Salt City Coffee Syracuse Reviews
A chill, cozy, quiet little place. They brew your pour-over coffee right on the front counter, which I thought was so cool. Tasty egg sandwiches! This felt like a special place, and I'm greatful that it exists in my city
Def one of my fav places in Syracuse for a warm drink! And the atmosphere is perfection. A must try for all!
Wish they were open later. This is an awesome coffee shop! Great atmosphere. I love the couches and arm chairs! The ladies running tye place were super nice and funny.
Salt City Coffee is a true Syracuse gem—steeped in local pride and buzzing with creative energy. The space itself has character: exposed brick walls, cozy seating nooks, and a laid-back vibe perfect for laptop work or long chats. The drinks are surprisingly adventurous. Their specials are genuinely worth trying, which is rare even among good cafes. The Parasol (a ginger matcha fusion) is layered and aromatic—divisive but deeply flavorful if it’s your thing. The Scorcher is a citrusy espresso tonic that packs a serious summer jolt. Regular drinks like the matcha latte and cappuccino are well-executed with silky milk and clean espresso notes, though not particularly standout on their own. The rotating seasonal pastries—PB&J muffin, zucchini sunrise, honey lavender donut—show off a playful, local touch. We also picked up some beans to go; they roast in-house and clearly take it seriously. In short, this is one of the few cafes where I’m excited to try the specials. Salt City is confident, creative, and grounded in community. Highly recommended.
I am newer to the area and have been trying out coffee places to find "my favorite coffee spot". Food - great. I got a blueberry lemon muffin and it was top notch in my opinion. I don't know if their baked good are made in house but it tasted like it was. Coffee - so far my favorite taste of coffee from all the coffee shops I have visited thus far. I enjoyed their coffee so much that I have returned for a second time. The first picture is when I stayed to eat and the second picture is from today when I was in more of a hurry and took my order to go. I love that they make the foam art on both the to-stay and to-go orders. Atmosphere is not exactly what I am personally looking for (it is great for those that are looking for a library feel with the darker paint colors I feel giving it that vibe). We all have our own preference and so far they won me over with their latte.
We LOVE working with the team at Salt City Coffee! Their coffee cart is the perfect addition to weddings and events -our clients and guests always rave about it. Not only is the coffee incredible, but the service is consistently warm, reliable, and professional. Salt City brings the good vibes and the caffeine☕✨
Forever my favorite local coffee shop. The workers are always so nice, the coffee is great and the place is absolutely adorable and welcoming. I love taking my friends here for the first time to enjoy it. The Valencia cold brew is my go-to, and the cuselandia is a close second. Highly recommend it!
Very elegant and calm atmosphere inside the cafe. Quick service, nice people. Loved the avocado toast with pickled onions and cappuccino. The bagel sandwich was also good. The orders look like small portion but they were extremely filling. Had a nice breakfast with friends. Do visit 😊
Definitely underrated… One of the better bacon egg and cheese bagels I have had in upstate NYC! Perfectly done and toasted. Coffee and presentation was amazing. I got a mocha coffee and they burn 🔥 a marshmallow on top. Chai Latte was good too. The interior was very homey. I would highly recommend!
Great spot to enjoy some coffee and snacks. Beautiful decor and simple setting. Kind and friendly hospitality. I got a zucchini vegan muffin and latte ☕️I tried the Valencia cold brew based on recommendations- it was a full and rich flavored cold brew with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla. Slightly sweet, but not overwhelming flavor 🧊 ☕️ 👌🏽
I stumbled onto this coffee shop and was pleasantly surprised. They roast their beans in house and the atmosphere provided here is amazing. The music is kept low so talking to the people you are with is easy and the seating makes it feel homey and warm. The cold brew is fantastic and the perfect way to start the day. Definitely give it a try
Absolutely brilliant. There’s no reason why this establishment shouldn’t have five stars across-the-board. The quality of the coffee and food is exquisite. The staff is friendly and approachable. Everything is clean and has a calming uniqueness. I just moved here and will be making an appearance very often. I saw that they have a one star from someone that hadn’t explained why. I assume it’s from a troll. Very happy to have found this place.
Great coffee at a reasonable price. The perfect cafe. Terrific ambiance, love the decorations and the location. They are on the first floor of a remodeled old Syracuse home. Great space for grabbing a bite with folks from work or just hanging with friends. The Thai Turkey sandwich is incredible and they do a wonderful job with espresso drinks. In the area, my favorite coffee shops are Cafe Kubal, Recess, and Broadway. They all do a great job. Salt City, however, has become my go-to place. They close at 4pm and have some hours on Saturday so this isn't the place for doing that late night research (Recess is better for that), but perfect for a quick work getaway or to prep for your afternoon meeting.
