Easily the best empanadas in the mission. I suggest ordering the vegan and the classic, then eat both back-to-back. I promise you will be astounded by the meaty and robust flavor of the vegan. Some might balk at the price, but it is well worth it. For a comparable empanada try Nuchas.

Pino and Merken empanadas are the best. They could use more filling. The cheese empanadas were dry and didn’t have enough cheese. Who uses cheddar cheese to make empanadas?

The BEST and ONLY true Chilean empanadas in San Francisco! Having a Chile Lindo empanada is like being transported to Chile! ❤️🇨🇱

I’m Chilean, and I can vouch this place has legit authentic Chilean empanadas. I’m so happy this place is here! Eating their empanadas brought me back to my college days in Chile, eating the empanadas sold by “tio chaparra” while running to my next lecture.

Want a good empanada? Go here, the owner has been refining this recipe for years and years. It's not much seating, just some bar stools outside the window. They can make it to go or for catering.

Authentic Chilean empanadas. One of the only Chilean places in SF and it did not disappoint.

I have always been out looking for the best empanadas. Since trying their vegan empanada, I’ve stopped looking. Looking forward to their new location on Valencia.

I had the best Chilean empanadas ever in USA. I had the pino (beef) and it was very similar to empanadas I had in Chile. Very recommended to try empanadas and enjoy a coffee on a warm day.

BEST EMPANADAS IN THE CITY OF SF! 7.50 may be quite a bit for an empanada but it is the best ingredients and it is clear when you eat it. ....... enough cant be said about these. amazing

B

Delicious! I'm not an expert in Chilean cuisine, but the freshly-toasted vegan empanada hit the spot and the barstool seating was really convenient

An empanada window in the Mission district. Stop by for a snack while you're out enjoying the city. There are 5 stools to sit on outside, so plan on walking while eating if it's busy.

Ahhh Empanadas, Chile’s National food. A mouth watering savory party tucked into a hearty soft and crunchy on the edges pastry pocket. Been going to Chile Lindo for over 20 yrs. Visited Chile several times - went to almost every Empanaderia I saw cuz I’m a little obsessed. Chile Lindo’s Empanadas are authentic. Just as good as the ones I had in Chile and better than some. These are large Empanadas and one is definitely a meal…..but we often have two only because we can’t control ourselves. Our favorite is the classic Pino, a very savory seasoned beef w/ a black olive and hard boiled egg. The Merken spicy beef is a close second. Make sure you order the Pebre- Chilean mild salsa- and pour a little in your Empanada with each bite. Wash it down with a classic Coke or San Pellegrino. Follow up with some Alfajores- Sandwich cookie w/ Manjar (Dulce de Leche) in between. Drool. getting hungry now. Paula the owner is an authentic Chilean host, welcoming, super friendly, and fun. Now go there and get me some please.

Amazing food!! Owner is very engaging with customers. Lots of varieties to choose from. I'm a vegetarian and they had vegetarian & vegan options for empanadas. Yummy & Scrumptious - I can tell lots of love & TLC is put into making the food choices. Two Thumbs Up 👍👍🔥❤

Chile Lindo is still here!!! We found it across the street from its old spot. So glad this grand Mission establishment is still here. Incredible Chilean empanadas and tasty treats!

Really amazing little gem of a place. Just off the 16th St. BART, Paula has built this delightful little hole in the wall to serve some of the better empanadas I've ever encountered. She's been doing this a long time, and has a really nice thing going here. The empanadas are fantastic. I haven't tried the other offerings here yet, but they also look really solid. Great spot to drop by if you're ever in the neighborhood. Delightful service and excellent food.

Paula vibrantly welcomes everyone who approaches Chile Lindo. All of the empanadas are excellent, but I particularly love the merkén empanada. For anyone in need of a little Chilean culture and food, this is the place to go!

I have been looking for Chilean style empanadas since 1980 when I was there. These are the real deal! They have the classic pino which is the traditional style I knew when it as there as a kid, they also have other variations (which I haven't tried yet). They also have the torta de mil hojas dessert/cake that is so unique to chile (though I confess that their version looks very different from my memories of that terrific dessert). I'm now working on finding a way to have them shipped to me since I live out of the area.

If you are Chilean or want to try a empanada that taste just like being in Chile this is the place. As soon as you open the door you can feel like you are in a Fonda and it’s 18 de septiembre. The owner is so nice and she makes your experience even more close to Chile 🇨🇱. ¡Viva Chile!

Love this place. Not from the area, was visiting SF, while walking the street Tuesday night, I heard jazz music ..so walked in, a band was playing live. Lovely crowd, authentic homemade food, music, beer and wine.

The empanadas are absolutely delicious! Service was amazing too had lovely conversation with the person working there. It was really nice to see foods from my families home country cooked and prepared just how i remember growing up. Tastes just as good too! We had gotten the pinto empanadas right before it had closed but we will definitely be coming back for more!

The best hole in the wall spot in San Francisco. It's a small restaurant serving empanadas with unusual ingredients (if you're not Chilean), such as hard boiled egg, raisins, and olive. Anyone who lives in the Bay Area should come here at least once.

These are legitimate Chilean empanadas. Not the deep-fried stuff from Argentina, but the real oven-baked empanada with organic beef from Marin County, olives, raisins and onions. Delicious!! Paula, the owner, is meticulous about ingredients and quality. And she’s super fun to talk with if you find her at her store location. Don’t be deterred by the location - this is high quality stuff. We’re huge fans!!

love stopping here for a chicken empanada after yoga. Chicken and the vegetarian option are my go to. You have to have cash. One will leave you wanting more.

M

Cash only. Ordered: Chilanga - cheese and jalapeno For $7.50 is a little steep in my opinion...granted it is a decent sized empanada. I have never been to Chile nor have I had an authentic Chilean empanada...so I can't verify the authenticity. But it was cooked on the spot, and it was so gooey and fresh. The order takes about 5 minutes to prepare and you can be on your merry way snacking at the bar or taking it to go.

B
Brian

The empanadas where good but expensive, and the woman there had an attitude. There is no seating, which caused me to drop the tiny salsa they gave, and they wouldn't give me an extra one unless I paid for it... It's a shame because I think this place could really take off but they seem to lack the ability to run a business and put the customer first.

L
Libby Cummings

I think $7.50 is a LOT to pay for one relatively-small empanada. I got the cheese one and it was just okay. Next time I'm spending $5 on a burrito instead.

M
Mike Rivas

Went on a Monday and placed my order. Service was quick and was out within 5 munutes. First time having had a Chilean empanada (pino). It was a nice treat.

Doughy, underfilled empanadas for $8 apiece. No joke, you can get better empanadas in the Miami airport than this place. I see a lot of other positive reviews, so I'm not sure what's up...bad experience for me though.

F

Need to improve empanadas, not enough pino, too much dough. Add more charge more that’s fine. 2-3 empanadas hit the spot. Not enough Chilean experience.

Rude customer service. Food was dried out it seemed. Cost too much. The 2 stars were for the cold soda. Had bettee ones at an Argentinian place on Valencia St.

This was a disappointing meal. For $7.50 I got an artisanal Chilean chicken empanada. Cool. However, the portion size was far too small and, except for the hardboiled egg inside (a very nice touch), it had the exact same taste as a Banquet chicken pot pie. Two stars for the egg and because Banquet chicken pot pies are tasty af

Having spent many months in Argentina, I have to say, do not waste your money. I paid $7.50 for a Pino. The crust is dry n fillings miserable. You are basically eating dry dough. It's a super overpriced bite size snack !!

They only open a few days a week for limited time. Empanadas are 8 dollars and it was very disappointing to see that they had already ran out of empanadas by 1 pm. I expect better

This place is not truly authentic. Very disappointed. All the empanadas except for the Empanada de Pino had jalapeño.drove an hour to be disappointed.
