Taqueria San Jose Oakland Reviews
Super Burrito taste like heaven I’m normally a chicken person but I got carne asada and it’s the best I’ve ever had They put a good amount of meat and sour cream and guac !!!!!
Great homemade tortillas! Chef was very kind! Loved the green salsa! Would recommend. Reasonable prices and they bring your food to the table
OK, I’m not a big menudo fan which is what everyone orders here in the weekend but this place has fabulous tacos. There is also live music if you time your visit right. Everyone here seems happy.
Loved the chilaquiles and it was such a good deal for 9,50 usd! So much food! The chicken thighs were perfectly seasoned and grilled. The rice and beans were delicious, no bland food here!! The chilaquiles were covered in tasty (not too spicy) salsa and a huge amount of goey cheese. The red and green salsa that came with the tortilla chips were both excellent and hella spicy 🔥. We also had very tasty freshly squeezed orange juice and tacos al pastor, what a treat! Super fast and friendly service. Will definitely come back here.
I just went again while visiting from out of town. I used to live in Oakland from 1995-1997 and this was a favorite place of mine to eat lunch. I was amazed that when I ordered the same woman was working the counter and the same man was working the grill. The super burrito carne asada and al pastor were still amazing as was the horchata. They still bring chips and spicy salsas (verde and roja) to your table. I took a couple of my adult kids here to share the experience. They loved it and we didn't eat dinner. The prices are reasonable to boot. Pros: Amazing authentic food, great prices, consistent quality, large portions. Cons: The area is not as safe as it used to be. Go midday for lunch and you should be fine. We walked from the BART station and back. Helpfull hint: Eat the burrito by placing it vertical and slowly unwrapping the foil from the top as you eat it. My son and I finished ours, but we had skipped breakfast. I don't see most people as being able to finish a whole burrito in one sitting and unwrapping the whole thing to eat it would become a bit messy.
GREAT MEAL DEALS. I RECOMMEND THE 2-ITEM DISH FOR $ 9.25 +TAX. YOU CAN SELECT FROM CHILE RELLENO (MY FAVORITE), ENCHILADA AND/OR TACO.
This is exactly the kind of experience I was hoping to find when I looked for breakfast options in Oakland. After searching through many Reddit and Yelp reviews and finding most of the top rated options to be unappealing (call me old fashioned but I give automatic red flags for decor featuring day of the dead or Frida Khalo), I then randomly looked in Google maps for spots on International near Fruitvale station. The food was legit, salsas bien picosas, all the staff looked like they knew how to fashion a shank from a cardboard toilet paper roll, and the bathrooms were so clean you could eat off them if you don’t mind the flavor of pine Fabuloso. 4/5s for service and atmosphere because I believe a good Mexican food joint should be slightly divey (see El Huarachito in LA), so four stars is actually highest praise.
BEST BURRITOS 🌯 EVER! I’D ALWAYS ORDER THE STEAK 🥩 SUPER BURRITO! ABSOLUTELY WAAAY BETTER THAN CHIPOTLE! My lunch break meal from Fencing! Must go back to Fruitvale BART and get it back! Oakland CA 1990’s.

I’ve been going to this place for over 24 yrs and it never disappoints!!! I have been known to come as soon as they open for a burrito lol it doesn’t matter what time of day this is hands down the best place to get any kind of Mexican food. I’m in AZ now and not 1 of the many places I’ve tried has ever come close planning a trip back to the bay just to come here!
I've been coming here for years. Everything is delicious! They cook everything fresh, and it's seasoned to perfection. So many tasty flavors at affordable prices. Hands down they are the best restaurant in the town. They have the best food. They also have great customer service and are very accommodating to special requests. Great place for families. On street parking can be hard to find but it's so worth it. I love this restaurant!!!
Great food, large portions. Came here bc I used to go to their location in San Rafael. People are nice too. Parking is tough tho...damn burrito was delicious bit way big. Makes you over eat!🤪
Great food! I come here pretty often so the staff always treat me and my family very nicely! All their food comes in large portions so the tacos are big and the burritos are huge. Prices are also very good compared to other spots in the area. Would definitely recommend if youre looking for somewhere new.
Every single time I drive to the Bay area I have to make the trip to Oakland to come here. I LOAD UP on 10-12 Burritos to bring home for friends and family and eat 3-4 of their Al Pastor Tacos before leaving. They have the best tasting in green salsa
Been a customer for YEARS! The only place I will get Mexican food in Oakland. My whole family loves them. We would drive from Sacramento to Oakland just to get burritos and tacos from this place. The green sauce is 🔥. You won't be disappointed.
One of the best in the Bay Area. I travel to get there food, and it is always good.

BEST FAMILY FOOD GREAT SERVICE
Nothing fancy but all tasty. Quick service. Good selection of beverages. The chip & salsa bar is simple, but chips are crispy and fresh. Nachos come with liquified cheese sauce, not topped with cheese and melted in a oven. Cheese sauce has good flavor, a couple of steps above baseball stadium cheese sauce. Generous helping of guacamole on the nachos. Nice little courtyard to sit in. They do accept credit cards, with a surcharge.

when I say, this is the most wretched disgusting, place I ever been at my tacos. I asked for four and I came out with two. Don’t never eat here.

Worst burrito I’ve had. This was not even a burrito. The rolling of the burrito was horrible, everything fell apart. Half of the burrito was filled with sour cream like how is this possible. I asked for beans de la olla, I got refried. Ingredients were not fresh. It was a cold sad cheap burrito.
The food wasn't cooked properly especially the bread. try to eat half of it. Just couldn't they used leftover ingredients as well. Wasn't great!
