Bar Cava Martinez Reviews
Definitely a local bar where anyone can drink alone or with a friend in a comfortable and quiet setting without the need to impress others. A limited supply of beer on-tap, but a full selection of bottled beer and a good selection of hard alcohol. A long traditional bar with large screens for watching sports.
Fun local club. Opens earlier than other clubs. Can be some drama at times.
Nice place for good cocktails and chill conversations. The Bartenders do a great job with creative cocktails

How could anybody from Martinez not like whiskey Lane it's a city treasure.College Lanes has been in Martinez longer than I have and I've been there over well 50 years.I'm going to this bar since I was 16 hahaha not really. now it's a great great hometown bar it's the best way to describe it the pictures show what it is pretty friendly. I wouldn't recommend being an a****** in this place. cuz I'll kick you out on your ear now it's a great place lot of fun go see good drinks heavy pour
No food Here 1:30 pm January 21st,26. The bartender was super sweet & has good loyal regulars. She checked up on my several occasions & they carry Sun cruiser ice tea!!!! So hard to find!!!
Really great bar. Great service from Melissa, we had such a fun family night out. The music was good, and the vibes were perfect. Come here for a good time!
Stiff drinks and Kool bartenders! I look forward to further days here :) Amazing sports bar and wonderful patio with two BIG screens. Great juke box for music 😎✨🤠
We came to Whiskey Lane for the first time to watch the Super Bowl and were lucky enough to get two open seats. The staff were truly kind, energetic and generous; and even thanked us for coming. They offered a complementary barbecue, Bacardi rum shots and a raffle, where pretty much everyone won something (shirts and hats). There were several large screen TV's, so it was a bit difficult to hear the game, even with max volume. Regardless, we had so much fun watching two closely matched, top notch, competitive teams; along with rowdy songs and cheers from the crowd. It could not have been more perfect (minus the last few seconds of the game). Thank you, Whiskey Lane - you are totally awesome and you made us feel so welcome!

Its okay , not what it was years ago ! But I guess not to many bars that changed hands are , but I have seen a few that topped the one before them ! I think it has a lot to do with the folks that own the places cause like anything it will show as much as one puts into it ! It is what it is ! Then again mabe it me ? Cause I don't visit bars as much as I did years ago ! Lol. Keep that in mind or not !
The night staff is very friendly on Friday/Saturday nights. I forget her name but she is blonde and young, she is super awesome! The day staff wouldn’t serve me cause they don’t accept passport.
I think this is a dive bar/neighborhood/local bar. bartenders are super cute and friendly your typical bar with a pool table. I don’t know if they serve food. I was in good company so it didn’t matter

Bartender has an attitude. I’ll find another place to watch the game.
About a month ago, I had a simple misunderstanding on the price of a drink (because the music was so loud I couldn't hear anything) and the bartender thought I was being coy. He got weirdly defensive, even as I tried to explain. Bad vibes, save your money.
I went to this bar for my very first time and my experience wasn’t very pleasant l wasn’t excepted because of my race …….. a male bartender was blatantly disrespectful and rude to me please stay away from this place if you are a African American person……..My money was taken without a refund for a drink l never touched or drank….. l explained to the male bartender that it wasn’t made correctly and if l could please order another drink he refused service to me and kept my money l have never experienced anything like this in my life …….. this is not a decent place l wouldn’t recommend it
I really liked this place until my most recent visit. In the past, the late-night bartenders have been engaging, friendly, and made us feel welcome. That completely changed when we encountered Cece. From the moment my sister-in-law and I walked in, there was no greeting, no engagement, and no hospitality. The very first thing Cece said to my sister-in-law was to tell her to remove her hoodie and glasses. I explained that her glasses were prescription transition lenses that change with lighting, Cece acknowledge the prescription but dismissed that explanation and claimed it was for “security.” Within just a few minutes of us arriving, she was already treating us like a concern. The only clear difference between us and everyone else seated at the bar was our skin color. No other guests were questioned or scrutinized the way we were. The experience felt like blatant racial profiling, and it was incredibly uncomfortable and disappointing. We left and went to Nu-Rays on the next block, where the contrast was immediate, warm, welcoming, and respectful. When we mentioned what happened, the bartender and other local guests even commented that Cece is known for profiling guests, which made the experience even more upsetting. It’s sad and unacceptable that behavior like this is tolerated. I sincerely hope ownership and management address this issue, because no customer should feel targeted or unwelcome based on the color of their skin.
NO! $9 for a Negro Modelo Tap??? 2 beers = $20 w/tip. Maybe I’m in the City at a cool trendy bar. Nope, I’m in Martinez being served by “Miss Indifferent” and being Overcharged at what is supposed to be a Dive Bar. Should have gone to NuRay…..even at Troy the draft was $7 and that’s a nice restaurant. Too many other places to go - not going back - 12/20/25 Saturday Nite
Staff will verbally assault you after one drink and then cut you off if you say anything. Literally the worst possible place you could drink. Worst bar I’ve ever drank in 27 years of going out.
First time here very bad experience they are racist. If you’re not white, you cannot go here I got kicked out for no reason. The lady at the bar said it’s mandatory to leave a TIP you have to earn a tip. It is not mandatory and it is not legal. Ridiculous I will definitely not go here and not recommend this to anybody. They expect you to leave a tip or they kick you out. I will file a complaint against the business. I was reading through the reviews and I’m not the only one that got kicked out. A tip is optional!!!!!!!!!
Bartenders here are hit or miss. You can't order a "tall" mixed drink here (i.e. more mixer in a taller glass), you'll get corrected that it's a "[drink] and [mixer] in a pint glass." I find that confusing, but whatever. Then if/when you get a different bartender and try to order it the way they want you to order it, they cut you off because they "can't understand what you're ordering." They think you want a "pint" of alcohol. I assume she didn't hear me say "coke" and, like an idiot, thought I was asking for a pint of rum. Then she decided to be coy and rude about it: "you can go down to the store and buy a bottle." I was so incredibly confused, I actually thought she was messing with me. Then I realized she wasn't when she told me to get out. It all makes me so angry. I've never been to a dive bar that didn't know what "rum and coke, tall" meant. Amateurs and old white women on power trips. For what it's worth, the rude bartender was an older lady with brown hair and painted on eyebrows. Try to get someone else if you can, or better yet, spend your money elsewhere.
morning. I wanted to make it known that last night I was at Whiskey lane as a designated driver for my wife & sister. Upon walking into the establishment I stumbled a little bit due to a physical disability & temporarily lost my balance. The bouncer approached me & said I had to leave due to being intoxicated. I explained to him that I have not consumed alcohol in over 4yrs & was only there to be a designated driver. I attempted to explain my physical disability with no concern as they continued to intsruct myself to leave the establishment. Discrimination at its finest 👌 Have a great day.
