Halal Munchies Long Island City Reviews
most of the food is delicious, I mostly always get the fish over rice and it’s delicious, and the chicken is also great. The service is great and the employees are very friendly.
I've been ordering in from this place multiple times a week. The food is very fresh and super high quality ingredients. Even with the uber eats markups and fees and delivery fees and tax and tip, it's still worth it. They even get my custom sauce requests right. Seriously, a consistently happy customer. And today they sent me $13 off my next order on Uber eats. That's just so kind. I want this business to do really really well.
Wonder service, great taste. check them out fr fr 💯
Probably the best Chicken over Rice platter ive ever had. So flavorful, the rice was cooked perfectly, the fries were crispy. Their white sauce is drinkable. 10/10
Great food, great price, and served quickly
Halal Munchies always hits the spot. The food is fresh, flavorful, and filling, and the portions are just right. It’s the perfect place to satisfy your cravings.
i've only ever ordered delivery for the mix combo platter from here, and it's been delicious every time! portions are great, and the meat is so tender. i also think it's a good price.
I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I've ordered in, ordered carryout, and delivery and the experience has been so pleasant. The gentleman at the register is super nice and accommodating, and the staff is excellent. If you ever need anything or have a question, feel free to ask and they'll provide you with what you need. The food is amazing - i typically get the Lamb over Rice with white sauce, fries and salad. Prices are decent, about what i expect. I love going here when my work location shifts to this area, I hope your experience is great, too!
I wish I lived in NY just to eat here. Tried this place on vacation from Florida. Best Halal food I've ever head. Nothing else like it. The fries were perfectly seasomed and the flavor of eveything is so rich. The salad is so fresh and bright. Best thing we ate the whole week.
My new favorite spot hands down because their chicken-lamb-mix has a generous amount of salad that no other halal food place offers! The salad is fresh as hell, and the chicken & lamb do not make me feel heavy and fat after I eat the whole platter. I eat the entire platter feeling lightweight, which is rare. The balance of spices is perfect! The white sauce is not overwhelming because it's not the same white sauce that 99% of halal carts use: their white sauce is more of a creamy, light salad dressing. The chicken and lamb complement each other perfectly in texture and subtle spices. This is legit the best chicken-lamb-mix that does not make me fart or feel guilty afterwards.
Literally best halal food I’ve ever had. I’m usually not crazy about this style of food but this place is bomb. White sauce is great, I recommend the mixed platter :)
Halal Munchies is one of my absolute favorite spots for halal food in Queens. Their Chicken Over Rice and Mixed Over Rice are my go-to dishes every time. Despite the wide variety of options on the menu, I find myself always coming back to these two favorites because they never disappoint. The portions are generous, the flavors are rich, and the quality is consistently excellent. The atmosphere is great, and the service is always friendly. Even when I’m not in the area, I make sure to place online orders because I just can’t get enough. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious halal food!
Here's a rewritten, concise version of the review: Highly recommend! Their platters are a game-changer - generous portions, varied options, and expertly prepared. From classic comfort food to international flavors, their dishes are packed with flavor. A must-try!
I was taking my bike trip and saw this fantastic place. The girl at the cash machine was so kind while I asked for recommendations, and I honestly doubted ordering fish over rice; however, it was delicious. I have no words to describe this savory dish. My recommendation is to pass by or order online, but you need to taste it.
Very nice staff and food is delicious 5*
The food is great and affordable. Clean and food is consistent
Absolutely excellent service in there and HUGE portions worth the price!!! Staff are incredibly nice and efficient
Their spicy crispy chicken snadwich are outstanding with tbe combo offer❤️❤️
Very good place I go here everyday and I like how the cashier is friendly with everything. Would recomend
5 stars. The food’s always delicious. The staff are always friendly. Good vibes all around :)
Always recommended!! Great staff hard workers, excellent customer service, food with delicious flavors 10/10
Very tasty food and friendly staff. Umango the cashier is very kind and helpful. Excellent customer service
I come here to get american food LMAOO but their halal food is also good, the only complaint is that its not good for dining in at all.
Ouhlala this food tastes great and they give you so much for your money. Amazing 👏
Clean store with friendly service. They have added spicy rice to the menu now! Our favorite is the lamb over rice, chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks.
Generous halal portions, super flavorful chicken & lamb over rice, and their fries are perfectly crispy and seasoned. Always fresh, friendly service, and open late—great spot for late-night cravings or a satisfying takeout. Clean interior and easy parking too. Highly recommend!
Ordered the chicken platter with rice and half a salad half hummus. Food was good, staff is nice.
Best halal food in Queens. This is coming from a food connoisseur who has been consuming chicken and rice from all the spots for over 20 years. Every time I visit, I try something new, and it's yet to disappoint me. The chicken Kofta is 🔥 you have to try it over rice with salad and hummus. 😉 1st time we went, we also had the Philly steak sandwich. It took me 3 days to finish this sandwich, but it was definitely delicious.
This place is awesome! Walked by so many times but finally went inside and I’m glad I did. Typical chicken and rice affair, but with some extra stuff. Nice, clean space, albeit a bit small. But the food is made right in front of you. They have kiosks for ordering, so it’s easy to take your time and get your order the way you want. I had the chicken and rice with salad and hummus. Knocked it out of the park. Large serving size, great flavors, crisp salad. 💯 would eat here again and I can’t wait, actually Also the place was very active and the customers were fellow “brown” people, so it must have been authentic or at least a crowd pleaser!
Very good service, kind people, fresh and delicious food! Bang for your buck. One serving can feed 2! Definitely coming back.
Best wings super flavorful and delicious. Staff people are awesome and have ordered maybe 3 times already. Never disappointed
The food is amazing, I love the mix platter with lamb and chicken is so good, is a small place to eat is pretty good, also the food is ready like en 5 to 10 minutes
This was my first time walking into Halal munchies. I was on Queens Boulevard headed to an event me and My son stopped to get some food. I ordered a Halal baconator burger, three tenders with french fries for My son and three pieces of falafel. The food was fresh. it was super hot, it wasn’t salty. It was really really really good. I will definitely be ordering from here again so I can try the chicken over rice. I told the guy at the register that the food was Bussin Bussin!
Sooooo delicious, and so generous with portions, had to ask my son to finish it for me. And he definitely wasn’t gonna complain! 🤣
Good prices, excellent food and nice restaurant . Always offers fast service and friendly staff. The food is delicious…. You will never regret eating here.
This halal spot was a pleasant surprise during a detour while I waited for my favorite game shop to open. I ordered three falafel balls, and they were perfectly crispy and absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back for a full meal next time.
I work in the area and I’ve been here two times. First I had the mix platter which by the way they give you plenty of food especially for the price there asking for. The second time I had a gyro with fries inside it was definitely very good. Going to try there burger today and will write a review on that but so far amazing food, great customer service and there food looks very fresh and up to standards
I always go there and order the crispy chicken combo — it’s super crispy, fresh, and full of flavor! The food always tastes amazing and never disappoints. The staff are very welcoming and polite. I really love their food and service — highly recommend it to anyone who loves delicious, crispy chicken!
Halal Munchies is amazing! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. Definitely my go-to spot when I’m craving something delicious and halal. Highly recommend
Food was great. The process from walking in to placing and receiving your order was simple. Large menu, but I ordered the chicken over rice. It's best to order to go, the seating is limited.
The serving sizes here are huge easily enough to feed two people comfortably. Every platter also comes with what’s basically a full serving of French fries piled right on top, which makes the meal even more filling. The sauces are really flavorful and complement the meats perfectly, and the food always comes out fast and fresh. Great spot if you’re looking for generous portions, quick service, and solid halal comfort food.
The food was prepared with obvious skill. I couldn't finish my meal because of the large serving. The vibe puts you at ease. Their team's attentiveness was the standout feature. The menu items look delicious before tasting.
The food was absolutely delicious—served hot and freshly made. The sauces were fresh, and even the veggies tasted crisp and full of flavor. The service was amazing, and the portions were generous for the price. Overall, the meal was totally worth it. This is my go-to restaurant in Queens, Long Island City, and I’d definitely recommend it!
The best place to go to in nyc. Food is the best compared to other hyped places. I am from here but if i had to recommend places to other people Halal munchies is gonna be the no.1. Especially this location is the best. The employees are gonna treat you like their own here. MUST TRYY!!!
My first ever meal in New York did not disappoint! Delicious great and good quality food ! Decent portion size ! Would highly recommend this casual place for a wholesome meal ! I ordered the sheesh kebab platter and it was extremely delicious. The lady who served me was also helpful and generous when I asked for a little more sauce !
Nice and clean food. Didn’t expect that huge portion. Normally, I need more than 1 order. But, this makes me full with one order. I ordered combo over rice. It comes with chicken, meat, veggies, crispy French fries and rice, all included! Soda is not free, but the dish alone is enough to fill a person very well.
Ate here on a recommendation from a good friend and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and portion size of our meals. Well prepared, clean and worth the visit! Also note worthy, in some reviews people complained of the Credit/Debit transaction fees which are an additional 3.99% added to your total with NY state/city tax if you pay with card. Retailers are just passing these fees onto the customer rather than incur it themselves. Business as usual!
The food is amazing. Fries with brown rice mixed with either lamb or chicken (your choice) and salad on either side and all with white and any other sauce you might like? Just the best combo. Made with an average of 8-15 mins all fresh and organically made. 100% halal zabiha certified and has an Arabian atmosphere giving it a style of taste. Seating accommodations are mostly for families who want to dine in but nonetheless the food is all the more worthwhile. $10 per platter with even more variety on their menu, who can beat the classic gyro???
Staff is very friendly, great vibes inside. Got combo platter with fries and hummus, and chicken nuggets. Lamb was a bit lacking in flavor to my taste. Chicken and fries were good. Chicken nuggets were not really that good, but probably shouldn’t have ordered it anyway - was just for a craving. Would come back.
I like the Halal Munchies franchise. They serve up good food consistently. Some menu items are better than others. Today, at this location I was served an average meal rather than the high standards that I've come to expect from the different locations. Other locations have large, heavily breaded chicken tenders that are phenomenally crunchy, and fresh. This location seems to have chosen mass manufactured tenders from their vendors. The type that you get in a basic kids meal at a regular fast food restaurant like sonic. Really disappointing, but average. The rest of the menu looked phenomenal, as I watched them serve up good meal after good meal. I'd come back, but never order the chicken tenders.
Service and food was good, little more meat would have been good rather than loading up on rice.
I absolutely love this halal munchies spot. I’d choose the lamb over rice instead of the chicken—the lamb packs far more flavor—and you can’t skip the fries; they’re phenomenal.
So I give this a 3 because I have had better CRISPY wings at other Halah Munchies. This is one of my favorite franchises i use to stop here before going to work in the city. Looks like a new crew still friendly but not CRISPY and my Mango Harbanero wasn't spicy either like someone was scared of a little heat. Sorry guys I'll order from long island.
I regular here and the usual man Ahmed at the counter is so sweet. Today I went in and had awful service. The man at the counter was kind but confused when I asked for just chicken. No salad no rice. I have a dietary restriction. He charged me for a full platter despite my request. I said if youre gonna charge me full price just give me the salad. I was fine with that. The issue came when he told the man who was making my platter to at least give me extra chicken . The gentleman making the platter shook his head no and just handed him the plate. Why not just listen and offer me the extra chicken as the clerk requested. Nasty attitude from the gentleman in the kitchen. Id rather walk out when Ahmed is not there then eat here with the negative service.
good vibes and food but when you get charged there’s ‘taxes and fees’ so you get charged $0.5 to place the order on the kiosk… cashier said it would be the same if i ordered with him. feel robbed for getting charged to place my order
The purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this restaurant in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review. Atmosphere: So, the restaurant itself is pretty spacious, with a clear menu so you can easily choose what you want to order. Clean for the most part. You can either order at the kiosk or with a cashier. Service: Service was good. As I said before, you can order at the kiosk machine or with a cashier. The kiosk is not confusing and has a straightforward ordering process. From what I saw, the cashiers pay close attention to your order and make the order process as quickly as they can. You can also pay cash, which will enable you to pay a bit less than paying at the kiosk machine. Food: They have a variety of dishes on their menu. I can only speak about the Chicken Gyro, which I ordered to go. Honestly, I'm not a fan of red chicken meat. I understand the chicken gets that color from their seasoning preparation, but it is just too red for me. The taste was okay, not bad nor delicious. My Chicken Gyro also got wet with some of the ingredients in it, which made it a bit hard to handle it. Price: Prices are okay. I guess if you pay with cash, it will be alright. Considering the factors above, it is just up to you and your experience to decide whether to buy there regularly or not.
Serves food relatively quickly. Tenders was a fail. Too much bread and not as much chicken. Wings were OK but won't get again. Burger patties are supper thin, almost like smash burgers. I got 3 to feel satiated. Custom salad option is good. The biggest bummer was that they have some flies/gnats flying around, occasionally landing on the food. Restroom was clean. Place was well kept. Staff was friendly. Fries were good with the platter. Philly cheese stake was actually good. For the healthiest protein option get 2 portions of Philly cheese stake as a platter. Some healthier drink options like Spindrift will be great as well. I hope and wish that they fix a few issues I mentioned and get better. They have penitential to do much better.
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant that located at Queens Blvd. From the moment I walked in ( that was at night) , the staff was shockingly rude and laughing loud and don’t pay any attention for us . They made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued customers. The service was slow, and any questions we had about the menu were met with eye rolls and curt responses. Unfortunately, the food was even worse. It was bland, poorly prepared, and tasted far from fresh. To make matters worse, I ended up with a stomachache later that evening, which made me question the hygiene and food safety practices of this establishment. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Bad service, bad food, and health concerns — definitely not worth the time or money.
The worst place I’ve ever been to. I was genuinely shocked out how poor the service was as well as how dirty the establishment was in general. Never going back
I just left from there! Never again. The service was horrible. The portion of mixed over rice was barely enough to feed a roach. They skimp on the portions and the quality was terrible. I've been to the one on Springfield and union tpke and in fresh meadows. They both have great quantity and quality. Also the food came out cold. We asked to stay. We also ordered wings but the mix over rice and chicken over rice was ready but the wings weren't common sense dictates that you bring out the food that's ready and bring the wings out when their done. Won't support this particular halal munchies.
LOW QUALITY MEAT. Good portions but the lamb meat quality is worst than a street vendor hotdog. The chicken is also dyed a red color for some odd reason. Fries are the best, the rest of food here sucks. Cheap place that focuses on volume instead of quality
They manipulate prices; every day they have a different price.
Worst place ever. These people doesn't even know how to talk with the customers. Very rude and arrogant service. The food is dry and the meat is hard. I told them to give me some extra sauce but instead they forced me to eat whatever they gave. They charge me $1 for small cup of sauce where the other Halal store give it for free. The owner is very vulgar. I saw how he was shouting towards his employees.
