

J
Jasie Buzzell

I honestly wish I can give 0 stars. I was so polite on the phone when ordering drove 20 mins to pick up because I really wanted chicken pad Thai so bad repeated my order to the guy three times with witnesses around me. I go pick up yes my fault for not checking the bag. But when I call to tell the guy hey I got the wrong items I ordered two chicken pad Thai he told me no I didn't and that I was (lying to my face) and that I was being rude. I wasn't even being rude until he started yelling at me over the phone I have no reason to lie what so ever I was even willing to work with him so he doesn't loose out on money. I ask for the manger at that point he says there isn't no manager I asked for his name said it was Daniel to later find out he's the owner. We ended up still going back even though we were mad because we were hungry and the chicken we got we didn't want we didn't even know what it is. When we got there he started going off on us called me a liar and so many other things. All I asked for was apologize. But the one thing that really got me going was he told my mom she needed to go back to African from where she came from. First all my moms not even African she's Spanish. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE EVERY AGAIN AND POST THIS ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA.

Nasty food seriously the best Thai Food is in Thornwood NY. D Thai Kitchen... I’ve tried Thai food in the Bronx, Manhattan, Beacon Ny and today Cornwall ny. It was the most nasty food ever.

Got takeout so I can't comment on the service or atmosphere, but the food was bad. Virtually no flavor in any of the three dishes we ordered. Very surprising and disappointing because I had high hopes based on the overall reviews for this place. Save your money and go somewhere else for Thai. Would not recommend.
