Corner Bakery Irvine Reviews
Corner Bakery is one of those places that always feels warm and welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy, casual, and perfect for everything from a quick breakfast to a relaxed lunch.
The cashier and team were excellent and assisted me to find a gluten-free sandwich on their menu when I needed a quick snack!
Great food, had some kind of hot Italian sandwich and a cup of potato soup and it was great.
Corner Bakery is one of those places that always feels warm and welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy, casual, and perfect for everything from a quick breakfast to a relaxed lunch. The pasta dishes are especially comforting—fresh, flavorful, and portioned generously. Pairing them with their signature soups or salads makes for a really satisfying meal. The staff is friendly and attentive, and food usually comes out quickly, even during busier hours. I also love that they have plenty of healthier options alongside the more indulgent ones, so it’s easy to find something for every mood.
Corner Bakery is one of those spots that always feels cozy and dependable. Whether you’re in for breakfast, lunch, or a quick coffee break, the food is consistently fresh and flavorful. Their paninis and pastas are hearty, the soups taste homemade, and the bakery items—especially the muffins and cookies—are the perfect sweet treat. The café-style vibe makes it a nice place to sit and relax, catch up with a friend, or even get some work done. Staff is friendly, service is quick, and everything is reasonably priced for the quality you get. It’s a reliable go-to when you want comfort food in a casual, welcoming atmosphere.
Corner Bakery is always a reliable go-to for fresh, tasty meals. The menu has a great mix—whether you’re in the mood for a warm panini, a hearty pasta, or one of their signature soups and salads, you really can’t go wrong. Their breakfast options are just as good—fluffy pancakes, egg scramblers, and of course, those fresh pastries that are impossible to resist. The atmosphere is cozy but casual, making it a nice spot to meet a friend, grab a quick bite, or even get some work done with a cup of coffee. Service is consistently friendly, and food always comes out fast and hot.
Stopped in for a late lunch. We ordered the ‘Chicken Carbonara’ bowl (small serving), and ‘Ham and Swiss’ sandwich. The ‘Chicken Carbonara’ was served with a light yet flavorful sauce, generous amounts of chicken and bacon. The ‘Ham and Swiss’ sandwich was a perfect size for lunch, served on a sourdough roll with tomatoes, onions, and a light Italian dressing. This lunchtime meal was good quality and represented good value. The staff person who took our order responded patiently to our questions, and our food arrived just a short time later. The restaurant and tables were clean when we arrived and our table was cleared for us shortly after we finished. There is a surprising amount of outdoor seating available. This day, all the tables were clean and in good order. We’ve visited this Corner Cafe location many times during our trips to Irvine over the years. The food and service have been consistently good. “We’ll be back.”
Mid-September 2022 was the first time we came to this Corner Bakery for breakfast in a long time. When we come here, it's always before 9 am on a Sunday, and we've been advised to park in the parking spaces near the restaurant. However, there is a parking garage shared with the nearby restaurant, and it has lots of parking spaces. We walked in and looked at the big menus displayed high above the order counter, and then placed an order. I ordered a bacon wrap, and R ordered steel-cut oatmeal. We were given a number and then sat at a table inside the restaurant, placing the number on a stand so the employees would know where to bring our order.
Yummy paninis and sandwiches! Located conveniently in the plaza next to Ralph's and Chase bank and a bunch of other stores. Food portions were huge, so we had to take them big sandwiches to go. Cashier lady was kind of rude, no greeting or thank you. She threw the receipt and the ticket number down on the counter, didn't hand it over to us. Must've been the end of her shift lol.
I ordered farmers scramble w sausage. It is suppose to have potatoes and literally had maybe 8 pieces of potatoes. Even w the chilis was a little bland.
Ordered at the counter. Menu had good variety. Friendly service. But I guess you get what you pay for. Dirty inside (particularly floors and doors), cheap chairs and tables, food was not fresh. Bathroom was so dirty, did not use it. Just wasn't for me.
I got 1/2 1/2 $ 20.00 i paid and asked if they give Veteran discount ? No. they could have given me a senior discount. Would go here often but not anymore. Oh and i had no drink. Grrrrrrrr😵💫
I was with someone in a wheelchair and had to get up several times to ask for napkins, cutlery, an extra plate (even though we had already asked another employee when we were served the sandwich, she ignored the request), the soda machine's CO2 was out along with the Diet Pepsi. I would hate to think of my friend being alone at the restaurant and having to go back and forth in her wheelchair, being ignored when making simple requests. It seemed the staff were all in the back making to-go orders instead of taking care of the present customers. I understand that things like DoorDash has contributed to this system, but it shouldn't be at the total expense of service. The sandwich was also dry. I didn't dare get up again to ask for more sauce or spread.
Ordered catering for an event from here. Some of the vegetables delivered was not fresh or washed properly. The broccoli had clearly gone bad and had a fishy smell. A caterpillar crawled out of the cauliflower. Delivery staff was kind.
Not too happy about this place. The soup was ok, the trio salad was supposed to come with a Cesar salad and it was only lettuce, not even the dressing, no croutons either. We sat in the patio but it was dirty with trash on the floor. The garden plants were almost dead, it looked unkept The cashier was not friendly
well. first thing I get in the waiter is rude and they got my order short so I had to order again after I got the drinks soup and food and left home. I find out the soup was a very small portion not an actual bowl. but that's fine. What's even worse? I opened it and it does not have any chicken when I order the chicken soup. It's just noodles and broth I'm not sure if I will go back.
Horrible. Just decided to try this place out since I heard they had a promotional combo deal. The “chicken panini” I ordered to go with soup had a measly 2-3 tiny morsels of chicken on there if any. Nothing else, it’s bread and whatever greasy thing they put in there. It’s an obvious ill attempt to serve good food. I was actually excited since I haven’t been here in over 5 years. I have no doubt this chain at least this location does not what it takes to survive the next couple years. PS please clean the sewer smell out of your restrooms, you are serving food and that seeps out into the restaurant,
This place is so beat up. Furniture damaged just has a very sad feel to it. I figure if that is how they let the front look what is going on in the kitchen??? Used to go there often it was always a little beat up. But the owners are showing they don't care.
I walk in and the guy doesn't even greet me behind the counter and immediately goes to the back after the guy in front of me ordered. Comes back with two jugs of milk passes the counter still doesn't say anything to me and proceeds to fill the milk into the machine. Not even a "I'll be right with you", nothing. Not to mention it also smelled like sewage when I first walked in. Unfortunate because I wanted to try this for years but no one spoke to me despite looking right at me so I left.
