El Rancho San Juan Reviews
Can I give this place 10 ⭐️ The food was so delicious and the lady at the register was so nice. I ate my food so fast. I got the taco salad with chicken. I was surprised at how much chicken was in it. I wish I could take this place back home with me.
I had the al pastor, pollo asado, and fish tacos, which were all solid. They seemed legit, with the right taco tortillas and accurate flavours. The tacos were filled generously and came out hot and not greasy like other ones I've had. They also gave free nachos with salsa. My friend got the super taco, which might be different from what you expect as it has a lot of lettuce, cheese, and rice, so it's a utensil dish rather than a handheld. Overall, I quite enjoyed the tacos and the prices were fair.
Fantastic food with fresh ingredients and generous portions. The staff were welcoming and exceptionally friendly. Definitely a place I’d return to—highly recommended!
this place is really good! my friend and i randomly came across this place in our neighborhood and decided to try it. she got an asada chimichanga, and i got an asada california burrito (not pictured). the meat was flavorful and all of the ingredients were fresh! we’re definitely coming back and telling our friends about this place (:
Sure! Here’s a more casual, humanized version of your review, keeping the essence intact while switching out those specific words: --- Hands down, the best "RIBEYE BARRIA" I've ever had. The beef is like something your grandma would’ve made—tender and full of flavor. The flavors are simple and true to the dish. Everything is top quality and made fresh! The verde salsa is spot on—not too spicy, just perfect. It's made the old-school way and presented just right! I don’t usually write long reviews, but this one’s different. If you haven’t been to El Rancho Grande yet, do yourself a favor—*go*. I absolutely recommend it. Support this gem on Irving Street in SF! California has no shortage of great food, but this one’s a *keeper*. --- Let me know what you think or if you want to tweak anything else!
Hands down the best “RIBEYE BARRIA” I have ever had. The beef is like a pot roast your grandmother cooked & the flavors are simple/authentic. Everything is fresh! The verde salsa has perfect flavor and not too spicy! It’s traditionally prepared and presented to a T! I never write more than a couple words on a review -THIS IS A MUST if you haven’t been and I highly recommend El Rancho Grande. Support this gem on Irving Street SF! While California is blessed to have a wide range of foods this is a KEEPER?
The BEST Mexican in the NOPA/Haight area, I’ve been coming here weekly/monthly since 2018, and always get the Super Burrito. If you eat in the restaurant, you can ask for free chips and salsa (though they’ll typically offer), and there’s grilled onions and hot peppers in a free condiments bar.
DELICIOUS!! Had the classic margarita (which is frozen) and the enchiladas. The guacamole was everything I needed it to be — super fresh and super tasty. My friend had the chicken quesadilla which tasted as good as it looked. They also give you free chips and salsa when you sit down which was nice. Yum!!
Me and my friend agreed this deserved 5 star. The loaded quesadilla alone constituted a perfect rating. The staff was friendly and suggested all the food we ordered. The beef tongue was great, the shrimp was good, carne asada and carnitas was great. Chips and unlimited salsa to start, cheap beers. Had a great dinner here. Go try it!!
Fantastic, unassuming spot with truly delicious and hard-to-find Mexican specialties. The Mission taquerias may get all the hype, but why fight the crowds there when you can get your delicious taqueria staples (carne asada here is awesome) like tacos, burritos, nachos, tortas, and quesadillas, as well as rare dishes like camarones a la diabla (slightly sweet, VERY tasty) and the molcajetes, which you can get in rojo or verde sauces. I have a slight preference for rojo but both are superb, well worth sharing with a friend or two. I didn't have a go-to spot for Mexican food until now; I'm so glad to find it in my neighborhood!
I really like this place. Food there is great 4 times out of 5. I go here all the time and often am satisfied, but sometimes, inconsistently, the quality doesn’t measure up. Love the food, great hours, please just be a little more consistent.
We drove all the way from Sacramento for a night in San Francisco and were looking for a taco place to grab a quick bite late at night. Man, were we happy that we found this place. We tried tacos, enchiladas, and Chile Relleno, and everything was super tasty. A small location with big flavors.
I’ve ate here before and it was okay but tonight, they scraped the burnt bottom of their too-salty chile verde to make my burrito. Only the tortilla was edible. I was so disappointed. Like why the hell would you serve the burnt bottom of food to anyone.
I have to say this is the most disgusting burrito I’ve ever had in my entire life. Usually there’s something redeemable about a burrito but this one was just horrible all around. The guacamole was runny and tasteless, the chile relleno pepper was hard, and in general it tasted like one of the ingredients had gone bad. Turns out it was the salsa. It has some kind of sweet flavor that tastes like it’s turned. Unfortunately, I didn’t discover this until I got home. I just threw it out. And I got charged 25¢ bag fee, which isn’t that much, but I literally had a bag with me that I could’ve put the burrito in if she’d asked. What a waste of money. Don’t go here.
