Rocco's Tavern Pasadena Reviews
Ambiance and service are on top tier level. Service was above and beyond and the experience was great. Everyone that shows up is either a return customer or a neighboring colleague. For only being there for a couple of hours I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that’s a traveler or local. We had wings and pizza. The best for a late night drink and wind down.
The food and service was great. We had a large group and they were quick to accommodate us. Definitely recommend checking it out if you are in Pasadena!
My go to for weekends and the perfect place to hang out with friends. Amazing wings and pizza. Plenty of TVs to catch games and the most amazing staff. Always attentive and in a great mood.
We came into Rocco’s Tavern in Pasadena and had an amazing experience! I ordered an extra, extra spicy Bloody Mary after a long night of partying the day before and wow, it totally hit the spot! They make it perfectly spicy and flavorful. The service was great we sat at the bar, and the bartender was super attentive, keeping the drinks and good vibes flowing. I didn’t even get a chance to snap a photo of my pepperoni and jalapeño pizza because I devoured it so fast it was that good! My husband had the shrimp tacos and loved them too. It’s such a fun place to watch sports — there are TVs everywhere, so no matter where you sit, you’ve got a great view of the games. This was our second time coming here, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. Quick service, great food, and a lively atmosphere. Highly recommend Rocco’s Tavern for drinks, bites, and game days! 🍕🍹🏈
Arrived shortly after they opened, so early they were still cleaning up the outdoor seating . Server was very attentive until she had to take over tending the bar, but we were done ordering and eating by then. Shared the Mediterranean plate appetizer. Enjoyed it. N/A selection a bit limited (the bright spot being Sam Adams Just The Haze IPA), but had a decent Arnold Palmer as well. Liked their Pint glasses and beer mugs, so we bought 2 of each for our backyard root-beer brew pub.
The wings and the pizza were dooopppe. One of my favorite items was the pizza though- the BBQ was one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. They're also pet-friendly and the 2 for 1 happy hour rules. Another great aspect were the prices. Even though I had a party of 4, the tab didn't exceed 120. I'd totally go again.
The food and the service was excellent. They have a drink special so my son and I ordered a Watermelon mojito and it was amazing. He ordered the half order ceaser chicken salad and he thought it was full order that's how larger the portions are. I ordered the calamari appetizer and that in itself was a meal. The prices are great, the food is awesome and the service was amazing.
Great spot friendly service, guidelines being followed as well. Our drinks were great, long Island ice tea and Moscow drinks with Tito tequila. The appetizers were super delicious. Got the dry rub and hot BBQ wings, garlic cheese bread with pepperoni. The artichoke dip was the exception however. Our group was not sure how to eat it. Tried digging in and yeah never ordering again. Stringy and chewy after attempting to consume it. The waitress took it off our bill with no backlash which was nice. Definitely a go to spot and would recommend others to try. 🍻
Great place to watch a dodger game. Beers are a bit pricey at $9 for bottled domestic beer, but it is Pasadena. The pizza was good, not great.
These guys are creative in patio seating due to covid restrictions. I love that they let you sit outside and order. Food was really good! But I couldn't give five stars because the service was quite slow. I'm sure they ate understaffed and struggling with that issue too balance a budget and stay open. So if you're going, be patient with the service.
The environment is pretty chill and laid back. The first waiter/ host wasn’t that attentive he told us to take a seat outside, never came to our table to offer drinks. He was too busy chatting with customers. After a couple minutes another waiter came by and asked if we preferred to sit inside since the heaters weren’t working (mind you it was kinda chilly outside) so we sat inside and an older gentleman took our orders and brought us our drinks. He was a much better host than the first guy. Anyway chicken Alfredo was too watery and flavorless, maybe needed some Parmesan cheese , never brought it out and we asked for it twice! chicken parmesano was actually very good, spaghetti came with it you get lots of food on the plates are big portions and the original cheese burger meat was kinda dry, got lots of fries tho. The customer service from the only waiter working that night (even tho there were 2 other waiters) was outstanding.
Service was average Burger was pretty good Meatball sub was subpar Drink was a heavy poor but failed at being an Old fashion A bit pricy for a bar Might be great for bar flys but we will not return
Aside from the happy hour deal, it’s not worth it. I had 2 beers, 1 burger, wings, and 1 appetizer $94 in total w/o tips. On top of that, the food was way too greasy.
Our first dining experience at Rocco’s Pasadena was truly unfortunate and left us feeling taken advantage of as guests. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that hospitality is not a priority here. The hostess, who is supposed to set the tone for the entire dining experience was unenthusiastic, did not smile, and made no effort to be welcoming. For a small party of 2, she handed us menus and told us to find our own table. At that point, one has to wonder what the purpose of having a host even is. It later became apparent that the hostess was also our server, which unfortunately explained a lot. The service throughout the meal was completely lifeless not a single smile, no engagement, and no sense of urgency or care. To make matters worse, two small 10-inch pizzas took over one hour to arrive. When the check came, the experience went from disappointing to outright frustrating. An automatic 18% gratuity was added to our bill for a party of only two despite the extremely poor service. While this policy is apparently mentioned on the menu, it does not make it acceptable. I typically tip a generous 20%-25% when service is good and deserved. On top of that, we were informed that any check over $150 is also subject to automatic gratuity, regardless of service quality. Gratuity should always be at the discretion of the guest, not forced through policy. To add insult to injury, a non-cash transaction fee was also added simply for paying with a credit card. Between mandatory gratuity and additional fees, the entire experience felt driven by greed rather than hospitality. The beautiful city of Pasadena has hundreds of incredible restaurants to choose from, many of which truly value their guests and take pride in service. Don’t waste your time or your money at Rocco’s Pasadena. Unfortunately, this was a very poor first impression, and we will not be returning.
#BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! I am livid. Not only did I have to walk up to get my drinks. Waiting & waiting while this Betty and a co-worker are talking and on phone! I was cool. Then saying she fixing computer. Every drink and food order wait and walk up for attention. Then we order a cheese pizza to go, mind we hate pineapple. They gave us a cheese pizza with pineapple. Who hates pineapple and utters the word. We were cool we gave her a $40 tip cash! Not knowing they add $43 gratuity automatically for lame service. My bill was 291.56. Begging to be served. We were going to give her a $1. But she had a kid. I felt like she had an off day. But then the off day should have expressed hey gratuity included then we would have come back again. Like I said, we met some cool people. Never again! Ever! She added a Margarita on our bill just because our friends sat next to us. And a Cali squeeze, what the hell is a Cali Squeeze for $9! Extra $22.22 on our bill that wasn't ours!!! I sat next to a guy and he didn't buy me a drink!!!! Horrible experience! Awful!!!! Never coming back again. We met some rad people though!
Came here to eat with a friend and from the door a darker complexion Hispanic or middle eastern man walked past and ignored us to go laugh and joke with patrons was strike 1 while we waited. Didn’t say “hi” or “one moment someone’s coming to help”. Strike two was the beautiful Asian woman that came seemed discriminatory when she walked up and looked me down and up and said “for 2?” We said yes and she said “ok pick whatever seats you want” and walked away lol. So at that point me and my friend started googling other food places with bars and we luckily found an amazing bbq spot called Crafts one door away and the service from the door was dramatically different and very respectful. As an lgbt / Black person I can pin point discrimination from the door and it was sad we drove 20 minutes to try this beautiful place just to have horrible service that made us feel uncomfortable eating due to potentially risking out health and safety eating somewhere that didn’t want us there. Crafts has amazing smoked brisket fries and an amazing full menu for people who may feel the same as I did walking in, this is a alternative right next door with good service 💕I uploaded photos we took of the bbq next door just so you can see the difference in menu and when you walk in you will feel a big difference in courtesy and hospitality!
