Avis sur DiBella's Subs Ithaca
Aside the fact I work here. We do have really good subs, fresh bread and theres hardly ever a line. Best time to come is after 5
Ordered a medium and it was gigantic and delicious. They don't skimp you on the meat. Great place, will return.
We have DiBella's catering meetings at work often and they are always prompt, curteous, efficient, friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious!
Sad that they closed in Michigan, I got it here and it was very good
Their rolls are so, so yummy, the meat tends to be free of gristle or excess fat, the cookies are tasty, and the service is good.
Best sub I have had in probably 15 years. Bread is top of the line and every thing is fresh
Love their subs and workers are friendly!..restaurant always clean..everyone needs to try the steak and cheese sub or the godfather..you won't be disappointed!!!..so glad they have a location in Ithaca😍😍
Very yummy Sub Sandwiches!! The staff was friendly and attentive. I was a first time customer and I'm positive that I'll be returning.
Stopped in for a picnic lunch sack first time in, the help behind the counter was excellent the bread was homemade, fresh and some of the best ever, sandwiches and subs were highly recommended very flavorful
My family loves this place. We order weekly. Great food, great service. Bonus points: I was in a rush to get my sandwich. They really helped me get there on time.
You can tell when you bite into the sub that they source quality ingredients. Children's boxes are awesome too. Place was clean, food was good, and good staff. Easy in and out for parking.
Really great subs. Fresh ingredients and bread. Price is a *little* high but the quality is worth it. You really do get what you pay for. Try the packaged pickles by the register area! ! Really delicious!
Ordered two subs for my partner and I and they were delicious! I'm intolerant to white flour and they even have a multi grain sub bun I can have! Will definitely be going again soon.
Great subs. Quick service. Atmosphere is nothing special or fancy but is clean and suitable for a sub shop.
Finally went to this new place! Years back, Wegmans used Dibella's recipes and styling to create their great sub shops, so I knew I'd like it. This place features an open, diner-style kitchen and very nice booth seating. For my inaugural, I took their advice and had the Cheesesteak, which was huge, delicious, and made with quality beef. My wife tried the Godfather - a spicy Italian sub much like the Danny's Favorite at Wegmans. Great food!
Ithaca Dibella's has the best management and customer service. Always quickly resolves any issues. Ordered delivery tonight. So glad that Dibella's does delivery to Lansing - not many restaurants I would like to order from will still deliver to Lansing from downtown Ithaca. And, I like to be able to go straight to the Dibella's website to order delivery, and be able to use rewards and coupon codes. Our subs were delivered on time, cold was cold and hot was hot. Bread was delicious, as usual. Toppings were plentiful and fresh. Tuna and chicken, respectively, were good portions. The Doordash (the service Dibella's uses) delivery person was great, too. Thank you!
DiBella’s makes a killer sub. The only other sub I’ve had that beats it is Amiel’s up near Rochester. But yeah, DiBella’s is great. Leagues better than Quizno, Firehouse, Jersey Mikes, etc . . . . competing sub shops in that same premium sandwich category.
Really fresh subs with a lot of stuff inside the homemade roll. Store was very neat and clean. We had a very fine meal.
Always good, always fast and could not ask for more. One of the best in town.
First time here. Delicious subs. I enjoyed a nice Old-fashioned one on multigrain. The bread used is really good. Price is what I'd expect from a quality sub around here. Definitely coming here in the future.
Every time I get subs from Dibs I am totally satisfied, if not absolutely delighted. No hyperbole here, they do fantadtic subs, have awesome staff and are also out in the world right now during a pandemic. Brave and hard working, attentive to each and every specification, good ingredients... oh and also they have coupons all the time that turn two huge subs for the wife and daughter and I and it breaks down to like $14. Three meals lol Bah!!! I can't say enough good about Dibellas; you are the premier sub shop in a city saturated with sub shops. Can't keep typing must eat sandwic&msnfjfngnsksjdkdkg
Great food! DiBella's doesn't take short cuts with their ingredients. Nice amount of meat and toppings without skimping on quality. I recommend anyone to check this place out!!
Great subs, some the best in the area. Way better than going to some of the other chain sub restaurants. They always have fresh bread and produce.
Wonderful food and service! I ordered ahead, intending to take it on the road. I realized my phone was in desperate need of a charge and they pointed me to an outlet. I ate my delicious sub and charged my phone before hitting the road. They were so helpful!
This is my favorite sub shop in town! The staff are wonderful. The food is beyond amazing - fresh and exceeds expectations. Online ordering is a breeze and this is the only place in town that has ALWAYS had my food ready by the time they said they would. I absolutely love everything about this restaurant!!
We’ve ordered here several times and it’s always delicious! They have the best hot subs, the Philly cheesesteak is amazing! Bread is always fresh and delicious! Yum!
This place is awesome... The subs are fantastic. Superior bread and rolls they pile on the meat and veggies. This is what a sub shop is supposed to be. Great atmosphere with history on the walls and a clean building. It's apparent they take pride not only in their food bit their building as well. Highly recommend if you have never been to give it a try it will soon be a favorite.
Always delicious sandwiches. The bread is amazing. Not the cheapest option, but you get what you pay for. My favorite is the cheese steak. Lots of quality fillings and totally customizable. Don't forget the chocolate chip cookies. Better than your mom's.
Excellent subs in a new location! I've long been a fan of Dibella's Rochester locations and stopped there whenever I was up there. The bread is made fresh on-site and the meat is some of the best quality I've tasted. Having only opened three days prior to my stopping in, I expected a green crew and although the young lady making my sandwich was new she was well trained in making the sandwich and it was every bit as good as the company's other location. I highly recommend this place.
Delicious food and fast, friendly service. Plenty of seating. The subs taste like no others that I've ever had in my life. Highly recommended!!!
Stopped in and motorcoach was out front. 8:20pm on a Tuesday night. Ladies softball team with a solid 20 women in line ordering dinner. The three behind the counter, slammed making food for these women and the trip back to Oneonta. One guy who I can’t remember his name was like… I’ll squeeze your sub order in so you don’t have to wait a half hour. Took my order and 5 minutes later… boom, sub and paid and out the door. Excellent customer service and the way it should be. He saw a problem that he could solve without a major disruption. Sometimes you can’t train for that but he should teach others situational awareness and how to adapt to keep everyone happy. Best crew in customer service I’ve seen in a long time. I travel all over Upstate NY and haven’t been treated as well in a long time. Kudos to the crew.
Ordered online, they were packed and it was delayed by a bit. The dude with longer hair came out with apology for the wait and couldn’t have been cooler. They’re always really easy going and enjoyable when we order from them and this time, this guy was the icing on the cake. Good job man.
DiBella's catering always does a great job for our GM meetings. Subs/salads are always fresh, condiments and utensils are exactly what we need. Friendly and helpful staff preparing and delivering our order. Thank you so much!!
Great service--personable, on time, easy transaction, and we loved the quality of our subs and salads--you could taste the freshness. Overall, a terrific experience.
These subs are made to your specifications. The options are numerous, the three sizes of rolls generous (awesomely flavored rolls), and the volume of toppings, including the meat and cheese, is more than substantial. We enjoy the staff; they are quite busy but always very friendly and interactive, and seem to get along well with each other as a team. The facility is well lit and the food postings are large and easy to read. The parking is simple, and there are a generous amount of parking spaces. The cost is extremely reasonable for quantity and quality. We always have at least a day or two of leftover sandwiches. A definite 5 star for quality, service, and deliciousness.
The Ithaca store has been amazing throughout the pandemic. Ordering and picking up is safe and easy. My only disappointment is that there isn't a way to give a tip through the app. I also can't say "thank you" to anyone with the way pickup is now. I understand but I miss being able to thank someone for making my meal. Thank you to each employee who completes my orders! I appreciate it.
The best subs I have ever had. They load it up with meat on a fresh rolls and have many fresh items to put on it. I live 35 minutes from DiBella’s in Ithaca and drive there couple times a month.
Food was good, and on time from Door Dash, little early. Very happy with the speed and service. No grape tomatoes in salad and I ordered a combo, no cookie came wih it. The website was a little confusing, wouldn't accept my gift card, wanted to split cost between gift and credit card but couldn't. Otherwise the price was correct. Would use site again or call it in. Thank you!!
DiBella's always does a great job! I use their online ordering for quick, convenient pickup and I've used them a couple times for party platters. The food is fresh and yummy, the price is right, and the staff are always pleasant!
The Ithaca DiBella's store offers consistent, friendly customer service. As far as I'm concerned, they make the best sandwich in Ithaca. My favorite sandwich is The Godfather on everything bread. Also, the restaurant appears clean.
Good option for a chain sub with delivery on Doordash. I ordered a large steak sandwich, chips, and a red velvet cookie for $20 all included. Everything tasted good, looked good, and came with solid presentation. It's hard to order warm sandwiches online because of lot of time when they are delivered, they are soggy. Everything was fresh when this sandwich came which is great. I felt full after eating this meal so it was money will spent. I will continue to order from this restaurant in the future. Food was prepped and delivered within 20 minutes.
Great subs. I've had a few orders filled wrong (missing items).
First time going and I was impressed ❤️ Because I didn't know what to order I asked the staff and I ordered a chicken Philly sub and some chocolate chip cookie with some pasta and it was amazing! It was so good I returned the following week in order something else and then ordered another pasta they got a bag of chocolate chip cookies. The chocolate chip cookies are so so so good! I will just go back for those alone. Anyway looking for something good stop there prices are pretty reasonable for subs.
had the chicken Caesar salad and it was fabulous! The lettuce was very fresh and the chicken was cooked perfectly; it was cooked but not overcooked which often happens with chicken breast. My only suggestion is that the bacon be cooked a little more so that it is crisp; next time I will mention this when I place my order online. Because I am a member of their club, I got two free cookies. Which were also delicious. Don't hesitate to become a member and go to DiBella's often!
Ordered sub lunch boxes for a retirement party. Staff went above and beyond to make sure our order was accurate, they even put individual names on the lunch boxes for us (I sent them a list of over 20 orders). The subs were excellent, everyone loved them. Bread was fresh, toppings were excellent, they actually put a good amount of meat in their subs unlike other "sub shops". Will go there from now on. The only thing I wish was different, get rid of bagged shredded lettuce...hate the taste of it. Fresh romaine or iceberg would be great. Excellent Job!
Honestly, best sandwiches in Ithaca. Their bread is so good, their cookies too. Great customer service. Highly recommend.
First time ordering here. A coworker informed me of this place. Amazing sub quality! Hands down the best I have ever had! Try it!!!
We googled sandwiches due ng a road trip. Called ahead with our orders. The plan was to continue the drive to our destination. First we checked to make sure they got the order correct. Big Mistake Opening the package filled our car with the smell of fresh sandwich. We couldn't stop ourselves. For the first time our car was quiet. I was nearing the last bite of my sandwich. I don't usually eat the whole thing in one sitting but it was so good. I asked my husband if he wanted to swap to try it. Only then did we realize we had taken each other's sandwiches. That's how good it was. I ate the wrong sandwich. I do not like to eat other people's food. You eat what you chose from the menu!!! Unless it's here. Then everything is good. Idk about the service or the atmosphere because I stayed in the car. That sandwich though. I'm pretty sure I have a phot somewhere.....
Fabulous experience! Delicious, nutritious food at low prices. Short wait times. A clean, neat store. Friendly, hospitable, kind employees. Plenty of free parking. Conveniently located on Elmira Road near downtown Ithaca. Highly recommended!
I tried the subs for the first time a few weeks ago and I was super impressed and wish I had tried it sooner! Very friendly and great service! The food is amazing!
This place puts Subway & Jimmy John's to shame. It was my first time here and I ordered the everything bread. I was not disappointed! I'll be back here again 👍🏼
Dibella's is certainly one of the best sandwich shops I have been to. The cold cuts are of high quality as is the bread that is baked in house. The fact that they offer kid's meals is a delight to families who have younger children. My only wish is that they would offer meal pricing for addons such as drinks and chips. However there is a 5 inch meal deal for about $9.99 which is reasonable for the product they offer.
Ran across this chain when our son was at university in Rochester, then Cleveland. THE BEST SUBS anywhere. Staff always great. Immaculately clean if you want to eat in. Old-timey atmosphere honoring the original concept, uniform in each location. Do try the "everything" bread for yours- tender & delicious! Freshest ingredients.
It was a quick pick up but the food was ready and staff friendly. Clean place.
I gave this place 4 stars because the subs are slightly pricy but, excellent service, delicious food and it's like always dead in there. Great place if you want to scarf down an after hike meal in peace.
I decided order ahead so when I got done with shopping it would be ready. I got there 5 minutes after it should have been ready but it wasn't. The guy that was working named Christopher apologized and immediately started working on it. But the other workers there were not friendly nor greeted anyone, it seemed like they didn't care about doing their job. The food did taste alright, cookies were fresh. They should keep track on online orders better next time, there was four others who were waiting for online orders besides me.
Best subs in Ithaca in my opinion at a fair price. You can get a very tasty 10" sub for barely over $10 and be super satisfied with what you get. They’re not perfect though. Go at the wrong time and they’ll have barely any bread choices. Also, it can take a while for you to get rung up. I understand holding bread that’s not gonna be eaten can be wasteful, but having three loaves of bread is too little.
A very clean and well maintained sub shop that blends its history with a modern setting. The prices are reasonable for this quality of sub. Dibella's has been around for over 100 years and is the influence behind Wegman's subs. I sometimes refer to this chain as Upstate's answer to Jersey Mike's.
Always great subs, very large portions, clean environment, staff can be hit or miss with friendliness. Prices seem to be on the higher end, but the quality is better than expected for a chain restaurant. Highly recommended for a quick bite to eat with tons of indoor seating in every location.
The subs here have really grown on me. The bread is a bit dry but if you get oil and vinegar it's actually quite tasty. They definitely don't skimp on the meat which is nice.
A perfectly adequate sub. There was nothing wrong with my experience. The employee helping me was friendly and efficient. The sandwich was fine. But there was nothing special about it. It was a sub. It had bread and meat and cheese and it will not stand out in any way. Okay.
I've been going to Dibellas for 30 years and was never disappointed, up until now. It has changed significantly in the 6 months the last time I visited. Most of all, their signature sub roll is not the same roll as was in the past. It has become smaller, the bite into the sub is chewier, tasted store bought and not as crusty and gnarliness biting into it is gone. Felt as if it was a stereotyped sub and has lost its significance. Granted it's well stuffed but it's not the same. It was a disappointing experience. I hope the other franchises didn't follow suit. . I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now and will visit a different franchise to prove myself wrong that it isn't across the board. God I hope not because if the change is throughout, they have lost a 30 year loyalist, so stay tuned
I’ve been there probably 30 times always satisfied but tonight was the worst I got a 14in cowboy and my wife got hers which was ok but the cowboy was terrible I ate like 3 bites horrible I threw it in the bag and fed it to the dog thinking what a waste of of 20 bucks will not visit again or recommend
Half way done eating my sub and a worker came over and asked if we had turkey on are subs, she took the half eaten subs away thew them out because the turkey was bad. Real nice since we ate half already!! Then a manager came over and said the turkey was ok to eat but was not sliced fresh that day. So we left confused and I think the manger was trying to cover up that the turkey was bad meat. They refunded are whole order, remade 1 fresh sub and gave coupons for free subs. That was great but still worried we ate bad meat and cld get sick.
I thought my sub (philly cheesesteak) was pretty good. My mother didn't really like her sub. We both loved the rolls. Pasta salads were too sweet. Staff super friendly and place was really clean. Will try again.
I love the curbside experience when its working correctly. I get my lunch and GO. But the last 2 times I have done a curbside pickup at the Ithaca location and have been extremely disapointed. My pickup was for 12pm , but I can see on the receipt that it printed out 10 minutes before it had to be ready. Come on give the workers 20 minutes to prepare the order! I waited in a long line of people until 12:30 for my curbside pickup. Same as the previous time. I dont think that curbside pickup is going to work for my lunches moving forward. The workers are stressed and the manager needs to fix this one even if they are short staffed.
My 2 sub order was delayed by a long time because of people placing 10 sub + orders. They need to introduce a limit on in person and online ordering. They have catering for a reason, I mean seriously people? Those poor workers are working hard enough. They don’t need to deal with your 20 sub order with no preparation. Normal people like me can’t get my order at a normal time because of people like this.
The food was great. The bread tasted really fresh. But the service was lacking. When I ordered my food I felt like I was burdening the person who took my order. I wouldn't discount this place as a choice to get a sub, but it likely wouldn't be at the top of my list. There are a lot of places to get a good sub.
They werent listening, got order wrong several times. Disjointed service. Did not want to appease the customer. Cashier had no info on order ahead of time. Many awkward moments. Food decent but nothing extra special. It was my first time. It was a birthday dinner. I wont need to try them again.
I worked at one of the first Dibella's sub locations in Rochester area and they were the best sub I'd ever eaten. We got subs last night from the Ithaca location and the sub roll was very disappointing. It was dry and tough. Not at all like the soft, chewy sub rolls I remember from the Henrietta Dibella's where I used to work. I hope that the next time we go is different or else we might have to keep getting our subs from Wegman's.
The food is mediocre, better than subway for the price but what really grinds my gears is the $2 charge to get a pickle on the side with your sub. Firehouse gives you that for FREE, and even if you don't want to give it away... $2?!!! Come on, let's be reasonable, thats ridiculous. One sub was also missing one of the toppings but I'm less perturbed about that, mistakes happen.
Sub was saturated with oil, mayonnaise and mustard. It was a soupy mess. Ate it in the restaurant and threw half of it away.
Restroom was clean, that was the one positive. I have had Dibellas all over the state and the sandwich here was the worst I ever had. Burned roll, sparse meat and condiments, manager blabbing away while customers were left waiting. Bad experience, but I won't give up on Dibellas brand.
The food here is great. The Italian Meatball is awesome and the Godfather on Sesame is just perfect. The service, however, isn't always reliable. I once waited 40 minutes for a cold sub, nothing to cook or heat up, just a normal cold sub. My friends and family have had similar issues where their order is either wrong or delayed. The servers here are also sometimes argumentative and not helpful if you have a custom order like "No onions on the Godfather." Yes. Apparently that's a confusing custom order. The server wanted me to read out all the ingredients if I wanted one removed. I love their subs, but I don't think I'll be coming back often if at all. And when/if I do, it'll be a mobile order to avoid the mixed bag of varying/unreliable customer service.
Well I downloaded app a few days before ordering! So when I put order in I didn't get 50% off first online order like it stated! So before I actually submitted I called to see why I wasn't getting discount, the guy said it takes 24hours, didn't make nonsense to me!! So I told him its misleading and false advertising! He's like I could give you a code today for a discount, so I'm like ok, it was for only 25% off, I'm just passed cause if ya ain't going give people 50% off first time ordering like it said then I ain't eating there again, just sayin
Screwed up our order then fixed it and still screwed up. Over priced for what we got asked for peppers and mayo got neither even on their 2nd time. Even went and ordered in person and they wrote it down.
We never got any food. After 2 attempts to order. On line ordering indicated my choices were not available so I tried calling. Using their website for the name and description of the items, I was told that they didn't have such items. When I asked if I came down and ordered in person if that would be easier and they said no. In the end, we never ordered Nor would I ever order from them.
Orderd a Buffalo chicken sub had to call in to request extra Buffalo sauce and blue cheese and didn't get them. In fact no blue cheese at all. By far the worse Buffalo chicken sub I've ever bitten into Also got an italian sub and requested extra mayo and oil. I am scared to death to check. Will find out at lunch tomorrow
Absolutely horrible customer service. This just happened a few minutes ago, but I was trying to call the store because ordering through the app wasn’t working. After being on the automated recording for a bit, someone picks up the phone and abruptly ends the call without saying anything. Now this could have been an accident so I called back. The person would now basically just answer the call but put it on the counter so that it would stop ringing and I could hear everything going on in the store. No “please hold”. No nothing. And they never came back to the phone. I tried this a few times and it was always the same. Like it would be so easy to just communicate “could you please hold on, we are a little busy right now” but this was just rude and dismissive. Really a shame.
Went to get a chicken salad that said it was 6.89 on the website but when I got there they wanted to charge me 10.99. Then when I showed then their menu on the web they wanted to argue with me and not give me the price on the web. Will not go back there.
I've eaten here twice since they opened. The first time was the first week they were open and it cost $30 for two people to eat lunch for mediocre Subs the most recent food I ate there made me absolutely sick to my stomach. I've heard from previous employees that the food handling is less than stellar
Went in to get a sub. Nobody asked if i needed help. Stood in front of where they were making the subs. The one guy looked at me but said nothing. No sign saying where to order. Someone came in almost 5 minutes after me and got waited on so i just left. I’ll never come here again. By the way there was 3 people working there.
By all means, their food is good, however each time I come here it’s always something. Extremely long wait, out of stock of a ton of ingredients, haven’t started my online order placed long before my arrival. I give up.
Employees were not very friendly. Waited 20+ minutes for two 5 inch ham subs and a 7 inch turkey sub. There were four employees working and it still took over 20 minutes In the car down the road to find out, I was given a cold, meatball sub instead of a turkey sub. If I did not have a 45 minute drive I would’ve driven back Not happy with the service or the food
I have given them 3 chances b4 I did this review.y first trip I watched a employee (Jesse) literally play with a dirty garbage can and then touch someone's food. Second trip I ordered online and they had no sub rolls! Trip number 3 My wife wanted a sub. I brought her home one she ate half of it and literally in 30 minutes was so sick she couldn't stay out of the bathroom. Was up all night and missed work. (I know that's what did it because I at wings over and was fine) I took a bite of the other half of the sub the next night while giving it to the dog and now I'm sick! Be careful going here! 3 strikes and they're put of here for me!!!!
Ordered a Philly cheesesteak/onion/peppers/provolone, what was I served- mayo on the sandwich, who puts mayo on a Philly cheesesteak? Asked for money refund-told NO. Said they would make another-well this one served no onions/peppers! Better check your sandwich right at counter people..
The bread was so hard. It was definitely old bread that they served me. Hurt the roof on my mouth. Not soft and fresh at all. Very disappointing.
Second time in a row we've had several items missed on our delivery order. Store was unable to re-deliver items missed, so half of us didn't get what we ordered. Will not order from them again.
2 subs $39.00. Tasted like a lettuce , tomato and onion sandwich. Couldn't even tell if it had mayo. They didn't put enough meat or cheese on it to even know what flavor sub i was eating. I had to go back up and get the dressing for it they forgot to put it on. We were the only customers in the building also. They treated me as if I was bothering them.
They do not serve 100% white albacore tuna. Taste was terrible. I went there just for the tuna, had it many times before and I know what cheap tuna taste like.
Today June 19 I walked in ordered 3 subs - Jessica is a wonderful GM but all 3 subs were screwed up so BAD!! Wrong size Wrong Bread Wrong toppings Wrong cheese….. We won’t be back until you change the order line BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS SO I can WATCH my sub being made!!!!! I don’t give a shit if it means Jessica has to walk more!!! I paid $51.55 for 3 Subs NO ONE WILL EAT!!!
Tried to come here 2 weeks ago and they were literally out of bread over an hour before closing time. How can a sandwich shop be out of bread?! Last I checked, bread is a pretty essential ingredient in a sandwich. This is ridiculous—we definitely won’t be coming back!!
