Lark San Francisco Reviews
October 2025: Stopped by on a Friday night to watch the world series game 6. The bar is quite nice and low key. Bartenders were nice. We had a small group and found a table with stools that had a good view of the TVs. Good henhouse hazy IPA! You can order pizza from joyride pizza next door and they'll bring it over to you. Good Detroit style 🍕! Would come back again for more drinks and pizza 🍕!
Had a great time here after dinner, both bartenders were kind and make us tasty cocktails, pizza we were allow to order from near by store were also good. We will be back
This is a cool bar with my favorite Irish coffee in town...or really anywhere I've been so far in the country. Oddly the other one was at Arclight theaters in Manhattan Beach when it was still around. Great bartenders, solid drinks and you may encounter an awesome cockatoo named Casper.
I was always a fan of this place, and its new location at 685 Market is a solid upgrade. It still has the same welcoming, no nonsense vibe but a bigger better space. Beers are cold, bartenders are friendly, Guinness is fresh and clean. If Anthony Bourdain was still around and visited this place, he would have said come and grab a pint here at 4pm, strike up a chat with someone you wouldn’t normally speak with, and enjoy the ride
Caveat foreign visitors review After walking around the Marriott Marquis area I must say this is a hidden Jem. Plenty of pretentious bars and clubs in this area. But The Lark a straight forward sports bar (even have cocktails I saw at least 4 expresso martinis being drunk whilst there) which keeps things simple and get the good things right. Local beers and nice bar staff who are more than happy to share advice about the area. By the time I left this place was packed with a good buzz
If you're looking for a nice glass of whiskey on a chill evening this is the place! Outdoor seating right now is perfect with heaters above every table which was REALLY nice considering the requirement for all restaurants to have all their doors open making it regularly cold. They have a nice selection of various whiskey flights for a reasonable. Highly recommend this spot!
Nice little sport bar that is not too crowded or too noisy. Nice drinks, love them all.
Popped in here to watch the 2nd Giants vs Pirates ball game. A nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and multiple games playing. Some cool memorabilia on the walls, and a Canadian canoe on the ceiling.

This place has some seriously phenomenal Detroit style pizza and great local drafts. And Berto is the man.
Always a reasonable price for great drinks at the Lark. Fast and friendly service as well!
Kevin is a great bartender. Hope they’re here next time I come back. Chill environment and chill crew.
100/10. The bartender are amazing. The ceasar salad was suprisenly great, even came with a side of pesto made with capers and anchovies. 49s bar. Lively. Outside area. Highly recommend 👌
Great low-key spot to catch a game. Solid draught list and cocktails, super friendly staff. They don't have a kitchen but will order Joyride Pizza from next door and put it on your tab!
Thank you for being so welcoming. It was a relief to find a bar close to our hotel. Cheers to you, Mr Brit 49er & Mrs 🐻 (Taco Truck, no lime, and Cali Squeeze)

Places like this remind me of how great San Francisco has always been. The location, the staff, the quality of product and service is everything you look for when going out or even making repeat stops if you're a local in the area. Dropped in for a Bette's pop-up to get an amazing chicken parm sandwich. The food was fantastic and fresh. It was great sitting outside in their nicely fenced in patio area while enjoying Glow SF on the side of a historical building on a chilly night with many patrons who filled up on a typical festive Saturday night out. It felt safe, bartenders were a plenty and ready-to-serve. It was super clean and the vibes were chill and happy. Come check this place out if you haven't and are in the area. Great for a date, groups, after work shindigs or whatever.j

Quaint little bar. Close to the convention center and union square. Seems like a good spot for post-work drinks/Happy Hour. Bartender was friendly. The Old Fashioned I had was above average. I had 2 and unfortunately varied in taste a bit (1 was a bit sweeter than the other and the other was definitely more bitter than most).
What a great bar. Super friendly bar tenders, great drinks and a warm and inviting atmosphere. No food available here but you can bring in what ever you like.
This isn't really the place for food, but the vibe is good, the staff is helpful and attentive even when the place is busy. You can order some food and it will come from a spot a few doors down on the block... Takes a while. Drinks and the crowd is the drae for this spot!

Attentive bartenders, good prices. Edit: Stopped by The Lark Bar and wasn’t greeted at all. I sat at the bar for a while without acknowledgment, while other guests who arrived after me were immediately greeted and served drinks. The service clearly depends on which bartender is working—some are attentive, others not so much. Disappointing experience overall on this trip.
Y’all, I have a few of problems with this spot. Please read them and make sure that you check your credit card statement and the credit card that is returned to you. I visited with 4 friends and we each got a drink. Very easy, very basic. I’m not drinking right now but my wife had a white wine. I checked my credit card statements and saw that $14 white wine showed up as $26. My other friends were less fortunate because the bartender gave their card to the wrong group. So not only did they charge the wrong amount to the wrong card. They also lost their card. Lastly, we all witnessed the bartender take shots from behind the bar while working. While I can imagine they have a healthy tolerance I have to assume this was one of the many reasons our group had these major issues with a simple order.
People working here are the rudest I’ve ever encountered in the hospitality industry. Hostile and aggressive bouncer at the door and the rudest bartenders who shout at you and make you feel like you’re bothering them. The bouncer made me so uncomfortable with his refusal to speak and his aggressive pointing at a sign I couldn’t see and when I asked him to explain in words, he became so hostile. I left and he pursued me down the sidewalk shouting at me. I honestly felt scared. Loathe this place. Goes down as the worst place I’ve ever been for a drink, which, I never had during the entire evening.

One thing that I will always highlight in a bar is any type of bias of inequality. First Thursday in the city. It’s busy, understandably so. I’m standing by behind a patron at the bar. The bartender (Kelsy) is being blissfully ignorant, it appeared. Yet, more people come in and she gestures to ask “what can I get you?”. So I proceed to wave at her and she makes a face as in like, “I see you but whatever” and proceeds to serve others after the fact. The blatant disregard is unacceptable. And I truly think there some bias in how she reacted. In an establishment, all patrons should be treated equally. Don’t ever disregard someone, unless they were being disrespectful first. I’ve been here before when there’s nobody in the bar and she’s acted differently, so what’s the change now? On the other hand, the other lady (yellow shirt, glasses) was great!
