Honest to god soooooo good. I’ve had seafood boils from multiple places in DFW and this has to be one of the best if not. AND they have other Cajun classics where as other places are usually just a boil. Jessica was amazing and super helpful

We had simple Fish and Chips. The fish was melt-in-the-mouth delicious and their seasoned fries were absolutely yummy. We ate inside, but they have a very active drive-up window. The service was friendly and attentive. I will be returning.

I had been hearing great things about the catch! Brought my family in today and we got the catch boil, fried green tomatoes ,yummy margaritas!! Food was out fast, served hot and fresh and at first I thought she was a manager but "April did an amazing job! She checked on us got everything we needed and was funny and polite. We will definitely come back.

This place is a hidden gem on University Street in Denton, Texas just a about a 1/2 mile east of Razor Ranch. Good food at a decent cost. A taste of Louisiana in North Texas! Fast friendly service! Good food! Ate the fish and shrimp basket with fries. It was good and if I had started this stupid simi-diet I would have eaten more. If was enough and the fish was a good size. Better than most places I have tried. Plenty of parking too.

We are regulars, eating here every Wednesday after church service. Their food is delicious and we love the many options they offer, from blackened, grilled or fried, we love it all. They offer wonderful desserts too. It’s a must try and you’ll keep coming back, like we do.

I just got their fried catfish & gator combo with okra, hushpuppies, and extra garlic bread, through Grubhub, and I have to say- this food is delicious! The catfish doesn't taste muddy at all, and the gator nugs are juicy and crispy at the same time! I'll be coming back for more, for sure

I’m impressed. I’ve eaten at many Cajun and seafood restaurants around DFW but this one cuts the cake. The seasoning was great and the spice was right. I heard about this place from a few people and I just had to try it. I came by with my family to celebrate my Stepdad's birthday. 75 years young! While this place isn't a 4 star restaurant, what it may not have in grandeur and fanciness, it made up for in the food selections we chose!! The table ordered popcorn shrimp, a crab and shrimp boil w/mild garlic butter, the Cajun special, and the Big Easy. We ate until we busted! They also offer a selection of free alcoholic beverages when your dine in. ❤️ Please patronize this business. They did a great job and we appreciate their services that day.

The best Gosh Darn oysters you can imagine. The Cajun seasoning is just stupid good. And the potions are amazing for the price. The service was really something that you never get anymore. Almost like the staff has an invested Interest in The success of the place and they REALLY do go the mile. This is a MUST stop. Y’all be sorry you didn’t try the fresh oysters on the half shell they are absolutely delicious.

My husband and I tried to give it a shot since all the other seafood places are outrageously priced. The food was great, season was fantastic. The guy taking our order accidentally put in the wrong order and they corrected it without a hassle and gave us the correct order. I had the boiled shrimp, my husband had this in the picture and my son had popcorn shrimp. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. I seen reviews of people not giving 5 stars because of how the workers were wearing their masks which is ridiculous. I wouldn’t care if they didn’t have a mask on at all and actually that’s how I would prefer it , if your scared of Covid stay home and cook yourself! I’ll definitely be back .

Truck drivers listen up!! My first time ever in Denton. I’m an over the road truck driver but my first love is being a chef. To say this place far exceeded my expectation is an understatement. Very clean and inviting. Everyone was friendly and helpful with explaining the menu and suggestions to me and other first time visitors. The food was hands down some of the best I’ve ever tasted! The only thing I did not like was narrowing down what I wanted because of so many wonderful choices. Lol The staff suggested the French Quarter Plate which did not Disappoint. This will be my number #1 go to each time I’m in the area.

11/19/23- UPDATE I needed a seafood fix, so I came here today. I had fried shrimp and oysters. They were good. This place reminds me of my favorite New Orleans seafood spot. This is one of the few places that I would recommend if you are looking for close to New Orleans authentic seafood. I had fried shrimp, they had already sold out of oysters by the time I got there. I forgot to pictures, I'll get them on my next visit. They also had boiled crawfish, they looked really good.

It's worth the 45-minute drive I took. Everything was great. The free alcohol was a nice extra touch. Bring extra shots to add to the drinks , and your dinner will be perfect.

The crab is amazing, the seasoning was excessive but the actual quality of the crab was AMAZING. We got the French quarter too: hush puppies 5/10, shrimp etoufee 7/10, fried catfish 10/10, tartar sauce was a bit too lemony for me but was still good, the bang Bang shrimp fried was a 100/10. Amazing. Tables were clean. Was humid inside, but wasn't uncomfortable. Delicious food. Will be back again.

It was crawfish season, so we decided to try this place. We ordered the Crawfish platter, Catch Boil platter, and 2 kids meals. Just excellent all the way around. Crab legs were just right and the crawfish was a great feast. There was so much food!

The grilled fish and shrimp were amazing. I can't speak for the fried stuff, but everything I had was as delicious. The prices are a bit high. However, the portions were also large. It was well worth the price, I'n my opinion. There are also many different combinations of plates that you can choose from, so there should be something to satisfy any of your fish needs.

One of the best seafood boils in Denton. Once we areived we seen a line out their door. We knew we were at the right place. Yes it took awhile to order but worth the wait. I had the catfish shrimp susage and it was great. My son had the catch boil. N ate it all. He wants to make this our go to place and the Wife N I agree.

Found ourselves in Denton today and decided on seafood for lunch. The Catch was a good choice. I seem to be on a self fulfilled goal of locating the best fried green tomatoes around the area. I rate these about a 5 out of 10. Breaded well, but they were red tomatoes, not green and they were a bit greasy. Both of us picked The Big Easy, catfish on a bed of rice, with green beans, hush puppies and garlic bread. A little spicy for my taste, but very yummy.

I love small gems in the middle of cities and this place is definitely one of them. I walked in and was met with good greetings and they helped with my sons high chair as I sat down! When it was time to order, the menu was easy to read and they brought your food out to you. The crawfish was out of this world! Super flavorful and fresh. The shrimp was not rubbery at all! I really dislike overdone shrimp but these were soft and delicious. The hush puppies were a tad dry but nothing major. Overall, super friendly staff and wonderful food. I will be coming here more often for sure.

I thought this might be helpful to someone who has never been to this location before and is curious how the tiny drive-thru works. I know I sure was. Check it out! I went on a Wednesday. They open at 10:30am but I wasn’t able to leave my house till 11:30am. 11:41am arrive 11:49am order 12:01pm paid 12:15pm food! The food was SO GOOD. I got a shrimp poboy combo (you can’t order poboys ala carte btw) with fries and hush puppies. I also got the fried fish and fried shrimp combo (1 fish and 3 shrimp). For that for my side I got red beans and rice (you don’t have to just get fries as your side) and hush puppies (hush puppies come with all meals). And those hush puppies were GREAT! I normally don’t like hush puppies but these were nicely fried and had a great flavor. The poboy was great, the fried fish and shrimp were EXCELLENT. I think I have found a new favorite Denton restaurant! My girlfriend also got shrimp étouffée and some beignets. She really liked both items! What else? Excellent service and they made sure to read my order back to me which was nice. I saw two couples sitting on the patio and it seemed like they were waiting a while but their food soon came out. Overall this restaurant went as fast as they could and did as good a job as they could given the circumstances. Make sure to talk into the FIRST drive thru speaker not the second one! I can’t wait to go back.

The catch had my family fat, full and satisfied! We had the gumbo, fried jumbo shrimp with dirty rice, boudin balls, and the shrimp po boy. The food was seasoned and spicy with flavor!' I appreciate they do not try and take the lining out of your mouth with spicy. Their food tasted fresh. The shrimp were juicy with a crispy coating.. my mouth was definitely satisfied! The atmosphere was super laid back, we sat outside, it was cold inside, but perfect balance sitting outside. I appreciate all the staff from order to serving of our food!, they were all professional.

Boy what can I say...the food is delicious. The portions are great. The prices are reasonable. A taste of Louisiana soul food. But don't be surprised, it ain't all homemade, some of it is spooned from a can into a bowl, cup etc. and it shows! Now the not so good...a) The drive through wait is long....like getting a Whataburger long but In fairness, I can understand it here because the food is cooked when ordered and for the fries and hush puppies make it worth it. The fries at that other place are trash. The other thing is I always ask for extra tarter sauce but something must be lost in translation because when I order 4 pieces of shrimp + 2 pieces of fish and add 4 more pieces of shrimp the 4 times I've been I've either gotten no tarter sauces or just 2 tarter sauces. Tbh the tarter sauce isn't that good, it's one of the items that you get from The Catch that fails miserably. The other item is "the banana pudding." It's insulting actually. They opened a can of some type of cream, poured it into cup added a few cut bananas and a couple of mini vanilla wafers. I'm not sure if a piece of foil is the secret ingredient but that was also included in it. That ruined that meal for me.

First time here. I love me some fish tacos so I got me some with whitefish and an order to banana pudding. The lady working the counter was great and service was on point. The tacos were just okay. The fish was fresh, coked properly and seasoned very well. The sauce had good flavor but they used way too much of it. I think the star of fish tacos should be the fish and the amount of sauce completely overpowered the taco. Something I wasn't expecting was the four tortillas being grilled and the use of Monterey Jack cheese. All and all, these seemed more like fish quesadillas and not the light and fresh fish tacos I was expecting. The banana pudding way overpriced but I gave it a shot. It was not very good so I'd pass if you were thinking about it. Most of the items on the menu are fried so maybe it was my mistake not trying a traditional basket. I'll be back and try the catfish.

Tried the place for the first time on Saturday. Been looking forward it it for a long time and finally made it! It's a quaint little place. Pretty neat maritime decor. Food didn't take long and was prepared as ordered. If you've never been I'll tell you to skip the red beans and rice, they're not worth the real estate in your stomach. Instead, make more room for that okra. I ordered the Captains Combo and sure am glad I did! You must get the okra, omg! Don't leave without some boudin balls either. The catfish and shrimp were excellent. The hush puppies were not all that great, but again, another filler. Why bother when you've got all that fish, shrimp and boudin balls! Plenty of food and I had to take some home cause I couldn't finish it. The wait staff were super friendly and very personable! The pink shirt girl that greeted us and took our order was having an off day I'm sure but she sure didn't try to do anything to overcome her lack of personality or attitude. I felt she was just there to make a paycheck but I chose to not let her day affect mine. I cheerfully bid her a nice day as we departed. Having said that, We will definitely be back!

We are very skeptical of drive thru seafood. We always see cars at the window so we went for an order of bang bang Shrimp. It was very flavorful. Little fried shrimp doused in a Buffalo type sauce. We will have to try this place again. Would recommend for at least a first try.

Flavorful Seafood, Trendy venue and convenient location and not to miss free alcohol. (Insert dance here) I ordered Jumbo fried shrimp combo, served with fries and hush puppies. Babe ordered catfish combo (not pictured.. he was hungry lol) Both were very flavorful, a little bit on the salty side however. We plan to return to try non fried menu selections. So many good options available not to at least try. If you are craving seafood, definitely recommend giving The Catch a try.

We eat at The Catch in Denton about once a week. The workers are friendly and helpful! The food is great. I only wish they had some healthy veggies. I also wish they would put small shrimp in the gumbo INSTEAD OF crawfish, which gives me the creeps. We noticed that it was really cold inside and not that comfortable so we go park somewhere we can watch people while we eat. As always, I wish restaurants would use as many paper products for takeout instead of styrofoam.

I got the catfish special. The food was pretty good for the most part. I really didn't like the sausage or the hush puppies but everything else was great. I do recommend this place. I don't recommend the banana pudding unless u like your banana pudding with the pudding from the store. It wasnt home made.

I ordered the grilled shrimp and fish combo. Overall, it was a good meal — flavorful and satisfying. The fish was just a little too salty for my taste, but still well-cooked. It came with a side of okra and rice, which complemented the dish nicely. For under $20, I think it was a solid deal.

Good service very welcoming people however the food for the price was not satisfying. It’s a Kasian fish not a lot of flavor not a lot of space all in all I would’ve given it a 2.5 however three is my next soccer if you come come for the experience but do get a fried fish.

I have always enjoyed their food. Unfortunately the restaurant continually cancels any orders made for delivery. It has happened twice this month and now I have to wait for a refund. Please turn off the option before orders are placed to prevent disappointment.

Went there tonight, 2nd time to try. Went thru the drive thru, only us in line, speaker not working so we drove up to window where we sat for over 15 minutes to get an employee to come to us. Finally ordered but as we sat there we saw 2 of the girls employees disagreeing with each other. Got our food & it smelled awful, almost like something burnt. Had to smell it all the way home. Catfish was fair, nothing to write home about. Not sure it's worth the $18 for 3 pieces of fish so we aren't sure if we will go again. Bebos in Pilot Point is so much better for catfish for the price.

It was just ok! Me and my friend ordered The Big Easy and the filets were small! It was not as pictured (on the menu) and she agreed. Nothing stood out to me except for the customer service. I 100% would not recommend the boil. Yummy flavors as expected but boy was the crab super skinny and hard to peel ! For some reason the shell was stuck on the Crab and shrimp almost like they glued it on lol And whoever packaged my to go order had to be laughing because this plate was a joke

First visit the food was so yummy that I didn't care that the establishment was run down. Next visit I ordered a drive thru meal and still amazing, but I noticed the outside of building needed major updates. Then it all went down hill over the last month. The fried food including catfish fish taste under cooked on my last 2 visits, which has turned me off from coming. If it is not under cooked then they changed something about it because it doesn't taste the same. The packaging could be improved for to-go orders as the use Styrofoam and it melts into food. I over looked it because food was so good, but really bothered me. It is really a health concern and they should switch to something that will not contribute to cancer. Over all this store needs a remodel, and better cleaning practices and quality control on food.

Food is always amazing. We have a long drive to get here to enjoy the food. Staff is normally great. Except for today. The lady at the drive thru window with the heavy make up and eyelash extensions had the biggest attitude. She was so rude. Rolling her eyes to boot. Thanks for the lovely service, ma'am. I've been out a few times to get their boils - crab legs and shrimp - and they were always fairly tasty. So I was excited when they finally got crawfish back in season (4 weeks after their competition Fish N Tails got it btw) because I hadn't ever had their crawfish boil before, and I've seen raving reviews about it. But I was honestly pretty disappointed with my experience. I ordered 2lbs. The majority of the crawfish were tiny (about 2 inches in body length so really like a half inch of meat from the tail), and I had a very difficult time peeling them. Even the 3-4 decent sized ones (maybe 3 inches in body length?) were hard to pry the meat from the tails. I'm a seasoned crawfish eater, and it normally takes me a few seconds to peel a tail, but each one of these took quite a while and a lot more effort than I normally expend to eat. The corn and potatoes I ordered (and had to pay extra for because they don't come included unless you order one of the specials) were not great either. The corn was mushy, and the potatoes were bland. The overall flavor of the boil was good with the full house seasoning, but that was honestly the only good thing about this. I spent about $34 before tip for 2lbs of crawfish, 1 corn and 2 potatoes, and a medium drink. I spend about $30 at Fish N Tails for the same, but they have large (at least 3-4 inches in body length) crawfish that melts from the shell, the corn is crisp, the potatoes are dripping in flavor, and they have gloves and aprons openly available for customers to grab. At The Catch you have to ask for gloves. And honestly I felt like I was causing an inconvenience to them when I asked, so I didn't even bother to ask for an apron. Also, I arrived around 7:45pm on a Thursday. I was not aware that they closed at 9pm or I would have eaten a lot faster than I did, but I did still finish and leave by 9:07pm. However, one of the employees did not make me feel welcome at all. I don't know her name, but she was very much trying to hurry me out the door, approaching my table at 8:55pm to ask if I wanted a to-go box for the 5-6 tiny crawfish I had left. I politely declined and she walked away then stood at the counter and stared at me while I tried to peel my last crawfish as quickly as I could because I had caught the hint by that point. I ended up just throwing the rest of them in the bucket because 1. they were tiny and hard to peel and 2. the employee was making me feel uncomfortable. I understand it's frustrating to have someone stay past closing, and I apologize that I stayed 7 minutes late. But it's not great to be made to feel like I'm a problem. All in all, I will not be returning for their crawfish boil but instead go to Fish N Tails up the road. The only saving grace to this place and why it gets 2 stars rather than 1 from me is that I did enjoy my previous crab and shrimp boil experiences, and the other 2 girls I interacted with were very nice to me, especially the one with the really great makeup.

I gave this a 1 because I ordered the 9.99 basket with red beans and rice and it came with 1 small piece of catfish two hush puppies. If you are going to sell 1 piece of catfish make it bigger than a small child serving size given to an adult. The advertisement on your online page shows two pieces of catfish in the Catch catfish basket. Not enough bang for your buck. Food was good but I felt cheated for the price.

I’m done with this place. The portions and prices are out of control for the quality of food. Seasoning is hit or miss with this place. Sometimes the food is bland and sometimes it is so salty you think they just dumped the whole box in. But this tops it. Ordered a large gumbo for $10. Got this. They seriously charged me $10 for a cup of rice with a large spoonful of gumbo on top. Talk about greedy. Their food isn’t good enough to charge these prices for these portions.

The drive thru wait was wayyyyy too long. It took them 10-15 mins to even greet/take my order. Then another 20+ mins after paying for my food, for them to give it to me.
