Silver Creek Fredericksburg Reviews
After a hike to the enchanted rock we drove to Fredericksburg, TX for a little window shopping and came across this garden bar/grille. The German beer was so delicious as it was the appetizers we had. We came in to rest a little but stay till late night before driving back to Austin…. The ambiance was so nice we just chilled there.
Came in expecting a very mid experience. I was greeted with excellent food and treatment. Amazing live music and a beautiful atmosphere. I brought my family and we were all spoiled. Even my dog was being treated perfect with some other waiter handing him sausages every now and then. The German sausages are a must! The pretzels as well and the selection of beers is to die for. Thank you for a wonderful day!
We visited Fredericksburg over the holidays. Our daughter lives in Austin and had told us this is her favorite restaurant there. We agree! We dined outside under a huge tree. The atmosphere was wonderful. We were seated immediately, had a beer while we relaxed, and enjoyed a delicious lunch.
Amazing dinner and service. Live music was definitely a plus. We had Maple Pecan chicken... OMG! This dosh is crazy good and the Sausage Plate with german potatoes... It tasted pretty similar to authentic german food which is delicious. They serve German beers too. We had Paulaner Hefe-weizen.
Great Fredericksburg establishment. Chris and staff are awesome. Perfect location on main street. Live music venue is hard to beat. Mondays are special when Ben Beckendorf and band entertain!!
Popper into Silver Creek after watching the eclipse in the town square. Certainly a magical Saturday and this was a great way to wrap it up. The Bratwurst Sampler plate brought three yummy brats with unique flavors and juicy innards. The Oktoberfest Alstead brew was warm in flavor and fit for the coming of a Texas fall. Great service too!
Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTRAVELS Well it's been a couple of years (thanks covid) so it was great to get back to one of our favs. Sadly Diane is not on this trip. This is one of my altime favorite hamburgers and it's still the same after several years. Can't recommend this strong enough. Handmade patty and great tasting toasted bun. The burger is only available at lunch and it's best in the shade under the tree. My server Gia was great. Thumbs-up 👍
Highly recommend the three sausage sampler plate, includes Bratwurst, Frank, and a semi sweet Jalapeño infused pork sausage of E. German roots. Best beer bet, probably a Flensburger Dunkel, or any of the Oktoberfest brews from a bottle. Local craft still needs some wk. to match imports. Lovely wait-staff and less pretentious spot than some of the other restaurants in the town. Sehr lecker ;)
Great food, great hospitality will definitely be coming back. Thank you guys again.
This resturant was wonderful. The service was attentive and pleasant, food delicious and surroundings calm and comfortable. The German sausage plate was tasty and filling. Best German food we have had in Fredericksburg. We also had the bread pudding and loved it. The carmel butter sauce was amazing. I wish we had found this resturant earlier in our vacation but atleast we ended with a bang.
My husband and I frequently visit this place and always love it. The service is consistently good. Staff is friendly and professional. We normally sit at the bar and all barstaff have been great and we feel well taken care off. Their Jäger schnitzel is most excellent, as well is the sausage sampler plate.(note: we are Germany spoiled)
Online ordering didn’t work but they whipped up our fried quail and pretzels so quick and allowed my mom and I (and my dog) to sit inside (it was freezing last night) while waiting on the order. Can’t recommend this place enough.
RILEY is the best bartender I’ve ever had. Love this place! Was looking for a good place to watch college football and they delivered. Chris, the owner, is awesome. If you want a great time, great drinks, and an awesome day - head to this bar!
Exactly what I was looking for, an authentic German restaurant with patio dining below an ancient Bodark tree. Beer on tap was cold and fresh (although pricier than it would have been in Munich, but cheaper if you take into account the airfare). My sausage plate was outstanding, and my wife's schnitzel was even better. This was as close to a true German dining experience I've ever had stateside, and the lunch prices were less expensive than Auslanders across the street (plus we had live music, so nice). We'll definitely be back!
The maple pecan chicken was to die for! The Wiener schnitzel with the lemon sauce changed my husbands life!! Bartender Riley makes a BOMB espresso martini. Bar service and drinks from her 10/10.
I had the ribeye with mashed potatoes and cucumbers. It was so good and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Fredericksburg.
great spot & the schnitzel burger and fries were soooo good!!!! amazing live music and song selection. family & dog friendly
The food was good, we sat outside and the live music was great! He played classic country music and it was very relaxing. They were busy but service was very quick and our server was very attentive.
We made a quick stop in Fredericksburg during our road trip and while walking down Main Street, we heard fun music coming from this place. The atmosphere was really nice, so we decided to go in for some refreshments and a snack. We ordered the artichoke dip and it was really good! I don’t have any other reference since it was my first time trying it, but I really liked it. Our waitress was very attentive.
This place is awesome!! Super cool atmosphere, excellent service and dang good food. It was raining and they put up umbrellas for us to sit outside with our pup. It was perfect. The schnitzel sandwich is fantastic, the sausages are delicious and tasted like our family dinners growing up. Do yourself a favor and try the peach basil martini. This was our best meal in Fredericksburg... hands down.
Mmmmmmm what’s not to like? Good beer, good music, great food, wonderful staff and atmosphere! Started with the pretzel rolls and the mustard sauce was a happy surprise! We also got the side of queso with it and it was so creamy! We liked taking apart the roll ring by ring! Husband had the pepper sausage on a hoagie with kraut, grilled onions, and pepperjack cheese with a side of german potato salad. The flavor was an explosion and the kraut was some of the best I have tasted. The german potato salad was on point and well balanced. Of course I had to be weird and get the fish and chips. It was the perfect portion and the homemade tarter sauce pushed it over the top! Kiddo had the burger and it was nicely grilled though he made it boring by taking all of the good toppings off! Our server was super attentive and friendly and the host who sat us was hilarious! Overall a great experience with the music in the background! We will be back!
food was DELICIOUS!! This restaurant offers a fantastic German experience to anyone visiting Fredericksburg. The atmosphere is fantastic as they have a live music from a local musician, and the waiters are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We got the pretzel appetizers and the pepperwurst sandwich and there are no complains. Will go again!
We really enjoyed our visit to this restaurant on 11/01/25. The waiter was super friendly and entertaining. We would recommend. Food was delicious. And the birthday cake shot topped the list.
A very relaxing environment, the food was delicious. A wonderful place to relax and people watch. Service was really good, beer was cold. I had the Bavarian Weiner Schnitzel and my wife had a Braised Pork Shank. They were both really good. Their Spatzle was amazing! We recommend getting their early for a great people watching spot by the street. Time doesn’t matter here, just relax and enjoy yourself.
Sat outside and enjoyed live music. Food was amazing. Their old fashioned was great. I go every time in in town.
Great food and atmosphere! Nice out door dining with live music and an indoor bar with plenty of tv screens to watch football. This was our first visit here, but not the last
Great music, great drinks, authentic german cuisine all in an excellent outdoor (or indoor) setting. We had the jalapeño poppers which were decent and the jaeger schnitzel which was excellent. The food could have been McDonald’s and the atmosphere would have made up for it. Highly recommend coming here when browsing Main Street.
Our car club ate dinner at Silver Creek. The food and service was excellent! Afterwards, we moved into the bar to watch the World Series game. The bartender, manager and owner were very personable. The drinks were great too!
I think it's my new favorite spot in Fredericksburg! Keith on guitar on Sunday evening was great! Super good service by Jessica and a great meal! Wonderful atmosphere on the front patio with our puppy and warm in December! Pork medallions are fabulous as well as the crab cakes and my old fashion!
Delicious food and great music! Went here with my wife to celebrate her birthday. We were quickly seated and quickly served. The food was hot and delicious. The fries were tasteful and crispy. I enjoyed trying the schnitzel burger for the first time and will definitely try something new next time we go. My wife had a burger and it was amazing too! Highly recommend!
Went 2x to this place! Our food was delicious and our pup enjoyed the patio. You need to try the Hill Country Mojito, it was so good and refreshing on a hot day. The service was great. Our first time we went around noon and it was relatively quiet. But... Wait until the evening and the place comes to life. Music and people. Yes, it's a little chaotic, but somehow, the place works. All the employees are hustling and we still felt like we had good service. I would definitely return.
I love this place.. We decide to come to this restaurant because it’s dog friendly. They gave a treat and a bowl of water for our dog 🥰 Obviously for the company of our pet we have to eat in the front yard but there is a big and wonderful tree that covers almost all the area and they have fans all over the yard so it’s very nice to be there. People are very nice and the food and service was great!
Loved our experience here! We got the crab cake Benedict, it was great! Also got an espresso martini, not too bad. Everything was a reasonable price too. We brought our two pups and they were immediately greeted with water bowls and treats. We loved the dog menu. Our dogs scarfed down the ground beef with carrots. We loved how dog friendly they were. We will definitely come back next time we are in Fredericksburg!
Me and my husband came here for my birthday and the staff were so welcoming and polite! Very friendly and your furry babies will love the patio and the accommodations they provide!! 10/10 highly recommend!
We sat outside on the patio and listened to live country music. It was delightful and the 200 yr old Tree is just fabulous too. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the crab cake Benedict and it was so good. We had the hamburger and brkfst platter too and all of it was fresh and very well prepared. We will visit again when in the area. Great job 👏
Great spot in Fredericksburg! The grilled chicken salad was super fresh and light, with the perfect touch of citrus 🍊, and the cheese curds were crispy and addictive! We also tried the sausage platter — full of flavor and perfect for sharing. Everything came out hot and well-prepared. The outdoor patio has such a charming vibe, perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends. Will definitely come back! 🌟
You gotta love a spot where you meet the actual owner behind the bar husslin booty. Delicious grub and great company. Wonderful selection of German beers and Texas wines, among a large list of house made cocktails. Live music is a big plus. It was too busy outside (where the stage is) but even sitting inside at the bar, the music is loud enough to jam out to. Make sure you try the bratwurst, best I've ever had!
We stumbled upon Silver Creek on a Friday afternoon. We were greeted with Live Music on the patio. We chose to sit inside, but they placed us close enough to the door that we were still able to hear the musician. Jay was our waiter and he met us at the table with waters for the table and was on top of giving up the specials and his recommendations. We had my 12m old son with us and he brought a plate of French fries and maraschino cherries to ride him over until our food comes out. The drinks were spot on, we ordered the brisket fries, pretzel bites, fried pickles and cheese curds. One in our party got the crab cakes and another got the schnitzel. All of the food was phenomenal. Chef Anthony came out to meet us and we made sure to let him know his work was great. Jay hit us with one more surprise of Maple Burbon pecan bread pudding, and crème brûlée along with some whipped cream and chocolate for the baby. Hands down will be back and recommending to everyone I know
What a great time I had at Silver Creek beer Garden and Grille. I was driving down to Main Street, I heard some live music, look to my left and saw a bunch of people having a great time our live band playing so I had to stop and check it out. I found parking right away, was greeted very warmly and seated right away. I sat outside on the patio close to the live band, which was a great experience all in itself. Although there was live music, it was easy to hear the hostess and her recommendations , smooth service all around. As you can see from the pictures, I ordered an authentic German sausage plate, which came with savory sauerkraut and warm, red cabbage, tasty mustard, I also ordered a corned beef sandwich, outstanding sandwich! As I buy it into the sandwich, it was crunchy from the toast and soft, well cooked corned beef, a must have. Also ordered some chicken tenders with spaghetti, which was also well cooked crunchy and delicious. The salad was fresh crispy, savory and I must have if you don’t wanna dive into any of the meat options. Do highly recommend eating at the silver Creek beer garden and if I’m ever in the area in the near future, I’ll definitely come back for round two. If this review was helpful, give me a like or follow for more adventures. Have a blessed new year..
Silver Creek Grill deserves a full 5 stars for food, service, and overall experience. We visited during lunch hours and everything exceeded expectations. The German beers here truly leveled up my beer tasting experience — I now compare every beer I try to what I had here. We ordered the sausage sampler, Reuben sandwich, and schnitzel, and all of it was exceptionally tasty. The sausages tasted fresh, the sauerkraut and potato salad were really good, and the schnitzel was spot on. It was cold outside, and they kindly allowed my dog to sit inside near my chair, which I really appreciated. They even have a special dog menu if you ask. Meals are a bit pricey (around $20 per dish), but that’s expected for a touristy location. Service was excellent, though keep in mind there’s no dedicated parking for the restaurant. Overall, a must-visit spot in Fredericksburg. 🍺🌭🐾
We arrived Friday (7-11) and from last nights dinner to today (7-12) here at Silver Creek it’s been DAY & NIGHT … Jade made our experience so enjoyable and welcoming … She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and wanted …. the whole bar staff also was so welcoming and made us feel right at home 😄 Thank you for welcoming us RGV girls to this amazing establishment … OH and the food was absolutely AMAZING !!!! Were to start first the view was amazing I loved that their was entertainment outside while we were enjoying our drinks and food. Second the service was as little slow but I can say their was alot of people. Third the food was good I came during lunch but I would highly recommend coming for dinner.
This was our first time and we all enjoyed it. The food was nothing fancy, but good food. The service was good despite being very full. The atmosphere was very pleasant with live music outside where we sat. Inside at the bar they have multiple TVs which had the NFL playoffs on. Overall, we liked it. A good, no frills, German food joint with cold beer and wine.
Delicious food, great service. Only negative is not many air conditioned areas to sit but there is a shady area out front to sit and people watch while listening to live music. We had the Ruben Plate, the meat had an awesome flavor but was a little dry, and a Sausage Plate, my husband said it was delicious, much better than the one he got at the Fredericksburg Brewing Company. They have many different kinds of mules which is what brought us here and I tried a couple.
Cute little spot on main with a great patio. Sat outside for lunch and enjoyed a couple of sausage plates as a table. It hit the spot and was delicious. I enjoyed all three varieties of sausage. I loved the German potato salad that came with. Not being a beer drinker, I ordered a Texas 75 (like a French 75 but with eddys grapefruit vodka instead of gin). It was yum. But being a gin drinker, I personally would love to see a gin cocktail or two on the menu because #ginisin. Our server was great and I loved the live music. I didn’t make it inside, but was more than happy on the perfect little patio.
Just got takeout, but even with a long drive, the food was still hot and cooked perfectly. The sauerkraut and red cabbage were both so good.
Went here because we heard live music. The musicians were great—blues band! I was a little hesitant since I figured this place would be a menu full of Bratwurst and Schnitzel but I was pleasantly surprised at the vast menu options. Got the Maple Chicken with the seasonal veggies— a MUST! Chefs kiss. The whole dish was some of the most flavor filled food I’ve had on all of Main Street. Truly underrated ! The service wasn’t amazing, a little slow and short with us. But it comes with more casual service environment at times. A must visit for flavorful food at a decent price with a fun, easy going environment. Great for those not looking to bust their budget.
My husband and I decided to try out this restaurant for lunch. There was a live band playing outside that was pretty good. Service was slow at the beginning. It took a while to order and receive our drinks, and we didn't get silverware and napkins until after we received our food. The food was fairly good. My husband's schnitzel was delicious. My pastrami sandwich had a soggy bottom but was very tasty.
Really enjoyed hearing love music on the patio. When it was chilly, they turned on heaters and it was perfect. I really enjoyed the Jager schnitzel. The serving was large and well cooked. The German potato salad was excellent. The red cabbage was a bit too sour for me, but overall still a great meal. We also got the baked brie in a tomato cream sauce which was very good. I also appreciate that they serve local Becker wines.
It's a laid back restaurant with tons of outdoor seating under a giant tree. They have live music as well. A word of advice; never ever get the salads. They're soggy and come with reheated chicken and are way over priced. Stick to their fish and chips or their sandwiches, and you'll be fine! I've dined there multiple times and only have issues with their salad bowls, hence will be keeping their 4 rating.
Did not look packed when we arrived at 3ish, and we waited several minutes to be seated. A line started to form while waiting. The service was great. Our waiter ensured we had everything we needed. The food was okay, and honestly, what really surprised us was the kids' butter noodles. Those are yummy!
We came at lunchtime on Saturday and there not many people here so we were seated straight away. We ordered a couple of drinks and when they brought our drinks out they brought my wife and myself each a shot glass of a beer they were advertising, which by the way was very delicious. We then ordered our starters, the German Sausage Sampler and the Wisconsin Garlic Cheese Curds. Both were especially good with great flavor. Then my wife ordered the Grilled Chicken Ceasar Salad and I ordered the Schnitzel Burger. The salad was decent, but not great. My Schnitzel Burger was good, but I've had better Schnitzel. We both got a side of Saurkraut, which was about average. The live musician playing was an older gentleman, probably in his late 70's and he frequently sang off key. The service was so so and that was frustrating as there were very few people here.

This was a very neat location, the restaurant its self had a great ambiance. We started our meal with a couple beers and a sausage sampler. We were not impressed with the sausage. I went ahead and ordered a country fried steak that was okay, my wife had the Ruben that she said was not bad. When we go back we are willing to give it another go, it could have been an off night.
The drink was definitely refreshing especially after walking around. The food 50/50 my sausage plate was alright, the sauerkraut and red cabbage was a but too much. Am just curiu6as to how much do they have to dispose everyday. I will try something else next time. Thw environment is great and good for relaxing.
Service and atmosphere were great, but the food was a bit on the bland side. I may have had high expectations because I love German food and lived in Germany for a year, where I had Jaeger Schnitzel more times than I can count. Unfortunately, the flavors just didn’t hit the mark for me. It wasn’t bad, but it lacked the depth and richness I was hoping for.

Edible. I got the southwest eggrolls and my mom got the brisket and cheese loaded fries. Eggrolls were soft and fries were soggy. Brisket was bland and presentation was poor. We sat inside and it felt like we were low priority because of it. Servers only came round to get our order and give us food. We had to go to them to get the check and food took forever to come out. Not usually one to write bad reviews, but wanted to warn others especially because of the price tag attached. Not worth it.
Ordered fish (fried cod) and chips (fries) and date ordered grilled chicken sandwich and fries. Fish was literally fish sticks. I would know I ate those for a while. Grilled chicken dry. Sodas were both flat. Venue was nice. Had band outside. Good for having a beer and enjoying the music. Waitress was nice and polite. But we had to wait long time to pay our bill (20 min) after being given our check. Other employee took time from his converstion with other employee to handle our payment. Lots of surveillance cameras inside but no one paying attention. So what are the cameras for? Bill was $56 plus tip. I wouldn't recommend the food here if your looking for cooked meals versus reheated/microwave type. We did eat it all though, we were hungry. Sign says authentic, but that was a stretch. My fault, I should have researched reviews before coming here.

We came for a dinner last night with party of 9 and we experienced the worst service ever. The server was so rude to the point that she said if we don't hurry up with ordering our food, she will have to leave.
After asking about a waitlist on Sunday afternoon, the employee informed me they were open until 3:30 when the website clearly says 3-8:30pm. When I informed him the website was incorrect, he flatly said “okay thanks” hung up on me
Patio was pretty and the live music was good but that is all. the service was not a good one. Took more than 20 min to get order in because the waitress never came. The $30 steaks were chewy and just fatty. best way to describe it. Never got second drinks because..again, she never came. It was full. We came to visit from SA so we know full restaurants. If it cant be handled. limit capacity. Per covid standards. it was 6 feet and masks were in common areas. I wont recommend unfortunately unless you come for the music.
Was really looking forward to trying silver Creek while visiting. However, after paying for food online and arriving to pick up food, I was surprised to find out that the restaurant was actually close. Probably will not try to visit again on next trip to Fredericksburg.
Overall the waiter was nice attentive. Food was okay nothing special. But my friend ordered a beer and when he got it it was gross. He took only 1 sip and requested to take it back. He got another beer and when it was time to pay the beer he sent back was still on his bill. The owner was giving him crap for requesting to return it. If he didn’t like it, didn’t drink it why would he pay for this beer. The disrespect was loud from this owner. We won’t be going back.
OK, I need to ask. What happen with the great service my husband and I always got here? We sure didn't receive it on our recent visit. Stop by this pass sunday for lunch. Waiting to get a table( only ones standing there) . The young man( hostess) just looks at us not saying anything. It took him awhile to acknowledge . Yes we are waiting to be seated. Sitting outside and no waitstaff comes by. We are waiting and waiting. Then I notice, the hostess sees we are waiting. He goes inside to get a waitress. She comes outside with water. We both order because we didn't want her walking away without taking food order. Just in case it take her awhile to come back. After check is brought and we want to pay. She doesn't come back . Again we wait and wait. Finally I get other waitress to take take out payment. I did notice waitstaff we had never seen working there before. Is it under new management? We notice bad service. When before we always got great service.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience warranted one. I was served a flat, unpleasant beer and when I brought it to the staff’s attention, I was met with pushback rather than customer service. I was told this was coming from the owner himself. I run a small business and I know it doesn’t cost much or anything to poor a beer. I was still being charged for the drink despite it clearly being undrinkable. The server mentioned if they take it off the tab they will be charged for later. This is absolutely ridiculous and shown be illegal. Very disappointing and not how guests should be treated. I WILL NEVER BE BACK.
