First time here and definitely not our last. Staff were attentive, offering their self service kiosk as another customer took time ordering. We ordered a mill shake, classic smash burger, western smash burger, fries, and onion rings. You definitely need to start off with their amazing milk shake, it’ll change your life. The burgers have these brioche buns that feel like poofy clouds. You can’t order the meat cooked medium rare since the way its made but its still juicy. The music is pretty good too. All and all its definitely worth your time to give them a try if you haven’t already!

One word summary for the food: yummy 😋!!! Tasty burger with toasted buns, delicious fries and onion ring, thick and creamy shake. It was an enjoyable lunch! It was our first time there. The person who took our order took the time to explain every item on the menu. Also he gave some recommendations which we appreciated. Restaurant has inside and outside sitting. It is small but clean.

First time trying this place out, was recommended by a friend. The location is medium sized they do sell premium A5 wagyu to go as well as also various types and cuts, I got the Swagyu western bbq burger and it did not disappoint absolutely the best burger I’ve had in years, it is a little heavy considering it’s half a pound, but the flavor is off the carts. The fries are similar to potato wedges that were cooked to perfection nice and crispy edges. The staff was friendly and super knowledgeable. The burgers are a little pricey but also remember that is high quality meat so very much worth every penny. Highly recommend.

We went to the Poway branch and it's located in a small plaza with lots of parking. I got the 3×3 smash burger with onion rings and the 3 stacks of patties with 3 layers of cheese was incredible. The burnt ends of the beef patty is to die for. My wife got the 1/2lb smash burger lunch special and it was a really good deal. It comes with fries and drink. Their fries were the bomb. We will definitely come back here. 5 stars and more🙌

These Swagyu burgers were nothing short of mouthwatering! It was definitely one of the juiciest burgers I have ever had. I got the El Swagador. Has a little l kick with the Serrano Chili's and great balance with the pork belly. It was a combination I've never had before but was perfectly executed. My friend ordered the 1/2lb classic. Needless to say, there was nothing left, so you gotta believe it was good. The sidewinder fries were definitely interesting as well. Crispy outside and soft inside. Be sure to dip it in their secret sauce. They even gave us a little sample of their egg nog dessert, which was a delicious way to end the meal. Every member of the staff was awesome and made it a pleasure to dine inside. I will be returning for sure to try out your Western Angus my next visit. Keep serving up those Fire Burgers!

The smell of how delicious the burgers that awaited us made us salivate the minute we walked in. A delicious hidden gem at the far end of poway. We found this place when we were driving thru for work, and it quite hidden. They even have a butcher shop around the corner. We ordered one swagyu burger and the regular cheese burgers. The Japanese wagyu burgers are more pricey but absolutely delicious and worth the price of an occasional visit. These burgers are quite big and the menu gives you quite a selection of choices. We also ordered some fries and a drink. When they brought these burgers out to us we had one thing on our mind; eat!!! The layout on the inside is a chill burger joint, perfect place for a nice stop. Check this place out! You won’t forget it! The food was delicious

I had the OG and added the Katsu cheese. Definitely one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend going and trying it out. Multiple locations around SD. I can understand why they are showing up on the “best burger” lists for SD.

Decided to visit the newest eatery in my neighborhood. We ordered quarter pound smashburgers and 1 order of nitro potatoes to share. The burger is slighly bigger than a slider, the bun is soft and delicious. The meat, cheese and pickles made a great combination along with the secret sauce. Seasoned just right! The seasoned nitro potatoes pair well with the sauce served on the side. They have a meat counter with selected cuts to go. Give them a try!

One of the best burgers I've had ANYWHERE in California. Very happy to see the store open up! Used to visit the food truck at this location in Wednesday's to grab a burger. The El Swagador is exceptional, without a doubt. The pork belly and serranos come together to make an unforgettable burger, that I'm craving weeks after! Even the normal cheeseburgers are excellent, better than The Friendly when it comes to a basic smash burger, just a bit more pricey! Service is decently quick. Frying fresh fries and a couple patties takes them about 10 minutes, but that's faster than the food truck used to be! Atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful and clean. Friendly and inviting, and nice to be on a hot summers day. Amazing place, so happy to finally be able to eat here!

I like this place. Tasty burgers, delicious fries, onion rings on point. Can't go wrong with the Swagyu Smash or the Angus burgers. Service is fast. They make everything fresh in front of yo but they are so good at what they the food appears almost immediately. Not the cheapest burger place but not over priced for the quality.

The burgers at Swagyu range from $8.50 (Single Cheeseburger, American Wagyu smash patti) all the way up to $28 (El Swagador Burger, two 4oz swagu smash patties). (Prices as of April 2024). Upon entering we were given a rundown/education/upsell about the items on offer and the different types of wagyu. Add another $8 for sides such as fries or onion rings. Milkshakes, soft drinks and bottled water are available as well as a container and cups for complimentary water. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor casual dining, albeit the outdoor tables are right next to busy Twin Peaks Rd. Inside, the restaurant has attractive trailing plants set against black and natural accents, bringing a touch of the outside in. Inside was a little smokey from the grilling for my liking and I would have preferred to sit outside, but my husband didn't want to sit next to the busy road. I think a line of bushes planted along the patio/road wouldn't go amiss. Our burger was good and well appointed with 'extras' like lettuce, tomato and pickles, although I personally felt the patti was on the skinny side. The sidewinder fries and dips were delicious. We had wanted to try Swagyu for long time, haven driven by several times. While I would have liked to have tasted the top-of-the line burger, we weren't about to spend in the region of $50-$60 on two burgers and fries at a fast casual restaurant. The $8.50 burger we had was good enough and did the job of filling our bellies. For us, this was likely a one-time dining experience. Free parking is available in front of the restaurant which is located in a small (dying) strip mall. Check the Swagyu website for other locations coming soon.

First time to the Poway location. First and foremost, the staff rocks it. Knowledgeable and social, a pleasure! I was surprised how quaint the seating area is in person, decorated with hanging plants 🪴 and Rasta music overhead, a decent Sunday afternoon vibe going. We did a comparison of Waygu Classic vs the American Waygu Cheeseburger. The juiciness and flavor is bar none for the Waygu. I understand the premise for the AWC, mainly cost at $8.50, however it’s not why I would make the trek to Swaygu. Carry on guys! See you at UTC next 🍔

I really liked the burgers here for a nice lunch or easy dinner. Service was quick and on point, got a larger burger order correct. I recommend going and will be going back. I normally rate: 1 star dont go 2 star average and would only go if really need or por service or very overpriced. 3 star above average. good rating for me. id go again. 4 star is great. lots of perks and bonuses 5 star is absolutely recommend and must go

I’ve heard about this place and finally got to try it. We went for lunch on a Friday. It was pretty quiet and not busy at all. The space is a decent size. We were the only diners. The restroom had “out of order” sign but they let me use it. You had to go through the kitchen to get to it. We ordered two cheese burgers, one Smash burger with Swagyu smash patty, cheese katsu sando, A5 wagyu fat shoestring fries and a brownie. The burgers were good especially the smash burger but i don’t think it’s worth the price. The shoestring fries were not really shoestrings-ish and I couldn’t tell if these wagyu fries taste any different than regular fries. The brownie was still frozen so i asked the staff to make a shake out of it instead. He was nice to accommodate the request. Overall, it’s ok. I had higher expectations for this place though

Edit: I came back for the wagyu and I'm pretty sure I got food poisoning so I probably won't be back. I wasn't willing to dive into a 1/3 wagyu burger on first attempt so I got a single standard patty to test the waters. It was a typical diner burger build of meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion, but just the right amount. It also had a more novel cheese crisp which was amazing, as well as a nice sauce reminiscent of in n out. All in all very tasty, one of the best craft burgers I've had in San Diego. I'll definitely be stopping by to try the wagyu blend patty and to maybe snag some Japanese wagyu from their butcher shop nearby.

So a lot of hype for a burger but we tried them. We got both waygu burgers and milkshakes with no fries and it was 70 bucks. Burger was good but not worth the price tag. It was good to go once and say we tried it though

First time tonight. Ordered no onion, no tomato and secret sauce on the side. Everything was on both burgers. We ordered two shakes and after they delivered our burgers we asked for them and they had not started them. Burger patty was crispy and dry. Not going back.

I really wanted to like this burger, but it missed the mark. The bun-to-meat ratio was way off — the bread was thick and the patty was extremely thin. I understand it’s a smash burger, but all you could taste was the bread. The meat itself didn’t have much flavor and tasted more boiled than grilled, with no seasoning on top. For a burger advertised as Wagyu and costing $15, I expected a lot more. The bread shouldn’t be the star of the show — the beef should. Unfortunately, this one wasn’t worth the price

Not sure how this place is in business. I ordered a burger that cost $18, and fries were a separate cost(funniest ripoff from hipster burger joints), and then it just made me sick. The worst part is that the food didn’t even taste remotely good. At least at in-n-out you consistently get good food at a fraction of the price. Won’t try places like this ever again. I don’t write reviews at all, but this place was exceptionally terrible. Thanks for making me waste my money.
