Las Palmas Tex-Mex Dallas Reviews
What an amazing place to visit! The service and food are top notch. If you're not familiar with the menu, no problem! The team is more than happy to guide you through it. The cocktails are exceptionally well crafted , the 'Martinez' is an amazing cocktail that I just couldn't get enough of! Daniela, Jagger, and Jason provided absolutely amazing service with unparalleled professionalism. As for the food, honestly, everything is delicious! I started with some appetizers and followed with the Hugo platter, which was truly incredible!! I'm not kidding, Las Palmas will leave you over the moon! Las Palmas is place that a must visit when you're in Dallas. Special thanks to Jesus!
First time here and let me say Tex-mex/Mexican food is always questionable for me but this restaurant really exceeded my expectations. Our server, Chance, was very attentive and professional from beginning to end. Food overall was great the Wagyu fajitas accompanied by the marrow butter had lots of flavor and definitely worth the money. Drinks are great too the old fashioned and ranch waters are recommended but the rest of the cocktail menu is just as good.
If you ever hear me say I want a margarita I’m specifically talking about the Las Palmas jalapeño margarita with a tajin rim. Hands down best in the area. The food here is amazing I really like the chimichanga 😅 and the chips/ guac! I prefer the upstairs dining room, over all my favorite Tex mex in Dallas
Easily the best service I have ever had: our waiter George was extremely helpful and friendly, and just had a attentive, efficient, and direct demeanor with all his interactions. I can only eat pescatarian at most restaurants and rice and beans in Mexican cuisine is often made with meat products. As soon as I asked him whether they were vegetarian, he reassured me they were fine but immediately informed me to stay away from the flour tortillas because they are made with lard here. Not only that, he came by and sat down with us patiently to make sure we ordered both something that fit our dietary restrictions but also tasted great. Some items he suggested still had some meat products (like bone marrow butter), but he reassured he would let the kitchen know and make sure it was made perfectly for us. Unfortunately, the dish my brother was received had lukewarm, almost cold shrimp, and when we raised our concerns, he no questions asked, immediately got a new one made. When we received the bill, we were pleasantly surprised to see management refunded my brother's dish completely, which honestly was not necessary at all. Best waiter I have ever had, please give him a raise!! Atmosphere was nice, street parking is easily available right behind the restaurant on a weeknight. I will say though, when it comes to the taste, I don't think this place is as good as it is hyped to be. Always heard great things from friends, reviews are amazing too, but I have definitely had better at cheaper places. I got the shrimp salad with rice and beans and it all tasted fine, and I liked that I got more than expected shrimp. That's not to say the food was bad, I would say it was good, not great. Service was still amazing though, and because of that, I would come back to try other stuff here.
One of the best. Luis is my favorite bartender in Dallas! Makes the BEST cocktail I’ve ever had (Mexican Candy Martini) and is so friendly. Knew me by name the second time he helped me. Patio is spectacular (except for these flies that kept biting us last night?) and you have to get the Waygu fajitas. Could split an order between two girls easily. Manny took great care of us last night. Make a reservation or be prepared to wait! I always valet because life is too short.
Great dinner place . Was packed on a friday at 7 and we had to wait for an hour but we were near the bar so that helped🍸🥃 Tried several of the drinks and all were great Nachos and tacos had good flavor and portion size. We were seated outside on the patio and it was hot but sun was going down so cooled off a bit Overall was a nice experience. Server was very nice and quick with orders with great recommendation for dessert. The sopapilla cheesecake delicious. Will have to come back and see if we can sit inside
Wow!! This place was amazing.. the food was so so good! The cocktails are neat and you can get them cheaper during happy hour. The queso flamedo is a must try- they set the cheese on fire in front of you and it’s not only a neat show but then they roll it up in tortillas for you and it’s sooooo good! Sad im only visiting and can’t come back!
Las Palmas Tex-Mex has become our new favorite spot in Dallas. The cocktails are carefully and finely crafted—finally, a place where they don't taste like sugar. We sat at the bar and saw how much they worry about the details. We met the manager, Agustin, who is a fantastic gentleman. We're looking forward to talking with him again. The place was incredibly populated on a Monday; I can't imagine how it would be on the weekends. Delicious everything. Truly a great hidden gem in Dallas!
Our son recommended Las Palmas in Uptown and it was a pleasant dining experience from the drinks at the bar before dinner to the dining on the patio. It was busy on a Thursday night so I would recommend reservations. Loved how the salt on the margarita glass was on the side and not around the rim. Traditional margarita with patron was really good. They brought out crispy chips and two salsas (both yummy). Ordered white queso for an app which was just the right texture. We split the wagyu fajitas for our main entree- way too much for the two of us. The flour tortillas were amazing and the beef was perfectly cooked. They give us plenty of fixin’s for the fajitas. We thought we should try the tres leches cake. That was not what we expected - it was pretty but didn’t care for the frosting - made it too too sweet so I guess that is one thing I wouldn’t recommend although if you have a real sweet tooth, you may love it. We had a great attendant Jose - he was very attentive his service was spot on. We had a wonderful experience at Las Palmas… definitely recommend you try it out!
Loved this restaurant. The food, drinks, and staff were excellent. Did I mention the food was excellent. Grab some friends, get a reservation, and prepare for a great time. Parking can be tough, but they offer free valet service, so no need to worry.
I had never been here and got invited for a work lunch. I’ll just get to it… I was SO amazed, yes that’s the word. The food was so so good. I actually had low expectations because of other Tex Mex restaurants in the past. So I just got cheese enchiladas but let me tell you something, those enchiladas were top tier. All eight of us LOVED our food. I’ve lived in Texas a long time so you can call me an expert when it comes to Tex Mex. This restaurant is hands down one of the best. And not to mention the service and the atmosphere was so nice, the lights were low which presented a luxury dining experience. If you haven’t been GO!
Outstanding! One of the best Tex-mex restaurants in the metroplex. You have to stop by for lunch or dinner. Great service with a wonderful menu selection. Spicy margarita is excellent. Don’t pass up the Waygu beef fajitas, queso, and shrimp skewers. Fast service, chips and salsa delivered as you sit down. The staff is attentive and works hard to make your experience truly remarkable. Management regularly checks to see how things are going. They take great pride in getting it right. Great vibe and atmosphere.
What a cool place for some great Mexican food. The food and service were top notch and the atmosphere is cool. The only complaint that I would have is that it's very dimly lit in the restaurant. It makes it difficult to see the menu and your food. Other than that everything was spot on. Try the brisket birriria tacos, they're awesome!
I met a friend for lunch this week and one of his suggestions was Las Palmas. He mentioned that the interiors was great, his words "think Lucille Ball 1950s". That seems pretty accurate. I was killing some time so got there around 1:30, parking is around back and there was ample spaces. Walking into the restaurant it took some time for my eyes to adjust because it is very dark and Moody inside. I really liked the ambiance! It has a very grand masculine vibe. Think Mad Men. The bar is well appointed and has ample seating, I sat at the bar and had a mimosa and some chips while I waited for my friend. The chips were served with two different salsas, both have a very good flavor. When my friend arrived we moved to a booth, our server was very friendly and informative and to great care of us. And chatting about the history of the location it had only been Las Palmas for 3 years, from the interiors it feels like this place has been around forever. I think it's been several other reiterations of restaurants in the past. We ordered queso which was good, we probably could have done with a cup because the bowl was pretty substantial. I ordered the seafood enchiladas that came with rice and beans. It was really delicious, the sauce was delectable and there were really scrumptious pieces of seafood throughout the enchilada. They also had a nice outdoor area as well, I will definitely be back for some patio dining soon. My friend mentioned they have a really nice private dining area upstairs and usually have a really good happy hour crowd. He raves about their margaritas. Great experience, highly recommend Las Palmas for some tasty Tex Mex. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We love eating here! Always make reservations if it’s Friday - Saturday. Low lit, beautiful ambiance, excellent service, outdoor area, full bar to sit and eat, downstairs and upstairs. The food has never disappointed from the soup, fajitas, shrimp tacos, drinks, etc.
Las Palmas is a fantastic Tex-Mex option in Dallas. When you walk in, you are greeted with a great ambiance. We then ordered margaritas and queso which were very well done. The margaritas are strong and well priced at happy hour. We then got the combo fajita platter which had shrimp, chicken, and steak. The steak fajitas were some of the best I have ever had. I will get the steak only fajitas next time because of how good they are. My only complaint was that I didn’t love the salsa. Overall, Las Palmas is a place I will definitely return to. Note- Get a reservation early in advance because they fill up quickly.
Had a great time here last night. We arrived late so there was ~1:20 wait but we were lucky to get seats at the bar right away. Cesar was a great host to my daughter, wife and me as he provided his recommendations for food & drinks. I really liked that the bar had plenty of staff to get us drinks promptly and made us feel welcomed. I can’t wait to be back in town so I can visit this gem of a spot again. Great job!
10/10 experience from start to finish My wife and I came in for dinner and decided to sit at the bar, which turned out to be a fantastic choice. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive. The drinks were exceptional and full of flavor. We started with the chips and salsa, which were fresh and perfectly seasoned. It’s clear that attention is paid to even the smallest details here. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend.
We had sat outside, with it being chilly they had big heaters outside to keep us warm. Our waitress was amazing we waited a little bit but i would say it was worth the wait, we didn’t have a reservation. The food was amazing, the drinks were made with love and valet parking made everything easy. We will be back! Food was phenomenal.
Complementary chips and salsa to start normally would be easy to overlook, I learned they’re homemade and absolutely stellar. Smokey, nice spice level, abundant crispy well seasoned chips, two fresh salsa 10/10. Ordered the wagyu fajita tacos, with bone marrow butter. They were spectacular, tender, plenty of tortillas, rice and refried beans (not usually my favorite) that actually had great flavor. Mexican rice, pico, and guacamole elevated the fajita experience. I preferred the corn to the flower tortillas, personal preference. Margaritas were skinny (no simple syrup), had a touch of salt, and tasted familiar and classic. Attentive service, enjoyable atmosphere/ambiance (refreshed hacienda style with a modern feel). If you haven’t been, go, you won’t regret it. Full Disclosure: I’m not affiliated in any way with the restaurant, came to Dallas for work.
I am not one to normally do reviews but this restaurant exceeded our expectations! The ambience is so fun and we were waited on spectacularly. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the shrimp and lobster enchiladas and they were absolutely delicious! The chips and salsa were full a flavor and we overindulged before our meals. My husband had the brisket enchiladas with the fried egg on top. He stated they were amazing. The manager checked in with us during our meal where we expressed our thankfulness for a great evening. He returned with an order of drinks for us on the house saying he wanted to ensure we had an excellent evening. We will definitely be back any time we visit Dallas!
Las Palmas has a beautiful atmosphere with dark, romantic lighting that feels lively without being too quiet. It’s a great spot to sit at the bar for a drink—perfect for a first date (at the bar) or even a double date (dining at a table). The NY Sour was perfectly made, and our server was very attentive throughout the night. While the menu is on the expensive side, the portions are generous and definitely worth the price.
One of the best texmex food in Dallas and I’ve returned so many times. Fajitas is the best and love all the drinks on the menu. But you will need reservations for dinner. The wait is pretty long without one!
The finest single location Tex-Mex Restaurant in Dallas. This family owned location is without equal. The huge home is an oasis for dining. The moment you enter the foyer and are welcomed graciously, you know a magnificent experience is to follow. The main dining room is set under a two story ceiling appointed with large wooden beams. The central bar is adjacent and seating surrounding. Each addition room is equally decorated to match. Look for the corner with a tribute to legendary history and noteworthy information. Old Dallas residents like me will recognize the individuals pictured! The atmosphere is a warm lit and elegant environment. The service is superb and nonstop. Every detail is executed by waiter and staff. Don’t be surprised if the management and owners stop by your table to confirm all is meeting expectations. The food is delicious. The menu is so varied that you want to order some of everything. I am providing pictures to illustrate some of the outstanding choices we made. The drinks from the bar are artistic and not short on substance. The sopapilla cheesecake is a Must dessert. I cannot recommend this true Tex-Mex restaurant enough. Hope to see you there .
Food was very flavorful and portions are enormous (I'm visiting from NY so take my portion comments with that context). The staff was very friendly and helpful. There were limited vegetarian options but everything was delicious. They provide chips and salsa to start. The salsaz were a bit smokey for my taste but the chips were fresh and perfectly salted. Vegetarian queso was good. Elote was great! Also really enjoyed the morrisey plate (big portion!). Consider making a reservation. They have a nice outdoor seating area but when I arrived at 430pm there was a wait.
Ask for Ruben Sierra he’s service was amazing and down to wart I’ve worked in service industry for years and ran restaurants as management and would love to have a guy like Ruben is really an all star. He knew the menu and had great recommendations!!! He’s a keeper
Las Palmas isn't just a Dallas legend. It's a non-negotiable. The second you walk in, you're home. And if Domy is at the door, your night has officially peaked early. Her hugs should come with a warning label because they instantly reset your nervous system. She remembers you, radiates joy, and delivers the kind of hospitality that feels personal, not performative. Seeing her again is enough of a reason to consistently to come back. She is a national treasure. Then Andrea stopped by our table and casually changed the trajectory of the evening. She offered to send out an appetizer. What arrived was an appetizer parade complete with guac, queso, habanero salsa, and bacon-wrapped shrimp. At that point we weren't dining, we were being emotionally supported. She was phenomenal at her craft. It genuinely inspires me to see such exceptional talent. The food is dialed in every single time. Chips perfectly salted. Salsas elite, especially the rojo which deserves federal protection. My forever order is the sour cream enchiladas and a mango frozen margarita. If consistency were a sport, Las Palmas would be undefeated. Period. Inside the ambiance is moody, cinematic, date-night gold. The bar is always buzzing and the perfect place to hard launch new best friends you met on a random Monday. The place is always packed because it earns it. Five stars. No notes. If Las Palmas ever isn't busy, check on Dallas.
If I could give our experience 10 stars I would. My wife and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary today and we drove from Oklahoma for the weekend. We stopped for lunch on a recommendation of a friend. This was by far the best experience we have ever had in Dallas. Not only was the food amazing, our waiter, the staff, and Tony the manager were so kind and made our day amazing! It was a beautiful restaurant and experience, and we can’t wait to go back. Thank you Las Palmas for making our 10 year anniversary unforgettable!
This place was recommended by many of locals and it did not disappoint. Best fajitas we've ever had and a great happy hour menu. Chili con queso was a great side dish. Side hack, add this chili con questo to your fajita's for the ultimate bite! We will be back to this restaurant when we visit Dallas again.
Good quality mesquite chicken, beef fajitas, charro beans. Loved the 2 salsas that are served with chips at the table while waiting for your order. Good refried beans. The handmade flour tortillas were great and different than what you normally get at a Tex-Mex restaurant. I didn’t like the guacamole so much. Pretty plain. Our server was flat and unconcerned about being friendly. However, the staff was quick to correct an ordering mistake on our part and was gratuitous and kind about the error. I loved the authentic Texas style decor inside.
This was the perfect location—we drove all the way from Frisco, and it was absolutely worth it. The food and the drinks were absolutely delicious, and the ambiance of the restaurant was wonderful. The greeters made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our waiters were superb, and the manager Andrea, made our birthday celebration truly special. Overall, it was an excellent experience. Highly recommend.
A MUST DO when visiting Dallas. Great atmosphere and tender, flavorful meats (such as birria and al carbon experiences ), freshly made tortillas and salsas, and the ability of simple ingredients to achieve complex flavor profiles through skillful cooking…. Ahhh and the FREE entry Corn Chips are simply AMAZING!!!. Add queso!!!
Shrimp and lobster enchiladas were delicious, great flavor. Margaritas are overpriced and small but good. Look for free street parking, the lot right across is $15 but valet takes forever. We didn't have a reservation for 2, told wait is 45 mins to 1 hour but waited only ten mins.
What an absolutely amazing experience!! I cant believe we haven’t been here before! My wife and I celebrated our 4-year wedding anniversary here and we couldn’t have asked for more! Service was impeccable, both salsas were legit. Wife loved her margarita, and my pina colada mocktail was legit! I had to try the wagyu fajitas with bone marrow butter….wow. Just wow. SO good!! Wife have the Barbara plate with enchiladas and a wagyu beef crispy taco and it was off the charts good!! Vibe, decor, all solid. The GM, brought us a celebratory Sopapilla cheesecake with a candle that blew us away!!! WOW!! The layers of flavor!! We can’t wait to go back, thank you!!
Great atmosphere and service. Delicious meat and butter housemade sauce. Valet parking very efficient and waitress attentive to costumers. Waiting time might be longer than expected due to popularity suggest reservation prior to arriving however walk ins are welcome and could get a table if you are lucky. Good place to celebrate
Came with my friend for lunch and we enjoyed our time here. If you can’t find parking on the street, there’s additional parking at the back of the restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice but a little dark once you’re seated and ready to eat. Our waitstaff was attentive and we didn’t have to wait long for food or drinks. I ordered a guacamole appetizer and frozen strawberry margarita and my friend ordered a spicy margarita. The guacamole was delicious and drinks hit the spot! We both ordered the fajita fiesta (half order) with corn tortillas. The meats (steak, chicken, and shrimp) were cooked perfectly (butter poured over meal) and made for a nice meal. The half order was the perfect size for lunch! We ordered additional rounds of our initials drinks and continued to enjoy the food.
Anthony runs the bar at Las Palmas with a real customer-first mindset. He genuinely takes care of you whether it’s remembering your drink, checking in at the right moment, or making sure your table has everything it needs without you having to ask. The drinks are always dialed, the energy is right, and you can tell he leads with hospitality first. It never feels transactional, it feels taken care of.
We had an incredible experience at Las Palmas Tex-Mex in Dallas — it completely lived up to the buzz and then some. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance hit all the right notes: relaxed yet elevated, with warm lighting, welcoming service, and a beautiful patio setting that felt unmistakably Texan. We started with their creamy queso, which came loaded with jalapeños and melty cheese — rich, comforting, and clearly made for sharing. The chips and salsa were outstanding: you get both a verde and a red salsa, and both had deep flavor with just the right amount of heat. Fresh toppings like chopped onions and cilantro elevated each bite. For mains, I ordered the brisket birria tacos, and they were spot-on — juicy, flavorful, and wrapped in lightly crisped tortillas that held together beautifully. The portion was generous and deeply satisfying. My wife had the fajita combo, which was served sizzling and then drizzled with bone marrow juice at the table — easily one of the most flavorful fajita presentations we’ve had anywhere. Every element was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Service was excellent — attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly — and the portions were hearty without being overwhelming. Las Palmas strikes a great balance between modern flair and traditional Tex-Mex comfort, making it a perfect choice whether you’re visiting Dallas or live here. Pro tip: come hungry and try the bone marrow fajita — it’s a standout. Verdict: 5 stars. We’ll definitely be back.
Friend and I went on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and it was amazing! The food was great and the service was amazing- but I really want to shout out whoever was bartender and made our classic frozen margaritas. I don’t usually order alcohol but I am so happy I did when I was there! Overall, great place and definitely recommend it!
Had dinner NYE at Las Palmas, had to make a reservation a few weeks in advance but was well worth the wait! Everything from the salsas to the brisket flautas to the prime NY strip steak with jalapeño butter and the sopapilla cheesesteak at the end. Not to mention the house margarita was one of the best I have ever had. Absolutely amazing meal!!!!! Will be back soon. This is my new celebration restaurant!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent food, service, and atmosphere! My wife and I stopped in for lunch for our very first visit, and it won’t be our last! The cozy atmosphere and background music made it feel warm and inviting. The chips and salsa were amazing, and the queso was creamy, cheesy, and full of flavor. At the owner’s suggestion, we shared the ½ order of ribs, perfectly seasoned, served over a bed of fries with charro beans on the side. We finished with sopapilla cheesecake à la mode. Perfectly baked and absolutely delicious. Everything about this meal was fantastic. We’ll definitely be back and will be telling others!
Wow! Great food, great atmosphere and great service! 30 minute wait - yet sat at the bar. There’s two bars within the restaurant. House margaritas weren’t strong but weren’t weak - perfect. Chips and salsa were plentiful - for just one diner (just me). Salsas were very good! Chips tasted homemade! Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful experience at Las Palmas! The staff was extremely courteous and attentive from start to finish. When my daughter ordered queso, we quickly realized it was far too spicy for her to enjoy. Without hesitation, the team kindly comped the dish—even though my son was practically licking the bowl clean because he loved it so much. Many of their dishes do lean on the spicier side, but I found them to be absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The ambience is hip, stylish, and fun—perfect for a night out. I’m already looking forward to patio weather so I can come back and sip on a margarita while soaking it all in!
Had dinner here with a friend and had an amazing time. We didn’t have a reservation, but walked up on a Wednesday afternoon was told that there was going to be an hour late, but was quickly seated after 10 minutes. We got to enjoy the patio and it was super comfortable with the heaters. The food and service was amazing was really impressed by the chips and queso. I ordered the steak fajitas and my friend got the tacos. We were impressed by both dishes.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Las Palmas is amazing! My fiancé Larry and I are new to the area, and this is now our favorite Tex-Mex spot in Uptown. When we first walked in, it was a little dark and we didn’t see that the bar wrapped around. Luis noticed us right away, said hi, and invited us to the other side of the bar where he had two seats ready for us. That made us feel so welcome. Luis took time to talk with us and explain the menu, and our bartender Soji was fantastic. We enjoyed the 2–6 happy hour and had a skinny margarita and an El Diablo—so good! We usually order fajitas, but we tried the #4 Barbara combo instead. Wow! The taco, sour cream enchilada, and chili con carne enchilada were all delicious. The chips and hot sauce were on point too. We are so happy to have Las Palmas within walking distance. If you’re in Uptown, you have to check this place out! 🌮🍹
Amazing from the start. They said it would be a 45 minute wait but had us at a table in 20 minutes. The dim lighting made the space feel so cozy. The service was great, although I’m sure she kept coming back often to listen to the drama we were speaking ( I would be too). The NY sour was THE drink and everything we had ordered was a 10/10. The wagyu for the fajitas was cooked to perfection. I normally hate driving into Dallas, but this place would convince me to come back.
Last minute pivot to Las Palmas Tex-Mex for lunch on a Sunday and we weren't disappointed. Inside, it’s dark, moody, and full of that old-school Tex-Mex vibe that makes you want to settle in, order a cocktail or margarita, and stay awhile. We started with the queso, and it set the tone right away, warm, creamy, and exactly what queso ought to be. The birria beef tacos were rich and flavorful, with tender meat that tasted like it had been simmering all morning. Messy in the best way. The burger was a pleasant surprise. You don’t always expect a standout burger at a Tex-Mex spot, but this one held its own, juicy, well-seasoned, and satisfying. The fajitas had good steak and big shrimps. The red snapper tacos were also a hit. Las Palmas feels like the kind of place folks have been coming to for years and for good reason. It’s lively, a little loud, full of character, and serves Tex-Mex that knows exactly what it’s supposed to be.
We went in for dinner but due to the wait time we decided to start with some drinks at the bar. We were able to get seating at the bar and dine there. The food was really tasty and the pottions are big enough to share among 2-3 people. The drinks were also fantastic so its a 100% recommended spot! The bartenders were super attentive and really nice and the decor of the place is really vibrant and fun. A must go spot !
My partner wanted to surprise me with a romantic lunch. Somewhere new, nice, and honestly price was not an issue. He sent me the amazing Google reviews and as Mexican as I am- I was speechless on the delivery of the experience. From Luis our amazing Waiter, to one of their managers (forgot her name) - everyone was attentive, we never waited for Luis or had once single complaint from any of the staff helping refill, pick up plates. My partner had the wagyu fajitas which he loved. BUT I am the one in surprise mode when I decide to get fish, I don’t eat fish, has never been in my food palate. However, I decided to try the red snapper, and OH EM GEEEE I LOVED EVERY SINGLE BITE. I was so obsessed with the flavor, soft flakiness, the skin crunch, the sauce around it that I totally forgot I had rice and beans. The ambience is so low lighting inside and I’m here for it when it comes to romantic lunch or dinner. They do have patio seating as well. I truly feel this is a place to enjoy and we will definitely be back! PS. Try their Sopapilla cheesecake with an ice cream scoop, take it in with their espresso. Chef’s kiss to the ending of our romantic lunch.
Las Palmas has quickly become a favorite of mine. My girlfriend and I came here after a long day of moving into Uptown Dallas and have been hooked ever since. The chips and queso blanco is a must order. It’s addicting with just the right amount of spice from jalapeños. For entrees, I’ve enjoyed the red snapper tacos, birria brisket tacos, chicken tinga tacos, brisket enchiladas, and tacos al carbón with Wagyu. The drinks are great too, I like the house margarita and mezcal Negroni. They have a pristine selection of liquor, especially tequila. Service is consistent and polite, I’ve never ran out of chips and salsa or been hungry waiting for my food. The atmosphere inside is dark and moody, good for a date night. Highly recommend.
Wow wow wow. Loved this place. I was worried it was hyped up for nothing but nope, this place deserves the hype. Their wagyu fajitas literally melt in your mouth. The queso is ehhh in my opinion, the green salsa though? DELICIOUS and included with the chips. The guacamole is also nothing to brag about. The drinks are very strong and consistent. Those bartenders know what they’re doing! Every single employee that I’ve encountered here from the bar to dine in sitting and even the host stand has been helpful. Service is top notch. The atmosphere is nice as well, especially late in the evening when the dinner rush has ended. Parking was easy to find considering the location. This is a great place to visit if you enjoy tex mex food, but not a “must visit” Dallas restaurant.
A friend invited me here, and when we arrived, it was immediately clear that this is a popular place with a lot of people. We were seated quickly and brought menus, water, chips, and salsa. We came…

Fantastic experience, some of the best food, service and ambience I have experienced in a restaurant. If you are in Dallas you have to go! Thank you to our waiter Julio.

Food was delicious, service was great, cocktails were pretty disappointing. The taco salad (picadillo) was surprisingly delicious but the brisket enchiladas were incredible. You have to try them. But maybe stick to beer or wine when you do! Using bad cachaça is common, I fully expected that. But a caipirinha should absolutely have sugar in it. We legit had to ask for sugar packets to fix the drink. The spicy margarita was awful too, just a totally unbalanced trainwreck. It tasted like your college dorm mate had an idea for a spicy cocktail and gave you a sip of the first one he ever made. Legit no body would take a sip of either of these cocktails and be OK with sending it to a table.
The wagyu fajitas were less than expected. Very chewy and not tender at all. The guacamole and quest Blanco were exceptional as was the salsa. Service was amazing. Great atmosphere.
Took my son here last night to celebrate his 40th birthday. Had a great time. Atmosphere was great. Food was amazing. Service was disappointing. I ordered a drink and was almost done when my waitress took my glass. Never asked me if I was done before taking my glass. Then didn't even asked if I would like another. Then when we were close to being done eating the waitress then tried to take my son's plate. You could see there was still food on the plate. My son stopped her and asked for 2 to go boxes. She brings us the boxes. Then as we are putting our meals in the boxes she then picks up our bowl of chips, that we had just gotten filled and removed it from the table. I would have liked to have taken those chips home they were so good and fresh. My son and I looked at each other and both made the comment "guess we weren't supposed to have those".
Very, very popular place. Our group went on a Thursday night, and without a reservation, it was an hour and a half wait. The ambience is really nice. The margarita was solid, and the queso was good. The ceviche was alright, but not amazing. They have an extensive menu at different price points, so you can order really fancy or something a bit more reasonably price for those who don't want to break the bank. Overall, I can see the appeal of the place.
Las Palmas Tex Mex: Tasty Kicks and Valet Woes Las Palmas Tex Mex offers a pretty solid culinary experience, with dishes that definitely bring the flavor – and a noticeable spicy kick! However, the overall visit had a few bumps in the road. Let's talk about the good stuff first. The Mexican Gin & Tonic (4 stars) was a refreshing start, boasting a great taste and a generous size. But the real star of the appetizers was the Seafood Ceviche (5 stars). It was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly seasoned. For my main, the Chicken Enchiladas (a resounding 5 stars!) were superb – easily a highlight of the meal. Prices were about what you'd expect for this type of establishment, so there are no surprises there. Our server, Andrea, was pleasant, but her presence was a bit sparse. We didn't see her much, and as a result, the service felt pretty slow. While the food was worth the wait, more attentive service would have definitely enhanced the experience. The restaurant's ambiance is on the darker side; it's dimly lit, which might be appealing to some, but I personally would have preferred a bit more light to appreciate the food and surroundings fully. Now for the less-than-stellar part of the evening: the valet service. They clearly fumbled entering my cell number, as I never received the text to call for my car. Thankfully, it was parked right out front, so retrieving it wasn't a huge ordeal. What was an ordeal, however, was finding my car absolutely covered in dust. There was construction across the street, and it looked like my car had taken a detour through it, even my tires were caked. That's definitely not the kind of send-off you want after a meal. In summary, Las Palmas Tex Mex delivers on tasty, spicy food, especially those fantastic chicken enchiladas and ceviche. Just be prepared for potentially slow service, and if you're using the valet, double-check that they've got your number right – unless you're a fan of a post-dinner car wash!
Long wait, hack is to put your name down go home and change and come back in an hour. The service was excellent, these waiters have eyes in the back of their heads when they can sense you’re low on chips and refill you quickly. Food was great, plenty of options just pricy. Recommend valet instead of paid parking lot which was $20. Great place to hang with friends or family.
I’ve wanted to visit Las Palmas in Dallas for over a year and finally made it over the weekend and it was well worth the wait. The ambiance was great, and the food was even better. The chips and salsa were some of the best I’ve had in a long time, and the taquitos were super flavorful. Be sure to ask about the off menu Chicken Caesar Wrap. Big enough for two! Our server lacked in several areas and seemed overwhelmed, but Junior (I believe that was his name) stepped in and took great care of us even though we weren’t in his section, it was done without us asking. On our return visit, I’ll definitely be requesting him. Overall, I’d give this place 4.5 stars and would absolutely come back.
Great drink and delicious eats. The house margaritas were very tasty and affordable. They have a tequila menu that I enjoyed perusing until I found what called my pallet the most. The wife had the red snapper and totally devoured her meal, lol. I got the #3 platter and was amazed at the flavor profiles and freshness of the ingredients. Environment was lively and filled with conversation. Will definitely return.

I saw all the 5 star reviews and decided to try them out, but it was a mistake. The parking is terrible and the lot around back has do not enter signs so we parked on the side (very dark). The staff are polite and well dressed but it’s so dark you can barely see. Our table wasn’t very comfortable due to the seat height and was in bad shape. The food is just okay. I was looking forward to 5 star and after drinks and an appetizer I had seen enough. 3 stars
I’ve tried about everything in their menu and I’m always pleased. The only food item that takes two stars away from me, are the salsas. Their salsa recipe has no flavor, it’s pure tomato. Not sure why they thought that would be considered Tex-mex but I hope it’s improved.
Went to Las Palmas Tex-Mex yesterday to celebrate my best friend Cam’s 29th birthday and decided to try their fajitas. I’ve heard from a lot of people that this spot has some of the best fajitas in Dallas, so my expectations were pretty high. Unfortunately, ours came out pretty dry. The restaurant was very busy, so that may have played a part. Overall it was an okay experience, but based on the hype, I was hoping for better fajitas.”

This place comes high recommended but the dining experience was below average. The food was good, on par with any average Tex mex restaurant. Drinks were strong. But that is where the pros end. One of our drinks was served in a dirty glass with visible lipstick print. The dining experience felt very rushed since they informed us that we had 2 hours to complete our meals and they came to our table and reminded us to leave at the end. The parking situation sucked unless you used valet which we ended up utilizing. There are tons of tex mex restaurants in Dallas to be treated like chicken in a factory - rush, packed and high churn.
We made reservations…we were seated by the kitchen. Not ideal to be right next to where staff are going in and out of kitchen. That made for a terrible dining experience. Staff were friendly. Flautas were charred, tasted burned. Chips and salsa were decent, not any better than most Mexican restaurants. Guacamole and white queso were decent but only enough for two. For the cost to dine here I was not impressed.
I have been to Las Palmas several times now and I would have previously given them high marks. However, my last experience has completely changed my mind. I would drive from Fort Worth all the way to Dallas just to eat here. Now I won't. On the particular recent Saturday we went to lunch, service was horrible, food did not have a great taste (tasted old) and 4 out of 7 of us got food related illness. I did call to report and discuss this with them directly, however, all you can do is leave a message. It has been 3 weeks and nobody in their management has cared enough to give a call back or attempt to make it right. They have now lost a customer and I'd recommend using caution when eating here. If something tastes off, don't trust it because you might end up as sick as we were.
I’m sad writing this review… but the worst Tex Mex I have had in Dallas. Service: I came here for my birthday with my partner, and I had high expectations due to the reviews and the long standing reputation. I am a frequent of Papasitos, and have been searching for a restaurant to replace them for my Tex Mex cravings. We had a reservation for 7:30 PM on a Monday, and it was FULL. We got seated fairly quickly, and waited quite a while for a waiter to arrive. After placing our drink orders, we were able to place our appetizer order only with the server who returned, who was different from the original. (Shared wait staff - this is fine by me). The issue with service was that since there was no specific owner for the section, we sat waiting a long time between drinks, apps, entrees, and check. The staff was kind. Drinks: I’m not sure what ratio / mix they are using in their margaritas, but I had a house frozen and a house on the rocks, and both were sour, unbalanced, and unpleasant to drink. The frozen was worse than the rocks, and I was really disappointed. My partner order a Coke and got a glass bottled, NON- Mexican Coke with high fructose corn syrup. Food: We ordered the queso fameado for appetizer, and I expected something like queso fundido, but this was not that. It was doused in some kind of flammable liquor and lit on fire, and tossed (fun for show, not for taste) and then placed into tortillas. The flavor was extremely salty and very greasy. I’ve had queso fundito with chorizo before, but this was just really unpalatable. We ordered the fajitas fiesta with chicken, shrimp, and steak. This was decent, but for $62 the portion was actually pretty small, and the two of us finished it easily. The shrimp was slightly overcooked, but the chicken and steak were fine. I kind of wanted to order desert, but we did not because the only thing which was actually great was the chips and salsa. I’m sad because I wanted to love Las Palmas, but I guess it’s back to Papasitos for us!
Honestly it really is a beautiful spot and the drinks were good but I was really disappointed with the food and this place is not worth the hype. I have had better food at more affordable places. Do not waste your time if your hungry. I tried the Waygu Fajitas, my daughter has the flautas and the cake which was dry.
Overall, the wait staff were great. It’s the rules that are stupid and the food is average. Our drink had lipstick on the rim ( not from us) drink was untouched. They told us they had a 2 hour limit, okay, during happy hour we order 2 drinks, say old fashions, that’s not enough time to sober up to drive home in 2 hours. At minimum, people sober up at about 1 drink per hour. Huge liability. They were honest about the time limit, but when I got there, but if I had to drive 1 hour in traffic, I’m not going somewhere else. Honestly it’s a liability if you expect your customers to drive home after 2 hours. This is mainly why I would never go back. Safety is an issue.
Food and atmosphere were enjoyable, but unfortunately the service completely overshadowed the experience. Our server took our order and cashed us out, but never checked on us beyond that. Drinks were delivered after we had already finished our meal, and all the food was run by someone else entirely. About 25 minutes after ordering bar drinks, the bartender came upstairs to ask if we had even ordered drinks then brought them shortly after. Which the drinks were watered down because they had been sitting at the bar so long waiting to be brought to us. Once our entrées were on the table, no one stopped by to see if we needed anything or to check on the quality of the meal. After another staff member pre bussed our table, a male manager in a suit approached, said nothing, and removed our chips while we were still eating them. Overall, there was a noticeable lack of hospitality and attentiveness. This was especially disappointing given how highly recommended the restaurant was and how rare it is for us to have a night out. We truly wanted to enjoy this experience, but the service fell well short of any expectations.
Overall, the price doesn’t match the quality of the food, so this place isn't a top-tier Tex-Mex restaurant in Dallas. If you grew up with no seasoning in your food, then you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. However, the service was good, and that’s why I stayed. Otherwise, I won’t eat here again. The drinks are not bad, but the amount you get for a margarita, which is basic, is crazy! People come for the decor and nothing more!
We walked in at 4:15pm CST and walked out at 4:50pm CST. My partner ordered a margarita that had excessive lime juice, my partner forced herself to drink it to avoid sending it back and I ordered an old fashion that had an excess amount of sugar. (Thankfully the old fashion was comped) We ordered chicken fajitas, the chicken was at least tender and juicy but lacked flavor. The rice was a bit too salty, hard and cold. Our server seemed rushed with us and walked off before we even completed our order. The two positives from the experience was the salsa and tortillas. (Gave the 2 stars for food as those 2 items were enjoyable)
I’ve been to Las Palmas many times, and I want to start by saying the food was excellent and our server was incredible, as always. Unfortunately, the way the wait was handled really overshadowed the experience this time. When we arrived, we were quoted a 45-minute wait, which eventually turned into 1 hour and 20 minutes. I don’t blame the hostess at all—she was kind and doing her job. The issue was clearly with management. At one point, my boyfriend and I checked in and were told we were second on the waitlist, so we waited near the front. Shortly after, a group of three arrived without a reservation and mentioned they “knew someone.” A bald manager came over, told them not to worry, and instructed the host stand to clear a table immediately for them—right in front of us. They were seated before us despite us having waited much longer. It was incredibly frustrating and felt very disrespectful, especially as frequent, loyal customers. If exceptions are going to be made, they should at least be handled discreetly and not so openly in front of guests who have been patiently waiting. I’ve always loved Las Palmas, but this experience left a really bad taste in my mouth. I hope management addresses how waits are handled moving forward, because the food and staff deserve better leadership.
1 star for Las Palmas — extremely disappointing experience, especially for a birthday celebration. We made a reservation well in advance and were seated upstairs instead of the main dining area, which immediately felt like an afterthought. The food did not live up to the hype or price point. The service was the worst part. While we were still eating our main courses, the server abruptly dropped the checks on the table and told us they needed the table back for another reservation. At no point were we informed of any time limit when we were seated. We weren’t offered dessert, coffee, or even the courtesy of finishing our meal without being rushed out. It felt incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. A restaurant should never treat guests this way — especially when they’re there to celebrate a special occasion. Definitely not the level of hospitality you’d expect.
