North Bar and Grill Napa Reviews
1st time in. Came for a cocktail, as we're going on to another spot for dinner. Will definitely be back to try the chef's faves. Nice spot for sure. NO karaoke. 🙏🏿🙏🏼🙏
We got here about 4pm and it wasn't busy, service was very good , things slowed down after 5 when it started getting busy but still OK. My wife and I split the North burger and it was very good. We also split the carrot cake and it was good.
I love their Happy Hour from 3-6pm M-F. Friendly staff and welcoming environment.
Had the Steamed little neck clams and the Marinated skirt steak. The clams were great and the sauce was so delicious! Had to order extra bread just to soak up the deliciousness! Skirt steak was cooked to perfection and the potatoes were flavorful with a bit of spice. Service was fast and the place was full. Will definitely visit again when in town!
North is such a treasure in this part of Napa. I love the cozy vibe of the small space and the beautiful bar. Speaking of the bar, Liz is wonderful!! I'll sit at the bar just to spend more time with her (sorry, is that weird?). She's so warm and welcoming and makes a hell of a cocktail. Love it here!
I love North. The food is fantastic. High-end restaurant quality (swear!). Drinks are stiff and good. Staff is friendly. And many nights, there is LIVE MUSIC! We tend to go here more in the winter b/c there isn't an outside area. Overall, a great place for locals!
Great local place that is hidden in plain sight! We had the clams, prawns and empanadas and they were all great to share. Our server Reba was awesome and overall just a great experience! We'll go back for sure!
New Sheriff in Town! Try it. Great Happy Hour!! Great prices with quality food. Have been in the Hospitality Biz for over 50 years. Great start for a new place!! Great decor and well. As I said before "Try It"!!!! You won't be disappointed!!
Thank you Reeba for getting our group set up- you ROCK! Your kindness, efficiency, and incredible hospitality was great! If you're in town, stop by for an amazing happy hour - don't sleep on the chicken meatballs or the brussell sprouts!
Wow! We just discovered this new neighborhood place in the shopping center where Genova Deli is on Trancas. It's about time they had a place in the 'hood where we don't have to deal with downtown parking. Reasonable prices and good portions for being "tapas". We love great veggie dishes and you could feast on those alone here - grilled brussels sprouts, hericot verts, asiago potatoes, great pear salad - all fresh. We had the skirt steak with chimichuri - delicious. And the Queen of the Valley cocktail with Limoncello & Lavender syrup - EXCELLENT, and I don't even drink hard liquor! They even have good music on, not too obtrusive, some cool oldies. Comfie seating and very nice neighborhood vibe. And, being a foodie, I appreciate them giving each table their OWN pepper grinder and you dont have to ask for one. We'll be BACK every weekend!! And they're open to 10pm!
Liz, who served me and my party was THE BEST! She made us feel welcome and helped make an amazing experience. I will definitely be going back again. Thanks, Liz!!
Good food, great service. Will try their happy hour
I like this place because it’s nice enough to be downtown but its in a location that’s a little hidden away for us locals. Service and food have been great both times Ive been.

Arguably the best bar in Napa, certainly the best in north Napa. With quality cocktails, good food, serious service, North outperforms the norm.

Place is small & cute. Ambience is great. Service & prices were decent. Cocktails are a 8/10 - creative names!!! Food was tasty!
Mostly known as your friendly neighborhood bar, this place offers a nice selection of delicious food, while you are enjoying drinks with friends.
Live music is always a nice addition. I had the burger. It is messy, which is a good sign of a good burger. However, I'm not into real salty food, but I have tasted a better flavored burger. The cocktails are beautiful. The drink is called "no way Rose" is garnished with fresh rose petals and candied raspberries. Very sweet.

Love the atmosphere of this place and the server was nice, but the oysters on the half shell were very bland even with citrus and warm ( not served over ice ) and we ask for a med rare filet mingon but it came out well done. We didn't want to wait for another so we ended up just eating it, but I bet it would have been way better med rare. Would love to come back and try the food again because maybe it was just an off night, but besides that the restaurant was comfy and affordable.
We went in for the 1st time ever, for Taco Tuesday & were very disappointed. Taco Truck is the only beer on special for $5, but like many mediocre beers it was tasty for less than 1 beer, the 2nd was progressively tasting worse the more I drank it so I didn't even finish it. All the beers ($7-$9) ought to be discounted like many restaurants offer. The street tacos were fair but not worth $5 for two. The fish tacos and carnitas nachos were extremely bland, not what you expect with Mexican food! The Curry almonds were moist & soft, zero crunch associated with nuts, we sent them back, fortunately removed from the check. The ala carte add ons are many & bland as well, plus tiny i.e. pico de gallo, guacamole, cilantro & onion. I noted that Monday's burger 🍔 night you pay extra for each & every "add on" even lettuce 🥬 is an upcharge. It reminded me of a budget airline where everything is considered an extra. It's a very strange type of marketing, one I've never come across. We both really wanted to like it& were hoping to find a new spot, especially for happy hour but it's doubtful we'll return. We're easily pleased but also know when it's sub par. Our waitress was attentive & pleasant, no complaints there! Happy hour was created to bring people in during the slow time of day, but the restaurant needs to show appreciation by giving the midday customers delicious food reflecting reasonable choices and decent discounts for dining at "odd times" The place was packed & everyone seemed satisfied but then if something is popular, it doesn't mean that it's good. I typically don't post negative reviews but this one unfortunately is well deserved. The owners need to determine what's going on with their kitchen staff! I cooked in Aspen for 5 years, then in the front of the house for 10, so my experience adds credibility to my opinions. Don't shoot the messenger, I'm being honest here!
Third time here, it's pretty mediocre. Not bad, not great, three star. Stale bread, disinterested service. Disappointing overall. Can't remember the last time we left only 15% tip at a restaurant. We dine out often, this is definitely not a five star dining experience. When was the last time your server dropped off the check and left, not saying anything? Gots to try a little harder.

They pre schuck the oyster meat, comingle it in a container, and replace the meat into the shell when people order. Disgusting
