Bojax Kitchen Oakland Reviews
We were passing by from San Francisco to LA. We stopped at another like chinese restaurant accross the street and they were very rude and unfriendly. Asked a nice lady if there qas any where else to eat. She pointed across the street. We went and THEY WERE SO FRINDLY. Very small place therefore, one table that was being used saw us 3 and offered the table while they were still eating. We accepted and they went to a smaller table. Every body was very nice and friendly. Wish we can come back but, it’s kind of far. Still, FOOD WAS VERY GOOD. Tuna sandwhich, big cheese burger, home made potatoes, hot chocolate, yummy…
SO SO SOOOOOO GOOD. Fast service too! this is the smothered oxtail plate

Amazing food! Black Owned!! Fast great portioning's owner is very fair. Recommend this spot to everyone!! Try the Po-Boys... The Chili and the Fried Catfish
This is about the only place I can find in Oakland that serves chicken and waffles before 11AM, and apparently it's run by ambitious, good-hearted, young Black professionals too. I appreciate that.
Them Ox Tails is to Die For That rice and gravy Greens and Candy Yams Are So Good I'm going Once Week for the Ox tails forsure
I took my husband there for his 74th birthday, Someone mentioned they had good soul food which it’s hard to find in the Bay Area and we were very satisfied small place homie ,nothing’s wrong with that. We were the only ones there but what count is the food reasonably priced and the smothered pork chops greens yams, , red beans, cornbread was all good. That was Sunday. I’m trying to get a meal today and I cook myself. He also let me try the grits and they were off the hook better than any grits I’ve ever had, Better than mine
Super nice owner and staff. Southern soul food breakfast, lunch, and dinner served all day. Best oxtails, hands-down! The chef is from New Orleans and the food is authentic - I'm coming back to try everything on the menu! 👍🏽
Owner operator is running a respectable restaurant with a diverse menu! Soul food,American ,any food interest is covered, even vegetarian items available. Dining experience inside and in the patio are quaint and tidy. I recommend this establishment! Keep up the positive influence in the neighborhood! 🫡

We stopped by for lunch during a road trip. Had mixed feelings when I read the reviews. I must say I have to question the one star reviews. The food was actually good. I had the oxtail which were really tasty along with the greens and Mac. I would definitely come back.

Best food is always found in that part of town, but it's worth the trip! Bojax didn't disappoint on the Oxtails plate. Will be back again, thanks Oakland 😃
Good food but don't always answer their phone. When open I have never had a bad meal.

These are very nice men that run this place. I ordered salmon croquettes, grits and eggs. I was surprised to not get toast with my breakfast, but I told myself that I didn’t need it anyway. The food was delicious but the croquettes were kinda cold in the middle. I ate it anyway. I ordered a salad to go but some of the baby spinach leaves look old and wilted and some wet. I would never serve anyone that for $8 and I ate the tomatoes and cucumbers and threw the rest away. Oh well, lesson learned. I would still encourage others to support this business.
oxtails were great, greans was good, no regular cornbread, and the macaroni was just ok rice and gravey was pretty good. price was a little high, French toast was good but i don't know if i want to pay $6 in the hood in a togo box. i am glad they are there and i will try something else also.

This is a new place, and I really wanted to like it. I called in to order, and theirbwas a little delay in ordering because the perdon taking order command of comprehension wasn't the veat. They said 20 minutes. I got there an hour later and they couldn't find the order. But first, the young ladybat the counter was doing something in her phone and didn't look up. I waited because I knew she saw me. I finally cleared my throat. She looked up and I gave my name. They couldn't find my order. There were no other customers. A man came over and I told him what I ordered. He picked up a bag that had two orders, and I said I had just one order. He took one out of the bag and said, "This must be it. They seemed disorganized. I ordered oxtails. They were covered in a lighter gravy. I like oxtails with their natural juices. I didnt enjoy them. The greens and Mac n cheese were decent. They can do with custimerbservice. If you are going to have young people and family working in your business, they need to be taught customer service skills.

The grits was full of cheese🤢 Why do ppl think hella cheese is good on everything 🤮 the salmon croquettes was gross and full of what ever they tried to stretch it with... I asked for over hard fried eggs, but yolk is coming out.... Tried supporting my ppl, but imma have to stick with Cafe LaFong's 🤷🏿♀️
Yams was old didnt have the right stuff in them .Shrimp and grits was like water down
I ordered chicken and mac and cheese—and I swear, the "mac and cheese" looked like someone just threw dry noodles in a bowl, slapped some cheese on top, and hit it with a microwave. I even asked the lady, “Is that for me?” 😳😂 I said, hell naw. I still got the chicken, but I ended up sick. It was nasty—just straight up bad. This happened about 3 years ago, and I’ve never forgotten it. I wouldn’t give them a dime again. Honestly, I should’ve sued.
I cook and I know what yesterday food looks like that Mac n cheese had no cheese the turkey chops barely had meat on emthe gravy was smacking the cornbread was hard and dry….. whoever made that mac tho u don’t know what u are doing
