Eden Syracuse Reviews
This place is special. When I made a reservation two days before, only two time options remained. That in itself spoke volumes. When we arrived, it took us a few minutes to find the place because there is no sign. The food and wine and service, however, well made up for it all. Amazing and highly recommend.
A world-class restaurant in Syracuse! While visiting Syracuse for our first Parents Weekend, we took our son and a couple of friends to Eden. It was phenomenal. The steak was perfect! The sear, the seasoning, the evenness of the cooking, and so flavorful. We all loved the short menu, which demonstrated the restaurant's focus. We tried every appetizer, multiple steaks, one fish, and two desserts. Everything was perfect. We've eaten at great restaurants around the world, this place is now on the list. Oh, and we really enjoyed the selection of local wines. We always try local, not often do we have the opportunity for New York wines, the ones we had were excellent and paired well. Overall, an unbelievable and completely unexpected experience. We can't wait to go back.
Such a fantastic experience from beginning to end! The open kitchen with the wood-fired grill adds so much to the atmosphere, and you can really see the care that goes into every dish. The flavors were incredible and highlighted the best of the local ingredients. The staff were friendly, attentive, and working hard to make everything perfect. Truly a memorable meal!
What a wonderful experience from start to finish. You truly feel appreciated and attended to throughout your visit. The kitchen is open so you can see the chefs working with the wood fired grill throughout your meal. Everything was delicious and produced with care. I appreciated the hyper-local concept. Felt like I really got a taste of the region’s best all in one meal. The staff were all awesome and hustling!
Truly the best restaurant in the area! Everything is tastefully done- from the sophisticated ambiance, to creative local drink offerings, to the thoughtful menu. The food is impeccably executed. We had decadent, bone-in ribeye that was well aged and cooked to perfection including savory crust and tender center. The halibut with saffron rice and seasonal vine vegetables, made even my eight year old practically lick his plate for more. Thank you for not only an exceptional meal, but an unforgettable experience.
I've heard a lot of good things about this place so we went there for dinner. When you walk in, you're greeted with the smell of burning wood from the kitchen. Everything is cooked with wood fire which adds a unique taste and aroma to the food there. You can see the kitchen at the end of the dining area where the food is prepared. The dining area is small but you never feel rushed to finish your meal. The waiting staff were all great and very attentive to the patrons. There's a large drink menu if that's what you're into. The food itself was amazing. I love the detail put into the dishes. The staff mentioned that they try to source their ingredients locally. Every bite was amazing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you haven't been here already.
EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE! After hearing reviews of Eden, we reserved a table on a Wednesday evening. From the time we entered, the service was fantastic. The craft cocktails were amazing, only upstaged by the steak entrees. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and would certainly recommend Eden.
This restaurant is just wonderful the lighting and plants etc lend to the “Eden” atmosphere which are newer changes and just make this restaurant and even better place to have a special dinner. The food of course was amazing with steaks cooked to perfection and the capelletti is to die for!!!! Small plates were all fantastic and the local red blend wine from standing stone was the perfect addition to our meal. Thank you to Paige and Tyler for the amazing service and the the food as always was just perfection!
Went to Eden to celebrate my birthday dinner. First time going. They offer a seasonal menu that rotates based on locally sources and grown in NY foods as well as wine and spirits. I had the Halibut from Maine, which was perfectly cooked and the smokiness was amazing. Made it taste like buttery bacon, except it was a protein rich fish. Loved the wheat berry couscous. My husband had the filet, which well seasoned, tender and flanked.
A hidden place in the heart of Syracuse downtown with very nice atmosphere created by the team and the open kitchen concept. We haven’t been there in a while, but it was a pleasure to go back and re-experience good things. Food and service at best you could get in our days. Taylor was very helpful with some recommendations as well with the service. Strongly recommend and we may go back again during the summer.
This is a great spot! My husband and I grabbed dinner here after a performance at the Landmark. Service was attentive and so friendly. We really enjoyed the menu - it’s been well cultivated and, though shorter, is very typical for a farm-to-table spot and highlights/focuses on top-notch, high-quality ingredients. The mushroom toast was such a comforting dish. The flavors are simple, but perfectly balanced. The tenderloin was cooked beautifully. Excellent crust and the crème fraiche was a nice touch. The roasted chicken leg was also wonderfully cooked and seasoned. The couscous was light and a nice pairing with the richness of the chicken, but could use a hint more salt or lemon to brighten it up a bit. We booked our next reservation while we were enjoying our chocolate mousse and the blueberry panna cotta for dessert. Looking forward to coming back again.
Five starts all around. One of the best dining experiences in Syracuse, I think. As soon as you walk in, it's comfy and cozy - I absolutely love the wood fire smell and the exposed brick is a beautiful look. Small inside which keeps it intimate. The service was A++. The food was even better. The Beef Tartare was an excellent starter. I didn't partake in the Mushroom Toast but the others said it was great. The steak was absolutely delicious. Several different special cuts to offer, some of which I've never been offered elsewhere. All four of us had different steaks and we all loved them, tasteful and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend. Will return for sure.
The best steak I have ever had!! It is very warm, cozy also romantic place. A little on the expensive side, but worth it. Their drinks and steaks are fantastic. Their alcohol is very tasty, rich and strong also their mixologist is very passionate about making drinks. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food I would every day if I could. Fantastic for anniversary dinners! We go complimentary champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Highly recommend this place.
Lovely place! I tried the NY strip, mushroom toast, duck breast, and the cocktail (Social Disorder). Personally, I really enjoyed the NY strip and mushroom toast. Although the duck breast wasn't to my taste, I believe other customers might appreciate it. I think it's a great venue for special occasions. The friendly staff contributed to a satisfying experience. Thank you!
The best food, cozy atmosphere and amazing service! The staff here is so attentive and the food was delicious and came out promptly. We both ordered the steak dinner and the portion was bigger than we expected. The bartender also makes really good drinks and is super knowledgeable! Will definitely be back again!
Had a wonderful dinner here a couple weeks ago. This place is one of the nicer and higher rated places in Syracuse so my bf and I really wanted to try it out. The cocktail I had was very unique and tart, we got the mushroom toast which was definitely my favorite of the night. We enjoyed the grilled watermelon, and I really love when restaurants offer a small free one bites. It really makes the experience feel very upscale. We got the lobster and shrimp dinner which was very tasty and the chicken. Although the chicken was probably my least favorite dinner it had a wonderful garden taste, very summery and fresh. I was pretty disappointed with the dessert choice unfortunately. It needs some sort of extra sweetness like a cookie crust or even some ice cream. The peaches itself was very tasty but they gave us a lot and I got bored with the dish very quickly and did not finish. The main bartender here is wonderful and has created some very unique drinks that should definitely be checked out. Overall I really liked this place and plan on going back to try the different seasonal drinks and food.
I really wanted to love Eden but it is definitely overrated. The menu is very limited. With only 4 main courses (I guess they also have some other steaks but the server never brought them up to us), you would think they would be great. I've read the NY Strip is fantastic so that's what I ordered. It was very tasty but the fat was not properly rendered so there were hard, thick pieces of fat that you could not eat. My wife's piece was a little better than mine in that regard. The potatoes, kale and creme fraiche were excellent. The tiny salad that they included was soaking wet with dressing and then the server grabbed them before I was even done eating it. I believe they did that because the steak was ready right after we got our salads. The lemon tart was very good but the chocolate lava cake was, literally, about 2 inches wide for $14. My wife laughed when she got it. At least the coffee was very good. I also didn't appreciate the server, Tyler, upcharging me for my Manhattan. He asked me which bourbon I wanted and I said their house, I'm sure, is fine. He asked me if I liked Rye and I said that I do. He said that they make their Manhattans with a particular rye (it is Old Home Mutiny, apparently) so I said, "that's fine." I was charged an extra $6 for that rye so it was a $24 Manhattan that was just okay. It's the principle more than the cost that I don't appreciate. The atmosphere is pretty cool but it does get noisy since it's a small room. Overall, we both thought that the steak was tasty but we didn't think the dinner was worth the money... and we believe we can spend $200 elsewhere.
Nowhere near as special as I thought it would be. ☹️ My pan roasted chicken wasn't coming off the bone at all, wasn't tender and juicy. The chicken gravy tasted terrible, it was sour. The Parisian gnocchi was like burnt, puffed, empty croutons. The service was fine but not any better than a chain restaurant, server wasn't around much. The excellent parts: the potatoes that came with my husband's steak were the best I've ever had, and I've never sat in a more comfortable chair in a restaurant. Nice atmosphere. In my opinion the food was definitely not worth the price.
