Dining Hall West Richardson Reviews
Buffet style canteen. Usually about 15-20 items to choose from. Student friendly of course. If it's Friday, wear something green or orange 😁. They give a discount on that.
The whole family was very pleased with our options and quality. Not every station was open, yet we found plenty to eat. Wish I was back in school.
Great service, friendly staff, delicious food...this is a great spot for all incoming freshmen (me included). Definitely a casual study spot on my more stressful days.
They have a good variety of food, especially for people with dietary restrictions. They also do pop-ups of types of food not always available. Not everything is great all the time but it's definitely good enough for what you pay for it.
Can't rate the service because it is, mostly, buffet style. I've only had one meal here, and it was part of my son's orientation. The meal was tasty and hot, just my style.
The best restaurant in DALLAS, dare I even say, UNIVERSE. The Dining Hall has the kindest staff, cleanest silverware and plates, and the best food. I once had their buffalo cauliflower and it was TO DIE FOR. Also, try their comet themed brownies. When they have gnats stuck on them, they taste even BETTER and I get all the protein I need. This proves that the DHW really does care about a balanced diet. WHOOSH XD!!!! I love to come here even on the weekends. Really love the UTD spirit. If you come between the times of 2 and 4 in the afternoon, the food taste the best. Sometimes, I stay through breakfast, until lunch and wait for their delicious marinara sauce. XXXDDDDDDDDDDD
Overall pretty good place. I had heard bad things from other students but when I got there I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good! Dont let the rumors fool you and try it out for yourself, you won’t regret it!
I like how there's always options. You'll never starve. Food is usually pretty okay, but on the days it's not there's pizza, the salad bar, the fruit bar, yogurt, waffles. There's always a healthy option.
7 lines with a variety of cuisines. The flow is quite efficient until the end of a scheduled lunch when there is a bottleneck at the plates/trays/utensils wash station.
The dining hall west is for the UTD students. It has a wide variety of food and it's amazing. Friday's has a buffet and if you wear green or orange t-shirt you get the buffet for $5. They also arrange specific events for students during exams where they give free food so that students can focus on studies and don't skip the dinner. They also arrange other events for fresher's. The people working are humble and the service is very good.
I'm a UTD student on the block-50 meal plan living off campus. The food was great for buffer style dining. It definitely beat my expectations. There are a lot choices, the exact menu can be seen online so you know what you're getting ahead of time, and there's plenty of seating available even during what I would consider the lunch rush. Very happy with my purchase and I'll definitely be getting a meal plan next semester as well.
The dining hall has improved significantly. The effort they have been showing is consistent, and we students deeply appreciate it!
No reason to hate on the food. If something doesn't seem good to you, don't grab it. That's it. They have so much variety that you'll always find something good.
They've improved the dining hall a lot this year actually. I remember every upperclassmen saying that it was not good at all and only good for the first day but it's genuinely been good every single day, and there's a lot of variety.
I enjoy this place, I think the average rating is not as good because they serve "grown up" food. I walk by and see kids eating french fries with cake or putting 2 liters of ketchup in a burger... sigh. I always get half a plate of salad, they usually have 4-5 different veggie options (and they change all the time) so I get plenty of veggies and then I get a protein. Sometimes I get soup or pizza If i am in a hurry. I am not a dessert guy so I usually skip those, i like ice cream but their ice cream machine has been broken recently.
If one is not looking for a premium dining experience and simply a place to obtain something to eat, this is a decent location. Dining Hall West offers a buffet style variety of cuisine, ranging from pizza, to seafood, to burgers. Various stations include a build-your-own sandwich bar, a salad bar, as well as a dessert station. Vegetarian and vegan options are available and clearly labeled, along with nutritional facts for every option provided. The overall quality of the food varies, but is generally acceptable. Be aware that for those signed onto the meal plan program, that continous dining from this location will have you start feeling like all the meat products start to taste the same. One of the other concerns appears to be healthwise and the sicknesses that may be caused, but I believe that the main issue may be stemming from the diners, as there is nothing inside the actual dining area to wash hands before and after handling the buffet.
The food, its not the best, except for the omelette. The omelette guy is really good and makes very good omelette. But the food on the whole is improving. There is plenty of space to sit in so that’s good.
The food selection is always good, but the quality can be questionable. I've gotten sick after eating here once, but I generally enjoy the food.
The dining hall food was actually pretty good. There was a variety of food options from pizza, pasta, grill and salad bar. The desserts and drinks were ok; it's what you would expect at a dining hall.
I love the vegan opportunities that are offered. But be aware of the synthetic food that appears so desirable; I made the mistake of eating those warm pastries about 8 times. It is incredibly convenient for a student like my self.
I personally really enjoy the dinning experience here. There are tons of option for me, and management always try to introduce themed dinning experience that leaves me eating way too much. It does have the problem of plates, cups being not clean(little spots), but overall I think they are doing a good job in switching up options and providing students with tons of choices. Food on weekends are not the best. Boards can be used to get meal exchanges around campus restaurants without any extra cost, which is a huge plus when you are in a hurry or just want to grab something. By the way, no food poisoning since day one, and going strong Ps: Please cook the veggies more Make sure rice is not rock hard
The problem with UTD dining is not this hall. Its pretty decent. The pizza kinda sucks but at least its pizza. The other things rotate pretty often and have some cool cultural foods and overall some good food.
I had such a wonderful dining experience here! The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The space is elegant and cozy, making it perfect for both casual meals and special occasions. Highly recommend!
For a college student, it's a 4 star, but for general public, it's a 2.5. Also mind when you go as they swap out breakfast-lunch-dinner at odd times and do not tell you when you are entering. You may end up spending money for the meal and there not being a meal available to have.
If you can eat the same 10 or so foods over and over again for months on end (like I can) than this place is great. If you require a more diverse mean... Well might want to look elsewhere.
It's ok. Food come out at 11 and 5. The lunch and dinner rush can get pretty bad. Mostly only recommend going if you have a meal plan.
It's a place for college students to realize they may need to learn how to cook. It's not the best when it comes to consistency on what's there, but at least there is always something to eat.
The food is a toss-up depending on the day, and the daily constants are mediocre. While I wouldn't call it bad, it's not worth the price.
Mostly meant for students. Not very trendy. They try to be economically friendly. They'll let you in, but DONT come between 10-11 or I think between 2 (3?) and 5 because they'll barely have any food! It is all you can eat though, which is nice. You also don't have to clean your own plates or throw anything away.. you just put what you're done with on a moving tray.
The dining hall is mediocre. It has a lot of problems, but also makes the effort to improve their errors. There are a few hours in the day where all you have to eat is cereal. Now I understand this is because they don't want to waste food when its more calm, but they should just make smaller portions for those hours. The staff is kind for the most part, but some are straight up rude. One thing that bothers me is that they out more effort into trying to celebrate holidays and decorating than actually preparing fresh food for the clients. Well three stars it is. Don't get a meal plan.
The food quality varys wildly depending on time of day, but generally if you get the food while it is fresh it is great but if it's been out to long it won't be as good. Variety is good but food quality is hit and miss.
It is neither bad nor good. If you eat a lot at one meal, this place might be a good option especially during when they offer discounts. Usually I eat at this place when everywhere else on campus are closed during late evening time.
Typical student dining hall. Sometimes you need spoon, but there are no spoons. Some food might be cold. It's noise, not so much as mac in an airport. It is a nice place for having fun with your classmates, because it is cheap: 6.5$ per visit on Fridays, several dishes make conversation long and nice. I like that place instead of all minuses.
The food is about as good as you might expect from a school cafeteria. The staff was friendly but there was not enough of them working during breakfast, lunch or dinner! Too many items had run out, the condiment counter was gross, too many tables were dirty, not enough kitchen staff/servers (when food ran out, servers had to run back and get the replenishment of eggs or bacon etc. Not enough staff washing dishes at any of the meals because it became almost impossible to find a place to stack your dishes. I was there for an event I know was booked several months in advance so UTD management is to blame not the servers, dishwashers, busboys etc. because they were doing the best they could in a (very) understaffed situation.
Decent food, but we were a bit rushed due to do many people attending our orientation session.
my friend Ari is a very big fan of yours. He loves your potatoes and thinks the way y’all deal with the diversity of students/dietary restrictions is amazing. Specifically, he thinks the seasoning is top notch, because there is Tabasco and sriracha on top of the salt and pepper. Very nice job people.
A good dining hall with a lot of food options. We got the free orientation lunch at this place. On Fridays, the place serves a $5 buffet if someone wears UTD colors: orange, white or green. The taste is decent but it is worth the cost.
Pretty underwhelming, I would want to see better quality food. The foods by themselves are alright, but the food doesn't go together well. The seasonings they use on each individual dish is OK at best but when you put foods together with tastes that don't go together, the food tastes way worse. The chocolate milk is my favorite but it seems like they're out half the time. I do like that you can take-out. I hope they serve more pasta, you can't mess up pasta. I am also fearful that the chicken is undercooked.
Most of the people serving the food and cleaning are so nice and I always enjoy talking to them along with, some of the food being pretty good and enjoyable. But unfortunately, sometimes it's NOT good at ALL. 🙏
The food is somewhat inconsistent in the quality- never undercooked but often overcooked. While the staff are friendly, some of them seem unwilling to accommodate the requests of students. And for some reason, they like to blast rave music from a speaker? The music choice changes from time to time, but the loud volume makes it very distracting when trying to just talk to other people. For UTD students, this is a less than average dining experience and an honestly disappointing attempt at providing a decent atmosphere. Oh, the deserts are pretty good though.
The food is pretty bad. Not gonna lie. Every once in a while the options are decent but more dishes are bland, boring , and tasteless. The tables are always dirty af too
Food is serviceable at best and will make you sick at the worst. My roommate has gotten food poisoning twice, and while I haven't gotten it, I've certainly felt sick after eating there. For the price of the meal plan you get food that some highschool cafeterias can outdo for $2.50. There is next to no redeeming quality except for the fact that you can steal cereal if you are sneaky enough.
I haven't noticed the perverse cleanliness issues other reviews mention but I have noticed the absolutely sub par food. My main grief is that they don't know how to cook rice or vegetables. Which wouldn't be too bad if they didn't insist on making rice and vegetables for every single meal. It's not hard to make rice or vegetables, but every time I eat rice or vegetables it's undercooked. Also their meats tend to be full of gristle or extremely dry. I just use it as an extremely overpriced cereal bar 😓. IDK if staff read these reviews, but if you're looking for someone who actually knows how to cook email me. I'll do it for minimum wage so long as it means I get to pass on crunchy rice.
This place is sooooo extremely hit or miss, and mostly miss. There are so many affronts to cooking that I've experienced here. They put zucchini and yellow squash in everything. To the point that it's kind of funny, but you'll get a quesadilla here and it'll have squash in it. The bright side is that there's a salad bar and a station to make your own sandwiches, which is hard for them to mess up. But seriously, one time I got a quesadilla and it was full of canned carrots and peas. What would make them do that.
Ok, so I honestly wouldn’t be so annoyed with this place if you weren’t pretty much forced to have a meal plan if you live in the dorms. Anyways, the food quality is really all over the place. For the first couple weeks of the fall semester, the pizza was burnt to hell and the breadsticks were hard as rocks (still normally are). However, after a few months, the food during the weekdays got to a point where it was usually decent except for breakfast...Breakfast here is horrible and should be avoided at all costs. On the weekend on the other hand, food quantity is low and it’s just generally bad overall. This is expecially evident on Sunday... Overall, I recommend that everyone move out of their dorm after freshman year and learn to cook, you’ll thank me later.
The people here are pretty nice and patient with you. But there’s no posted times for when they switch from breakfast to lunch to dinner. So sometimes you walk in with no food available. I paid for breakfast time food, none of it except for the waffle maker, some dessert items, the cereal dispensers, and cold soggy diced potatoes. I expected there to be scrambled eggs, sausage, omelets, or the other 3/4 of the food listed on the dining hall West website. This has happened twice where I wanted to get a quick meal before my class starts an hour later (there is an hour gap between my classes). TLDR; Class ended, Paid for food, No breakfast food cause they were making lunch. People were nice though.
Will you starve? Not really. But there's literally always something wrong everytime I come here. Rice and potatoes are never cooked, cups and utensils are out sometimes, and the food is just insanely inedible. Burgers are like the only normal thing I eat and I don't even like them because they're always dry. Sometimes they have just the most random looking plate of mystery meat and it's never very good. Just live off of cereal, if there's any milk. Other reviews have said they're only ever good if there's a tour going on and it's true. I'm glad to never have to eat here again after my meal plan is up.
I got food poisoning from here multiple times Grill station is most reliable. Dessert is okay, mid but didn't kill me. The staff were generally always nice to me tho.
Very disappointing. The food at UTD was never great to begin with, but there have been many occurrences that the food is reused into others, they take food from the fridge behind them and just serve it to you without heating it up. Some days are pretty okay, but the main food is not great for university standards.
Dining Hall West appears to have some notable issues with their food arrangement and serving system, particularly during events like the barbecue day. The long lines and the presence of just one person serving food for approximately 500 students is indeed inefficient and frustrating for everyone involved. To improve the dining experience, they should consider increasing their staff during peak hours or special events to ensure that students can get their food quickly and with less hassle. Additionally, distributing staff members to different serving stations could significantly expedite the process, making it more efficient and reducing wait times. The current slow serving process not only inconveniences students but also wastes valuable time. Ultimately, it's essential for Dining Hall West to address these issues to make the dining experience more worthwhile and enjoyable for all students.
Food is just regular collage food. Great when you are starving because it'll get rid of that appetite while serving enough energy to last through a few classes. Service depends honestly, sometimes it's great while other times you feel like the lunch lady is gonna beat you up. Atmosphere is good when it's not busy, otherwise rather smelly.
They have a 50% discount for utd students every Friday. But this week they start to check people's dressing with no any advance notification (like emails) but just a poster at the door. You have to wear green or orange (so called Comet colors lol) to get the discount. You can't just put a poster at the door and pretend that everybody knows what you're doing. This is self-deception! Too ridiculous and irresponsible!
Multiple instances of food poisoning within my 3 year experience here. Veggies are always over oiled, and essentially this is a curly fry factory.
I have celiac disease and they mislabel the gluten free food all the time (most of the staff don't even know what gluten is) after getting glutened for the 10th time I stopped going. If you are gluten free please don't depend on them for food.
Awful food Not real cooking Rice and vegetables are undercooked Vegetables are drenched in a gallon of oil Pork that is 10 times drier than chicken breast Juice machine is always out of order Milk machine is often out of milk Dirty tables, plates, and utensils Extremely overpriced 0 out of 10 would not recommend
Food is absolute garbage. If you're on UTD meal plan just do the meal exchange at any on campus restraunt. If you aren't on a UTD meal plan what are you doing going here
You come here with high hopes of a substantial meal that will leave you satiated. You leave having consumed 6 bowls of Cocoa Puffs because that is the best thing to eat.
be warned do not go dining hall if ou live off campus its one of the worst buffets and when i say worse i mean a buffet with low standard qualities the food will make you sick and UTD seems to use it as a way to steal from there students.
Terrible Staff. Terrible Food. Dirty Bowls and Plates. Dirty silverware. Dirty cups. Nothing else can be said, wasted my money getting a meal plan from this terrible place.
Do not be fooled Dining hall west cooks wonderful meals and of such wide variety... for the first week and on visits to lure people into buying larger plans. It then deteriorates heavily, and people have no option. As much as I love UTD and appreciate the hard work of many dining hall workers, UTD needs to act and change their meals entirely, because this is the worst part of the university. Undercooked and over cooked, no in-between, and people are unhappy but bound to go because there are such few options with the plans available.
Food here is only good during public times (tours and exposes). FAQ: For meal exchanges, which are allowed once a day, the $1.00 "fee-like" statement on the receipt is a placeholder so they can keep track of the meal exchanges and not an actual charge. Cons: They forgot the cheese in the mac and cheese Forgot the glaze in glazed ham - added more salt instead Forgot to finish cooking the rice. Crunchy. Forgot to fully cook vegetables. Managed to mess up at making donuts. Never serves strawberries. Available fruit is poor quality. Dishes not usually completely clean. Unconventional saturday and friday hours. Way too overpriced - more overpriced when there is less food out. Pros: the cookies are pretty good. They bake them in house.
Food bland and a lot of the vegetables aren't fresh, but instead it is rotting. The bread for the burgers is stale, the meat is plain, and sometimes the food smells. The soda is watered down. The soups are consistently terrible or plain. 1/20 times you go, there is something actually decent.
very inconsistent food, poor in nutrition, overall a massive disappointment. Meat is under cooked or over cooked, rice is either mushy or rock hard. Half the times you go there, there is nothing to eat. Once in a while they'll actually have something good.
It's only good when they need to impress someone. Please invest in learning some cooking skills so that you can feed yourself when on campus. Beware, the glasses can get pretty nasty. They started clear.
Rarely the food is good, the chicken is dry, the vegetables are probably cooked in sewer, the same trashy salad and that awful hotdog. It has the potential to be way better than it is.
This is absolutely one of the worst meals you can possibly ever eat. I have food sickness and lost my appetite just from eating here. Need to have more vegetarian options and better tasting food.
It's a lovely place to eat... If you're a cow, maybe. Low quality food, limited options for anyone who's not a vegan and/or willing to have to make the food they're paying for themselves seeing as half of the options in the dining hall seem to be "Make your own". The most service it's ever done me is making me pay about $10 for a bowl of Cheerios.
Suffered food poisoning, and STILL was not allowed to opt out of my meal plan. All I could do was decrease the number of meals I pay for, despite my protest and request for a waiver. Not worth it. If you can, try to live off campus during your freshman year so you aren't forced to pay for food poisoning.
the selection is often pitiful. i really wish there were more fruit options than just old apples, unripe bananas, and dry oranges. also the soda, coffee, and ice cream machines are out of order 50% of the time. i do respect the staff there and understand how difficult of a job it is but even the salad options look expired sometimes. they dont have any meals in midmorning or midafternoon and despite "closing" at 9 most nights, they start putting away teh food much earlier. generally just wish utd had more restaurant options or at least 24 hours service
Cannot understand how people are rating this place over 2 stars. Food is abysmal and unedible. Worst part of the freshman experience. Staff is so rude and food is barely cooked or disgusting. Environment is gross. Meal plan is a waste of money.
They regularly close an hour earlier than they are supposed to. The food is not edible, yet costs more than most restaurants. On the plus side, if you eat the chicken you'll have an easy lawsuit when you inevitably contract salmonella. EDIT: Got food poisoning 1 week after posting this review
Only edible stuff is generally the deserts, but even then, they are often covered with bugs . Food is often undercooked and ALWAYS under seasoned. (Im forced to drench the meat in sauce-- to where I can't even taste the meat-- as it is so dry and tasteless. If students weren't forced to buy the meal plans and go there, the dining hall would have nearly 0 customers. Fix your food quality, and then maybe you won't need to force the cafeteria upon students and they will actually go there themselves. Staff is friendly though.
I’m often left having to eat cereal most days because the food isn’t that great anymore. The food was good during my visit and the first couple of weeks, but it has deteriorated since then. The vegetables are not fresh, and the chicken is never cooked right. You’re also paying a lot of money to get subpar food quality.
To echo earlier reviews, my dining hall experience has gone from "disappointed and slightly sick" to "existence here is nothing but pain". The dining hall staff is friendly, and a few really care what they're doing. But that's the only upside. Food is overpriced and it is difficult yet impossible to get out of a meal plan. Vegetarian options are repetitive and bland, if they exist at all. Everyone I know had had food poisoning at least once. Food is often mislabeled and you don't know what's in it. Everything is pumped full of preservatives. For approx 10$ a meal I would like more than cereal in a cup. Additionally in my time here I've thrown up at LEAST 20 times, which equates to over 220$. Meals don't roll over if you don't use a certain number by the end of the week they're all gone. If you want to use a meal exchange it costs a dollar for a meal that at retail price is often about 6$. Dining hall is only good when tour groups come. Or on special occasions. It got a lot worse as the year progressed.
They give you great food at orientation, but it's a facade. Once you can no longer back out of your meal plan, they feed you absolute trash. Just leftovers and stuff they whipped together with whatever they had left in the kitchen.
Worst place for food on the campus. The meal plan is compulsory and makes you come here too many times a week. All the options are bad fried stuff, and trust me they have very little options for vegans and vegetarians. Its not worth paying $2000 dollars just to punish yourself by coming to eat here. If hell had a name it'd be dining hall west.
Bad buffet. Go there early to catch the best meal but it is expensive and i dont think it is worth its cost, compared to the quality of their food. i ate there for only one semester and towards the end of that semester, i noticed they started to give more vegetables which i was pretty annoyed with. I also realized how much money i was wasting. I had the Block 80 meal plan and paid $960 for it including tax. biggest waste of a $1000 ever!. I spend less than $500 a semester going to grocery stores and making my own food!
0/10 subpar garbage. I have gotten food poisoning three times from here. NEVER EAT HERE. The chefs are the most incompetent people to ever curse this planet. Raw chicken, rotten fruit, expired milk, and unsanitary conditions. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
UTD Dining: A Recipe in Need of Improvement When it comes to UTD dining, the food consistently falls short of expectations. The quality often feels uninspired, leaving students with limp vegetables, rubbery meats, and dishes that seem prepared without much attention to flavor. Blandness is a common theme, making many meals feel like they’re more about filling a requirement than creating something enjoyable to eat. The lack of variety adds to the issue. Week after week, we are faced with the same lineup of bland pizza, soggy pasta, and dry chicken burgers, with minimal rotation and sufficient options of Indian and other cuisines And then there’s the cost where despite these high prices, the food rarely feels worth what we’re paying for the 12$ price tag per person. When you compare UTD’s dining to other dining options, the gap in both quality and value becomes even more apparent. For the investment, us students deserve food that goes beyond the basics and incorporates fresher ingredients, a wider variety of cuisines, and a few fresh, tasty and quality healthiervchoices thrown in for good measure. To summarize though, UTD dining will benefit from a serious upgrade in its approach to campus meals. By prioritizing better ingredients, more diverse offerings, and using that tuition money and a bit more effort in the kitchen would go a long way in making the dining experience something students look forward to, not just a necessity.
I got food poisoning from here last April. It was one of the worst experience of my life. The food is extremely under cooked and dry and not worth the pain of potentially getting sick. Their weekend hours aren’t great, especially if you rely on the food as a student, and you likely do because if you live in the dorms you are required to buy a meal plan from here. I lost so much weight from not wanting to eat here but it being my only option. Would not recommend.
This is the worst food I’ve ever tasted and it’s well known throughout the campus that this is the biggest waste of money for freshman just so the university can make quick money. The food is really bland and they don’t season anything besides fries. The food sometimes feels like it’s been just reheated over and over again. I will say once in a blue moon they will have something that everyone eats and runs out of but that almost never happens and I get sad when I have to go eat the food there and sometimes rather go hungry than eat there. However most of the workers are nice people it’s the food that’s the huge problem
Horrible, I’ve gotten food poisoning at least several times a semester but as a low income student with no car, I have no choice but to rely on undercooked dry food. Don’t recommend. Run. The place is also unsanitary. There’s been a foul smell recently and a lot of the silverware still have stains on them.
Wow, rotten food on the salad bar, literally. It wasn't moldy, but cottage cheese gone bad and soured, lunch meat was old and slimy and some veggies were limp. Can't trust the food which is sad when sendu student here.
It's nice, but students should be warned. Lots of the chicken is under cooked, if cooked at all. Everything is dripping in grease, or has bugs on it. Or both. Staff is really nice, however, and it's a good place if you want to study in a friendly and comfy area.
Literally never any halal options. There should always be halal meat because there are so many Muslims. Food is just so bad I wish this wasn’t mandatory if your living in dorms
Absolutely disgusting; would never recommend eating here or getting a meal plan. The food is overcooked, underseasoned, and inedible most of the time. They mislabel food, and the food is usually very stale, oily, and smelly. The only edible things are the desserts and the salad bar. Overall, do not eat here if you value food, your health, and your well-being.
… I am speechless. Really awful food choice. Some food is not even fresh. It is cheap for student but it is just awful. Would rather pick Student Union than the dining hall
They need to do something about the flies. There are constantly flies around the food, and today one decided to land in my milk. The food is pretty awful, I feel bad for anyone who is paying full price. You won't starve, but compared to every other resturant it's just sad. It's bad even by university dining hall standards.
Never trust them in the first two weeks, The food became awful since the final canceling time was ended. The dining hall is equally ruined every food from every cultures. They don’t often clean the floor as well, so it’s usually sticky.
Oh my gosh the dining hall has been horrendous. Idk where to start. The fact that the freshman class have to live off this food every day is appalling. The food seems very healthy but food poising is part of the experience. I've seen that there have been many flies landing on the desserts and fruit. Worst of all is that the cups are not clean. I could taste BLEACH on multiple occasions inside the cups. The cups have absorbed the bleach or the soda dispensers have not been cleaned out of all the cleaners they use. They should get new cups. The ceiling was broken and leaking on the floor and there was not even a sign or bucket to clean up. We are eating and drinking poison. Seriously this place should be shut down. None of this is an exaggeration. The fries are good though.
Absolutely worst food possible. You get probably the most bland, disgusting food ever created. It makes frozen food taste divine in comparison. It is either always severely overcooked, or undercooked. I actually got sick after going here. And to just rub salt in the wound, they charge $15 for it all. The only reason they can get away with this is because some students are apparently required to put money on their comet card forcing them to only be able to spend it here. Health department should shut this place down.
The quality of the food genuinely scares me considering how much students are required to pay for it. The pasta was dried out and stringy despite being doused in water and oil from the questionable, greasy meat. The pizza tastes frozen despite the claims of food being “cooked from scratch.” You’ll definitely have better chances of finding decent meals at your local homeless shelter or Long John Silvers. At the very least the alternate options will kill you faster and steal less money from your family.
This is honestly some of the worst food I’ve had. There’s no excuse for the cafeteria to be this bad at a school with 30,000 people. Everything is always under seasoned and dry. Our head chef has 0 chef experience, he only has management experience. Update: I am in my second semester here and have had food poisoning numerous times. Last week I had to take my friend to the ER because of the vomiting and diarrhea.
