Yum Yum Noodle Bar Red Hook Reviews
A neighborhood staple and in heavy rotation for both dine in and take out for me. Delicious food, friendly staff, comfortable space.
Came in for the first time with the love of my life... I ordered the Miso-Sake Cured Salmon with a Long Island Iced Tea. My love ordered the Pork Dumplings with a Cherry Yuzu Whiskey Sour which personally I think that Yuzu tastes horrible but that's personal preference. Sky our server was awesome she made the drinks which were absolutely delicious and the food was amazing. The environment is very nice inside they have booth tables and a bar area. I must say tho Ethan creates the ambiance through the energy that just radiates off of him with his attentiveness and overall attitude. The cook Leidy must be some sort of magician because our food was made and out faster than I could write this review. The salmon was perfect and I might add a great amount for the price of the dish.
I Love Yum Yum in Red Hook !! Skye was my server and took very good care of me. Food is always Delicious 😋 You can always relax and unwind at Yum Yum
Great space - we were with two kids under 5 and the space was perfect. Not too noisy and not too quiet where the kids would disrupt others. Also food was amazing and very extensive menu. Bubble tea galore. Highly suggest the red curry stew, the salmon and the burger… all favs. This will be our weekly spot.
I've dined at the Yum Yum Noodle bar location in Woodstock, NY, with some frequency and always enjoy the delicious food and superb service, so, while near Red Hook earlier today, I thought I'd give this location a try. Service was prompt and friendly from Ethan and the other team working there. The place was spotlessly clean and nicely appointed. The food was just a incredible as ice had at their Woodstock location. Perfection!
This place is so cute and the Bao buns with pork belly are amazing. Definitely a cute little place to grab some great food. The ginger tea wasn't good until I asked for simple syrup with it and then it was perfect. The coconut curry was a no for me but my friend loved hers. The pork tan tan was also really good choice. I ordered mine with a soft boiled egg and it was heavenly, Also the cocktails are great.
Went to Yum Yum Noodle in Red Hook after work with a coworker who has said often how he wanted to go. We gave their Korean Nachos and Honey Sriracha wings a whirl, and I may have to do something about the mighty need I have for another taco! The wings were tasty but I think they needed a little more sriracha, because the honey sort of overpowered them. The dipping sauce was based on the wing's sauce Korean Tacos with pork are now my everything order there. The sambal, sriracha mayo dressing was astonishing! He tried their "Drunkin" Noodle with crispy tofu, (his first at tofu, and first time with drunken noodles AND chopsticks) while I stuck with my pork belly in coconut curry broth udon - my go to. Our server was prompt, polite, and helpful. The music was at the perfect volume, and every song just hit that nail on the head. Perfect station choice. I love that Yum Yum came to Red Hook; I hope it stays for a long time because every time I go, I leave so happy!
Hearty fare that is very filling. This is a great lunch stop and a welcome break from the cold weather. Menu options focus on build your own noodle bowls with plenty of variety. Other options including daily specials highlighting the menu are also excellent choice. Great selection of Asian beers and local craft brews as well.
The vegan food is good and works well for me. I've eaten here multiple times. We prefer takeout 🥡 over dine in. I've tried curbside pickup several times: It's been a consistent problem. They tell you to call them when you are parked outside and they will bring you the food. This time I did as instructed. When you call them, the Noise level is so loud that you actually have to yell as loud as you can - just to hear yourself! Seriously unpleasant! I let them know that I am right outside the window. Then I waited patiently. Got involved with my phone. No problem. They left my order sitting on the counter inside getting cold and they forgot about it! I could have sat patiently for another half hour, without them realizing. Eventually, I realized that there is something wrong so I called again. The young lady brought it out, acknowledged that she forgot about it and apologized. That's appropriate. It seems that curbside pickup is too complicated for them to manage or the team is overwhelmed. Could I suggest a systems improvement? Maybe a yellow post It tag for curbside pickup to distinguish it from inside pickup? Whatever they need to make it work? Helpful?
Really nice place to eat noodles and ramen. They have specials too. But I highly recommend the Red Curry Seafood Stew. I wanted the kids to taste it, so we asked for a milder curry flavor, the yellow curry. Will definitely try the Red curry next time. I guess the name of the restaurant says it all. Really YumYum!
Tried this place tonight and ordered the following dishes, fried pork dumplings, Korean beef tacos and Kung Pao noodles and wash it down with some Blue Point Shore Thing Lager. The fried dumplings were ok, maybe steamed would have been better, next time. I enjoyed the Korean beef tacos with kimchi & gochujang mayo. The kung pao noodles- spicy ramen with peanuts, fried egg & veggies was delicious and had some kick, thought it would be spicier. All dishes came out hot and quickly. Nice place.
My wife and I ate here for lunch today. We both love Asian food and were happy to find a noodle place in Red Hook but after eating here we were surprised to read all the positive reviews. We shared an order of pork dumplings and then both had a noodle bowl (their signature dish), mine was pork with soba, my wife had curry chicken with ramen noodles. The pork in the dumplings was tough. And the noodle bowls were not good. In both cases, the stock was thin and watery, lacking any richness that is typical in ramen and pho, and didn’t seem to have any discernible Asian flavorings Iginger, garlic, star anise, curry). My wife’s soup had large chunks of flavorless chicken. Mine had pork with browned skin which was okay. To both were added chopped lettuce (!) a hard cooked boiled egg, a few mushrooms and bits of corn and very mediocre noodles. Even the boba tea my wife ordered was watery. The service was pleasant and the atmosphere okay. The food was the problem. It’s possible we were there on an off day (new chef?) but I cannot recommend this place based on our experience.
