Stopped by for lunch with family visiting. Union College. Really cute vibe, food was excellent and John our server was friendly, accommodating and multitasking. Would definitely go back for lunch.

The brunch here was fantastic! Simply delicious food. They were short handed the day we went and the staff remained very friendly and helpful while we were there.

Super yummy food, large portion sizes, friendly and attentive service. As a vegetarian, I ordered the Mrs. Doubtfire breakfast wrap, and it was delicious. Heartily recommend.

Great atmosphere and the service was amazing. The waitress was so helpful and nice. The coffee hazelnut cinnamon was to die for. The breakfast sandwich and hash browns were fantastic. Would definitely be going back and highly recommend.

A long-standing small business on Jay St. Consistently delicious and fresh. The owner often provides catering services - including for celebs that are in town for film or theater.

Looking for a brunch place on a Sunday while visiting and VERY happy to have found Ambition. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for our party of six, never feeling put-off by the size of the party, and were kind enough to move some tables to make it all work. The server was friendly and efficient, quick to bring the food as it was ready, as well as with any additional requests (thanks, Maddie!). The food was DELICIOUS--great blueberry pancakes, eggs, breakfast potatoes, strawberry french toast, omelets, blueberry waffles, and more. The Bloody Mary was outstanding--on par with The Ruby Slipper in New Orleans. DEFINITELY recommended by everyone in our party!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I just discovered this place yesterday with a friend, and we walked in looking for breakfast. Even though we were a few minutes late and the menu had already switched over to lunch, the guys working there were kind enough to still make us breakfast. We both ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on a hard roll, and I have to say, growing up on Long Island (where in my opinion they make the best egg sandwiches), this place seriously impressed me. The sandwich was delicious, the staff was super friendly, and the prices were very reasonable ,especially for being right in the heart of Schenectady. I definitely found my new favorite spot to eat! Recommending to eat here over any other place in the area.

After rehearsing at Proctor’s, my friends and I stopped at this cafe for brunch. Let me tell you, I’ll absolutely be coming back with my family. Our waiter—apologies I cannot recall his name, was very charismatic. Not only that, but our food was excellent. I ordered the verklempt, and my friends got the Berry Manilow, pumpkin pancakes with a side of home fries, and a fairly picky one got a bagel with melted cheese in it. In sum, it was a comfortable place and a great treat before our concert. Thank you!

Food was great. Server was great. I had the Gay Sex omlette from their Saturday brunch menu and my friend had the pumpkin pancakes. I'm from out of town but I'd come back here in a heartbeat!

On our visit to Union College we stopped in at this gorgeous eclectic eatery and had a fabulous breakfast. Love everything about this place…the food, the ambiance and the service! A must go if you are in the area!

Loaded with atmosphere and good food! We were a group of six cyclists on the last leg of our journey along the Erie Canal from Buffalo to Albany. We stopped in for brunch on a wet and surprisingly cold August morning. We were greeted with warm and friendly service, and hot cocoa and coffee to warm our bodies and souls. I also ordered a hot bowl of chicken Florentine soup - which took the chill right out of me - and a Bluffin' with my Muffin sandwich (which doesn't actually contain a muffin). The food was really good, and we had so much fun looking at all of the eclectic decorations.

Delicious and fun. This place has been on my radar all year. Finally got to eat there today. Delicious. Order the square with bacon and it was perfect. Eggs cooked perfectly, potatoes, cooked and seasoned to perfection, just amazing, and the bacon was crisp and tasty. I would definitely recommend getting one of their flavored mimosas, I got plain and wished I would have flavored it, they have a whole bar's worth of flavors. Took home a boozy Muffin Kahlua and coffee flavor, and a brie bacon and egg sandwich. I am so happy I got to try this place before my next adventure. As a foodie and a traveler. The staff was super attentive. Apologies, for a wait that was not even a wait. Very nice staff. A++++++. Don't skip this place, and don't forget to grab a book at the boom shop down the strip and a coffee next door too.

Enjoyed this amazing restaurant on Jay Street! The food was amazing and only second to the delicious coffee martinis. Staff was warm and welcoming. The desserts were delicious and I left so full. Cozy, comfy atmosphere. Absolutely will return. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Such a cute little place for lunch. Right on Jay street which is the best spot with other neat little shops to walk around. The atmosphere is very cozy and vintage like inspired. Our waitress was awesome. Their lattes and coffee are amazing. Good prices too.

This place is great! Located on the walking part of Jay St in downtown Schenectady. The menu is small and has some unique offerings and some of your favorites. Breakfast is just perfect, simple and delicious. Oh, and try a boozy muffin, they are delicious 😋

There is a good reason why Ambition has such a strong following and is the go-to spot for so many people living, working and visiting in Schenectady. Their home fries are 5 stars and they have a large breakfast menu that is great. But their dinner options are NEXT LEVEL! The fact that their tiny kitchen can consistently put out such incredible food is amazing. Now, the only sad part is they don't always offer dinner, it's usually just for Proctors shows. But wow, if you get a chance to come for dinner, cancel all your other plans and come here. Fresh, delicious food from appetizers, through their huge main course portions and great deserts. Try something new and you won't be disappointed.

First time, not so bad! The lunch menu is mostly sandwiches and wraps so making a selection wasn’t very difficult. The bread sets everything apart and I have to say, the cranberry jam they put on the sandwiches is very tasty. The retro vibe makes the dining experience fun. I say sit in the back area if you want to be more secluded. Our waitress was super nice, recommended items from the menu - which has a large mimosa selection. I say less juice and more champagne next time. Major tip, If you plan on having breakfast here during the week, make sure you arrive before 11 am!!!!!

Wow what a cute spot to check out. I've lived in the area for a long time & don't know how I missed this place. What a creative, whimsical and delish establishment Ambition Coffee & Eatery is. 1st the decor must be seen... the artworks, the record wall & whimsy menu. Great food was served & excellent service by the staff. Stop by and enjoy yourself, I will again for sure.

Greeted by a sign that said "Happy Not Monday" I felt immediately welcomed by Ambition Coffee & Eatery. The smell of grease and sugar promised a satisfying breakfast for my empty belly. Overall it was a worthwhile breakfast stop. The vibe was eclectic, with all the interesting images across the space. Enjoyed all the silly sayings, (e.g. "Danger: Men Cooking", and "Beware pickpockets and loose women".) posted everywhere. It felt, at least in part, like a small corner of Mardi Gras had found its way up to Schenectady. My meal; a meaty omelette was fine. I wouldn't say the best I've ever had, but very, very far from the worst. My daughter's pancakes were entirely uninspired; the white flour was evident in the rubbery nature of the meal. In all, I was disappointed by the menu. After such a high bar had been set by the decor, the menu was rather pedestrian. Had this been more of a local mom & pop diner, I would have been much less disappointed. The service was pleasant, and with car trouble, our server stood out by asking around for a garage recommendation from the locals. Totally above and beyond expectations. Overall, I'd recommend Ambition if you're looking for a salt-of-the-earth breakfast with a funky environment. I would definitely go back after exploring other restaurants in the area.

So , where to begin here. Been in here once before just for a quick coffee but always meant to come back to really catch a vibe. Walked in ready for the crab cakes. Except they were sold out at noon! At noon? Ok. Nothing else sounded appetizing to me, but i ordered the ragin cajun chicken sandwhich . The flavor was good, but thr chickn was a big piece of rubber. Not good, only ate half cuz couldnt even cut through the other piece. gotta stop eating chicken in these streets apparently. Ordered 2 matcha lattes, forgot to ask for oat milk, but wasnt offered any options to begin with. It was ok. But whats funny is i was telling my friend how i love the vanilla matcha at whistling kettle, theres no syrup involved just subtle vanilla flavor and they ask if you want oat milk-well our waiter heard me mention the name and took it upon himslef to jump in oir convo and comment that WK was *totally overrated* and everyone from there comes to Ambition. Totally out of pocket, and rude. Especially considering he was running around like a chicken with no head nc lack of waiters , and the fact that i had the chicken sandwhich at WK the day before and it was delicious, unlike the one in front of me in real time. So , anyway, after that tacky comment and the taste of the food, i was annoyed and ready to go. My friend was eating their meal, which they did fairly enjoy, until he got to the mac salad. Which was actually just mayo with a few macaronis in it. It was disgusting like i had to spit it out . It was like eating a spoonful of pure mayo, no seasoning, no onions or peppers. Just hot mayo. 🤮 Idky, but even after that, wanted a muffin. I ordered 2 of their boozy muffins. Now, im no muffin expert, but i do partake from time to time. To me muffins are fluffy and soft, a bit moist. These muffins were the chewiest, wettest, weirdest muffins we ever had. Im still confused by the texture. And fhe flavor which should have been sinfully delicious, was just meh. Took 2 bites and threw them for the birds. Im sorry to even leave a review such as this, tbh i may have spared them was it not for the arrogance of our waiter , but honestly the food was trash. Sorry not sorry. The matcha was mid. The waiter was a hater and the muffins were ya last hope. I love the atmosphere in that place, was hoping to make it a reg spot but theres plenty other cool joints nearby with humility and quality food. Ill stick to them. Its great to have Ambition, but humility is good, too.

Table was dirty, food came with hair and the croissant was wet and cold. My answer to the owner’s reply: So attacking me and placing doubt on what happened is your defense?. That says a lot from you. The hair was inside the food, no chance it was ours. The table was sticky, the croissant was cold and spongy and we did tell the waitress what we didn’t like when we decided it was better to go somewhere else. Accidents happen, but calling me a liar just makes me think you don’t really care and prefer the easy way out.
