DiBella's Subs Ithaca Reviews
We googled sandwiches due ng a road trip. Called ahead with our orders. The plan was to continue the drive to our destination. First we checked to make sure they got the order correct. Big Mistake Opening the package filled our car with the smell of fresh sandwich. We couldn't stop ourselves. For the first time our car was quiet. I was nearing the last bite of my sandwich. I don't usually eat the whole thing in one sitting but it was so good. I asked my husband if he wanted to swap to try it. Only then did we realize we had taken each other's sandwiches. That's how good it was. I ate the wrong sandwich. I do not like to eat other people's food. You eat what you chose from the menu!!! Unless it's here. Then everything is good. Idk about the service or the atmosphere because I stayed in the car. That sandwich though. I'm pretty sure I have a phot somewhere.....
Fabulous experience! Delicious, nutritious food at low prices. Short wait times. A clean, neat store. Friendly, hospitable, kind employees. Plenty of free parking. Conveniently located on Elmira Road near downtown Ithaca. Highly recommended!
I tried the subs for the first time a few weeks ago and I was super impressed and wish I had tried it sooner! Very friendly and great service! The food is amazing!
This place puts Subway & Jimmy John's to shame. It was my first time here and I ordered the everything bread. I was not disappointed! I'll be back here again 👍🏼
Dibella's is certainly one of the best sandwich shops I have been to. The cold cuts are of high quality as is the bread that is baked in house. The fact that they offer kid's meals is a delight to families who have younger children. My only wish is that they would offer meal pricing for addons such as drinks and chips. However there is a 5 inch meal deal for about $9.99 which is reasonable for the product they offer.
Ran across this chain when our son was at university in Rochester, then Cleveland. THE BEST SUBS anywhere. Staff always great. Immaculately clean if you want to eat in. Old-timey atmosphere honoring the original concept, uniform in each location. Do try the "everything" bread for yours- tender & delicious! Freshest ingredients.
My 2 sub order was delayed by a long time because of people placing 10 sub + orders. They need to introduce a limit on in person and online ordering. They have catering for a reason, I mean seriously people? Those poor workers are working hard enough. They don’t need to deal with your 20 sub order with no preparation. Normal people like me can’t get my order at a normal time because of people like this.
The food was great. The bread tasted really fresh. But the service was lacking. When I ordered my food I felt like I was burdening the person who took my order. I wouldn't discount this place as a choice to get a sub, but it likely wouldn't be at the top of my list. There are a lot of places to get a good sub.
Restroom was clean, that was the one positive. I have had Dibellas all over the state and the sandwich here was the worst I ever had. Burned roll, sparse meat and condiments, manager blabbing away while customers were left waiting. Bad experience, but I won't give up on Dibellas brand.
The food here is great. The Italian Meatball is awesome and the Godfather on Sesame is just perfect. The service, however, isn't always reliable. I once waited 40 minutes for a cold sub, nothing to cook or heat up, just a normal cold sub. My friends and family have had similar issues where their order is either wrong or delayed. The servers here are also sometimes argumentative and not helpful if you have a custom order like "No onions on the Godfather." Yes. Apparently that's a confusing custom order. The server wanted me to read out all the ingredients if I wanted one removed. I love their subs, but I don't think I'll be coming back often if at all. And when/if I do, it'll be a mobile order to avoid the mixed bag of varying/unreliable customer service.
Ordered a Philly cheesesteak/onion/peppers/provolone, what was I served- mayo on the sandwich, who puts mayo on a Philly cheesesteak? Asked for money refund-told NO. Said they would make another-well this one served no onions/peppers! Better check your sandwich right at counter people..
The bread was so hard. It was definitely old bread that they served me. Hurt the roof on my mouth. Not soft and fresh at all. Very disappointing.
Second time in a row we've had several items missed on our delivery order. Store was unable to re-deliver items missed, so half of us didn't get what we ordered. Will not order from them again.
2 subs $39.00. Tasted like a lettuce , tomato and onion sandwich. Couldn't even tell if it had mayo. They didn't put enough meat or cheese on it to even know what flavor sub i was eating. I had to go back up and get the dressing for it they forgot to put it on. We were the only customers in the building also. They treated me as if I was bothering them.
They do not serve 100% white albacore tuna. Taste was terrible. I went there just for the tuna, had it many times before and I know what cheap tuna taste like.
Today June 19 I walked in ordered 3 subs - Jessica is a wonderful GM but all 3 subs were screwed up so BAD!! Wrong size Wrong Bread Wrong toppings Wrong cheese….. We won’t be back until you change the order line BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS SO I can WATCH my sub being made!!!!! I don’t give a shit if it means Jessica has to walk more!!! I paid $51.55 for 3 Subs NO ONE WILL EAT!!!
Tried to come here 2 weeks ago and they were literally out of bread over an hour before closing time. How can a sandwich shop be out of bread?! Last I checked, bread is a pretty essential ingredient in a sandwich. This is ridiculous—we definitely won’t be coming back!!
