La Antigua Port Lavaca Reviews
Amazing food, service was great. We go back and try again.
Very quaint South Texas charm, with a mellow atmos6and excellent service. You can really tell this is a favorite of the locals, and the local high school pride is in full display! Highly recommend the beef nachos! It's enough to fill a big ol' boy right up!
They have good food. We met Sister and Hannah for a bite to eat. It was good. Sweet tea was good too. The food plate was hot, food not so much but was good. Plenty of parking. Clean restroom. Family-friendly restaurant.
Wow were they busy! We had plenty of time so didn't mind the slower service. Fried avocado and fajitas were great. Charro beans were a little lackluster, but that wont stop us from going again. We felt it was a good value for the price too.
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants! The food is always delicious and the service is consistently good. This is the only place where you can find the Juanito dish—and it’s an absolute must-try! Everything is made fresh, and the flavors are spot on. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic Mexican cuisine with unique offerings.
One of the Best places to eat in Port Lavaca that family friendly.Clean Atmosphere Beautiful Artwork, Food is Delicious, Stuff Avocado is out of this world. The best I have eaten. Kid friendly meals. Staff was helpful ,friendly and Went out of the way to help with us our 3 small children's extra needs.
Have been here many times. The food is always great. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait but it's worth it for hot and fresh cooked meals. Only thing that takes anything away is the seats are nearly all old and torn up which is uncomfortable if you are wearing shorts, and there's always times if big dusty buildup all around the ceiling. Not a big deal but it doesn't look clean. Won't stop me from coming here every time I visit Port Lavaca though. Highly recommend the stuffed avocado
Perfect Margaritas every time. Make sure to not fill up on chips and hot sauce because the menu items are more diverse than other Mexican restaurants. Try one of the stuffed avocados, you won’t be disappointed. I had the shrimp stuffed avocado this trip and took a Togo plate home because the plate is plentiful. The service is great, too.
This place is incredible. I have only had the Avocado Stuffed cheese and fajita chicken. Also with this dish is a cup o Tortilla soup, rice, refried beans and beef fajita in a tortilla. There is so much food that you cannot eat it all. This dish is tasty and incredible. I only come down once a year, but this restaurant is a must to visit.
Very good food, service was barely ok. Plenty of parking with a separate boat and trailer lot.
I hate to slam a small joint like this, but I just did not have a good experience. I ordered queso as an appetizer and then the fajita steak enchiladas for my meal. The queso was basically concession stand nacho cheese, yet it was surprisingly the best thing I had there other than my coke. If you like salsa, this isn’t the place. It comes in bottle and you’re supposed to squirt it into a small bowl. It’s very watery and lacks flavor. As for the the main meal: something in the enchiladas tasted like they were freezer bit and it was the most dominant flavor, which wasn’t great. The rice was rather bland, and the beans had a cardboard taste to them. I wasn’t able to finish my meal. Maybe I came on a bad day. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I would normally give a place a second chance, but this experience was just so lack luster that I don’t think I could talk myself into trying it again. Salsa and enchiladas are staples, and they’re usually what a lot of people base their opinion on when they choose their favorite Mexican restaurants, and this place just fell flat with both of those items. I’m sorry, just my honest review.
Way overpriced for mediocre food i feel like I paid for lobster and got crayfish 6.50 for a taco is not OK I will never return ill eat mc Donald's breakfast
The food is bland & expensive. The service was bad. We had never been there before. The waitress asked if we were ready to order. We told her not yet. She sat at another table w/ all the other waitresses but one. When we were ready we set our menus aside. After 10 minutes I got up to speak to a woman that had ben working behind the counter but she practically ran me over leaving. There was a man there that seemed to be some sort of supervisor. He knew we were waiting. I told my husband I wanted to pay for our tea & leave, but after waiting 15 minutes for the waitress she took our order. A waste of $40.
Food wasn’t the greatest drink was flat prices r crazy service was alright. Definitely sticking to Victoria.
We took our friends out to dinner, and the the waitress was sweet but they brought me the wrong dinner twice! And then after that, the waitress basically disappeared for almost an hour! We had to go ask her for the check. The food was not good either. We normally love Mexican... This was a disappointment. 😞
