Jose the manager, Brandon and Meka the bartenders, and Nelson the cook… they were sensational. They were personable, receptive, and friendly. One of the best customer service me and partner had. From the moment we walked in, my friend and I felt at ease in this nice bar. With its classic bar top and cozy tables, it's a welcoming spot and friendly people around. The music is perfectly balanced, allowing for easy conversation and enjoyment of drinks and snacks. I mean it's not too loud like other places here in the city. I particularly love that we could smash glasses against the wall after drinks - it was therapeutic! lol! Yes, I loved it. 💯 Giovanni - one of the friendly bartenders -took the time to explain to us how to smash the glasses and and even took some pics of our visit (although they don't quite do justice to the excitement of the momen 🤣!). Sure thing! We'll definitely be back to this place again!

Came here for the first time with a group and it was such a fun experience! When you first come in, you sign a waiver and are given a wrist band. Once you finish your drink, you have the glass rinsed out and can go to the throwing room where a bunch of different slides are put up of people/characters so you can throw your glass at them. Safety goggles are provided, along with a solution and rag to wipe them before you wear them. The staff is friendly and fun, and the bartenders made good drinks. Took advantage of the 2 for $15 shots while there (the PB&J shot is so good). If you don’t want to drink heavy, you can just buy a bucket of glasses to throw. Aside from the drinks and glass breaking, they also have some games in the back and the bar has different TV shows/movies playing if you need some other form of entertainment. Definitely a great spot if you want to try a bar that’s a bit different than the rest.

My coworker and I stopped here after dinner at Zoob Zib next door. We loved the 90's music playing and sat right at the bar. The bar is stocked pretty well with specialty liquors and wines. They had football games on the tvs, electronic games in the back and the best part after signing the waver you can go in the back and throw some glass. They project different images on the wall so you can have choices on what to throw at. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We will be back next year to do it again :)

After work I decided to go visit my fiance at work, she got off a little bit early. So we decided to go home early together, as soon as we stepped outside into the street level It started raining. We didn't hear about it raining that day so we didn't come prepared with umbrellas unfortunately, so we decided to go to a bar near by in the area until the rain stops in 1 hour as the weather app instructed us. We stop by this location called The Break Bar. I've heard many great things about this location before so I was pretty excited to be taking my fiance. In the Entrance you'll have to show your ID to get in just like any other location's in the city, The security guard was very friendly. Service was perfect, drinks were excellent, Price was fare and it was a great environment overall. Music was awesome, we listened to a lot of good old school music as well as some new. We noticed a few different types of people with helmets and goggle protecting glass walking towards the back area we also noticed that there is a plastic glass from one wall to the other which made us extremely curious. We asked the bartender what was that about. The Bartender said that is a breaking station and we asked to elaborate. She said that we're allowed to break and smash all the cups we drink from or we're allowed to bring any electronics or anything we feel we want to break or smash. She explained a lot of people in this area work really hard and have stressful days. So like the movie film called Office Space you're allowed to bring in any types of electronics that you really don't care for and smash it all. The whole object is to go into this room with a metal bat and break it to release stress from work or stress from anywhere else. She even said if you have a TV that your ex-boyfriend or girlfriend owned and they left it at your house, bring it in and you can smash it. You have to sign a release form and wear some protected goggles, I believe you have about 30 minutes to smash or break as much as you can, if you don't want to drink or order food you can just simply order a bucket of 10 empty beer bottles to smash on the floor or with the wall, I believe they charge $20 per bucket. You could drink while you do it or not depending what you want to do. It was very exciting but we had to pass at the moment because we had other obligations but we will definitely be visiting again because the service was superb. Thanks guys!!

Great lively bar with good vibes! The Julien (x2) crew was awesome! Waffle fries were tasty and the buffalo cauliflower was indeed buffalo’d (🥵). You can grab a seat at the bar or a seat at one of few tables. Great for small or large groups! Don’t forget to save your glasses (after your drink is done) or purchase some for the smash room!

The beer is cold, the vibes are immaculate, and the service is fantastic. Special shoutout to Shannon for being an all around class act. She’s a real gem. On her free time, she is even known to save cats from burning trees.

I stumbled into break bar on a Sunday night and left wondering why I hadn’t been coming here for years. The atmosphere is that perfect blend of cozy and stylish. Drinks were spot on. Their signature cocktails are creative without being over-the-top, and the bartenders clearly know what they’re doing especially Angel. They’re friendly without being pushy, and they actually listen to your preferences when recommending something. Prices are reasonable for the quality, especially during happy hour, and the small bites menu is solid.

Steven the bartender was very attentive. I loved his energy. The drinks were so greatly made. I appreciate his service and kindness, you should hire more people like him. I will definitely be coming back thanks to Steve. It was kinda busy and he was holding it down.!!!!

We found it completely by chance while exploring as tourists and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. It has a small and intimate feel with a grunge look that gives it real character. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, and it feels like the kind of place locals would keep secret if they could. The concept is what makes it unforgettable. After you finish your drink, you can head into the designated room and smash the bottles. It is incredibly fun and surprisingly therapeutic, and it adds something special you do not get in the usual city bars. The staff make the experience even better because they are friendly, easy going and keep the whole place running smoothly. It is the sort of hidden gem you are genuinely excited to come across. If you want something different, memorable and full of personality, this is a brilliant choice and a place I would happily return to whenever I am back in the city.

After walking around for mist of the day and finishing at Hudson Yard, we googled local bars and opted for Break Bar. We initially thought that the bar might have pool tables, but the break relates to glasses and bottles! Finish a drink, put it in a bucket and build up your stock pile to start smashing them against a wall in the back of the bar. A projector displays random images that you can target, certainly was a lot of fun. As for the alcohol, a well stocked bar of liquor, plenty of choice and plenty of beer on tap. Fancy a cocktail, Eliza mixed a very decent Old Fashioned! If smashing glasses is not your thing, chill at the bar and watch some sport. We had a great time and will go back for sure!

Very interesting bar that you could break all the glasses after drinking. A waiver document needed to be signed. It’s a great place to get rid of pressure. However there’s no enough space or seats to accommodate all the people for drinking. Many people needed to stand and hold their drink. I would give 5/5 to the break bar idea and 3/5 to the vibe in the bar itself. most people come here to break the glass.

We went to break bar and the food wasn’t that great but NOAH! And Alexis the manager made sure that we were THROUGHLY taken care of, after we complained that the food wasn’t to our liking they made sure to ask if we wanted anything else and were super attentive. We’re mourning a death as a friend group and it was really comforting to have such care even at a rage bar 🥹

The bar itself didn't look welcoming and the smell inside was disgusting. The wrecking room was a lot of fun. They also provide protective clothes, so on. Don't forget your playlist: they have an iPhone adapter to connect to the speakers. Overall I liked the experience, but check out all the photos before going in order not to be disappointed.

Went to Break Bar for a post-work celebration that was perfectly planned by a colleague after a very intense work event. It’s the perfect place for a group to come together, grab drinks and let off some steam! Hence the name, Break Bar!! The front portion of Break Bar on 9th Ave in New York is classic bar, but the plot twist is that in addition to drinks, you can purchase buckets of glass for varying prices to break! You are given safety glasses to use for protection for when you enter the back portion of Break Bar, where you get to let it out on a series of images ranging from a variety of public figures. The room is small, dark and there’s a barrier between you and what you’re throwing glass at. You can throw the glass as hard as you want, which is part of the “fun”! Releasing your tensions and frustrations by breaking glass is one way to have some “fun”! After a few moments, you’re back to the bar! You get a cool temporary tattoo that says I smashed 💩 @ Break Bar! Such a fun touch! If only there was food. Otherwise it’s a cool concept & something different to do. If you’ve had a rough day or just need to release tension grab a drink & some glass & eye glasses & go for it!! Responsibly and safely. The vibe and decor work for the concept. Loved the broken records and broken glass art accent the walls.

Went a few weeks ago to celebrate my boyfriend and his twin’s birthday. It was great experience overall, the staff were helpful. The drinks and food were good. We did an open bar for two hours and people enjoyed breaking the glasses after it ended.

I guess it is not a bad place if you just wanna have some drinks, personally didn’t like the place. The service was alright and the drinks the same. If you want to buy stuff to break it is very over priced I think.

Decent place if you wish you come in, smash some glasses and get your frustration out. Other than that it’s a regular bar, pretty loud. The deal to come in the buy the bucket of glasses, smash them is pretty sweet

The wrecking activity looks amazing and they have a good beer selection. They cocktails, however, are not good. I got a margarita and it was absolutely awful, practically undrinkable. Everyone in my group got one and no one could take more than one sip before asking to replace it with bottled beer. The bartender was very nice about it and only charged for the beers. Basically, their well drinks are very low quality. Either splurge for the names you like, or get a beer. Waffle fries were not great but decent.

Drinks and service were good. Music and atmosphere was great that night. I like the concept of break bar you get to break the glasses from your drinks. The bar bites weren’t all that great. The truffle mushroom pizza was not good. The giant soft pretzel on the other hand was better than I expected.

$20 for a vodka and tonic. Place was pretty dumpy. Felt like a hang out for the young beer crowd. Went around the corner to the Irish bar much better and the drinks were better and we priced more appropriately. One and done.

The bar itself is fine, but the break room experience needs better management. Our group’s time was interrupted by rude patrons who tried to enter shortly after we started, even though it wasn’t a busy time. The bar should ensure staff are available to monitor the break room, so everyone can enjoy their full time and get their money’s worth.

The manager was very rude to us. Let my partner waiting while she was speaking with other costumers having fun instead let him waiting for almost 20 minutes. I don’t think she liked us for some reason and we spent almost 200,00 dollars. Food was really good. Just the manager acting like a fool.

Good concept but it drops there. We got a ‘bar snack’ for $8; half a ramekin of jarred Tostitos salsa & broken, stale pieces of tortilla chips. Our $14 pickle backs tased like watered down pickle juice, no bourbon at all. As someone who’s in the industry it’s clear management is missing opportunities here. We would’ve done another round of smashing, 3 buckets for $35, if we had a decent snack & drink to hold us over. Also as Covid ramps up again I hope they consider precautions such as sanitizing the buckets, bottles & safety goggles. Probably won’t be back :/.
