Cook Eatery New York Reviews
Love this place! It was right next to our hotel so super convenient. We ate late breakfast/lunch here 5 out of 6 days. I had their salmon/roasted red potatoes/green beans/yams & fruit every time. Absolutely delicious!!! My husband/sons ate the bagels & smear or panini sandwiches. I’m going to miss this place soooo much!!!
My partner and I have just spent 2 weeks in NY and this was the perfect little next door shop for all food and beverage needs. There is a such a wide variety, the place is open 24/7 and the staff are quick and friendly.
The Korean owner is so kind. The egg sandwiches are perfect for Korean tastes, and the fruit is fresh and delicious. The staff are all kind and nice. There are many kinds of Korean bowl noodles, sushi, sandwiches, coffee, etc. There are many things to eat. It is open 24 hours, so it is good to use when you are hungry.
Cook Eatery on 45th Street is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere and a staff that’s genuinely friendly and attentive. The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients that truly shine through in every bite. I highly recommend the [insert dish you loved most], which was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The ambiance is cozy yet modern, making it a great spot for anything from a casual lunch to a special dinner out. Service was prompt, and the team went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of excellent. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Cook Eatery is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!
Actually this place is fantastic if you look for an affordable breakfast. They offer a great selection of nearly everything. We recommend the bagels and the fruit buffet!
We went there after the opera, and ordered the Italian on a torpedo roll with no substitutions or additions. It was the best Italian hoagie I have ever had. The hoagie was fresh made, packed full, and so yummy. While we didn't get it, the fruit on the buffet looked amazing. We can't wait to go get another hoagie when we are back in February.
How this place doesn't have all 5 star reviews is beyond me. I eat here every day when in the city. Definitely best cheap eats in Times square. They have amazingly extensive and fresh fruit, salad and sandwich bars, delicious coffee and so much more. You can easily get a great meal with drink for under $20. My highest possible recommendation for a quick bite on the go.
Great little spot for late night convenience.
This was such a great little convenient place to grab a quick bite or a snack or drink. They had fruit, sandwiches, snacks. They have a salad bar and a hot food buffet. So many beverage options. What a great little place for some grab and go stuff. Visited several times during our week visit.
Cute and convenient spot near our hotel that served great breakfast. Many options, and all at a great price. Staff was busy but remained friendly, even with rude and impatient customers. We got our food made hot and fresh right in front of us and very quickly. Will definitely be back.
I went there 2 times no problem and the bathroom was open. We went upstairs to eat. Make sure it is open.. They charge you 4% more for a credit card. BEWARE Make sure they don't overcharge you. Great prices and food was very good.
The perfect breakfast location just 3 minutes from Times Square can be found on the 45th street between 7th and 6th Avenues! Normal prices for breakfast and with the buffet also in the evening a cheap alternative! When you go, you often meet me right here between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. - and don't forget to say that you got the tip from Oli from Olidaytours!
This is the kinda place to go to if you don’t know what you want when you walk in that you could potentially walk out with a little bit of everything. I started off wanting the bimibap and ended up with a very hearty chicken sandwich. I just love the concept that you can get a deli sandwich, choose from a buffet, or even get sushi or a ramen bowl. Just do much to choose from including a refrigerator case of beverages and I loved it. Bravo!

Open for coffee and cold foods / snacks 24 hours, with a hot food bar and upstairs seating area from 6am. Perfect if staying in a nearby hotel. Reasonable prices, and all the hot sandwiches I tried were excellent, stuffed with filling and heated through. Clientele seemed to be a mix of locals, people working nearby, and tourists like me staying in nearby hotels. Friendly and convenient.
Phenomenal deli. Staff keeps it well, food is great, and the snack selection is elite. Fast, friendly service.
Omlettes are so tasty and huge. Almost for 2 people. Definitely a great place for breakfast, highly recommend
Such great selection and quality fruit and salad bar. Salmon bagel was perfect

The bagels are delicious. Very clean and great variety of snacks and food
The person claiming the owner is rude. He doesn't let customers finish talking, very snappy, makes it harder for his workers to clearly hear the order and get it right. Bagel with cream cheese is very good. Upstairs seating with plenty of tables but the emergency exit is blocked by broken chairs.
One of the few places near Times Square that is not a scam for a Nova Scotia Bagel. My order was freshly made and wrapped very securely. Perfect to eat on the go or savor. Everything tasted fresh and there was a generous portion of all the toppings. Overall, a convenient, quick and great value eatery.
They offer a wide variety of food for all meals, including beverages. However, the staff is not very courteous in treating customers. Prices are reasonable, and the place is open from 6 AM to midnight.
A quaint deli / convenience store. Polite workers. They serve food with fresh ingredients: we ordered items like breakfast burritos, pancakes and sandwiches. They have an upstairs dinner where you can sit and eat your freshly made meal.
For daily quick snack or meal really great place most of the stuff for fresh and pretty cheap. I like to get the sushi just after they make it and it’s very fresh and pretty cheap, you can find all sorts of things juices, salad, bar, fresh fruit bar, homemade food bar, snacks, cookies, pancakes, just name it Also, they have pretty big upper floor for indoor eating so if you don’t want to take it, just go up and eat
Good place to get an inexpensive breakfast if you are staying at a midtown hotel and do not want to pay $40 for breakfast. It has omelettes and eggs to order to $8

Appropriately rated 3 stars... Flavor is hard to find here even as the options are plenty, but the sandwiches are underwhelming. I like the no-frills part but they don't do breakfast well. Service is ok, this place is made for regulars, it seems, not newbies.
The star is simply based on the price! I walk buy every day and would L or to get breakfast but I’d end up spending over 120 a week. Bacon egg and cheese and a drink shouldn’t cost 12 dollars. It’s a Times Square rip off
Came to the establishment and ordered a breakfast sandwhich, order was given to me incorrectly. When I asked why it was made wrong the guy who took my order took no responsibility and told me im not the one that made it. They brushed me off and did not want to correct the mistake. $9.00 later I walk out with a breakfast sandwich that I did not want.
Severely disappointed. I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and say that I just got unlucky, but the food I got was just bad.

Sandwich makers very rough chicken spoiled chicken from 3 days very sour no recommend 👎
Terrible experience. I came here with my children, and not only was the food absolutely disgusting—greasy, flavorless, and clearly not fresh—but the man at the counter (an Asian gentleman) was extremely rude and disrespectful. He acted like we were bothering him just by ordering. This is not how customers, especially families with kids, should be treated. Avoid this place at all costs. There are so many better options around Times Square.
BE AWARE: 1) When you pay with credit card, they add a commission of 3.99% !!! Yes, again - 3.99% - like a mortgage. They have a really tiny little note announcing about it. It's so tiny no one pays attention to that. 2) Today i ordered a greek wrap, that should have contained broccolli. See the photo attached and decide for yourself (the green dots are onion...).
Guy at cash register was rude and unprofessional, he proceeded to smack my hand away, after I taped to pay . Very weird .
Absolutely horrible, please avoid! The food was so bad and stale, we asked for it to be remade and the manager started giving us a huge attitude. On top of that they overcharged us and treated us really badly, there was loud music being played by drunk people at the other table and they said nothing to them. Then the staff locked the bathroom and wouldn't let my family use it simply because we asked for the food to be remade. Never coming back here, avoid it!
Avoid at all costs!!! These people are huge scammers, the cashier overcharged me 3-4 times in a single week, and whenever I confronted them the manager tried to blame me for it! Their menu prices are literally for show only, they scam you and add nonsense charges sneakily so you don’t notice. For example, my family and I had a breakfast meal that should have costed 35 dollars, instead they charged $52. Many families In the hotel with us said the same thing, that they overcharge and scam you. On top of that, the food is HORRIBLE. It was cold and undercooked, awful service, only went here because there was no place open at the time. And also, many regular customers we saw also said the cashiers try to overcharge them multiple times, and they only come here because it’s close. Avoid. Only way to teach these people a lesson is if you don’t give them your money. You’re better off going a block over to other places, these people are rude and thieves!!!
Very awful service and food. I ordered catering for a meeting and will NEVER order again from here! Heads up to anyone looking at this place for catering orders, they do not care! They sent the order 45 minutes later than the planned time, while I was in the meeting and on top of that, the food was cold and soggy. The coffee order was wrong too and barely gave any condiments. I should have read previous reviews of this place, but hopefully this helps the next customer. This literally damaged my reputation with my boss and co workers as it looked like pure negligence. Terrible service and they clearly don’t care about their customers. I left a 100 dollar tip on a $250 order and that still wasn’t enough. Manager completely avoided me when I called and made excuses, beware of karma. Customers are what drives your business! Stay away from here!
Scammers. Went in 3 times over the course of 3 days and bought the same water bottle. I paid $2.50, $3.80, and then the final time the elderly Asian owner tried to charge me $5. I walked out. A pack of skittles is not $3.72. Went to Duane Reade a few doors down and bought my water and candy for less than $5. Extremely rude and terrible service from all the workers. The “buffet” is full of tasteless, dry food. Spent $61 and couldn’t even finish half of it. The bathroom could use a good cleaning. Upstairs dining area had 2 men drunk and passed out at 8 in the morning. Not a good look.
THIS PLACE IS AWFUL! THEY ARE SCAMMERS! Avoid this place at all costs. The staff is horrible as well. So I get the food, sit down with my family, and we find few pieces of hair in the food. I talk to the manager who just plays dumb and has a nasty attitude but agrees to give a "discount." Then when I pay, the cashier literally tries to scam me by charging me THREE times the price. According to their prices, the food should have been $35, with the discount around $20. This guy charged me 60 dollars. 60. Unbelievable, and when I asked how it's that much he didn't even explain in the slightest. When it started to attract the other customers to what was going on, the owner told the cashier to charge me 20 dollars. I really don't understand how these people run a business if they do this type of stuff. Not to mention the fact the other employee came by and then also started having a nasty attitude towards me, practically insulting me for simply asking why the price was high. I should have read the reviews because these guys have a reputation as scammers and rude, unprofessional people. Awful.
I would give 0 stars if I could. Terrible overpriced food and rude staff. The high cost of the food is really so you can sit indoors and have access to the restroom, but the restroom is closed most of the time and the upstairs is now closed half the time. They never have any signage up to tell you WHEN the upstairs is closed so it’s always an unpleasant surprise AFTER you purchase. Today we found out the upstairs was closed after we ordered when there was no barrier or anything placed in front, just a staff member standing there. I commented to my friend, “wow, I wish they’d communicated that ahead of time or I wouldn’t have eaten here,” and the staff member guarding the stairs chimed in with “I don’t care.” Save yourself the hassle and go to literally anywhere else. If you’re looking for snacks, Duane Reade is cheaper. If you want somewhere to sit, do Popeye’s, McDonalds, Chipotle, Subway… so many options that have reliable seating and reasonably priced food. I used to come here all the time between shifts at work to have some food and shelter from the cold in spite of poor quality, incorrect orders, and insane pricing for the sake of convenience. Now I will never go again. And neither should you.
Some really nasty food prep people behind the counter. Asking about some pricing for clarification on a bagel with egg salad… I asked where it’s posted on the menu. I got some snide and snippy remarks about that’s the price if I don’t like it , tough. Upstairs is a complete dump no service crew, people playing loud video games with no earbuds… Food is cheap, but the atmosphere is cheaper. UPDATE: don’t go there for any egg sandwich after… I don’t know what time… Because it’s not posted, but I went in there at 1:45 PM on a Saturday and I couldn’t get an egg sandwich.
I came in at 6:30 AM to order a sandwich, and once again, the experience was disappointing. The short staff member near the cook was extremely rude, as he often is. Every time I try to order early in the morning, they are not ready and make it feel like a burden to serve customers. The attitude is consistently unwelcoming, and it’s clear that morning service is not a priority here. Based on my experiences, I would not recommend anyone to come here early for food or expect respectful service

Bagel pub is better especially when comparing the quality of the food. This place is too expensive and doesn’t even serve good food. The cooks behind the grill don’t even know how to cook certain things the right way yet try and charge you too much money for it. Would not come back again
Disgusting manners. My grandma came here for an orange juice while she was visiting her city, The old man running the shop got mad at her for asking which orange juice was cheaper and threw a bottle of orange juice at her head. Disgusting customer service. Do not come here.
A worker was being rude while this lady was ordering. She was deciding what she wanted to drink, the man told her to pick one. The man then threw a bottle at her. She has a bruise on her face.
