Seriously my new favorite spot on the Riverwalk. Cocktails were on point and the Jazz band was amazing! Perfect way to wind down after a kaotic night. The wall art was captivating, the restrooms were clean and we didn't have to wait long for service. 10 out of 10!!

River Sun is a great place. The drinks are too pricey and they lack variety in my opinion, but they are only slightly above average for downtown for drink costs. That would be my only complaint, but even that wasn’t too bad at all. Overall we had a great time, and the atmosphere was amazing. The changing colors on the walls was a very nice touch. There are very few places where you can find really good live music in this town, and River Sun is definitely one of them. Get there early though, as there aren’t a lot of tables. That worked out great for my wife and I, since we didn’t want to be in a packed club. It did fill up by the time the music started though.

First time visit. Made reservations ahead of time so no wait. Cozy Jazz Spot with really really good classic jazz. My party of four enjoyed the seats, music, drinks, and ambience.

Our 3rd visit to River Sun and was great once again. We enjoyed live music by Jennifer Espinoza and hope she'll be back. Randy behind the bar continues to impress with his crafty cocktail creations. The team there is very nice and engaging. If you are looking for a gem of a local spot, do yourself a favor and take in the River Sun!

This is my new favorite bar. Say hi to Randy when you check the place out. He is the best bartender I have ever met. his attention to detail is impeccable and his creations are superb. he has really bad jokes but people love him anyways.

Austin is amazing, and perfect to ask what you are looking for in drinks, the mocha is great, but all of our drinks were great. Try the baked goods. We had a pumpkin chocolate chip cookie and it was great. For sure going back.

Was here for a winter solstice event, place was popping Dj spinning music, vendors, great patio seating and they had a mocktail list for the event. Food was amazing. Oh and you have to see the mural painted on the wall!!! Definitely will be back here!

I ordered The Gems and a Lone Star. The presentation was so beautiful of the drink. We sat in the very front and would recommend if you truly love the music. Otherwise sit back a few and enjoy the sounds. Dance floor if you are really feeling it. Highly recommend for the intimacy and as a reminder that the music scene is very much alive in this place. What you won’t get- crowded bar with thirsty pick me ups. No food yet so eat before you go. This place is a nice addition to the underground music scene I love.

Perhaps my most favorite feature of this place is the mural done by local artist, Jag Wired. The mural is colorful, captivating, and properly represents the illuminating energy of River Sun. Check out this out as soon as you can, you won't be disappointed!

A really really cool joint!

Ahhh.... The old 1011. Looks great, smells great, cool vibe, cool staff, cool patrons, nice decor, clearly a lot of effort was put into making this a classy place. R&B band was playing when I went, not jazz, so be ready for whatever. I'll be back. Definitely worth checking out.

We had an amazing evening of jazz, cocktails, cuisine and vibes. It was a private, chef hosted event, however, you could easy pick up the essence of the environment. River Sun is perhaps one the jewels of San Antonio's music scene. I would encourage any jazz enthusiasts to visit and experience what River Sun has to offer.

Have some way to get small bites, even if it's someone to get food from food truck area or allow it in. Have someone take drink orders at tables. Keep the great music flowing. The band was great but there were numerous sound issues for the first 45 minutes of the show. When you pay for a table, you expect the sound to be all worked out before the show begins. The sound engineer was also the door man, so that says a lot.

First impression was slow but it ended nicely! The place is... hmmm... a fairly casual dive bar offering great, live Jazz music. The strong smell of cleaning products hit us in the face as soon as we walked in. So, it took us a minute to recalculate our expectations for our date night. This may not be like the *other* upscale Jazz bar nearby - but once we settled in, ordered our cocktails, and chatted with our server, we found ourselves enjoying the lively atmosphere. The music was fun and fantastic. The service was top notch. The drinks were spot on. Cheers to the friendly staff! It was a little odd that non-customers were walking in from the back door and exiting straight through the front door - right in front of our "premium" seating space. I guess they just cut through from the back/river area? Not that big of a deal but noticeable and a little distracting when it's a group of 4 or 5 people. We'd visit this spot again for the live music and cocktails. It's a good spot to bring friends next time. I'll leave the bowtie at home and let loose! We certainly appreciated the fun evening. My experience was terrible. Treated horribly by the bartender and the so called owner. I could taste the negative vibes in my drinks. The owner is a liar and a thief.

Utter disappointment. I walk my dog regularly along the river and have seen this place under development for some time now. Finally saw that it was open so decided to try it. The sign out by the river said there was vegan food and natural wine so I was excited to try it. The place was empty except two gentlemen who appeared to be employees. One behind what appeared to be a bar but was empty. I asked for a menu for which they held up a chalkboard to show me the food but followed with the fact that there was no food today even though the sign out front said otherwise. They mentioned the bar inside was open so I started walking in and they quickly stopped me to tell me that dogs aren't allowed. I wasn't able to try the food or drinks. I assume the owners are new to the service industry and don't really know how to properly provide a service and attract business.
