I don't usually do reviews but this cute little restaurant deserves it, please order the cachapa, arepa and tequeños, and you must try the green garlic sauce, they totally captured the essence of delicious Venezuelan food.

There’s a reason why Venezuelans love Classic Arepas! My husband and I make special trips to the neighborhood just to pop in here and get a taste of home. 10/10

I ordered food for delivery for Christmas and they managed to take care of me very nicely. Loved most of the food. Cahapas, empanadas and de pan de jamon. The Christmas dinner plates, i felt they lacked a bit the Venezuelan flavor as well as the arepas and the ensalada de gallina. Also, the lomo negro amd perfil were not tender. But overall it was great!. Highly recommend it.

Let me start off by saying I have had Venezuelan food in Miami, Houston, other places in New York but THIS PLACE is just WOW. From the Reyna pepiada to the pabellon and today having tried their HALLACA (mouth begins to water) it’s all been just so amazing. So happy I found this place, only downside is I’m up in midtown wish they were closer… thank god for uber eats bc me and my partner are addicted :)

Keep this restaurant in mind when planning meals out. The taste benefits from immediate serving. Their staff maintains efficiency without sacrificing manners. We found this to be an economical choice. Every part of my visit was pleasant.

Best arepas I've ever had, the vegetation arepas had such an incredible flavor combination, and the sauce added the perfect touch.

I keep finding reasons to eat at this restaurant. The chef's visual skills exceed their seasoning judgment. The waiter greeted us and asked if were ready - typical start of to any dine in restaurant. This restaurant offers a special environment. This restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere.

Fresh ingredients don't have to cost extra, as this place proves. I've had consistent success dining here. Employees: outstanding. Thorough and skilled. The dinner included multiple courses, with each better than the last. Savor the culinary journey!

Tried Classic Arepas with my wife and daughter and we were all impressed. The shredded beef empanada was perfectly crisp on the outside and packed with tender, flavorful meat inside. We also had the Pecaña arepa, which was rich, juicy, and satisfying. The arepa itself had that perfect golden crust with a soft center, and the meat was cooked just right.

I ate a really god arepa here - the arepa picanha. It was moist, fresh and full of flavours. The staff was helpful and I really recommend this place to anyone who wants a good arepa!

If you haven’t tried Classic Arepa in NYC, you’re seriously missing out. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth, the aroma of freshly made arepas, and the kind of energy that makes you feel right at home. The arepas? Next-level. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside — each bite packed with flavor and authenticity. I had the Reina Pepiada and the Pabellón, and both were absolutely phenomenal. The shredded beef was tender and juicy, the avocado chicken salad was fresh and creamy, and the plantains? Sweet perfection. Portions are generous, pricing is fair, and you can tell everything is made with love and pride in Venezuelan tradition. To top it off, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, happy to explain the menu or recommend favorites. Whether you’re Venezuelan or just curious about Latin cuisine, Classic Arepa is a must-visit. I’ll absolutely be back — and bringing friends. 🔥 #ClassicArepaNYC #VenezuelanFood #ArepaHeaven #NYCFoodie #HiddenGems

This guys brings a true taste of Venezuela to Manhattan.... Their arepas and Empanadas are fresh and flavorful. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make a cool visit. Don’t miss la Catira con Frescolita — it’s a standout

Classic Venezuelan food that feels like home. The empanadas and arepas are amazing and truly authentic. I wouldn’t recommend the tequeños, but the salsa and papelón make up for it perfectly. Approved by a Venezuelan! Bonus points for being dog-friendly—it's always great to bring my pup along without any hassle.

These arepas were really very delicious. Everything was made fresh and they have a good variety of options. My only caveat is that there was a bit of a wait (>10 mins) and it was definitely on the pricier side. Make sure to get the green sauce that comes with the arepas!

I have been ordering from this place for months. As Venezuelan, this place keeps a part of me still alive as culture and food are an important part of who I am. The food is as close as it can be as to being back home in Venezuela, the arepas, the Pabellón Criollo, I just can’t get enough of it. Today I decided to stop by on side and check out the vibe, and found myself with a cute, cozy atmosphere with GUACO playing. Felt right at home. Keep up the good work guys

Got a quick take out and arepa was very, very yummy, as was the fried yam starter. Daughter was less excited by her Caesar salad, and it wasn’t cheap, but definitely a really delicious find - and v convenient for Washington square.

This gem of Venezuelan flavors is an amazing new addition to the west village. I have been here 3 times since discovering this wonderful jewel with the kindest owners and staff to welcome you. I ordered something different every time and each was as delicious as the last and wonderful to experience something new, varied and scrumptious every time! So much detail and care goes into the making of this food. The appetizing presentation of the arepas in the printed papers is delicate and refined. Service is fast, precise and warm. The setting is intimate with beautiful music and impeccable! You will love it! A must try and you will soon become a regular like myself. I am back again the following week and ordered the salmon platter that was cooked to perfection with the most delicious plantains!

Really good place for arepas. I ordered classic Reina, classic pabellón and cheese. You must try the Panela and Limon drink. And don’t forget the sweet plantains 🫶🏽

The arepas were delicious, but the price was high for such a small portion. You pay an average of $16 for an arepa, but it's half the size of any Venezuelan arepa I've ever had elsewhere. For this reason, I wouldn't return, even though the customer service was good.

While the seasoning is good and the staff is friendly and attentive, the prices are extremely high for the portion sizes served. In general, the portions feel very small for what you pay. Charging $16 for a very small portion of traditional Venezuelan-style chicken salad made with very basic ingredients feels unjustified, and the arepas are another example where the portion size doesn’t match the price

I used to love this spot so much, usually I get the same thing because it used to be the best spot to get Cachapas. Unfortunately the last two times made me take the decision of not coming back again. I always paid for the extra of grilled beef on it $7 extra (one time was like literally two pieces of meat on it) I went last night and the gave me the Cachapa, in the smallest plate ever super uncomfortable to eat because I can’t even put the fork of knife to rest on the plate. (0 common sense the people serving the food) My bf ordered an arepa and it was the same problem, the smallest plate ever. Also they changed the cachapa batter, before used to be better and you could feel the corn on it. Now it looks like any other frozen cachapa that you get in the city So disappointed, used to think it was the best spot but not anymore.
