Costa y Mar Sunnyside Reviews
Peruvian and Ecuadorian flavors perfectly united. This restaurant made the choice easy by delivering both with incredible authenticity and taste. The food? A solid 10 out of 10. Tania was amazing — super knowledgeable, attentive, and made the whole experience even better with her excellent service. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy. I’ll definitely be coming back!
It was my first time visiting Costa y Mar, and let me just say, it did not disappoint! I grew up eating guatita, and their version tasted just like a bite of my childhood. Every dish at our table (we were a group of seven) was absolutely perfect. We loved it so much that we came back the very next day for lunch. I can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to bring more friends to experience this delicious Ecuadorian gem.
Just superb. This comfortable and welcoming place has delicious food, beautifully presented, and a friendly and efficient staff. Peruvian and Ecuadorian are the most interesting South American cuisines and Costa y Mar excels at both. I had llapingacho, a dish I wish I had discovered years ago. It looked spectacular and tasted great. There is a nice selection of sometimes-hard-to-find South American beer, too. A memorable dinner.
Increíble. Took the chance based on the reviews and was not disappointed. The service was so great and welcoming. The food was delicious and well portioned with a free dessert that hit the spot. Definitely recommend!!
My new favorite restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious, featuring natural and authentic flavors that truly stand out. The service is unmatched, and this gem definitely deserves recognition from everyone. I can't emphasize enough how delightful the ceviche is, and I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with the owner. I highly recommend this place—1,000,000%
The food is delicious! 10/10. One of the best Arroz Chaufa de pollo dishes I’ve ever had. Green sauce is flavorful/spicy. Friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommend!
Amazing food and fantastic service. 10/10 recommend, will definitely be back! The staff was very accommodating and made us feel at home. Come hungry, large servings.
I got convinced to come here based on the reviews and was not disappointed!! I ordered the ceviche de pescado, also a chicha to drink. The portion was generous, tasty and fresh. The chicha was perfect. Finally, the best part was the customer service, really friendly staff! Will definitely come back for more.
As an Ecuadorian, finding authentic and fresh food is always a treat, especially when it reflects the flavors of the coast. This restaurant offers a wonderful blend of Peruvian fusion and Ecuadorian cuisine, with every dish made fresh—from the fresh fried rice to the vibrant seafood. The experience was enhanced by the exceptional customer service. Tania, the owner, greeted us with such warmth and genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home. Highly recommend making a trip here—you won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to return!
Food was so delicious and the atmosphere and service was warm and very gracious. Please come here and give them business!
This place has great delicious Ecuadorian food that reminded me of home. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. Definitely try both the green and red picante with the Chaufa de Pollo, but it doesn't even need it because it tastes great on its own. Also, the ceviche was to die for. That was heavenly! So much sabor!!!
ordered the recommended churrasco and ceviche mixto cause we had no idea what to get And the recommended passion fruit juice which we heard the kitchen blitz up fresh in the back So flavorful! Very filling too, can't wait to be back and try the rest of the menu!
Top tier!!! Love the food the service was amazing Good atmosphere , we had a lovely evening eating here would definitely come back !!!!🥰🥰🥰❤️
We had an incredible experience enjoying Peruvian-Ecuadorian fusion cuisine. Ceviche mixto and sopa a la minuta is must try. And love that they have fresh maracuya juice. Owner is very sweet.

Delicious ceviche mixta, churrasco, and passionfruit juice! Clean and spacious inside. Would come back and definitely recommend to friends!
The food is excellent! Top tier. A little heads up though, the waiting feels very long BUT that’s because they cook everything fresh. So make sure you’re not in a rush and enjoy a conversation while you wait. Peruvian and Ecuadorian food mix. Been there 3 times and I’m definitely coming back!
After coming out of Thalia Spanish Theater, we crossed the street to Costa y Mar for dinner. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress who immediately sat us down after greeting us. Once we ordered our food, the food was delivered promptly and it was delicious!!! We ordered different entrees and they were all delicious and plentiful!!! We found it to be a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back!!! Lydia & Rafael
The service is amazing and food is even better. We got the mixta ceviche and the tiger mixta ceviche. Incredible food
A delicious hidden gem in the heart of Sunnyside! Arguably the best chicken I've had in the northern hemisphere, and definitely in NYC. Cozy interior with unmatched prices, definitely worth going if in Queens!
Picked up from this neighborhood spot, got a combo for $52.50 that could have easily fed 4-5 people. Food was absolutely delicious and so well seasoned. Green sauce was spicy and yummy! Owner was so sweet and friendly and threw in a free cookie. Definitely recommend if you’re in the neighborhood :)

Kinda pricey, don’t recommend. The anticuchos $17 for small sad thin 8 pieces that were over cooked when asked for rare. Sopa la minueta was a little watery and bland. I liked the Pescado a lo macho. The fish was fried which wasn’t expecting but it worked well with the other seafood. Nice sauce and pretty big portion but then at the end they told us the price changed from their menu from $25 to $30 which doesn’t sound like my problem if you didn’t inform us before or during service. Meanwhile they have posted prices of cash or credit card prices all over. We paid cash and they ended up amending the price without us making a fuss so that was considerate. Liked that it was bring-your-own-alcohol and a bit cheaper if you pay cash. Waitress was nice and pretty quick. Restaurant was clean and was warm when we came in from the cold. There’s a lot of Peruvian restaurants in the neighborhood and this one didn’t stick out as better than others.
