Barney's Beanery Pasadena Reviews
Can’t say no to this gigantic calzone and yes it is indeed tasty. Very cool interior with buses as seats. There are three floors, and the upper level has pool tables and a bar, much quieter than the first floor. The lower level was closed for us that night. We had lots of fun.
I got wings and fries they were okay, but I've definitely had better and most likely won't order again, but I had a great time and the service was great. Theres karaoke downstairs and it was super fun. I would definitely go back.
Love this spot! Went for New Year’s Eve and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. They even opened up a section so my family could play pool. Will definitely be back soon!
I have been coming here since 2020, always a good time here the staff is amazing and the pool tables are always available when I’m here, the drinks are one of the strongest here 10/10
Cool spot to hang out with friends. Pizza was good. Pretty dark inside lots of sports in the tv. Pool table is always fun
One of my absolute favorite spots! This place has so much to offer with three floors of fun, including a tiki room with karaoke and a full billiards room. The atmosphere is lively and unique, the food and drinks always hit the spot, and there’s never a dull moment here. Whether you’re hanging out with friends, shooting pool, or singing your heart out, Barney’s Beanery in Pasadena is the perfect place to kick back and have a great time.
If you are a fan of college football or trying to watch an Game on Saturdays and optionally a Notre Dame football fan, this is a great place to watch ND football games on the East side of Los Angeles. Barney’s staff have been awesome and willing to set up a separate section upstairs of the bar to watch ND games on a set of TVs with game commentary audio. Overall great food and great service for a sports bar.
Not from around here but this is a super fun place! Aubrie was such a breath of fresh air server and so helpful with recommendations! Lots of fun decorations and the food options are overwhelming! (In a good way though! ) Drink options are just as good! Super friendly staff as well!
Barney's is our favorite place to watch football. Great food, great service, great craft beer selection. They are happy to change a TV near you to your favorite team's game. Its a true sports bar. On Sundays at Barney's the crowd is there to watch NFL games. Most people are wearing their team's jerseys or other team clothing. Its got a light and fun vibe. You can expect to see and hear friendly banter between opposing fans as the games play out. There is plenty of cheering and clapping for big plays scores. As for the food and drinks, we've really liked almost everything we've ordered. The burgers are fantastic, definitely a food joy menu item. I also recommend the hard cider for a lighter brew option. My favorite is the pineapple hard cider. If you haven't visited before, I highly recommend that you try the famous chili. Its famous for a reason. My favorite is the Fireman's Chili. Fun Facts: -The original location in West Hollywood has been around since 1920. -They currently have five locations spread around greater LA. -All ages are welcome in the restaurant. You have to be 21+ to sit at the bar. So, do yourself a favor and give this awesome sports bar a try soon.
Came in here this morning to have a drink and the bartender ELLA was AMAZING! She really was knowledgeable on the beers and helped me pick one I really likes 10/10 for her and service
The management has since changed, and is kind, wonderful and nice. A total 180 from the 2024-25 football watching season. I spent most of this season on a stool at Barneys. This is the go-to spot for…

Super huge plates you get a lot of food with your order can feed two people with just one order TBH
An absolute vibe. This location has 3 floors and something for everyone. The basement is a tiki themed bar often featuring karaoke. The main floor is a typical Barney’s theme with plenty of vintage decor, a good selection of draft beers and a DJ on weekends. The upstairs has at least 10 pool tables, likely more and a hidden out door patio, perfect to grab some fresh air and chat with friends. While there are a lot of seating options, I would suggest going early to snag a table for the night. We waited in a short line, no more than 5 minutes at 11:30pm on a Friday night. There was a $5 cover charge (can be paid cash, card or tap)
Venue & Atmosphere Fantastic spot to catch a game, with a tasty snack or a hearty meal. Fans of various teams come together harmoniously, creating a sociable atmosphere with many eager to strike up conversations during matches. Music Post-game, expect a lively mix of hip-hop and pop hits courtesy of the DJ. (Friday night) Staff Employees are notably friendly and engaging. Areas for Improvement The volume of the last call and bar close announcements is jarringly loud. Though effective, it's a bit grating. Also, the time gap between the last calls and the bar actually closing felt short.
O how this place has fallen. Took 20 minutes to get our table wiped clean, another 20 to get 2 beers. Didn't even attempt to order food. I really looked forward to coming here and expectations fell…

the waitstaff attentive - until one in our party waited 25 minutes for her beer. The bummer is that she's a regular, and she brings friends (like me for their first experience because she supports local businesses). They did the right thing and comp'd her drink. While I'm not a big drinker, my friends ordered several rounds of drinks and a few appetizers, guacamole (needed more salt/seasoning) and sweet potato fries (perfect).

Nice place to hangout and order a few drinks but kind of expensive. Servers are nothing special and I found a fruit fly in my drink and food
Came on a Sunday to watch football. Vibes were good, people watching games but everything else is a let down. The food is mediocre, we got nachos with stale chips and the cheese had no flavor. The server seemed like she had no help and was overwhelmed. We won’t likely be back.
If disappointment had a smell, it would be Barney's Beanery.\n\nI walked into Barney's Beanery expecting a casual meal and left wondering if I'd personally wronged the entire staff in a past life. …

Walked in and sat down. This place is open seating, and someone is supposed to bring a menu to you. I wait 25 minutes for a menu and did not receive one. I get up and make my presence known to a wa…
If you enjoy being treated like a suspect, this is the place for you. We came in for a quick lunch and the manager immediately asked for my credit card to "hold" in case we ran out on the bill. I'm not sure if they have a massive crime problem here or if the service is just that accusatory, but it was a total mood-killer. Plenty of other places nearby that actually trust their guests. Oh, and a special shoutout for the 'shake'--my friend finally got his at the very end, despite asking for it first. It was a culinary masterpiece of milk and chocolate syrup. Truly unbelievable service."
Not a good experience here for Christmas Eve. The waitress is nice, but the girl at the front isn’t hospitable. Then an annoying customer tried to asked for my number despite me clearly not showing interest during the small talk. Luckily a more entertaining gentleman took over the conversation. To sum it up, a waste of time here…
Racist manager and racist bouncer. My partner and I tried to go into Barney’s and were denied entry, while six white customers were let in right before us. As soon as the door shut, one of the white men said “stupid Mexicans,” and the manager (who is African American) laughed instead of addressing it. Absolutely unacceptable experience. The location is already mediocre and only gets hype because it’s in Pasadena, but this was the final straw. If you want better drinks, better energy, and zero racist treatment, go to Club 54 instead.
Went on a Saturday afternoon to watch one of the biggest college games in the country (on ESPN). Had most of the TV's playing ESPN2 with only 1 TV outside and another TV next to a reserved table playing ESPN. Took 30+ minutes for them to change a bar TV to ESPN (many excuses including they had to make sure no one else was watching the current game when 2 tv's right next to each other on the bar were playing the same thing and we asked one of them to be switched). In their defense the bar was extremely understaffed and seemed slammed (but two of the bartenders were rude, one was average, the other was amazing). Hard to tip too since they all serve you and wanted to tip the amazing bartender but not sure how tip works.
