Tip: Don't take pupusas to go, the texture is best when eaten fresh at the restaurant. Consider visiting between 16th and Rondell, where there is a park garage for easier parking.

Panchitas San Francisco Reviews
You HAVE to try the pupuserías they’re unbelievable!! We got beef, garlic and mushroom and jalapeño and spicy sausage! We will definitely be back! Service was also brilliant!
Looking for authentic Salvadoran cuisine? This is the place. The prices are outstanding, and the service is impeccable, warm, courteous, and genuinely welcoming. While it seems they already have plenty of loyal customers, I can’t help but highly recommend this hidden gem in San Francisco.
Wow… This food is so good I can’t believe it. Like so good, I had to stop myself while eating so I could have leftovers for tomorrow and enjoy it a second time. I’m so excited to eat it again. Wow 😋. The atmosphere was lively, and busy. The people working there were so kind!
Visited twice in one trip. Hands down the best pupusas I've ever had. The texture of the flour was done right with just enough crunch. The fillings were generous. We ordered the combo plate which included 2 pupusas and the second order was beef ribs. Both were delicious in their own way. Great for celiacs. Everything is made from rice or corn flour. I'll definitely be back next time I'm up here.
An exceptional pupusa. I’ve tried many others and nothing comes close to Panchitas. Don’t take to go! The edges are ever so slightly crisp with delicious cheese and the cortido and salsa make a perfect pairing. If you take it to go, the cheese has time to cool down and the steam worsens the texture. Still tasty but not as perfect. Highly recommend for anyone living or visiting San Francisco. Can get busy late at night on a weekend but for good reason.
Amazing food, amazing service. I don’t eat dairy so I ordered combo 2, pork + pork/beans pupusas and they were delicious! I recommend the pork one. I wish they had one with just chicken. I’ll be back next year hehehe My husband eats cheese and he said that beef + pork with cheese were wonderful as well. Super fast service. Bathroom needs a bit more regular cleaning but I understand
We tried this place on Halloween night when the line was around the block and not only was the food amazing but the service was great and the staff handled the nonstop orders incredibly well. The food came out pretty quickly despite crowds of people and long lines all night. Great food and service, thank you!!
Delicious. I am a long time customer and I went vegan a few years ago and they started offering vegan options which is fantastic. No impact on the quality for our meat eating friends 🤗. I really enjoyed the soyrizo it was a little spicy which I loved but also the other two vegan options were delicious. Staff were kind and helpful and plenty of cabbage and salsa. Open late with options for everyone. Please don’t gentrify panchitas. ❤️
A friend introduced me to Panchita's, and now it's my absolute go-to! My usual order is the beans and Mexican pupusa, with a side of platanos. It's so filling and incredibly pocket-friendly, which is a huge plus. Another bonus is its convenient location near several bus stops, making it super accessible. Highly recommend checking it out!
Oh my god! This place is amazing. The food is phenomenal and one of the cheapest restaurants in san francisco with such great food. Me and my friend ordered two pupusas with rice flour, yucca fries, empanadas. The chicken pupusa which I had was very delicious and had good amount of chicken filling inside, paired with the hot sauce and coleslaw, it was heart filling. I loved how crispy the rice flour was. The yucca fries were good but we had to add some sauce and pepper for our taste buds. Empanadas were perfectly cooked and so soft and sweet inside. Our food came within 20 mins on a busy Sunday afternoon. Must visit!
My friends highly recommended this place to me, and I tried it for the first time today. It definitely met my expectations. Their combo menus are best-sellers and they are really satisfying. You can choose your own meat, which is great. The food was delicious. One of their most popular menu items is the mushroom garlic, but I didn't try it because I don't like mushrooms. Just something to keep in mind!
The food was fantastic! I really loved the vibe of the interior, too. Plus, you can sometimes catch a live mariachi band playing!
First time trying pupusa's and they did not disappoint. Its a basic, self-serve place, with lines that can get long especially on weekend nights. Friday evening had us waiting for about 10 mins in line to place our order. As an indian, it is hard to not draw a parallel to a cheese-stuffed paratha, but with a twist. Glad to see that they have plentiful veg and non-veg stuffing options. I tried the mushroom-garlic pupusa, the chicken pupusa, and the pollo en salsa roja (chicken breast curry style in a thick tomato sauce). The combo plates come with slaw and cream/guac or fried plantains. There is also a dessert with fried plantains and cinnamon, which was unique. All the food was great, although a little mild for my palette (I asked them for alot of jalapenos on the side since they don't have a hot sauce). Also, its open till 2am and would make for great late-night grub food.
Nice/tasty pupusas, however long wait for one combo plate 30+ mins. It was pretty busy so we understand the wait can be long, but there was a situation where there were several tables of people who came in & placed in their food orders (for multiple plates) after us, but they got their food much before us. Also, while the pupusas were flavorful/tasty, they & the rest of the food on our plate were relatively lukewarm when we got them.
The food is delicious, I really like the garlic and mushroom papusa. I’ve been here a few times and the food is consistently good. They are always busy so prep for a line. Tonight I spilled my drink while waiting for takeout. I’d only taken a few sips and I felt really bad. I asked if they would replace it for me and they said no which I thought was really weird.
Was very busy Saturday. Quality was good before, tasted like fast food, not fresh, sat to long before being served. Cold
