I went there for an early dinner on a scorching hot NYC day and it hit all the notes. From the decor to the food and happy hour drinks, it made for a lovely afternoon. The house rose was lovely as was the pesto pasta dish with the in house made sausage. It's a restaurant that requires a repeat visit.

My girlfriend lives near by. So we go to the place all the time. Very nice and cozy. It might get a little crowed in the evening, but the staff will always find you a place to seat. The service is amazing. The food is great!

I got pasta Bolognese and a pesto pizza and thought they were both excellent. Great atmosphere as well.

The food is excellent! Don't be deterred if it seems like it's a little noisy on a weekend. When I went, they sat us in the dining area and away from the bar. Yes I could still hear my conversation without an issue. FYI their pasta is homemade!!

Amazing place for brunch. I went almost a year ago and their bottomless is amazing and comes with an entree! Wasn’t too busy and plenty of places to sit. Walked by last night for the dinner crew and it was busy and looked very fun. Definitely recommend!

Delicious pizza, and great service! I've been here a few times and the pizza has been great every time. My favorite so far is the Pesto pizza, which has an excellent flavor profile, isn't too cheesy or saucy, and had a nice crust. I'd say all the pizzas I've had here have great crusts, it's one of the few pizza places where I actually eat the whole crust. The service has been great every time I've been there, and our waiters have been friendly and attentive. I'll try and take photos of the food next time, before scarfing it down...

Wonderful dining experience last night. Everything was delicious, two stand outs were the ribs (dry rub, but holy smokes-- falling off the bone, we might come back to the city JUST for these) and the apple Carmel bread pudding. Great service and wonderful atmosphere!

Fabulous brunch food- omelet with mushrooms and ricotta, lemon pancakes with ricotta and maple syrup. Nice seating outdoors on a beautiful fall day and friendly, patient service from Matthew and Erica. An altogether lovely experience. We'll be back!

Everything about our meal was outstanding, from the Brussels sprouts to the Burrata, to the polenta, ten out of ten…BUT Junior made our whole night. He was so charming, even when busy. He recommended dishes for us that we loved, new beer we hadn’t tried, desserts that knocked our socks off. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you Junior!

My first meal out with Liz and it was special. It's right on the corner from the apt. We ate at the bar. The food is just superb. Liz had the wood fired chicken which was obscenely good. I had a steak so tender it melted in your mouth. Truly one of the best meals I've ever had in NY. Apparently the pizza is also something that has to be experienced. Next time! Staff were amazing, smiling and so attentive. Everything was washed down with a fine bottle of Cote du Rhone. Not to be forgotten.

My husband and I randomly came upon this restaurant. We were so lucky they had a table available . The salmon( medium well) and the chicken and salads were amazing . The rose sine was also very good . I rarely write a review but after a long hard day we were blessed with such a delicious meal. The waitress PimI hope o spelt her name right ) Was delightful . It really makes for a wonderful meal when the food and waitress were great .

Great neighborhood brunch spot. They’ve got the classic 2hr “unlimited” NYC brunch. Since they wrap around the corner there is plenty of outdoor seating. The sidewalk tables have heaters on the building the the street structure tables have heaters in the ceiling. Great place for a lazy Sunday. They do tend to fill up so make a reservation or arrive early.

Absolutely BUSSIN!!! 😋😋😋😋Only bad thing is that sometimes you have to get the waiter yourself after s/he/they gives you dessert menu which is annoying. This one time it took them forever to get back to my table and it took forever to get my sorbet 😡😡😡 But it’s all good because it was fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥

This cosy spot in the Gramercy area is surprisingly well decorated with hanging bulbs and wooden decor. A large bar is surrounded by many tables that can accommodate large groups. The service is friendly and more humble than most places in Manhattan. I'd definitely recommend the Montepulciano D'Abruzzo to kick things off with some crostinis. The salads are somewhat unimpressive but the pesto pizza is fantastic. Expect to pay 40 dollars a head with a drink.

Such a cozy spot! The warm, intimate vibe is perfect for couples or a relaxed night out. The pesto pasta? Absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. Everything exceeded my expectations, from the service to the ambiance. Can’t wait to go back!

We looked at this place to make a reservation for my sisters graduation. The food looked good and had a lot good reviews. We were excited to dine here because half of my family just arrived from San Francisco, California to attend my sister graduation ceremony. The food itself was delicious but the service was lackluster. When we sat down, The waitress Heather O gave us attitude and did not seem pleased to serve us. As an example, we had a guest who is lactose intolerant and wanted to ask about dairy products in certain dishes, and the waitress said, "I'm not asking you, I'm telling you" in a rude manner. Furthermore, certain guests did not want to order appetizers and wanted to order their main dish. She seemed displeased with our orders and annoyed when we asked her questions about the menu. It made the entire dining experience disappointing. The bussers often came to our table and removed our dishes, asked us if our food was to our satisfaction and even prompted a conversation with our table. The waitress barely made her presence known. The graduate herself was excited to celebrate her amazing accomplishment and when we left the restaurant, she felt saddened and disappointed. I only give it 5 stars because the food was delicious.

Had a great experience here last night. Hosted a small gathering (8 ppl) and Our server Nelly was great about the whole thing. Wine menu is the perfect size, well rounded yet not too elaborate. My friend and I spontaneously stopped in Follia after a day out in the city, and we could not have chosen a better spot to eat at! We will definitively make a return!

Cute spot! I think the atmosphere is total win- super cozy, romantic, bougie. Ordered the arugula salad, calamari, branzino (me), and cacio e pepe (friend). Servers were very warm, helpful and kind even though it was close to closing. Some of the prices are high and I wouldn’t reorder those items necessarily, unless they were jazzed up a little (salad- it was good, but I did expect more). Also, pricey glass of grigio that wasn’t very great. But ultimately, a nice spot and will be back to try more. I wish they were open later!

We came here for Happy Hour on 10/9/19. We weren't going to eat too much but we ended up ordering and ordering... Oysters were very good, fried olives were great, Pasta was very nice and would like to see a larger portion. The service was great and it was a cool place with a nice vibe. I hope to get back over there... certainly worth going.

We had a lovely dinner at Follia. The bread was heavenly. Our server was attentive. The mushroom pasta was scrumptious, so fresh and tasty. We polished everything off with not a scrap to take home. Our daughter loves this place and comes often so she wanted to introduce us to it. Excellent!

I recently had a large reservation (~15 people) at Follia, and it thoroughly exceeded all expectations. The private dining room is stunning: It has a beautiful ambiance, perfect size to allow for mingling while comfortably seating 15, and had a rustic, cozy vibe. The service was also wonderful: Our waiter was very attentive, but never hovering or overbearing. The meal was paced perfectly from drinks through dessert. And the food, truly blew away expectations. Between the starters of assorted pizzas and salad, the four entree dishes, or the desserts, everything was prepared and tasted wonderful. I can't recommend Follia enough for a large dinner reservation (or even a casual dinner) -- everything was a 10/10

Went to Follia for brunch and had a great time! We got there pretty early at 11:30, so it was relatively empty but when we left around 2 it had gotten loud and busy. There’s a prix fixe option, $22 for an entree + coffee + cocktail. We added $8 for the 2hr bottomless drinks. Food was solid, I had a funghi nuovo breakfast pizza with some really wonderful mozzarella and a great chewy crust. Drinks were standard but the service was great - any time my glass was empty it was seconds later that someone came by asking if I wanted another. They also let you switch around the drinks, so you can start with a Bloody Mary and move to Bellinis or whatever is your preference. Vibe is cozy. Def recommend for reasonably priced p good Italian food and great service.

We had a panic when we had a last minute dinner for family and friends during the holidays. We needed a place for 15 people with only 2 days notice that had a varied enough menu to please everyone. Follia delivered spectacularly. The food outstanding and quite yummy. There was enough variety that everyone in our big party were satisfied. The meatballs, the mushroom pizza and calamari were all standouts. We ordered them 3 or 4 times throughout the night. Our servers were all super helpful, friendly and Accommodating of our every need. It was a fun evening with many different parties and we very much enjoyed our evening. We highly recommend and we’ll be back.

I don't get the opportunity to fine dine out very often, so when I do, I really appreciate it when everything is beyond expectations. My evening at Follia was well beyond my expectations. A high school buddy was in town for a memorial, so it was good opportunity to catch up over dinner. We were warmly greeted by our host and directed to our table. Our server, Angelique, was so gregarious and personable with us. We started with a couple of cocktails while we looked at the menu. I had forgotten my glasses but our server came to my rescue and vividly explained each dish I asked about and we went with her recommendations on all of our courses . She was absolutely correct on everything. We really loved the tuna tartare and risotto for the table. Plus the Branzino and wine pairing I had was outstanding. Everything was top notch, the food, the ambience, and especially the service. For example, when I inquired about the location of the restroom, I was escorted almost all the way there. I can't wait until another excuse to go back there again with more friends and family along.

@follianyc is a classic italian restaurant located in east village. They also have a bottomless brunch deal that includes 1 entrée and unlimited brunch cocktails for 90 minutes ($32). Aside from bottomless brunch, we noticed that the prices of each of the food items were cheaper compared to many places in the city! ft: -brioche french toast: this was our favorite! it had the best fluffy texture, and the bananas on top were a great match. delicious. -eggs benedict: eggs were runny and the english muffin was toasted correctly. i loved it! -cobb salad: the first thing i noticed is that the dressing added the perfect amount of extra flavor and didn't go overboard. i loved the combination of ingredients in the salad. -crostini: came with 3: 1) burrata, olive oil and salt 2) whipped ricotta pesto 3)mascarpone and clover honey. each were slightly different from each other, and all tasted amazingly. i definitely liked the mascarpone and clover honey. it's such a simply dish yet so delicious. 📍Follia 179 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10003 follow @rebeccatakesnyc for more nyc content!

Ambiance: We sat outside, so we didn't get to enjoy the inside which looked quite cozy but chique. Food: Ordered a couple dinner special items - fig salad and butternut squash soup. Both were delicious. One of the better soups and salads I've had. I'd ask for just a slight less dressing, but it was still very good! We shared the pappardelle pasta, which tasted ok to me but my friend really liked it. I'm not a huge fan of pork, so I may be biased in my opinion here. The sauce was a bit runny, but the braised pork was juicy and we'll seasoned. We ordered the tiramisu, which was ok, not the best I've had, but it's good. Service: The first waitress was really good. She left at some point and the second waitress service was not good at all. We actually had to get up several times to go get her to ask for things, like a dessert menu, the coffee/drink menu, utensils for the dessert, etc. This could've been a one off.

We went on a Thursday night at 8, we were seated quickly, and the atmosphere was really enjoyable. Service was super prompt and friendly. The wine and the food both came fast, which was great. The food itself was good but nothing really extraordinary. I had the pappardelle while my friend had a mozzarella prosciutto pizza. Overall, it's a good neighborhood staple. If you're looking for outstanding Italian in the city, I'd go elsewhere, but it's still an enjoyable place. I'd probably give it a shot for brunch.

I have had two of their pizzas both were delicious. They use fresh ingredients and you can taste it. The restaurant has a very nice interior which has been very nicely decorated. Good for parties of all sizes. There are stairs to enter however an ADA entrance also appears to be available. The establishment is very clean and the staff is knowledgable. Serving lunch and dinner. They also have a very nice looking bar.

M

I absolutely love Follia. The food is fantastic, the staff is great, and the atmosphere is delightful. However, I have one nit to pick. Whenever I order pizza delivery, my pies invariably arrive smushed. Clearly the boxes get turned sideways somewhere along the way, causing everything to slide down to one end. There is no parchment to reduce the sliding, ether. So my pizzas arrive looking like calzones. This must be correctable, and it should be corrected. Of course, if you're dining in, this is not an issue. And it's hard to think of another restaurant in the area that I enjoy more.

K
Katerina Noskova

Cute local place for decent Italian food. I don’t think I was overly impressed the first time I came here. But a few days ago my husband and I had dinner outside and it was a quite pleasant experience. I had a special pasta dish with lamb ragout and leeks and really enjoyed it. Just wish the portion was a little bigger. My husband’s pasta was ok, but he is Italian and we are kind of food snobs) we liked the rice balls appetizer and camponatta ( I’m sure I misspelled it). Apple bread pudding for dessert was tasty. My only disappointment was a cocktail my husband got while waiting for a table. Like it could be ok somewhere else, but you can’t make this quality cocktails in NY. Basil margarita 👎👎 And they should put a little more pasta on a plate, I was hungry an hour later.

I’ve been coming to Folia for 6 years now and have celebrated two birthdays here. I’ve recommended it to so many friends and family over the years because I absolutely love the food and atmosphere. However, I visited yesterday and was disappointed to find that the food was not at the usual standard I’ve come to expect. The brunch pizzas and burgers have always been my favorites, but this time, the pizza was watery and undercooked, definitely not like the delicious brick oven pizza Folia is known for. The salad was also underwhelming, consisting mostly of leaves with some dressing and just a couple of croutons. Overall, the food felt rushed, which was disappointing. That said, the service was still amazing as always, our server was attentive, and everything arrived quickly. Unfortunately, I couldn’t fully enjoy the bottomless mimosas because the food didn’t live up to my expectations. I’ll definitely return because I’ve loved this place for years, but as a long-time loyal customer, I hope Folia takes this feedback into consideration!

A classic Italian comfort food diner. They distinguished the menu between lunch and dinner so they weren’t serving their dinner dishes at lunch. The spaghetti wasn’t particularly unique or striking, but it was satisfying. The best part was how amicable everyone was.

Bottomless brunch here was fun, the personal pizzas were especially tasty!! They might benefit from a bit more variety with the bottomless drink options - when we went, offerings were limited to mimosas, bellinis, and bloody marys. The 90-minute time limit starts when you order the first round of drinks. But honestly you can't get better in NYC for the price! Service was prompt, bathrooms were clean, and they accommodate large parties. To my surprise, they managed to make avocado toast into a whole meal since it came with 2 eggs and a side salad. And by the way, the truffle fries were AHmazing!! Overall a good location and experience!

Emma Nelson

Pretty great brunch spot! The food was spectacular, especially the Hanger Steak, the Prosciutto pizza, and the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes! The only reason this isn’t 5 stars is because it was super super hot inside the restaurant and there were just a few times when our bottomless took a while to refill, but it was a busy Sunday morning so that’s understandable. Our waiter was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu!

Great pizza and absolutely delicious food, but we were told it would be a 15 minute wait and it was closer to an hour. We also ordered a bottle of wine that tasted kind of sour, so we sent it back and found out a whole crate had been thrown out earlier that day.

Pizza was out of this world. Wine was way too warm for a place calling itself an enoteca. Had to put on ice bucket and only last sip was ok. Service was good but poor staff way too busy. Espresso was ok but not outstanding. Oh and place was really loud.

Went for a farewell lunch. Ambiance was great. Service was great. Ordered the mussels lunch special. It was bland as in, it was not seasoned enough although they were cooked properly. Not chewy. I would go back again to try other items on the menu though.

Went for a private event. Service and atmosphere were amazing most dishes were great but one of the pastas I didn’t enjoy.

The restaurant has a cozy feel. My husband enjoyed the mushroom pizza but the pomodoro and shrimp pasta dishes were mediocre. The ingredients weren’t high quality and the dishes were over salted and lacked flavor and herbs. I have lived in Italy so I have a higher standard for pasta. The service was lacking in some respects- part of our order was forgotten and we weren’t offered fresh pepper and Parmesan, and no one asked is if we wanted a second round of drinks.

Location is fine. Service good. My daughter loves the place and they have a few good tastes. Pizza is not special; 99 cents pizza has tastier selections. There are so many other good Italian restaurants, there just isn't a reason to eat here unless you live within walking distance.

Sad to have to update my original review (5 stars), and I don't do so lightly. But over the past several months - talking at least 5 or 6 visits - the food has really gone downhill. Not a good sign when the food comes up more quickly than it would at a McDonald's but that's what's been my experience. Sure enough, the food isn't fresh anymore and is often just plain bad. Really disappointing. Kept hoping it was just a bad night but nope - consistently mediocre or even bad food. Even the formerly delicious pastas taste reheated now. Follia was one of my neighborhood favorites but now I'll only go there for the wine - still very fairly priced and well chosen. The service is still terrific, too. But c'mon, Follia: Please do better.

Came for a dinner and the staff was friendly and fairly quick. The food was mediocre. The ambient was cozy and the food presentation good.

The food is SO GOOD. But the service consistently is terrible. Management needs to train and MANAGE the restaurant better. I keep coming back over and over because the pizza and the cacio de pepe and the spaghetti del Follia is so very good, but I know now to wait 10 minutes for a server to come to me, then I have to ask, then to order everything all at once because that is the last time I will see them again. Even at the bar. It really just hurts them. I would keep ordering more if I was checked in on more frequently.

Nice space. Very overpriced for the quality and portions. Paid an outrageous amount for some ridiculously thin shaved and meagre looking salami. I mean, just give us a decent amount eh? The pizzas were good, again just felt like we were paying too much for what it was. Won't be back

My boyfriend got THE WORST food poisoning ever from the spaghetti bolognese. If it wasn’t for how nice everyone was and how good some of the food was I’d rate it a 1. But he has been non stop vomiting the second we finished eating and had to call out of work the next day so we will not be coming back!

The margarita pizza was so bland. I added so much salt and it still was hard to eat. Cacio e Pepe tasted like they added a full stick of butter. Couldn’t even finish it. Waste of $19. My belly hurts. Don’t go here.

Very ordinary. The food was very plain and the drinks below average. But the service was terrible. We waited extend periods and had four different servers. Can recommend nor will we be back. NYC has to many other options to suffer through this a second time for the amount charged.

cool spot, good food, good happy hour... but 2 stars because the entire bar area is fully with the worst bar stool seats in NYC. your stools are awful. The seat is small and uncomfortable from the first minute you sit down. Also there is no good bar on them to put your foot so it's like dangling or you knee is up in your chest. Fkin terrible. Pizza was good, beers good... I just wouldn't bring people back to sit in the big bar area.

Follia had a decent food choices and drink. The food taste pretty good and they have a nice cozy ambiance. The experience was ruined by the server who wasn't attentive at all. It took him so long to come by to my table. If not because of the busser, he probably won't realize that I need help. He also left halfway through my order assuming that I'm done ordering instead of making sure. Overall, aside from the service, everything was good.

Our recent visit to Follia was very underwhelming due to a series of service missteps that detracted from the dining experience. Shortly after receiving our drinks, our server inquired if we needed anything else? Usually a server talks about the menu or least goes over the specials. When I asked what the specials are she had to go in and see as she didn’t know herself. The situation worsened when a busboy who was in a rush, dropped a water bottle, causing ice to scatter across our table; then left the mess unattended and did not return. Throughout the meal, our server was notably absent—never checked in after appetizers or main courses were delivered, or to see if we needed anything. When we sought assistance from the busboy, who indicated that we needed to locate our server ourselves. Eventually, I went around inside to find her, only to discover she was eating and would be right with us momentarily. The lack of attentiveness and hospitality was disappointing and left us feeling we were a burden.

This used to be a great pace to have happy he and dinner. They have skimped down on everything. The pasta dinners are boring and the Happy Hour Cocktails are nil along with the food cut in half. Poor waitress had no help and we waited 1/2 an hour for a drink. Last time I will ever go back. Must be new owners!

Pretty sure my credit card got skimmed here, had one (1) glass of wine and paparadelle that tasted like chef boyardee out the can and it was $50. My server was nice though and it is cute overall.

After 5 minutes upon arriving at around 5 on Saturday afternoon or server took our order and abandoned us leaving a glorified busboy to take over. My date was served a $14 Negroni in a brandy snifter. They advertise a burrata on the menu and we were expecting a piece of cheese and what we got was some kind of cheese spread on a crostini. Very disappointing. No one came to check on us ask us how the food was or if we wanted wine or anything else. I ordered the spaghetti with clams and it was completely a bland and tasteless I've had better food at Spaghetti Warehouse. All in all it was a really lousy experience and it ruined my dates birthday. When we ask to speak to the manager the woman that was hosting came over and listened to our complaints she just nodded her head and took a few items off the bill. It was the first time ever I stiffed a waiter I left $0 for a tip. Because that was equal to the service that we got. Don't go here I do not recommend it this place sucks.

God. What a shame. Black duct tape on the entrance door really set the tone for a horrible evening. Depressing salad portion with no dressing. Oily pasta. Horribly awkward service from what seemed to be a consistent stream of untrained young adults. Nail in the coffin was witnessing commit a MAJOR doh violation while using the rest room. Would pay not to come back
