Southerleigh San Antonio Reviews
Superb cocktails and excellent bartenders! I only intended to have one drink here and not stay at the bar for long, but the bartenders were knowledgeable and passionate about their concoctions and it was nice to sit and relax. They also have a few Christmas cocktails on the menu and you’re looking to be festive!
Great bar staff! Great at mixing. Old fashion was spot on and prickly pear margarita is refreshing. Stop by to find out why!
An “A” for having something creative and it tasting good. Both the bartenders were very nice. The drinks were made quickly and most importantly were delish.
I love this bar! Star was the best bartender ever. She let me sample the beers so I didn’t buy anything I didn’t like and was really knowledgeable about the stuff they had on hand. I think the best part was all of her recommendations for places to eat around San Antonio. I’ll definitely be back to see her and all of her coworkers if they’re as good a bartender as she was :)
Came here for the first time on a weekend and the service was amazing! Daniel in particular was super nice and our drinks came out great that he made! All the other bartenders also seemed really nice and friendly. Will definitely come back!
Jose A is the best bartender ever, super fast and friendly service, drinks are yummy. Very knowledgeable of the drink menu with great suggestions. Looking forward to having another fruit snacks and hanging out at his bar again soon.
Stopped by last Saturday for a quick bite to eat and decided to grab a drink, was helped by Angelica. She was incredibly knowledgeable and made some really good recommendations on what to get. Fantastic service from Angelica and very tasty drinks, I will be recommending to friends and family and returning again 11/10
This bar is perfectly placed in the food hall at the Pearl. Lots of variety in the restaurants and quick bites close by. It’s nice because you can grab a slice of pizza and eat it outside to people watch or sit at the Park bar. Daniel was my bartender and despite it being a little busy he didn’t make me feel rushed and even had suggestions for drinks I’ve never tried! Thank you for your patience, Daniel! Looking forward to my next Frosé!
Always great energy behind the bar. Bartender Daniel has exceptional service. He is a hard worker and knows his craft well offering great suggestions. All in all, beautiful atmosphere and people!
Love the unique cocktails at Park Bar. Daniel made our visit even more fun, such a great personality and amazing spokesperson for all there is to do at The Pearl. Great drinks. Great service!
Stopped by this place while on a business trip and it’s absolutely wonderful. I was served by Daniel who made me a wonderful cocktail and answered my questions I had about the pearl and told me about the many establishments around. It’s nice to sit outside with my cocktail and just taking in the atmosphere of the Pearl. Would love to come back next time I’m in town
Star & Miranda & Jose & Matt & Daniel made my life complete I have never had such amazing service in my life. Thank you park bar for hiring such go getters who will go above & beyond to make their customers feel heard & safe.
Came here over the weekend and and let me tell you, if you are looking for a place that treats you well and offers great service...this is the place!. We had Jose B. & Jose A. as our servers and they did an excellent job. The mixed drinks were super delicious and the beer was ice cold.
The Historic Pearl's Food Hall at Bottling, otherwise known as the Bottling Department Food Hall, which includes Park Bar, is an excellent space to grab a drink + take a break from the Texas heat as you are exploring the Pearl! :-) The space is really beautifully curated, and there is lots of seating!! Pearl's Food Hall, generally, is very clean & well-kept, making it all the more inviting! My first visit to Park Bar occurred on a Monday afternoon (during a holiday) with my boyfriend, and we had no trouble getting a table after placing our drink orders. They have a variety of options at Park Bar (e.g. my boyfriend ordered a lager, and I kept it simple with a fountain soda). I'm looking forward to returning to try some of their cocktails + seasonal offerings!
Favorite market bar in my book is the infamous park bar! All of the bartenders are amazing! Daniel, one of my faves, always makes you feel special and welcome and the best part always having a smile on his face! Jose and Jose, Miranda and Star Are so fun to be around and great bartenders as well! Again, one of my favorite things at the Pearl is walking into the food hall and being greeted by my bartenders!! 🍹 Thank you, Park Bar for hiring such a great staff!
If you’re ever at Park Bar, do yourself a favor and ask for Daniel! They absolutely crush it behind the bar — even with the crazy crowds and fast-paced environment, they stay cool, friendly, and incredibly efficient. Drinks come out quick and perfect every time. You can tell they genuinely care about the customer experience, and their hustle is unmatched. One of the best bartenders I’ve ever seen in action!
The bartenders were friendly and helpful. The drinks were delicious and sitting on the lawn was perfect 👌
Brunch at Southerleigh absolutely lived up to the hype. This spot is Michelin recognized and you can really taste the care and intention behind every dish. We started with the cinnamon roll for our appetizer, and wow! It soft, fluffy, and perfectly indulgent. The cream cheese icing paired with the caramel was rich without being overwhelming. Easily one of those “I’m thinking about it days later” pastries. The country sausage hash was hearty and comforting in the best way. The Pork sausage had great flavor, the red potatoes were crispy, and the poached egg tied everything together beautifully. A well balanced dish that felt elevated but still classic brunch comfort. The traditional Benedict was a standout. Perfectly cooked Canadian bacon, a smooth and flavorful hollandaise. The fried red potatoes on the side were crispy and seasoned just right. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, service was attentive, and the food presentation was beautiful (photos don’t lie). If you’re brunching at the Pearl, Southerleigh is absolutely worth the stop. I’d happily come back to try more of the menu.
Our first time here was during the month of December because I saw an ad on Instagram that they have Oysters on Sundays for the month 👀🦪💕 We asked for an outdoor searing and it was a perfect weather with people passing by at The Pearl, so you can do people watching. Service was great even though they were busy, and food and wine were great!
An incredible meal in San Antonio. Very much worth of their Michelin Bib Gourmand award! Service was friendly, warm, and definitely southern (we're from NY). Our waitress was lovely and seemed very enthusiastic to help us enjoy our evening. Drinks were unique and delicious. I also enjoyed their beer on tap. Food was really solid. I'm going to have to say one of the best deviled eggs we've had! Loved the tuna and tomato tartar as well. We had eaten a lot earlier in the day and settled on a chocolate tart for dessert with no entree. It was incredible too. Was very happy to have found this place online and made a reservation before coming to San Antonio. I would highly recommend it if you enjoy food without it being too stuffy.
Great little place in the Pearl! Service left something to be desired the day we visited, but food was tasty. Would go back again for brunch. Fried green tomatoes were delicious. The only thing we found odd was that they served us a fried leg quarter with the waffle instead of a chicken breast. Weird. But the chicken sandwich was good and the fresh squeezed OJ hit the spot.
We had an amazing experience at Southerleigh at the Pearl! The fried chicken plate was perfectly crispy and juicy, the cornbread was warm and buttery, and the whipped potatoes were so smooth and flavorful. Everything was served fresh and full of Southern comfort goodness. Definitely a must-try spot in San Antonio! 🍗🥔🍞
My Second Michelin Star Experience: Met All Expectations! I recently had my second Michelin-starred restaurant experience, and it absolutely met all my expectations. The restaurant's atmosphere was quite distinctive and impressive; you immediately feel special inside. The high standard was maintained in the service as well. Our waiter was extremely attentive and cheerful, which made the whole experience much more enjoyable. One often assumes that portions at Michelin restaurants are small, but that was not the case here. The food portions were adequate and quite satisfying. Most importantly, the flavours were truly spot on. Every single plate reflected the quality of the ingredients and the care put into the cuisine. In short, it was an unforgettable experience and worth every
We stopped here on a Monday afternoon (yesterday) for a late lunch with 20 people. They were so accommodating (even though we were road tripping, looked like it, and had several children with us). Our server was amazing. So kind, so enthusiastic, truly loved her job and it showed. Every single foot item we ordered was amazing. All of our drinks were delicious. Food we ate Fried chicken & biscuits Cracker crusted redfish Fish sandwich Pork chop Snapper jaws Cornbread Texas trio oysters Brussels Broccolini Crab Mac & cheese Cesar salad 10/10 highly recommend. We will be back. Thank you for an amazing lunch.
We had an excellent meal here. We enjoyed the fried chicken and hanger steak with Chimichurri sauce. The mashed potatoes, jalapeño grits, and broccolini were nice accompaniments. For appetizers, we ordered the corn bread, wood-fired pretzel, and warm carrot ginger soup. We liked the soup and dipping sauce for the pretzel the best. Our service was attentive. We highly recommend this restaurant. It's located in a quaint spot that offers a welcoming outdoor space.
It's a bar in a food court (at Pearl). Service was great and offered recommendations on local beers and signature cocktails. Order inside or outside... sit outside and people watch. Good times!
The staff wasbsuper friendly and they were very accommodating. I got a simple breakfast plate which was good but the potatoes were meh. The chicken and waffles was fantastic. That chicken had a wonderful flavor and paired so good with the waffle. We did order the fried green tomatoes because of the movie, and sweet Odins beard. These were so good. I truly feel that it was the best thing on our table. I would order these again in a heart beat. Overall the food was good and the staff was better, and the beer was really good. Its a shame I cant buy it down here where I live.
We had the pork chop, crab bisque, cornbread and old fashions. Corn bread was a little burned but they replaced it with another. Bisque was great though a little salty. Pork was tender, German potato salad good. Service was good, waited about 20 minutes for table, but lots to see as we walked around the Pearl. Inside and outside seating, both a little noisy. Fun decor.
Had a good time here for lunch on a Friday. Our server was friendly and provided great recommendations. We had the cornbread, a salad with fried chicken and the fried chicken plate. The cornbread was soft but a bit too crumbly - couldnt pick it up. The salad’s freshness and flavor paired perfectly with the chicken and the fried chicken was super juicy. Wish it had a better crunch, but overall tasted good!
Was looking for a place to go with a large party to get the San Antonio experience and came across this place. From other reviews it appeared to be good food and decent prices, so we gave it a shot. We were seated quickly, place was beautiful and the vibe was great. We tried the beer flight which I definitely recommend. The rest of the food was good, however service was lacking a bit as there were drinks sitting empty, one drink was wrong and didn’t get switched until the end of the meal and members of our party waited for parts of their order for a bit before they could eat.
Everything (food, atmosphere, and ambience) looks great. Michelin recommends, but I wouldn’t. Early brunch service (11:15) Coffee took a few minutes. Service was quite slow for brunch. One of our two plates was served ‘warm’ not hot. Scrambled eggs served unseasoned. (No salt or pepper was offered, none on any tables) Biscuits LOOK amazing, had to ask, and wait for cold butter to put on cold biscuits. Bone in Fried chicken was good, waffle was average… 1/2 way through the chicken and the waffle was a soggy smushed mess. We saw two other tables send food back during our hour and thirty brunch. Noise levels for me (with hearing aids) was harsh.
First meal in San Antonio - had a hazy IPA to start which was really good. The food was kind of standard but not bad. Our favorite was the Snapper Throats - the fish was tender and perfectly crispy on the outside. Overall, a decent first meal. Vibe is fun and love the brewery decor. Service was excellent!
The fish sandwich was of a poor quality. Flounder is not a fresh fish to serve and that should have been a warning to us. However, the appearance of the restaurant gave off good food vibes. So we wanted to give it a try on our special day-->Mommy and Daughter lunch date. My daughter and I choose the same lunch selection, a beer battered fish sandwich and a side of brocolini to share. The sandwich had no taste and fell apart when we tried to eat it. The sandwich was also very oily and the bread was stale. The brocolini, although seasoned well, arrived very under cooked. The outcome of the food left us very disappointed. The food was not good. We will not return, as the food was overly priced for what was served. The only thing we did like was the water, which was very nice and perfectly chilled.
The first time I came here, the cocktails were amazing – the female bartender really knew how to make a great drink, and that’s what made me want to come back. Unfortunately, the second time was very disappointing. The male bartender’s cocktails tasted like plain water and completely ruined the experience for me. The photo I’m attaching shows the first, really good cocktails.
This margarita experience was incredibly disappointing, especially given the price. I was surprised to see the bartender using a pre-made mix, and even worse, they didn't even bother to shake the drink. To top it off, I watched them pour a pre-made margarita that had been sitting out into a fresh cup. This is not at all what I'd expect for the cost.
