The European San Francisco Reviews
I had an awesome time at The European Bar and Lounge! The atmosphere was sleek and cozy, with a modern yet welcoming neighborhood feel. The drinks were spot on, and the food was fantastic. I sat at the bar and Andy, the bartender, took great care of me. He was super friendly and gave me some great tips about San Francisco. Definitely recommend checking this spot out!

Haniel and Orlando were great! They even remembered us the next time we came in. We were there for happy hour and they had good drink options. They were busy but still took the time to chat. Hard workers and very pleasant! Definitely will be back on our next trip.
Haniel and Orlanda were great. We stopped by every evening during our visit to SF mostly because od these guys. Great happy hour drinks. Truffle fries were very good as was the Old Fashion.
This place is amazing! Alejandro makes the best drinks. I'm not sure what he sprinkles in the drinks but it brings the 'happiness' out and about. We had a blast; for sure if you DON'T like fun don't stop by here cause you will be disappointed. Coming back for sure! Don't say pataw-toe!
where to start. A not crowded hotel bar with amazing service is a good place to start. The food comes from the tapas bar across the lobby and so is better than your average bar food. The drinks are good but the old fashioned is truly inspired. Not too sweet...just 100% yum. Can't wait to go back and do it again.
This brand new bar that's underneath the Warwick Hotel is something else. There's a great selection of cocktails and the food's delicious. My favorite drink is the violet fizz, which not only taste amazing but has a fun presentation that goes along with it. I also really enjoyed their burger, but it's more fun to get things that can be shared here. While the price is a little bit on the expensive side, you are definitely getting what you pay for. FUN FACT: You can also order some things from Aveline, which makes this a great place to grab dessert!
A bar is measured by what selection of licor and the bartender! Both amazing! Good selection! The bartender just always talking to us and being with us! Love the experience!
What a great find! We were waiting for some friends at the Warwick so we popped in to The European. The bartender was super chill yet very customer-service oriented. We ended up having a lemon drop (one of the best I've ever had) and a mojito. That mojito was downright perfect. I highly recommend this bar!
The European is an exercise in contemporary pomp. Nestled into a low-lit lounge in the elegant Warwick hotel on Geary street, The European delivers whimsical cocktails and experimental evolutions on traditional bar food. The "googie" for example can be ordered with the brisket burger and is a soft-boiled egg topped with a hollandaise foam. It is meant to be a dipping sauce for the crisp fries which accompany the burger but many diners have been known to pour the creamy egg right onto the patty. There is also a cocktail called the Violet Fizz with a surprise that I won't ruin for you here.
What an awesome find near union square! Ambiance is great and drinks are good. It's not often over crowded so it's a good bar to be able to actually have a conversation in.

Hit this place on a slow night (I hope). Bartender was happy to have a customer! I'm a big fan of the St. George gin from Alameda. Good pour. Bacon wrapped dates and meatballs were delicious.
Extremely nice and pleasing environment, a little tiny but that gives charm to the place. The ambiance is very sweet and nice. They just don’t seem to be used to customers asking for coffee instead of alcoholic beverages but it’s fine :)

Get the best bang for your buck during their amazing happy hour. The drinks were awesome - loved the bee sting. The food was even better, surprisingly. The cheese board left us wanting more and the lamb chops were juicy and so succulent that we had to order more. The service was good and the setting is perfect for couples or groups. Really beautiful bar.

Superb food preparation. Service was pretty slow during happy hour and it wasn’t particularly busy. Drink & HH food menu could use a facelift. We ended up ignoring the HH options for the most part. Decor is really nice with the theme but would have liked some actual European music rather than the basic rap that I can find everywhere else.

Out waitress was very nice, but the service was slow, food, no napkins or silverware, order a bottle of wine, never arrived. None the less, a descent spot if you want a quiet place to conversate.

Horrible x2 experience … please diversify your bar staff. No matter how you slice or dice your establishment is in tenderloin! Black clients need to feel welcome by your Hispanic staff who focus on Caucasian clients! You need to change the name !! EUROPEAN!! II was the only client in the bar …. Waited extensively for a drink and walked out when observing no effort initiated by yourTWO staff (Spanish speaking ) at the bar! You have a problem in the facility. I will file a federal law and city and county of San Francisco law suit next time this happens to me! TRUST ME… God bless America!! Move out of Tenderlion if you only want EUROPEAN patrons. By the way … nobody answers the phone at the Warwick … be aware if you are coming from abroad to this establishment. 03/02/2025 18:40 visit! The negative reviews are ABSOLUTELY accurate based on my two visits. Relocate this institution … I will start a solo protest in-front of this establishment unless the assure having new and well trained culturally sensitive staff!! If you have been discriminated by this establishment please feel free to join! Why did they punish me by making me wait so long? All I asked for was gin, lemon juice and soda water. Initially being told it’s not part of the happy hour menu.
Our hotel was in the neighbourhood, so I checked the website for this bar. The website menu said gt happy hour between 5-7. When we arrived and ask about the HH. The waiter said he didn’t know anything about happy hour. When I told him about the info on the website his response was ‘I’m not in charge of the website’. It was the weirdest response ever. Next time just check with your supervisor or just give it to us straight that the information is outdated. The funny thing was that there was a chalk board in the back stating the happy hour. We were planning on having a few drinks and something to snack. But we left after 1 round of drinks. He gets 1 star because the GT was nice.
Super rude bartenders. We stayed two nights at the warwick. We only went down for our free wine one of the nights. The bartender was super rude, telling us that we already used our wine credit. We tried to tell him someone used our room number to get free wine. He then continued to talk about us rudely in spanish behind our backs. Terrible experience.
I would give them a zero star if I could! Went up to the bar and the Hispanic gentleman bartender continued to speak to his friends and the only acknowledgment of my existence that he gave me was putting a napkin way too far in front of me and then he leaves. Then other white gentleman bartender looked at me and then went and gave napkins and plates to some other folks then went and asked another table if there items were good and then came back to the bar and just looked at me and the went and helped someone else. I just got up and went to their bathroom that a person with disabilities could never use🤬🤬🤬🦽🦽 I came back from the restroom and just walked right out and said nothing. What a shame how disrespectful and disgusting! You all knocked passives aggressiveness and racist right on out of the dictionary, Congratulations! Honte à toi! au reverie.
Went in at 11pm sat at bar. 5 people at the bar. Bartender didn't notice us for 15 min. Gave us menu. 10 min go by. Never came our way. Worst service I've experienced in a long time. Wont be giving this place a second chance.
