We had the best experience ever! Our waitress, Danielle went above and beyond service! She was so attentive to our needs and made sure everything was perfect! All waitresses need to take note and use her as an example as what it takes to be a waitress! Food was A+!

Absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Sutter! The rooms were charming and impeccably clean, creating a cozy atmosphere. The restaurant exceeded my expectations with a fantastic menu featuring fresh ingredients. Each dish was a delight, and the cocktails were wonderful. My date and I loved the passion fruit martini. A special shoutout to our server, Andrew—he was attentive and made our dining experience truly exceptional. Highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful getaway!

I had dinner at the Hotel Sutter about a week ago to celebrate my dad's birthday. The food was excellent + the service was great too (despite the restaurant being short a server or two)! I had the Chicken Saltimbocca + it was absolutely the best, yummiest, + most tender, chicken I've had in ages! I 10000% recommend dining at the Hotel Sutter for special occasions + everyday meals as well - they're THAT good! 🤤💗

We have stayed in Sutter Creek a few times to see family and Hotel Sutter is a must for brunch, dinner, and drinks. We always have the highest quality service, the most fresh and delicious tasting food, and a beautiful view. The hotel is stunning inside and out. They keep it very clean, decorations all around, and it’s very cozy. There is restaurant, outside, and bar seating on the main floor, and there is a balcony with heaters on the second floor. The view of Main Street from all the different seating areas is beautiful at night, plus food and drinks are reasonable in price. The staff never disappoints and they are all so sweet!

Had dinner here after an out of town youth football game. Aaron gave us the best service we’ve had in a long time. We eat at fine dining restaurants often an I wish service was this good all the time. Definitely worth asking for him by name when making reservations. The food was also as good as the service and the menu options were great!!! Steaks, Lamb, Scallops, Short Ribs, everything you could want….and order the bread pudding for dessert! Cheers and Enjoy!

Danielle made our dining table experience memorable! She also recommended great appetizers and dessert. She made sure we had utensil's refilled drinks and made sure the food was delicious and well cooked. She had a positive attitude and made us feel comfortable.

Stopped in for lunch; very comfortable and upscale interior. Bartender who took our order was warm and friendly, made great recommendations and the meal (burger and prime rib sandwich) was delicious and reasonable. On top of that the town itself is super nice with a classic Main Street and the hotel is right next to Chocolatte, perfect coffee stop afterwards

Aaron was amazing! He took such great care of our big party of 15 people. He made the 2 Deaf ladies feel included. The young teen helpers were great too. Thank you for accommodating us. We had a great visit as a family with everyone gathering from out of state.

Came in during a rainy day for lunch from Sacramento and sat at the bar. We’ve never been to this spot. Daron and Brandon were absolutely exceptional and really made our experience. So lively and full of energy which is hard to find these days. This is our new spot and we will be back!! Thank you for the incredible service and making it fun you two! :)

We come to Hotel Sutter for dinner every year and watch the parade! Danielle took very good care of us and provided excellent customer service. Our food was amazing too (Prime Rib & Braised Short Ribs). This town is amazing, with awesome people!

Had an amazing dinner at Hotel Sutter today! The filet mignon and salmon were DELICIOUS!! Gabby provided wonderful service and Duran was working his magic behind the bar... Pear Martini and Bees Knees, couldn't have been any better. Can't wait to go back!

We love coming here for dinner. The service is always great and the food is too. Our server Aaron was amazing. Super friendly and helpful with the menu and makes great suggestions. He is always smiling and eager to help. Great place to have dinner or just some appetizers and a drink.

Aaron, our waiter, treated us like family. We have been going to Hotel Sutter for years and the new menu is phenomenal. Our table got a smorgasbord and it was all fantastic. I’m talking salads, vegetarian gnocchi, salmon, and steak! Great wine selection and delicious cocktails. All made that much better by the fabulous Aaron.

Great restaurant - This review is especially for Andrew, our outstanding server on a busy Friday night. What an efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and kind young man! (And, no, we've never met before 🤣). He made our dining experience EXCEPTIONAL. We make it a point to dine here whenever we come up to visit our kids. The restaurant is consistently above par - menu choices, decor, cleanliness and mixologist are great! Thank you for another delightful experience.

Came to town late and stumbled upon Hotel Sutter as we were searching for food. Brian, who was working the bar, was extraordinarily accommodating and helped keep the kitchen open to serve us and made sure we well taken care off. The food and drinks were really good and threw us off. The cocktails were complex and tasty. The food was amazing. Our only regret is not getting here 30 mins earlier so we could enjoy some more entrees.

Andrew H: Andrew has been our server for two of our visits over the past year. We're up from San Diego and his energy, politeness, and relatability are second to none. Plus, he's often broken my mental tie over what to order with excellent suggestions.

Unexpectedly found ourselves in Sutter Creek for dinner. We walked into The Sutter Hotel to see if they could accommodate the two of us for dinner. After a short wait at the Bar we were taken to our table with are freshly made martinis. Our server was Erin. He was very friendly, helpful and responsive. Our meal from appetizers through entrees and right through desserts was delicious. It has been a long while since we have been there, but now we have reasons to return sooner. We are locals!!

Do not pass this place without stopping. This place is wonderful, food is amazing and the serivice has been the best! Aaron was our server and Shane was helping him. We also hung out at the bar before being seated and Natalie and Jackson were so much fun to talk to while we were waiting for our table. We came here to treat my in-laws and they loved it. And I almost forgot to mention, the food is delicious! The Whiskey burger was great and we my mother in law’s soup was so good (turkey gnocchi)!

Great food, GREAT food Service, and we loved the balcony view! Robert and Casey were AMAZING! They didn’t miss a beat! Their unbelievable Service contributed to our fantastic meal! Unfortunately, the lady at the front desk that welcomed us was not so great. We all felt very unwelcomed and she was very unfriendly despite our lighthearted approach. We even went so far as canceling our dinner reservation because of her unpleasant attitude. Darn! We were here celebrating our friends 50th birthday! Update: we went to the management and they quickly corrected everything and encouraged us to come eat. We did and it was amazing. Still don’t love the front desk, lady, but everything else is great.

This was my first time here. Andrew and Danielle were the best. Best service ever! Food was delicious. They made great recommendations. Robert our bartender made delicious drinks. Will definitely come here again.

This was a beautiful place. Cute shops to go too. Eating was great as well. The room situation not as much. The room was super cute. It wasn't till we tried to go to bed. The bed was bad. When you laid down it felt like you sunk to the floor. Not comfortable either. Then there was the window that looked out to the hallway where the ice machine was. It did have a curtain but the light shown through the whole night which was another thing that kept us up. Would have requested a different room but they where completely booked up. Like I said before super cute place, great food, just not so great for sleeping.

We enjoy dinner at the hotel restaurant. A wonderful menu in a wonderful setting. The wine list buy bottle or by the glass is amazing giving you a full amador county experience. The highlight of our dining experience was Andrew, our waiter. So professional one of the best experiences I've had in the last 5 years

Just wanted to share our experience at the restaurant. We were seated right away, even with no reservations. Food was delicious! My husband had the prime rib and I had the filet mignon. Cooked to perfection and the signature drinks were awesome! Andrew was a very attentive server, polite, friendly and quick with service!

Food is amazing, drinks are amazing, and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. We tried the new watermelon dessert and it is a must order!! Such fresh ingredients and flavor. This place has turned around from a few years ago. It is my recommendation for anyone looking for a place to eat in Sutter Creek. I also heard they have brunch on the weekends, we will definitely be back for that.

Came here to meet someone and had a couple of drinks. We were told that upstairs tables had reservations, so we were able to sit outside on the entry outdoor seating tables. They were quite small, but accommodating for two and some drinks. There was a nice view of the local theater, pub across the street, and many people passing by. Reception offered us some menus with instructions to order from the bar. However, we lost in conversation for a bit, and the bartender noticed us seating and approached us kindly to offer us service. Promptly ordered some drinks, and they were served almost immediately. Upon a second round, it was not difficult to catch the attention of the tender for another round.

Danielle was our waitress. She was so helpful and friendly. Food was awesome, as usual. Hotel Sutter Restaurant continues to please, and it gets exciting when they freshen up the menu. Definitely coming back and recommending to others.

Only eaten here, never stayed overnight. The food has always been great. This has been a great stop on my motorcycle rides and a great place to meet friends from other counties and from the bay area. You can count on great food, and always a well stocked bar. Customer service is automatic. I've had breakfast and lunch at least 10 times here and NEVER had a bad meal. BACON 🥓 GOOD 👍, MAHI TACOS 🌮 GOOD 👍, BURGERS, FRIES, SANDWICHES AND BEER 🍺 ALWAYS GREAT! I've grabbed dessert a few times and it's been great each time as well. You can order from the bar, or grab a table inside. Almost always room for a single at the bar and usually two can squeeze in at the bar or along the sidewalk. If you've never been here before, it's worth a stop. Looking forward to my next ride into the foothills, just so I can stop in again.

Our server Danielle was so fun and entertaining!! She touched our table multiple times and I couldn’t ask for a better experience!! The chicken saltimbocca was the JAM!!

We had dinner at the restaurant. Lots of gluten free options. I had the beef ribs on mashed potatoes. They were fantastic, so soft and succulent. No reaction. Free parking in the lot behind the hotel and on the street. Only complaint was the 35 minutes from ordering to service.

Last week, my wife and I decided to visit this establishment due to the large number of positive reviews it received in a very short time. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff welcomed us in a friendly manner and immediately asked where we would prefer to sit—at a table or the bar. We chose the bar. We appreciated that they had no problem letting us taste different beers to help us decide what we wanted. The cocktails my wife ordered were prepared very professionally, quickly, and, most importantly, they had real flavor and a pleasant aftertaste—something you enjoy drinking. The food also impressed us. It was delicious, without any unpleasant aftertaste or heaviness in the stomach. Additionally, we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the establishment. From the bar counter and utensils to the restroom, it was evident that cleanliness is a priority here. The only unpleasant moment was when my wife had her second cocktail—we noticed that the glass it was served in was cracked (photo attached). Considering the dim lighting and the large number of guests, we understood this was unintentional. However, we strongly recommend inspecting all glasses after washing to avoid this in the future. It would have been nice if the bartender had offered some sort of complimentary gesture from the establishment after such an incident—this would reflect the level of their customer service. Unfortunately, nothing was offered. Overall, everything was good, and we left satisfied. Yes, we would recommend this place to our friends and would come back ourselves.

Family was in town so we wanted to take them out for a drink & appetizers. Hotel Sutter is always a classic place to take friends 🧡 family when you wanna get away and have that small town vibration. The Copper Room was filled by the time we left. A guy playing the guitar singing, people dancing to his sound, and cheerful people on a Friday night 🌙 Would recommend getting there before 9.

We went to the restaurant at Hotel Sutter. It was ok. We started with sharing the crispy Brussels sprouts. Then I had the chicken Caprese and my husband had the NY steak. We finished with the chocolate lava cake. The sprouts were good, very tasty. The chicken was meh. For $34, I expected it to be great, it wasn't. It lacked flavor. I wouldn't order it again. My husband liked his steak, he thought it was a good deal. For $39, it probably was. And it was cooked medium rare, as he requested. He tasted the peppercorn in the whiskey peppercorn sauce but not the whiskey. The lava cake was a rich, dark chocolate and was pretty good. The restaurant was very noisy.

First time at sutter hotel restaurant. Our server April was awesome, friendly but not overbearing. Our meals were great & drinks were amazing. We had spicy watermelon margaritas. I would have thought of watermelon & jalapeño in a margaritas but it works. Absolutely delicious. No complaints at all. Food, drinks & service were great. We will definitely be back.

With this being our first visit to Sutter Creek and staying 2 nights, I wanted to celebrate our anniversary at the 2 best restaurants in town. After reading multiple reviews, we chose Element at the Hanford House where we were staying and the Hotel Sutter. Our experience at Element was fantastic, Hotel Sutter... absolutely horrible. Staff was friendly upon being seated. We ordered the loaded tots with the cheese and sauce on the side as my wife has a dairy allergy and a salad to share. The tots came out perfect and were awesome! The highlight of dinner. The salad never came so we just decided we'd forget about it. I ordered the New York steak, with no mushrooms. My wife explained her dairy allergy again and the server went and asked about which dishes/sides she could eat. She came back and said the salmon dish was fine. When our food arrived, my steak had mushrooms but I just decided to scrape them off and eat it anyway. The mash was lacking in flavor and the potatoes had the "boiled too long taste". My wife's dish came out and she could tell the green beans had butter on them. She asked the server who immediately realized they screwed up. She apologized and stated she'd have the kitchen fix the green beans. When she returned, she said the green beans did have butter AND the rice dish served with the salmon had dairy as well. So my wife finally just ordered a salad with chicken- boring but safe. By this time, I'm done eating! Then they bring the salad we ordered as an appetizer and set it in front of me!!! After I'm done eating! By now my wife is in tears, hungry and frustrated beyond belief. She finally got a piece of plain salmon with no sides just so she could eat something! The manager was very apologetic, offered us free drinks and dessert and comped everything. My wife took him up on a drink but at this point I was DONE! It's one thing to make a mistake, it's another when that mistake is repeated and can send you to the ER! Despite the manager's attempts to make things right, we won't be back again!!!
