Great place! If we're not through recommendation I would of looked right past this place. Highly recommend!
Love their takos made with hand made tortillas simple yet delicious
Authentic and tasty food. Great variety on the menu. HAND MADE TORTILLAS😃Corn and flour.
La Ceiba is my favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Dishes are so tasty and they serve delicious drinks
Shrimp cocktail was ok, Michelada was great.. The mariscada however....WAS AMAZING.
Thank you very much La Ceiba for your very good service and the delicious food the tacos are super👍👍👍
Karaoke on Sunday, delicious tacos and good fun. Highly recommend.
Really good authentic Mexican food! Will definitely be back!
The food is authentic and always excellent and generous portions
A good place to get food. They have all kinds of styles and variations of catering. It's near downtown and the food is top quality. Micheladas are a bit expensive but delicious.
Good food and drink with excellent service. Definitely a must visit in San Jose!
The food here is delicious. We always order burritos. They're super delicious and the hot sauce is very good and spicy. Will totally recommend it here.
It was a wonderful. Great food. Beautiful waitress n affordable
Best authentic Mexican restaurant in the us in my personal opinion, great food, fun times. Perfect for you and a group of friends
Really good. Portions were huge but I really enjoyed my chilaquiles and meat. The coffee was good too.
The food and service are excellent. Delicious experience.
good food, I haven't been there alot but the times I went the food was really good. specially the tripas lol...
Tacos hecho a mano are the best tacos around. Goes great with a double super michelada w/ the shrimp on the rim 👌
A solid Mexican restaurant serving massive flavorful portions. * Definitely worth the drive if you're not in the neighborhood! We've been there a couple of times and were amazed by food quality, taste and amount. The amount is literally crazy! The staff is nice and they have an outdoor sitting, which is really nice too, given the current situation. Highly recommend!
This place has a FABULOUS caldo de res. And with tortillas hechas a mano (home made tortillas). Great service and festive ambience. What else is there to say? AND karaoke Thursday nights. So fun.
Small place, they have karaoke nights. The food was great and the fresh watermelon and orchata water was on point!
Love this place ! Food is very affordable
Friendly and responsive staff. Delicious food and drinks. Well priced, relaxed vibe
Everything was excellent! Las micheladas al 💯✅👌

Soups are delicious try them all good snacks too!! Hand made tortilla tacos or you can choose the other kind.. Karaoke nights try it you won't regret it my favorite the cat fish soup
Great food, great service, music just a little bit too loud. Overall great! I will be coming back.
I've been here over a dozen times. My go to is the Super Michiladas and lengua tacos. I've also had their ceviche, shrimp plate, and other things I don't know the name to. Portions are huge! They also have a parking lot, which is super nice for downtown area. During this pandemic, we were seated outside, social distancing, and workers had mask on. I highly recommend this place.
One of my favorite places! The food is always the best! The only thing is there is very little parking
The micheladas are delicious! 5 stars! It might look like a hole in the wall, but the food is amazing. The restaurant is small so you can pretty much sit anywhere available. The server will bring you the menu. If you’re with a group, try the shrimp platter because it comes with cucumbers and shrimps. They have karaoke on the weekends so it’s pretty loud and fun. As a mom, I try to come early in the day to avoid the super loud music because I can’t hear myself talk, but if you want to drink and enjoy music, this is the place for you. High chairs are available and parking is on the back. The bathrooms are vandalized. It’s not a 5 star bathroom. LOL The restaurant is small but the food is delicious.

I'm Mexican and yes the food is Mexican , the name and colors made me believe it was Hondurian.
La Ceiba is a place where authentic Mexican food is prepared. You can have a great selection of seafood platter and the best is the homemade tortillas. Their tacos are the best in the area for sure. I can eat those everyday. There are some areas of improvement such as the ambiance. Sometimes they have the music very loud and i cannot have a conversation with my friends.
Ok, food is so good!, tortillas are hand made, tacos, burritos and tortas are huge, carne asada plates are bomb prices are great especially for the good portions and great flavor, my only problems are service is not very good and location is very small, they do not take cards you have to use ATM inside, but food is really good!!!
Very fresh. Delicious. Many seafood dishes. 100% authentic. Even the rice and beans are a step above the usual fare offered up and down S First Street. The salsa, freshly made along with crispy perfect tortillas chips, delicious. The Cóctel de Camarónes was worthy of the best places in Mexico, and at only $14 it is a steal!!. I take away one star only because this place needs a serious makeover even in the outside dining area. But go for the food, your will not be sorry!
For me, this place is a hidden gem. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of the volume of the music. As a Mexican, I understand it, but after a while, you want to hear what your friends are telling you the first time; one level less to the volume would be perfect. The place is small, but has a lot of natural light, is clean, and smells good (that smell of homemade food, but not greasy/fried food). The staff is friendly and helpful; its menu is wide and varied (several vegetarian options), and its homemade sauces (green and red) chef kisses, I enjoyed "Flautas de papa" (served with rice, beans, salad, and avocado). My friend ordered, "Alambre de camarón" (filled with bell peppers, onion, bacon, mushrooms, cheese, and homemade tortillas). If you are craving legit Mexican food and are nearby, this is the place to try!
La Ceiba provided exactly what we needed for a quick pick up for dinner. Even had some customers singing and providing the necessary vibes for the ambiance. The Tacos were got that are not pictured were absolutely delicious. Do yourself a favor and go head over ASAP
Unassuming Mexican restaurant with super kind service. Massive selection of micheladas! Must try one of their Molcajetes!

Based on the name Ceiba I had imagine it would have been a Central American restaurant. Its a mexican restaurant with the usual typical dishes as well as molcajetes. I ordered a wet burrito. Well made with added salad and salsa. Overall the food was good, the service average and the atmosphere a bit too loud for my liking.
Everything was great regarding the food and the staff, super nice and super delicious. Muy buena atención del personal y la comida muy rica. My only comment is about prices, it is relatively high price compared to the real price of each plate, specially in alcohol.

the food is good but they charge you for every little thing you might not think they would
Usually the food from this place is good. My food today wasn’t great. It was dry, hard to chew and not as good as it has been. Aside from that, the women that work there aren’t all that nice. One is great, and the rest look so mad and don’t talk to anyone. Now that the food isn’t as great, I probably won’t be going back.
The food was ok. I ordered a torta it was ok, not enough flavor it took a while to get the food too and the worse part was there is no restroom, all the offer to clean your hands before you eat your food is hand sanitizer. Thus place should make an effort to have a better way to clean your hands before eating the service should be faster and their menu needs improvement

The place is dirty and the employees were talking bad words and handling money and food at the same time and they were not clean there hands
Too loud on Friday, Saturday, Sunday..not a place that you want to be if you are trying to enjoy your food, especially when drunked people get the microphone
A cup of coffee costs more than $3.00 and a beer is over $6.00 for one of those skinny little bottles. I didn't ask about their food, I just assumed a plate would be over $12.00
hair in my food. no apology or refund. stuff in my friend's drink. nice service horrible management customer service. tasty food but unsanitary restaurants
It’s really poor service server not bring us chips nothing ask if anything need I ordered tacos gosh tortilla w meat only nothing else never coming back

Took forever to receive our meals without utensils. I had to ask numerous times for salsa and cups of water. Overall service took about an hour for 4 tacos and rice and beans with only 5 people dining.
