Grand China Buffet San Angelo Reviews
Such a great restaurant. Food was pretty good our table service was alright(our server felt new but was very knowledgeable just needed some experience) but the hostess was amazing. She took it upon herself to bring us a bag for our Togo boxes, and as we were leaving she saw our toddler starting to throw a fit so she cut a Ballon of the host desk and gave it to him. Here we are a day later and a drive back home and it is his favorite toy. It's the small things help. The vibe of the restaurant was amazing! There was great flavoring with the food and the queso was cheesy with a bit of smokeyness that but it over the top. If you're in San Angelo give this place a chance! The food quality and service overall are amazing!
We love coming here. My mother loves the white sauce. Today we ate fish tacos and fresh guacamole and all was delicious. Our server Cynthia was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. We most definitely will be back. She just told us about Karaoke on Fridays and live music on Saturdays at 8. Will definitely have to come check that out as well.
Currently was there but immediately served but the shrimp was not cleaned out iodine was in there very urgent I was not breathing had to get my energy pin out .and sent to the hospital. Really like this place. You wanted proof here you go . Do laugh at some about to die . For this person that answering the phone front desk family member... so sad. Sloppy on the cooks part also food was on anthor table for hours. Didn't like setting by the washing area.
I truly appreciate the hardwork and dedication from our waitress: ask for Ilse if you dine here! From the moment we sat down, she was incredibly welcoming and attentive. She took our drink orders promptly and offered helpful suggestions when we were deciding on appetizers. I have a few dietary restrictions, and Ilse patiently listened to my needs and double-checked with the kitchen to ensure my meal was prepared correctly.
Food really good, haven't had everything on their menu even though it is smaller than the menu at Henry's. The service is good, whenever it's busy it is a bit slow to get refills and alcohol orders but that's to be expected.
Sat at the bar, had great service...good food. Passing thru but loved it. Would absolutely go again.
This was my first visit to Alejandro's, and I will definitely be going back! My group went a little earlier than the usual dinner crowd, so there weren't many people, which was great for us as the normal restaurant sound level wasn't present, allowing us to carry on a comfortable conversation. The atmosphere was pleasant. You know you're in a Mexican restaurant, but the decorations aren't over-the-top kitschy. We got the Tri-Dip appetizer (guacamole, beans, and queso), which was delicious. For the main course, I ordered the Quesa Birria, which was great! Our server, Juan, was fantastic! He kept our drinks topped off, always had a smile, and made sure we wanted for nothing. The prices were about on-par with other restaurants, so there was no "sticker shock." There was plenty of parking, along with easy wheelchair access. If you're looking for good food at comparable prices, served in a comfortable atmosphere by friendly staff, give Alejandro's a try!
Just tried out the new breakfast menu. My husband was eager to try the chilequiles. He opted for green sauce, which he said was spicy but not wreck-your-pallette spicy & was complimentary to the rest of the dish. He also had an egg & fajita steak added and enjoyed both. Our toddler had the kids pancake plate. Our server said she thought the cook forgot it was for a kid because the portion was huge (no complaints here!). Everything was delicious. I had the tres leches French toast. It was delicious! A nice caramelization on the bread, not soggy, sweet but not overly. We had several staff check on us and ask for feedback, as this was the second day of their breakfast menu. Everyone was so kind & friendly. The atmosphere was fantastic...no loud music blaring, clean, beautiful decor. We will be back! So excited to try more from the menu!!
We came here for date night. Plenty of parking but it was busy. We walked in and there was a man playing live music and we waited a bit to be seated. Once we were seated we had to wait a bit to get our drinks ordered but they brought out chips and salsa and a white ranch style sauce. After we received our drinks they took our order and the food came out within a reasonable amount of time. The food tasted amazing, the beans had a nice touch of bacon flavor to them and the guac and queso tasted delicious. I ordered the fish tacos, good but missing coleslaw and my wife got the street tacos which she said were phenomenal. We also ordered a margarita which was also good. We will most likely be back because of how delicious everything tasted.
Wow. I got the chicken fried steak and my husband got the three meat parrillada. The CFS was a 4 stars. It was HUGE!! The pictures do not do it justice, it was incredible. It was just missing some salt, which I would rather it need salt than be too salty. The bed of fries was soooo good. They were perfectly battered and crispy. The real star of the show was the parrillada. It was so full of flavor all we could keep saying is “wow” with each bite. This is by far the best flavored fajitas i’ve had in a restaurant. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. Sometimes restaurants over cook them resulting in them being chewy. Or, the tail rips the meat having some get stuck in the shell. But these shrimp were perfect, every single one of them. We came here on thinking it was a different restaurant, but this was a happy little accident. Will return. Wow.
Very clean, beautiful scenery, food and drinks were deliciously delicious. We had the Street Tacos and Mexican plate.i will be back for more of the refried beans ,which was out of this world!!Our server Cyndi was so kind, Attentive, and All the best to us.Also big thanks to the others who helped with chips and bringing out our food! 10/10 experience
BREAKFAST review...open for breakfast fri-sun 8 am. WOW! talk about seriously good food, service and value....Alejandro's has hit a home run in San Angelo's breakfast market. Today our table of 4 enjoyed an omelette, chilaquiles , and eggs divorcio. All entrees were cooked to our liking and were seasoned properly. Each dish had large portions. My favorite was the breakfast potatoes. They were perfectly cooked and tasty. Our waiter, Adrian, was attentive and pleasant. After our meal we all compared notes and said on a scale of 1 to 10 we would give the overall experience a perfect 10 score. If you want a delicious breakfast at a fair price, this is the new place to go in San Angelo!
We dined at Alejandros for dinner this evening & it was amazing!! We were greeted & seated quickly. They brought salsa & "white sauce" which is a San Angelo delicacy!!! The white sauce is normally something you must order & pay for but at Alejandros - it is complementary and is absolutely the best in town (in my opinion). We ordered a Michelada (with Victoria - which you don't find at most places) and a Cazuela (which is a Paloma in a bowl). For food - we ordered a Kid's cheese quesadilla & Fajitas Nortenas. The food came out very quickly!! The kid definitely approved of the quesadilla!! Our fajitas were delicious - both chicken & beef smothered with perfectly grilled onions, chorizo, & queso!! It was enough for 2 people & we brought home leftovers. Overall - we had a fantastic dining experience at Alejandros & will definitely return!!
We ordered Birria and Street tacos both were presented nicely, what I enjoyed the most is that the tacos, beans and condiments each had its own flavor. The Charro beans I could have eaten on its own for a meal. Our server Isabella did a great job friendly, helpful and professional. Restaurant staff had good teamwork going, volume background music was just right where you can listen and still hold a conversation. We haven't been here in while glad we decided to stop by.
First time eating there, it was very good!
First, the waitress we had was outstanding. She topped off everything without even needing to ask really. The food itself was also great. All of it was flavored perfectly and the portions were generous. They have this white sauce that is also a bit unusual though is actually pretty good. I'd definitely recommend.
Eaten here twice now and I wish I knew this place existed so much sooner. I def recommend trying their birria tacos! Service is excellent and the portions are pretty reasonable for the price.
Always have had great service here with friendly and attentive waiters. Everything I’ve had here is delicious, and quickly gets to the table. Even the chips, salsa and white or green sauce are great. Always clean, open space, cool bar. Two thumbs up
We had a very large group in need of a place to gather for lunch, and Alejandro’s took amazing care of us. The staff were very kind and accommodating, and even seated us early as our group started to trickle in. Excellent service across the board, and the food & drinks were fantastic! Thank you, Alejandro’s for taking great care of us and making our gathering easy and enjoyable!
Darn good Mexican fare! The venu alone is awesome..big and spacious, open and welcoming. Staff are super kind and tentative. Tiffany was spectacular for my son and I first visit here. Very kind and patient with my son. The food is on point as well. Steak ranchero a perfect medium with a nice spice to it. Mexican rice and refried beans very tasty and not too salty at all. Guac here is super fresh and very good on chips! Red salsa also bet good and very fresh. Love that they offer corn tortillas, my personal favorite. The shrimp cocktail is huge and tast! Served two easy. The chicken quesadilla was devoured by my son so I guess he liked it. The house grilled chicken salad is huge and eats like a meal by itself. Tender chickens fresh greens, key points of a good salad. The fried vanilla ice cream was also huge, enough for 2-3 easy. Drizzle of honey over the ice cream and edible fried tortilla shells was a nice touch. Prices are fair, service fast, food delicious. What more can ya ask for? I'll be back again for sure for some fajitas goods!
Carla and I were i the facility on Friday or Saturday night last week and were expecting our regular reason service. Then Katie showed up and what an experience. She was polite and professional. She made recommendations and had a conversation of reasonable length with Carla. I held on to her name to request her when we visit next time. What set her apart is I observed her with the other three tables around us and she treated everyone the same way. It was refreshing and surprisingly shocking a good way.
The waitress was overwhelmed. We had 50 people in our party and she was pretty much the only person working the group. Not sure why management hung her out to dry like that, the rest of the place was all but empty.
Delicious food, great and personalized service. The atmosphere is so good. The food was excellent and to my satisfaction. Will visit again to try some more dishes.
Our server, Yolanda was amazing! The host or whoever was at the front was awesome too! We had the trio dip as an appetizer and it was good, not great but good. Then we had ceviche and the birria tacos, plus cucumbers w tajin....sooooo good. Our margarita and cantarito was delicious as well. We will be back and will ask for Miss Yolanda.
I really wanted to like this place but the food was not our favorite.
It was better than most the carne asada in many restaurants in San Angelo. Prices are average about 15 each. For a meal that has ri e beans and on this dish had some green beans. Wasn't burnt not undercooked. Charro beans. Choice of tortillas. For three people it was 72 and change with appetizer. Was pleased with good fast yet fresh food. I'd recommend this place for those who enjoy some good tasting Mexican food and great atmosphere. I've been here only three times but has not let me down on quality of food. In the past two years. Maybe. Good place for a romantic yet inexpensive place. Great for couples or family.
I have been there several times. The food is decent, the music on Fridays and some Saturday nights is great. The staff seemed overwhelmed or short staffed. Refills and having someone take our order took way too long. The chips are HORRID. Half the chips in the bowls are so broken that you can't use them. I feel like they are wasting money on those chips. And that's an every time I go experience. But the big issue we had out of everything was a margarita glass ware was broken and had jagged edges. Sopapillas were hard, definitely not worth $8.00. I think the issue with the food is maybe they need to use a different food distributor. Because the beans taste like bland refried beans from a can. The torta I've had before was good but it needed salt.
We had lunch and wasn’t impressed with our meals or the service. Neither of us finished eating our lunch. I had ordered a beer before we ordered our lunch and if arrived with my meal. We asked for more chips and we never got them. The place is nice on the inside so we might try them one more time.
If I was writing this based off food alone, it would be a five star review. Food was amazing, but service was probably the worst I've had anywhere. We had a party of 11, and our waitress was MIA the whole time. The only saving grace was the manager Felipe, who helped out our table with drinks and food, along with nearly every other table, all while seating and greeting customers.
We sat in the restaurant for a good 10 minutes before she came back to use with our drinks. Then we ordered the molletes and it had no refried beans. We waited over two hours for our check and someone else had to get our checks for us. It wasn't even that busy. There were only 5 tables(including us) that were filled. Service seriously needs to improve.
We went to have a nice lunch today, reviews looked a little mixed. So we thought we would try Alejandro's. It is a new building and it looked clean, then I walked on the floor and my shoes stuck to it. We were escorted to our table given our menu and no special of the day or your server with be right with you. Okay, we are not that picky but it gets worse. We ordered our ice teas and started looking at the menu. Decided on the Mexican Plate and a Chile Relleno and I asked if they had a small dinner salad. Yes, they have dinner salads. So here comes lunch, it looked good except the small dinner salad was a full on salad. I explained that's not what I wanted, the waitress said they told her that was what they have, I put it to the side because the what I thought was a hot meal was also being delivered. The Chilli Relleno was cold, cheese not melted, beans cold and rice was also cold. Plate was scorching but food was cold. The Mexican Plate was the same except for the taco which was hot but had a funny taste. Called the waitress over explained the food condition, "I'll tell my Manager". Not let me take your plates and get this fixed for you. Tortillas were very hot so bean & rice burritos. The Mexican Plate was eaten. A take out box for the salad was brought to the table. Teas was offered once beside the original glasses. Food was cold and tasteless. We have guest come to our business and ask for recommendations - Alejandro's will not be one of them.
First of all there smell when you walk in is like some kind of cleaning solution and that's all I smelled the w h Ole time! We were there tonight fir my great nephews birthday. My Sister and I both ordered margaritas but asked if they could do them with Vodka, because we can't tolerate tequila. He said yes. In a little bit he came back and asked if Tito's was ok, yes that's fine. We'll, then he came back in a little bit again and told us the price. At first he said ut would be double the 16oz (we ordered 32oz), so we questioned that, then he said it would be $1 above regular price fir 32oz because of Titos, that means it should have been $19. The tiket came and and it was $10 above price!!!! He said because it was Titos. Even though we questioned it because of what he told us, got no satisfaction!!!!! I don't know when or IF I will EVER go back!!!!!!!
The manager was rude. (It was lunch time so i ordered a grilled chicken salad. )I was served a nasty salad and had to order a new greasy plate and pay for the salad also. The salad had hard and chewy pieces of chicken and store bought lettuce and ranch . Don't bother coming here there is better Mexican food in town.
Our first time visiting and I will most certainly not be returning. After being seated we waiting over five minutes to be greeted. After being greeted and taking our drink order we got our CLOUDY tea in what looked like a dirty glass. They had bloody Mary’s on sale for $5 and it tasted like pure tomato juice. We never received chips/salsa and when we did ask our server she informed us it was extra charge. I believe we saw our server a total three times, she didn’t come by to check on us. When I showed her my ID she called me old. Thank you! The restrooms smell TERRIBLE like straight sewer. Gag!!! So gross. Spent $50 no tip included for breakfast on two people. Do not recommend.
