What a nice surprise! The Rio Soul Latin Jazz Orchestra was phenomenal! If you have a pure appreciation for Latin rhythms, this is your band. All the musicians are incredibly talented and professional. The staff was very attentive but realize they are working hard to maintain a service standard. It’s small, cozy and exactly the place I needed to listen to some amazing tunes many of which felt carefully orchestrated by the band. As for the staff, Tony was so kind and Diego was so informative. I ordered The Gems and a Lone Star. The presentation was so beautiful of the drink. We sat in the very front and would recommend if you truly love the music. Otherwise sit back a few and enjoy the sounds. Dance floor if you are really feeling it. Highly recommend for the intimacy and as a reminder that the music scene is very much alive in this place. What you won’t get- crowded bar with thirsty pick me ups. No food yet so eat before you go. This place is a nice addition to the underground music scene I love.

Our first time at River Sun and it did not disappoint! We saw the debut of RIO SOUL Latin Jazz Orchestra. We had an amazing time! We will definitely be back! The cocktails were amazing! They do not serve food, but that is coming soon.

The Mid-Watch

What a great place! If you love a chill vibe surrounded by a relaxed atmosphere and wonderful music (who don't), this place is for you. It's not exactly a listening room, but it's an environment that is respectful to the musicians! I give these guys a standing ovation on service and commitment to keeping live music going in our community. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. There is plenty of parking nearby! Although there is plenty of space, seating is limited, so get there early.

Perfect for dates and solo chill nights. Different bands and singers throughout the month makes it a perfect little place to relax and be entertained. The drinks are 10/10!

What a great place! It was our first time, it's a little hidden but worht a stop in. I recommend reserving a table, it's $16.00 per person but it's nice to sit down and vibe with the music. Can't wait to go back!

This is one of my favorite new spots in San Antonio!! Beautifully tucked along the San Antonio River in the Museum Reach, River Sun is a true gem in our city. They have jazz music on Fridays and Saturdays that show a number of talented musicians. The bartenders and doorman are incredibly welcoming and professional. I encourage you not settle for a typical mixed drink, but to try a creation of the talented bartenders' choice. Perhaps my most favorite feature of this place is the mural done by local artist, Jag Wired. The mural is colorful, captivating, and properly represents the illuminating energy of River Sun. Check out this out as soon as you can, you won't be disappointed!

Loveeeeee this cool jazz bar! We found it merely by walking around after dinner. The door was open so the jazz music was flowing out and drawing us in. We opted to sit at the bar and the bartenders were very kind. I had a really nice glass of wine! They also have a patio space at the back that faces the river walk. Decent amount of seating inside. A really really cool joint!

Cute little place you can tell that they haven’t been open for that long. They didn’t have a food menu. They only really serve cocktails. The amplifier system wasn’t the best, but the musicians were amazing.

Ahhh.... The old 1011. Looks great, smells great, cool vibe, cool staff, cool patrons, nice decor, clearly a lot of effort was put into making this a classy place. R&B band was playing when I went, not jazz, so be ready for whatever. I'll be back. Definitely worth checking out.

Laid back, great drink options with a creative atmosphere on the museum river reach. Bring your friends including your pets. This is a cruelty free space where you can let go as reflected by the simple but creative menu. This place has good Juju having been gutted to gorgeous with happy vibes.
